I loved it. The plot is basically how Chu Kong and Xiang Yun accidentally get bound together by the ancient red thread, and go through seven love tribulations to ensure Chu Kong's victory in defeating Cang Hai. The twist in the 5th lifetime where they both realize the truth of Cang Hai and the Moluo Clan is really satisfying to watch as well. All seven lifetimes were depicted really well, Ding Yuxi and and Yang Chaoyue did fantastic together. Their relationship was very cute, and the chemistry was good as well. The spontaneous ending of the dead partner reappearing again is a classic in the cdrama industry. It normally annoys me to see them just appear with no clear explanation, but for this drama I took it as a happy positive thing and interpreted it as Chu Kong and Xiang Yun finally being able to be together after so long. All in all, I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't watched it yet. GO WATCH IT NOW (p.s. i think ding yuxi is really fit, idk where the 'not handsome' allegations came from) (p.p.s they also look quite good together, the visuals from the leads serving) (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything) Was this review helpful to you?

Definitely a must watch for xianxia lovers.
You must watch it if you are looking for a beautiful xianxia series. I must say this show is captivating enough for you to hook on to it until the last episode.Story - 9
Cast - 10
Cinematography - 9.5
Execution - 10.
I already like Ding Yuxi and his work from the show ' the story of wolf and tiger ' and i am liking him in this show very much.
This is my first time watching FL Yang Chaoyue and she is killing this series with her looks and her acting skills. Moreover her character is mature and do not talk in childish way which i take as cliche, immature and boring.
So, if you wanna watch a good story with good actors then this show is for you.

It's really worth to try
I've tried to watch all the 6 episodes, turns out that it was more than what i expect. All the visual effect is amazing, the dubbing is really good (i read somewhere that it's their original voice though), i really like the storyline and the plot. All the soundtrack (although only 3/4 have been published) are so good, especially the one sang by faye and A-Lin, i love it so much. And also i like that there are some handsome side character 🤭. Overall i think i will continue to watch this, hopefully every episodes will give me more suprises ❤️Was this review helpful to you?

Had so much potential
FL did it for me. Just horrible acting. She did better here than The journey of Chong Zi. But even then, she just got more and more annoying with each episode and everything looks force which makes you not able to connect to the character.Ryan Ding did a great job and I tried to keep going because of him but just couldn’t. A strong actor that tries to carry this series because of weak FL, i feel bad for him.
They could have used other better actress that in my opinion is very pretty as well like Zhao Lusi who ready shows great chemistry with Ryan Ding in Romance of Tiger and Rose.
Music, costumes and cinematography were great, however FL just didn’t cut it.
Those who want to watch a cute FL that can’t act, go for it but not for me.

Lovely story with a lot going on
I loved watching this drama so much even tho i waited a long time for the last few eps to get released. The story is so good and doesnt get boring at all because the sevne different lives are all very different from each other, and its so cute to see that the "cloud" (Fl) and "the god of war" (ML) turn out to have known each other for a long time but their memories were deleted by the villian of the story at the same time they find out that the Fl lead turns out to be not just a cloud but has a different identity from the time they knew each other before their memories got deleted. They both want to save each other all the time which is so cute and sometimes heartbreaking at the same time, i cried a lot during this drama which, for me, means its a rlly good drama. Another thing that makes it so good for me is that the villian was so unpredictable, i always try to guess who the villian is but this time i was taken by a surprise to know who the real villian is. Which is way better than knowing it for a long time allready cuz that cluld make the drama boring. But that was not the case here! The only thing that could be better is maybe a special episode thats ab 30 min long cuz the ML died for the FL in the last episode but came back in the last few minutes, it doesnt tell how he came back and i would like to see them live a happily ever after life so for that reason a special episode would be great!❤️Was this review helpful to you?

Sweet and playful without the heavy angst (extremely high rewatch value oh my god)
It's very fast paced, sometimes to the point of the various incarnation arcs feeling a bit rushed. I think it probably needed a few more episodes but as is it means you don't linger too long in angst or heartbreak which keeps the tone up.There is also a slapstick comedy aspect to it that I found it a little hard to get past at first. However, that slapstick element is mostly confined to the first third to half of each arc. As you move into the climax and later half of each one it transitions from cartoonish comedy to just the leads being playful and silly with each other.
The actors also have good chemistry.
I've heard some people say that the female lead wasn't as good as the male lead, and I'll concede that her acting in her tragic or melancholy scenes wasn't as impactful. But on the other hand she's really good at the playful, vivacious scenes and those are a lot more common in this drama. When the two leads are being silly and in love together they are a pure joy to watch.
Finally I thought their villain was very solid. Well written, with consistent motivations, a steady escalation pattern that convinces you he's a serious threat to more than just the leads, and a touch of humanity that made you sympathize with the characters who cared about him without ever making you feel bad for the villain himself.
Overall I didn't expect to like it as much as I did, but I really want to rewatch it again.
Edit: OH MY GOD REWATCH IT, YOU MUST REWATCH IT, IT REFRAMES THE WHOLE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS, IT'S SO SUBTLE BUT SO GOOD?!?!

touching
(Source : iQIYI) ~~Was this review helpful to you?
STORY INSIDE A STORY THIS IS THE ONE!!! ???
I love eevrything about this drama, I’m in the middle of drama slump and then I decide to watch this one. This drama yes indeed a bit medium to heavy as the story and plot like there is a story inside a story but it connects to each other and the other story also support how the journey their love blooms. I’m in love with this story. For me it’s the best and the soundtrack is just the best out of the best made the drama even more funny, sad, and excited to see.
So if you are that like a slow developing love, and loce journey this one indeed the best.
Especially with the cast of Ryan Ding and Yang Chao Yue they are so cute together 😍
Hopefully you guys enjoy this drama!

BIG Disappointment
I was looking forward to watching this and had it on my to-watch list for a while. Ultimately I was disappointed. The drama didn't take anything seriously for the first few episodes. It was annoying. These scenes were very stupid-silly with terrible acting - which is strange because these are BRILLIANT actors, so it must be intended that way. Finally the drama was real around episode 8.I think they were aiming for something similar to what Guardians of Dafeng did, a mix of silly and serious. Unlike Guardians of Dafeng which did it perfectly (the silly being a breath of fresh air), Love You Seven Times just got annoying.
I can't keep waiting for the good bits. I dropped it after 10 episodes.
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
(The acting in the more serious scenes of Love You Seven Times was done very well. They are great actors. It's a shame the script didn't give them more chance to shine.)

Infinite Love
I started watching this after I watched Love Game in Eastern Fantasy where Ying Duxi was the ML and Yang Chao Yue from The Double. As always, I didn’t have huge expectations when it comes to watching a new drama, that way it won’t hurt me as much in the end. It started out really cute when their first life together was him being a boar and her being a white tiger. It was a pretty short life so they ended up back in the heavenly realm. I read somewhere online that this was a flop. I disagree, but then again we all have our own opinions and sometimes a bad drama for one person might not be enjoyable to another. We all have different taste buds. Anyway, I enjoyed the leads here. They were really cute together. Except every kissing scene wasn’t a little meh. Not a fan of dead fish kisses, but oh well. The settings, the costumes, the special effects, and OMG the music… I LOVE IT! There are far worse dramas I’ve seen, but this one was okay to me. I just didn’t like how the ending seemed a little rushed. I hate it when there’s only little screen time together after they’ve separated. So disappointing. They need to stop doing this. They left out some things, but I won’t go into detail anymore. The ML was great here, not a doubt. The FL lacked in emotion in some parts. Glad her voice wasn’t like those FL’s in some dramas where their baby voices are just over the top cringe. Overall, it was a decent drama. Was this review helpful to you?

We Were Rooting For You, WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!
Almost two years and 100+ reviews later, I doubt that I have anything new to add to the conversion but let me speak out my thoughts regardless. You can tell it was written by the same author as Cang Lan Jue; in fact it is so similar you can call it a re-imagination of that story, now with tribulations! Let me point out some of the similarities I could catch, off the top of my head.
1. A tribe is shunned by the heavenly realm on the accusation of being demonic — only to later be revealed that it was the heavenly emperor who’s the actual “villain”.
2. Charles Lin’s character awaits the "demonic" tribe’s leader's return.
3. FL is assumed to be a young, naive, weak fairy only to be revealed that she’s actually one of the strongest immortals to live, who has forgotten her real self.
4. ML sacrifices himself at the end to save the FL and the six realms, only to reunite with her in the very last scene of the drama.
So, I think we can safely say the plot is nothing original. Even so, the initial conflict of the prophecy announcing the return of Cang Hai, forcing the ML and FL to go through love tribulations in order to restore his primordial soul DID catch my attention — i binged 12 episodes of this drama in one sitting for crying out loud.
However, the “catch” of the seven lives/tribulations that created the curiousity and novelty for the plot is exactly what broke it in the last ten or so episodes.
The protagonists start off as most WuXia/XianXia leads do, sworning to never love each other. Even with that obvious set up, it was very entertaining to watch them live seven different versions/lives/characters — my favourite still remains Cat Demon Chu Kong, what an aura! But, the tribulation in which they travel back to 30,000 years ago is when it all went down the drain. Insta-love? In the big year of 2023? Yes, I understand the bond through a future perspective where you have lived and died through vairous lives together, but why are you two promising each other infinity when you have known each other for like FIVE DAYS MAX?!
Everything since that subplot started happening with a logic of “because the script says so”. Demon King Chu Kong is to lose his memory of her but he wouldn’t, because the script said so! He would imprison her so she doesn’t get taken away by the emperor, but she would ofcourse easily break the magic because? the script said so! He would enter the void to get her power back, but the “power” would warn him if he does so his soul would be destroyed; he comes back fully fine with little to no injuries because? YOU GUESSED IT! SCRIPT SAID SO! I could go on and on, but it’d be pointless to put in so much effort into the logical reasoning, if the makers didn’t.
I obviously watched this drama for Ding Yuxi — he is easily my favourite actor when it comes to chinese costume dramas. Unfortunately, the praise can not be extended to the rest of the cast. They were mediocre at best, cringey at worst.
One takeaway from this drama though would be the opening title track, you understood my love, instant addition to my spotify!
Most likely would not be rewatching, but *would be* streaming Cat Demon Chu Kong’s edits; send them my way!

Dropped at Episode 15
The lead actress’s performance was one of the biggest letdowns. Her portrayal felt flat and lacked the emotional range. The chemistry between the main leads was almost non-existent. It was hard to connect with either of them or care about their journey. The writing didn’t help either. I found myself fast-forwarding through large sections just to get past the dull, meaningless conversations that added nothing to the plot. No matter how much I tried to push through, I couldn’t stay engaged. By episode 15, I finally gave up and dropped the drama.
