A very good Xianxia with a Ding Yu Xi in one of his best roles
A wuxia series for which I had a lot of trouble immersing myself into because of the resolutely Comedic tone of the 1st episodes and because I don't like the FL at all (nor the actress with her frozen doll face + her mouth, without expression, nor the character)...PLOT:
A little immortal from the Marriage Pavilion is accidentally drawn into a series of 7 love tribulations (in the mortal realm) with the God of War who wants to restore his spiritual Energy, damaged in the past. During these tribulations, they will encounter love rivals, villains, demons thirsting for vengeance, many plots, etc.
Despite my initial reluctance, I let myself get caught up in the plot during the 2nd tribulation (from episodes 8-9?).
+ Story very well written, intelligent, with clues scattered little by little and excellent actors (Ding Yu Xi is, as always, remarkable as ML).
+ Lots of excellent actors who bring their characters to life (well developed).
+ I like the way the director represented the celestial kingdom, very aestheticly pleasing, with great CGI. The production is dynamic, without length, and keeps the viewer in suspense.
+ the OSTs are well suited, without being memorable, but they accompany the action well.
BUT
- Some characters (such as the eldest Red Thread from Marriage Pavilion, in particular) are caricatures. They're probably there to add a touch of humor, but it doesn't work, they're just annoying!
=> A very good Xianxia, of quality, which maintains the suspense well.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why I think is 5 star
I find the show is a five-star because I find some episodes funny. I really enjoy watching their first love tribulations can be traced back to 30,000 years ago! The storylines from the beginning to the end are good. I really like the six characters in the show. I don't like Xiu Ming and Haoxuan. I understand why few people don't like Xiu Ming. I just don't like him in the tribulations even trying to get revenge against Chu Kong. it seems like Xiu Ming has been going through a lot even since 30,000 years ago. After Xiu Ming understood Chu Kong, my feelings of not liking Xiu Ming changed. I was watching Haoxuan with that electric lightning wand makes me hot boiling. I just wish he was hit by it as well! Even though he hurt and killed many people which is unforgivable. His crimes which he didn't admit but blamed on someone else who is evil but he doesn't realize he didn't do anything wrong in the six realms. Haoxuan changed when Chu Kong had a desirable future with someone he cared for and loved 30,000 years ago. The ending of the beginning was sad. It was sad when Chu Kong gave Xiang Yun his messages with he told her to live well, take a good look at the world for him, and maybe one day they will meet again, and he called her his dear wife which was touching and made me sad. The ending was a happy ending!ALL full episodes of Love You Seven Times Chinese Drama Show with English Subtitles are free found on the IQIYI website. The jewellery and wigs had all my attention (sorry)
All I have to say I really liked all of the seven lives, especially the animated one! There’s a clear connection and causation between all and in each, the cast have distinct enough costuming to differentiate. And all of them SLAY! Especially the male lead’s! I am sooo envious of his jewellery and his wig stylist loved him cuz it just got better and better with episodes. The whole cast were good and I didn’t feel like skipping the side stories, they all were important to the plot and interesting. Ding Yuxi really shined in this show, give me 20 more episodes of his cat demon persona NOW!Was this review helpful to you?

Love the outifts, the characters, and the concept.
While both Ding Yu X and Yang Chao Yue played all their characters to the T, Ding Yu X is a pro. They both also looked great in all the life times they shared together. Except for Chu Kong's standoffishness after the couple's first love tribulation together, he was pretty decent to the FL. They also had good chemistry. We got to see so much of their lives as Lu Chang Kong & Song Xiang Yun that I had hoped, we could have gotten more details about the other life times as well. The ending was also too rushed and just not enough closure for us who sat through all these lifetimes.
Except for the first tribulation where Xiu Ming practically engineered their sad fates, his characters mellowed down and didn't do much damage. There was too much wasted potential there.

A Dreamy Fantasy Romance! & Visually Stunning
I absolutely love Ding Yuxi in this series! His portrayal in "Love You Seven Times" is so charming and heartfelt, it truly makes all the anticipation worth it. The chemistry between the leads feels very natural, and the story keeps you hooked from start to finish. What stands out the most is the cinematography – everything looks dreamy and pastel, with gorgeous visuals that are simply pleasing to the eye. The costumes and the set designs are beautiful, and the whole vibe just makes you want to keep watching. Highly recommended if you're into fantasy romance dramas! Was this review helpful to you?
An enjoyable watch, but not primarily because of the story
This series does offer a lot of romantic plotlines one can gush to, but the writing is one of its weaker points, often feeling like it's being written as the story plays out, trying to revise and connect certain points with some success. While it's nice to see how Chu Kong and Xiangyun's fates echo across every lifetime through details such as crabapple flowers, the Xun musical instrument, red threads and marriage temples, the whole thing doesn't feel as solid as I would have liked, with some arcs and details feeling like afterthoughts (*cough* Zihui, Ming Yue *cough*), but it's better than most dramas I've watched in terms of pacing. It didn't drag on too much, and so heightens its rewatchability. The balance of tragedy, romance, and lighthearted fun is also done well. I would like to highlight the animal arc: it had me laughing so much, but it's also really sweet that the tiger and the boar became one of their motifs throughout the series. The acting, production, and music definitely carried the drama to a new height. For acting: Ding Yuxi in particular is all kinds of excellent in every role-- mischievous being, cold immortal, tragic hero, further magnified by his breathtaking costuming and styling (convinced that the stylists love him a lot). He's meticulous in his body language and expressions, especially as the cat demon. Props also to Yang Chaoye (Xiangyun/Cang Hai etc.); she looks so cute but she's also able to act out 'powerful empress'/'demonic-aura princess', as well as capture the mannerisms of Chu Kong in the body-swap arc. She's a dynamic actress who manages to match and complement Ding Yuxi. In general, the main cast are actually so good in playing different roles in a single drama, they worked hard! (Shout-out to the Qianren and Qian Mou brotherhood in the Shengling Sect arc.)
For production: I have so much love for the costume designers and hair and make-up artists, and I hope they got paid really, really well for this series, because they have made a work of art in every outfit and look. I'm pretty sure they asked themselves, "How do I make this character the prettiest character ever" and just went absolutely wild. My absolute favorites are: Chu Kong and Xiangyun's demon looks (this is a given, iconic really), Chu Kong's General outfits in the body-swap/Princess and General arc as well as his God of War outfits (the pieces of armor fused with flowing fabric, the color layering, the gold qilin details, wow), Jin Luo's witch-doctor outfit (she's so pretty....), and every version of Xiangyun's eye make-up throughout the series. As for the special effects and set designs, while some of it are a bit awkward, grade A for setting the right ambiance and providing a feast for the eyes.
The soundtrack is absolutely lovely as well. In particular, Faye's "Love Only" must have been played more than 40 times (in the title credits and in the drama itself), but it gives me goosebumps every single time.
Overall, Love You Seven Times is a decadent work, a story that's a bit weak in the knees but helped up by a good cast and amazing production. It's able to give laughter and heartache, and so much beauty.

In this drama you can certainly tell that they spent a lot of money and time into it. The props and costuming looks really elegant and nice and the cg effects are beautiful. The color might be a bit too flashy and pastel for me though. Another point is the drama does very well with the plot. It was really easy to identify and uderstand. I like how the point of the story is they have 7 lifetimes but they accidentally discover the conspiracies of what actually happened.I have an issue with the casting. Ding Yuxi is the only person who actually has experience and is fit for role. He has the ability to pull off minor expressions and he’s fit into the style. Yang Chaoyue, I can’t really say the same. Her acting in this drama was way better the “The Journey of Chong Zi”. But even if it was better, her acting skills are still very poor. Her crying scene’s look really fake and forced. Especially during her begging science in her 2nd life to release Lu Changkong, I couldn’t feel the sadness and her expressions were really bad.

Lovely chemistry with a cute plot!
As soon as, I saw the drama posters, I immediately decided to give a try for this one and It was WORTH it! The story-line was quite solid, with a strong chemistry between leads. Acting were decent, and everyone did a great job portraying their characters. Even though most audience were complaining about the DYX's screentime, I don't have much problem with it( may be because I'm not a fan of any cast here ), the side-story were pretty enjoyable too. YCY's acting also improved a lot compare to her other dramas, so it was a nice, sweet and fun watch. I was really satisfied with the ending too, the only complaint I had is the CGI and some effects, in some flash back scenes it looks like they made in Powerpoint transitions! 😭Overall a nice watch + As You Wish: Love You Seven Times was funny & entertaining too!

One of the Healthiest Relationships in Xianxia Drama!
PROs:• Casting: The casting was spot-on. Every actor played their role really well. I especially liked the FL– she’s naturally pretty and cute, and she fit the role perfectly. The ML, Ding Yu Xi, was also a fantastic choice. He starts off looking cold and distant but gradually shows a much warmer and more affectionate side as the story unfolds.
• Plot: A unique and touching love story that spans several lifetimes. I was initially worried there might be too many separate storylines that don’t connect, but that wasn’t the case at all. The plot included well-placed twists that played out differently than I expected– in a good way. There were no major plot holes or unanswered questions at the end. Even the villain was smart with clear, believable motives.
• Love Story: The relationship between the ML and FL is genuinely healthy– no unnecessary breakups or misunderstandings. They share lots of cute moments, and their relationship develops naturally and beautifully.
CONs:
• Soundtrack: Sometimes a bit too loud, repetitive, or slightly annoying (personal preference).
• Kissing Scenes: Could have been more passionate– the chemistry wasn’t as strong as it could and should have been
• Secondary Couple: Their relationship could have been explored more; it felt a bit rushed.
• CGI: Not bad, but nothing special either.
Overall – Should You Watch?
If you’re looking for a romantic Xianxia drama with a truly healthy relationship and a heartfelt story, Love You Seven Times is absolutely worth watching– you won’t regret it!

Personal Rating : 9/10
Ryan Ding / Ding Yuxi as Demon King is ❤️🐱
Love You Seven Times is a Chinese Xianxia drama about the love story between the God of War and a Fairy with seven interconnected and parallel lives together.
I love every tribulations they been through.. and my favorite is the THIRD TRIBULATION -- ShengLing Sect --. I love how she cant live without Chu Kong even without her memories of heavenly realm and love the friendship of the 4 of them in this Sect.
Every tribulation is satisfying and Ryan Ding gave a top notch performance on this. He embodied the different characters in different tribulations. This is the first time I watch the FL Yang Chaoyue so I can't say much about her but her acting skills here are okay to me unlike the ones that I read that she is not good in acting.
Honestly, I watched this because I like Ryan Ding from Romance of Tiger and Rose and this drama show another great acting of Ryan Ding, his acting here is way more better than ROTR. 😍
Overall, LYSV on is on my re-watched list. I think I watched this more than 3 times already. 😁 It is a romantic comedy with happy ending.
Which Tribulation is your favorite?
1st Tribulation -- Boar & Tiger (both have memories)
2nd Tribulation -- Lu Changkong & Xiangyun ( Xiangyun have memories)
3rd Tribulation -- Chu Kong "Sheng Ling Sect" & Xiao Xiang ( Chukong have memories)
4th Tribulation -- Chu Kong "General" & Xiangyun ( both have memories )
5th Tribulation -- Chu Kong & Canghai ( both drink the river of forgetfulness )
6th Tribulation -- Chu Kong "Demon King" & Xiangyun ( both have memories)
7th Tribulation / Life -- Ruyi & Jixian ( both have memories )The costumes and CGIs are really great!
OST -- Only Love by Faye -- is amazing.. I got hooked immediately and search the singer then I came to know she sang the OST of Love Between Fairy and Devil too.. 💕
GENRE -- Romantic Comedy with Happy Ending drama
ACTOR -- Ding Yuxi , Yang Chaoyue

I may forget myself, but I will never forget you. ~~Chu Kong
Let me start by stating that LBFAD was the one and only drama that I rewatched every single year because I could never get tired of it, and I hardly thought that there would be a drama out there to give me the same comfort LBFAD did through every part. And this was definitely the one that I'm glad I didn't ignore in my plan-to-watch list.I came to LY7T for Ding Yuxi, and I really got a lot more than what I expected. The CGI, OSTs, SIZZLING HOT CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THE LEADS, and of course, the amazing cast made me enjoy every damn scene in every damn episode. The best and foremost parts:
--THE 7 AMAZING LIVES
before watching, I heard a lot of complains that all the lives became a drag for many watchers, but I loved every life till the end, even though I knew each one would end the same way with someone or both tragically dying. Each and every life was amazing and special in their own way, and there were many surprises and twists along the way. The most hilarious one was the princess-general one because (MAJOR SPOILER) the leads swap bodies in that life, and I could really get used to it in Jiu Lu Fei Xiang's books. The most romance-circled one was when they went back 30,000 years to find out the truth. I am a SUCKER for romance and that one had the best and most satisfying kisses.
--THE LEADS
I could never imagine the leads as anyone else except for Ding Yuxi and Yang Chaoyue. They both applied their roles extremely well whenever they had to change personalities and act differently. They especially nailed the body swap by acting like each other frr. And Ding Yuxi's role as Lu Changkong in the second tribulation as a lovesick youth was adorable and hilarious, especially when he came to that after acting all-serious in the heaven realm a few episodes before. The FL's role as a cute disciple in the fourth tribulation was really cute. She was pretty good and always planning, not useless like I heard form some watchers.
--THE OST
Chen Tian needs some kind of award for composing all these beautiful songs because I loved every single one of the OSTs, which I rarely even expect from myself. I'm STILL listening to them
1. Only Love ~ Faye
2. Till the End of Time ~ Liu Yuning
3. Grief Record ~ A-Lin
4. Yearner ~ Hu Xia
5. Nothing To Do With Love ~ LaLa Hsu
6. Raining Everyday ~ Basanyao Orchastra
7. Break Through ~ Li Changchao
8. Heart Size ~ Ye Xuanqing
9. Time is Speechless ~ Yu Chaoying
10. Aftertaste ~ Shan Yichun
--THE COSTUMES
I have a habit of obsessively sketching the posters of my currently favorite drama, and I really noticed all the amazing hairdos, accessories, CHU KONG'S ARMORRR OMGGG, and all the costumes. I also loved how each life was symbolized differently, with the pig and tiger always kept as the main symbol.
Something I didn't like? XIU MING. Just Xiu Ming, though. They even made the main villain with every plot detail and conspiracy, and ofc every drama needs that perfect villain.
I could fr put the rewatch value 1000000/10 if MDL let me. Say I'm exaggerating, but this is the only drama that ever came to level with LBFAD for me. Coming here every year to rewatch nowww~~~
