Absolute garbage. go read the novel instead.

when i heard there was a live action of ORV, i was definitely interested. i had high hopes for it since ORV the novel and the adapted manhwa were both beautiful and i loved them both. However, after learning more about this live action, to say i'm disappointed is a huge understatement. What do you mean Dokja hated TWSA? it saved his life. What do you mean Yoo Sangah is a healer? she was put back in the misogynistic stereotypes she fought so hard against and that entirely ruins her character. What do you mean Dokjas favorite TWSA character was jung heewon? Jung heewon didnt even appear in the original TWSA. Yoo joonghyuk, who plays an incredibly major role in ORV, has been reduced to a more supporting character in this trash live action. dont watch it, i would never recommend it and for it to even share a name with ORV is practically a disgrace to the original omniscient readers viewpoint. if you're interested in the story, i'd highly suggest reading the light novel online, purchasing it in stores, or reading the manhwa adaption on Webtoon or something of the like. either way, it's far better than this terrible live action.

This is the worst they ruined a masterpiece

I would like to express my deep disappointment regarding the recent adaptation, which, in my opinion, does not reflect the essence of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint (ORV) at all. With all due respect to the cast whom I genuinely admire my frustration lies not with their performances, but with the way the adaptation has significantly altered the source material.
ORV is a beloved masterpiece, cherished by many readers, myself included. I first encountered this novel during my first year of high school, and now, as a college student, it continues to hold a special place in my heart. To see such a treasured story transformed beyond recognition is truly disheartening.
The extensive changes made in the adaptation stray so far from the original plot and characterizations that it no longer feels like ORV in any meaningful sense. It would have been more appropriate to present this project as a separate, original story rather than labeling it an adaptation of ORV. Calling it such does a disservice to the original work and its devoted fanbase. Watching the trailer left me feeling disillusioned and upset. This adaptation lacks the heart and integrity of the novel we came to love. I sincerely hope that future productions will treat the source material with the respect and authenticity it deserves.

This Is Not Omniscient Reader. This Is an Insult

I don’t know who this adaptation was made for, but it certainly wasn’t for fans of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint. This movie feels like someone skimmed the Wikipedia summary of the story and decided, “Yeah, I’ll make a movie out of that.” Zero depth, zero emotional payoff, zero respect for the source material.

Kim Dokja—one of the most complex, layered, emotionally rich protagonists ever written—is reduced to a bland, confused side character in his own story. The plot is butchered beyond recognition. Important arcs are skipped, relationships are flattened, and the entire thing feels like a rushed cash grab riding on the name.

And don’t even get me started on the pacing, the cringe dialogue, and how they tried to condense 500+ chapters of brilliance into a soulless 2-hour mess.

If you care at all about the manhwa or webnovel, skip this. And if you’ve already seen it and felt the same disappointment? Give it a 1-star rating. Loudly. This kind of lazy, shallow adaptation deserves to flop

Ts is garbage

It's not even the actors that are the problem here (idk any of them and its my first time here lol)

The changes are too much, and it sucks ass. Nothing is salvaging this flop adaptation. I've heard about all the changes they made to the movie, and it's enough for me to know that it's THAT bad.

First of all, they made KDJ too OOC, He's not some goody two shoes that wants to save the world. In the early chapters of ORV, it was established that KDJ wants to get an ending that he wants. He does not give a fuck about intentionally saving anyone that he doesn't know or care about or if they aren't useful to him, ppl just get saved in the process when he does smth. I was told that he just hates the novel TWSA, You mean the literal novel he's been reading for 13 years? The novel that literally save his life?? what the fuck. WHY IS HE A MURDERER AND A BULLY????

They also changed the TWSA novel's protag from YJH to JHW, I love my girl JHW, but she wasn't even in the novel, KDJ didn't even know who she was at the beginning, and also the movie removed her trauma as a SA victim?? Wow, like it wasn't a major part of her character. YSA was changed to be a healer when she literally does anything but healing?? Talk about misogyny, just because she's a woman, she's supposed to be the healer? We already have LSH for that.

Don't even get me started with LSK, she was changed and got turned into a sick mother who's getting taken care of by her son when she's supposed to be in prison for standing up for herself and killing her abusive husband. What the fuck happened to that?! We aren't even gonna get the mother and son beef that I love. Absolute Trash, Just read the Novel

ONE OF THE WORST ADAPTATIONS OUT THERE

This LA was made by stripping away the soul, message, complexity, themes and symbolism of the beloved Novel ORV
It's sooo bad! As an adaptation it has so no similarities to the story expect for the names of the character and a little bit of power system, the characters are absolutely butchered!!
Goated KDJ's character, traits, skills and backstory is ineptly adapted, made him a saint, a fccking saint?? When he's clearly a morally grey character
Orvla kdj is stupid, idiotic, impulsive and perpetrator who indirectly caused someone's demise, hes all panicking before YJH and in 1st scenario like be frr reading a novel for 10yrs and u didnt think of it before? Where is his calmness, smart, calculative, strategic thinking? His snarky and annoying traits? His quick thinking?
YJH doesnt even feel like protagonist, him using guns is sooo dumb he's regressed multiple times so ofc he would know guns are useless, why does he have multiple swords? Why is his screentime less?
Ysh is a healer why? In novel YSH is kind but ruthless when wanted, understanding but can be dangerous, she is empathetic, has high emotional intelligence, has good ppl and managing skills, is veryy smart! Highly intelligent, a hardworker, knows multiple languages, has historical knowledge,
Ntm Making her a healer through adriadne's web is sooo unnecessary, she is not lee seolhwa!!
Jhw has two daggers?? Even tho she knows kendo and has sword in novel? Why remove the implied S.A. scene in movie? Afraid to piss off Korean men? Srsly? Also made Kim Dokja's mom Lee Sookyung a widow? Instead a women who is a survivor of domestic abuse?
We can see who this movie is made for
Jihye, well im tired of complaining bout the drastic changes made to her character w her not being her bratty self, having a gun when she should be having a sword with Yi Sunshin as her constellation, speciality in sea/ocean battles omfg.... i just cant
Not a single character done good in this la, even Lee hyunsung, Lee gilyoung, Gong pildu, cheon inho have flaws and dont make sense with the novel
Even as a movie, this is so bad, cuz orvla kdj's personality doesnt make sense, dumb director is trying to potray him as saviour of world? As a saint but wasnt he the one to indirectly cause the demise of other kid?
The CGI is cheap cuz the budget was spent on the actors

Promoting this LA which is unfortunately an adaptation of a beloved novel ORV whose themes are clearly against AI and Capitalism - it was a turn off for the fandom is who very much against the use of AI

Other themes of LOVE is also potrayed with flaws, the relationship between Tls123 and Kim Dokja is ruined, Kim dokja and Yoo joonghyuk dont have kuch chemistry and screentime together
The love kim dokja has for twsa is also ruined by this good for nothing LA
HE LOVES TWSA! Why would he say the novel is worst to tls123?
WHERE THE HELL IS HAN SOOYOUNG good thing she isnt here, her character would be butchered too

Another theme being feminism, well ofc SK would be pissed off with this theme haha
YSH being burdened with her family telling her to marry, her being the target of sexual assault in the male dominated workplace, ended up giving her the "healer" skill which is usually given to wome cuz they cant apparently be intelligent and use weapons and more skillfull than a man
Jung heewon almost being graped, they erased it
And how dare jihye receive the blessings of yi sunshin a historical figure??? A teen girl, a girl! receiving his stigma? And use swords? Ofc they removed it Haha
Lee sookyung not being a survivor of domesic abuse but being a widow says a lot

THE DISRESPECT

disrespect to the original source, to the fandom, and to the story.
KIM DOKJA WOULD NEVER SAY THAT HIS FAVORITE NOVEL IS THE WORST!

they changed so much about the story and weapons. this can't be called an adaptation, this is the director's not-so-fan fiction. we can't (fans) even describe how disappointed we are. if only we can rate it to -1000000/10.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT!

as an original orv fan, this is such a disappointment. it’s not that orv fans hate your faves — it’s just that the way the director RUINED the original work (the novel) is beyond frustrating. HE RUINED THE WHOLE LORE OF ORV. we’re angry because this adaptation completely disrespects the heart of the story and characters. i said what i said, COMPLETELY!

i’m sorry, but this is one of the worst adaptations i’ve ever seen. it’s NOT THE REAL omniscient reader’s viewpoint.

Absolutely garbage

Completely misses the point of the source novel. Deliberately made changes to the storyline to remove necessary plot lines while the few that remained got bastardised,
Feels like the creators took it upon themselves to make the worst live action adaptation of a novel in SK history.
Just read the novel or webtoon instead and and you'll understand how utterly disrespectful this joke of a movie is.

not worth the watch even as a standalone movie.

From the beginning we knew that they would screw up the adaptation and won't be faithful to the original novel. But they didn't even try to make it look or sound good.

The script? Terrible.
The graphics? Cheap.
The plot/story? It's all over the place.
The acting? Awkward.

Even as a standalone movie they didn't bother to even try to explain the story's universe/setting. It will be so damn confusing to anyone who watches it.

If you wanted a cool action movie, atleast do it properly. This is just a poorly executed nonsense. Wouldn't recommend at all. If you are actually interested maybe give the original novel a try cause this story is one of the best fiction ever.

LA that sit on same table as AOT LA and Drangon Ball LA

I’m SCREAMING. WTF is this?! It'd like the director read half the source material, said “nah,” and decided to yeet the soul of sNs masterpiece into the void. They changed SO MUCH, and I’m not okay! Kim Dokja deserves better, and this mess is sitting at the same cursed table as the Attack on Titan and Dragon Ball Evolution LA!! Let’s talk about how they fumbled this bag and why it’s giving the same vibes as those other disasters.First off, WHY THE HELL are they giving everyone GUNS?! Like, are you kidding me? They’re out here handing Hee Won daggers like she’s in an Avengers flick and giving Lee Hyeon-seong some high-tech gauntlet nonsense. And don’t get me started on Yoo Joonghyuk’s sword looking like it was forged in a sci-fi lab. This ain’t the apocalyptic struggle we signed up for! It’s like they saw the Attack on Titan live-action films and thought Let’s copy their homework and make it flashy but soulless. This is not My ORV!!!!!

A complete butchering of Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint

This adaptation is a disgrace.
They erased everything that made Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint powerful. Kim Dokja — a quiet, broken soul — is now a bully who hates the book that saved him? Yoo Sangah — one of the strongest female characters — reduced to a passive healer? Misogyny and lazy writing at its worst.

Made-up characters, ignored lore, terrible casting, and not even the hair or height of both the characters was done right. The writers and director clearly never understood (or cared about) the original. This isn’t an adaptation. It’s a complete betrayal.

Arrogant

The audacity of the director to ask why the writer is pwaised but not him. You ruined this perfect making it a shitshow. This story jas no depth in it. Everyone is the story is selfish and ruthless killer. It was not properly stated how this story started and how will the protagonist save the world. What a pathetic protagonist!! The actors acting was trash. Even a kid can act better. This movie was meant to sponsor the actors through the name of the most popular novel. They thought novel fans will support them no matter how the adaption turns out. How arrogant!!!
