Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1

星汉灿烂 ‧ Drama ‧ 2022
they are both simillar in the sense that both ml are in military position and both the fls were abandoned by their family for 10 years. both have two ml after the fl but in fall in love the ml and fl work together then fall in love. both are period dramas and both have some sense of comedy. just in this show the fl step mum and sister are evil kinda similar with how fl in lltg had other girls plot evil things after her. overall acting and storyline is great and it is a very underrated show :) check it out

If you liked LLGT then you will definitely like the lighter & princess. Even though they have different genre and plot but chemistry and tension between lead is same. Li Xun and Ling Buyi are very much similar, they both love their FL to the point they can do anything for them but at the same time hide many things from them for their safety. Zhu Yun and Cheng ShaoShang also have many similarities, they are headstrong and can fight with anyone for their love, they both support their partner selflessly. They both have mothers who try to take control of their life and supporting father. SML in both drama are reliable friend for them after separation in drama.

Complex story of innocence and revenge. How tragedy affects even those who stay at home. War and Officialdom. Cause and effect on people. Love story mixed in between.

- the leads are both extremely intelligent and the only ones who can outsmart each other.
- the female lead is also the daughter of a famous general in the army and the male lead is a smart and powerful captain in the army.
- the chemistry between the leads is top-notch. they’ll give you all the feels
- the costumes are beautiful and the scenography is captivating. i loved how the used the lights and there’re some beautiful scenes with fireflies and lanterns.
- the OSTs are beautiful and on point.
- the story is captivating, full of plot twists and with no plot holes.
- the mom of LLTG’s FL here acts as the previous crown princess.
- I’d rewatch it over and over again

I suggest watching The Rebel Princess if you enjoyed LLTG.
Both have:
- Cerebral plots
- Good cinematography, set design, OST, costumes, and overall production value
-Serious tension between ML and FL (total power couple)
-Strong, stoic, and feared General (who's a total softy for his woman)
-Small but fiercely intelligent and resourceful FL
-Palace politics (Rebel Princess is more palace politics heavy than LLTG).

Both FMLs mother and father do not treat their daughter's rights.

In NGNL, FML parents always take in children, in foster care. This results in not taking care of their own daughter and if you ask me it's pretty obvious that the daughter hates that her parents dont care about her because they are constantly spending time, with the foster kids. And it's not a one-time thing either, but a constant one, when one foster child leaves another one is brought in. This makes her dislike the kids as well because they are taking her parents away. Although I understand that fostering and giving a roof over the heads of children is good, not paying attention to your child makes it no good. No point tbh. Even if the parents have a lot of love in their hearts for their child, there is no point because on the outside the lowkey abandoned her. Its basically giving -- you live under my roof, I cook, clean, and give you clothes and money so I'm doing everything a parent should SO ME NOT mentally taking care of you, not watching you, not talking to you, not asking about school, not nagging out you should not be a problem.

Similarly in LLTG, the parents of FML abandon their child at 3 years to fight war. They took all her other siblings with them but left her behind with her calculating grandma and aunt. For the next 15 years, her parents are in the war, neglecting her and her grandma and aunt treat her like a rat. They dont give her good food, clothes, or a place to stay, BTW her dad is the provider for the whole family so technically they should treat her like a princess to stay in good with her dad. But they dont obviously. They even sent her to some old house in the suburbs, where she has one maid, more like a sister and a nanny/house help. This nanny takes all the money does not give 2 shits about FML, and gives her bad food, clothing, etc. One day the war ends so her parents send a letter that they are coming back. The grandma sends for her to come back. She ends up coming in at the same time as her parents. The grandma lies about FML being bad and to teach her a lesson they send her to the countryside. Although FML tries to refute her parents dont take her seriously. Now that her parents are back you'd think they'd shower her with love but they dont especially the mother. She treats he daughter like a soldier that's gone stray, has no discipline, and instead gives more love to the calculating aunt's daughter. They dont understand that she's been on her for 15 years but treat her all garbage.

In both dramas, the female leads have scheming relatives from which the female leads have to protect themselves.

Both dramas share the same screenwriter and give off similar vibes, at least from what we can see with Zhu Yu's trailer

They are so similar. Like I don't wanna get deep so i'll just surface the similarities.
the ml is only breathing for fl
both are historical drama and occur during a war
Both main leads don't have guardians and are close to the royals
and yes both has season 2
there are many other similarities but it might be a spoiler so i'll keep my lips tight for now.

Both give similar synergy and chemistry throughout. Despite the similarity both have their own unique color and story.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOTH!!

Two of the best historical dramas, the acting was brilliant and the story is kinda simple in New Life Begins compared to Love like the galaxy but still it has the same impact on me because both dramas were not mainly focused on the ml and fl but showed everyone's story and it was hard for me to complete both of them .

--The clothing and hairstyles are the same.
--Similar social background and rules.
-- Good tension between the FL and ML
-- Just recommend the first half of this drama (EP1-about EP22 ) because they follow the novel
-- Novel adapted drama (author Ma Boyong with other works like ' Luo Yang')

Despite the difference in plots, both dramas are slower paced, slow burn romances, and focus on families with a very large cast of characters. Both FLs are determined and strong-minded, both MLs fall in love at the start and slowly win the FL's heart. The tone and pacing feels similar, too.
