Episode Title: Expelled
As an act of good faith, Qiao Man gives the Panyi seal to Wei Shao, only for him to throw her out of Xindu. Her caravan is then rescued by her cousin and former betrothed, Liu Yan, and they travel to Panyi together. Once there, Liu Yan wants to renew their betrothal but restricts her movements for her own safety. Once Wei Shao finds out that Qiao Man had gone to Panyi with Liu Yan, he and his army soon follow with the intent to kill them both. But, Qiao Man finds out that Liu Yan intends to flood Xindu by blowing up an old dam, so she thwarts his plans in order to save the innocent people of Xindu.

The Prisoner of Beauty Episode 3 Reactions
An extremely event-filled episode. This one had by far the most 'action' so far, starting with the FL getting impulsively expelled from Xindu by the ML and as a consequence having to take multiple decisive actions in order to prevent tragedy, including saving the ML's army from disaster. The ending of the episode is particularly dramatic and emotional - in part on purpose by the FL as she has to really hammer home how bad the consequences of the one bad decision by the ML could have been. The ML has a lesser role in this episode other than his initial, revenge-fueled, impulsive decision to expel her, and then later, his show of actual concern for her safety and more subtly, his remorse for his impulsive earlier decision. He seems definitely chastised and this should mark a distinct change in their relationship.
This episode also introduces someone (her cousin & former fiancé') to play the classic 3rd-wheel-on-the-bicycle, 'other guy' in the form of a classic, self-absorbed, obsessive stalker type who confuses past friendship with love. This trope character is extremely popular in asian romance dramas and apparently this series is not immune to using it. I hope they don't spend TOO much time on him, though.
The FL learns in this episode that she misread just how deep the ML's hatred still is ingrained in him and that was a dangerous mistake. The ML learns that his impulsive, hate-fueled decisions can have disastrous consequences. He has to be a good leader in peace as well as combat. He also learns that she has real value as someone who will make smart choices that benefit him.
And notably, the episode closes with Qiao Man Man making a distinct choice of Wei Shao (for a variety of reasons) over a (superficially) safer, ostensibly allied suitor (the cousin).

Qiao Man is the true hero here. Wei Shao has some good plans, but he's to harsh and hasty when he executes them. I really hope Qiao Man can get some relief.
Poor girl is tricked by her intended and expelled. Only to be kidnapped by her old finace. Who has horrid intentions. I felt for her when she realized just how evil he was. To use her people as nothing more than bait and willing to kill them in mass. For him to say after the marriage their his people too and he'd care. Yeah right.

Manman is so cute, I really like her character, she s smart, cunning, and sharp, dhe can catch onto the politics matter too, I like female leads like these. And not forgetting about Wei Shao, totally fascinating character, The Lord of Wei and his four Generals all are so funny, He'll be in love with her soon.

The scene where Liu Yan's engagement gift didn't include a lynx was hilarious. I'm always amazed by Xiao Qiao's perfect plan for every problem. I really wanted Wei Shao to know that Xiao Qiao started the fire, and he did. I hope Wei Shao's thoughts about Xiao Qiao change a little bit and he appreciates Xiao Qiao 😻 The last scene was very exciting and ended on the spot 😭😭😭😭

Wei Shao kicks Qiao Man out of Xindu. She realizes she needs to change her strategy and heads to Panyi. On the way her ex fiancé shows up to rescue her. Her attempt at being in tearful distress😂 I thought he really liked her and just the dad an arrogant ass. But as he laid out his plans for Panyi, his ambition was made clear. He treated Qiao Man like a prisoner and forbade the mayor from speaking to her. She realized his ambition was built on using her family name and holdings. Any respect she might have had for him definitely departed as he laid out his plans to flood Xindu. That he would let innocents suffer and die was more than she could take. She escaped and set fire to the sulphur containers. It caused a lot of damage for the city but their plans made this happen. As Wei Shao’s men reported back he found out what really happened and saw the crappy wedding gifts. I think he saw a bit of what her life was really like. The mayor backed up all their claims. He confirmed the elopement was a lie; that she had been kept a prisoner and the plan to flood Xindu. It also seems Qiao Man dreams prophetic dreams. She pays attention to them and changes things. She has saved the people of Xindu, but Wei Shao’s brother is determined to follow the original order to kill Qiao Man and increase morale. The arrow has been launched and to see what is fated for Qiao Man.
