Good Boy was good.
I Think the story needs more development,it is fresh but still it had many lagging issues especially that triangle love, I felt that wasn't in need for the story.I liked the OST from this series, I wish they release that soon. Cast was perfect, they all put there 100 percentage in it.I don't think there might be a season 2 but I expect a little cuz they show a tail end. If they improve the story a bit more write the second season then It would be great.I want to thank the villain cuz he was comedian in his last series too but here he is Wonderful villain and even I felt that killing spirit 😹 Park Bo Gum as usual acted Soo good but I don't think as good as When Life Gives You Tangerines. Was this review helpful to you?

Expected More
I think this show started off really good and with this cast I expected a fantastic show, like the actors they got in this?? Incredible! But the story fell short, the second half of the show was dragging the story so much it became so repetitive. It was Good Boy getting beat up, bad guy running away, planning to catch him again, then Good Boy getting beat up…the story had so much potential but they dulled it up in the end. Also, wished we didn’t know who the bad guy was until the last episodes like he was a seemingly normal dude so could’ve added so much more suspense to the story if we didn’t know it was him.
And the romance…I don’t agree with those that say the romance didn’t have a place in the story because it did, it was just so awkward from the FL. The ML was really going for it with the kisses and how much he liked her but she was not giving him the same energy at all, the kiss scenes made me cringe so much like Bogum was giving it for those kisses and she seemed so uncomfortable with it, it lacked a lot they could’ve made a really nice love story it’s a shame.
In conclusion, I think it’s worth the watch (if you like/stand the bast amount of violence) but it does leave you with a bittersweet feeling, the cast is so incredible but the story didn’t match to their level.

Go Hard or Go Home !!
Starring Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun, Good Boy is a story of group of Olympic players, who are now part of police force through a special recruitment program. The drama is a blend of humour, action and romance. A group of police force forms a unit to catch a criminal mastermind that has every person under his control. The cast and the premise is promising, however with some flaws.
The premise is well-built but the episodes felt too stretched out, the characters are well written but feels one dimensional at times. The action choreography is very good and keeps you hooked to the screen. Oh Jung Se as the antagonist is the show stealer. His facial expressions and dialogue delivery was commendable. The romance scenes between the ML and FL were a little more than required. The production is good and many scenes are creatively shot.
The plot is fairly straightforward. Money + Greed = Corruption. Crime pays -> do more crime. Our team are earnest but they are mostly incidental heroes. The police is inept most of the time and is always one step behind. Hence the need for our Band of Misfits.
Overall, Good Boy is a good cop action drama that blends action and humour. Although it's far away from being a great show, it's a fun-to-watch drama that will entertain you for sure.
My Rating : 7.5/10

When Gold Medals Turn into Police Badges
So Good Boy starts off like, “Hey, look at these national heroes!” and then boom next scene they’re cops?? Like huh?? Apparently winning medals = automatic police training now. Olympic Games? More like Hunger Games.Park Bo Gum is out here playing Mr. Morals, but let’s be real—his trauma arc feels like it was written by ChatGPT on low battery. Kim So Hyun shows up all mysterious, pretty solid chemistry, but nothing mind-blowing yet.
Plot? Mid. Idea? Wild. Logic? Missing. But it’s kind of entertaining ngl, if you shut off your brain and just enjoy hot people chasing bad guys with trauma and a stopwatch.
Visuals? Gorgeous. Action? Smooth. Soundtrack? Eh, not stuck in my head but fine.
Overall: Not deep, kinda dumb, but lowkey fun. Might keep watching just to see how unhinged it gets.

Honest Review
such a stressful unrealistic BS action drama. the action scenes choreography was great, but story is so dragging. started off ok, but got boring. i love the actors, but the direction/production of their characters are so poor. all fight and no brains. i hated the villain. but i hate the main characters more having no common sense specially if they are considered "detectives". no exit plans. imagine going into fight with no backup plan at all. just plain stupid courage makes them just over-acting actors. i just wanted it to be done. Was this review helpful to you?

The "FANTASTIC FIVE , RIU AND THE TWO CAMP GUYS "
DONG JU : " A king never dies until he crushes his enemies."This drama could have been 12 episodes long and could have been loved by a vast audience I agree with my friends that this drama had a lot of repetitive scenes, which made it lose its excitement in the final episodes. This drama turned into a circus with stunt scenes that I genuinely appreciated the actors for performing, and with the background music, it was a great watch. "I'll be first on the table when it's dinner time" is still stuck in my head with the tune while writing this review. Honest opinion: you can easily skip a lot of scenes and still feel like you haven't missed a single moment.
now lets talk about positive points :
The villains were truly villainous. They were so well-crafted that I actually felt bad for them when the good guys defeated them. Except for the one with the knife and long hair—I couldn’t stand him. aAnd that ex-coach, bro, I really wanted to beat him badly.y
and Yep, the Drugmon and the Russian boss chief kiss.
Let’s talk about the more positive aspects, like how the villains were not easily defeated because they had an entire network backing them. That’s the most significant point—how can you defeat someone who spent years building such an intricate system?
like in study group the villian were easily defeated it was boring to watch .
The whole show felt unrealistic because the GOOD BOY surviving was a MIRACLE .
CREDITS :
And the Five Fantastics—chef's kiss. The way they support their teammates and the bromance between Dong Ju and Jeong Hyun, it was everything, so much so that the romance between Ji Hana and Dong Ju fell short.
Lastly, "The Riu Captain"—bro, without the Riu, what could the Five Fantastics have even done?
The bald guy and the one who looks like he's from some intelligence agency absolutely deserved a whole sentence in capital letters.
The Russian man who passed away and leaked secrets to both sides played a helpful role in solving mysteries.
The most unfavorable aspects:
There were advertisements for drinks, sandwiches, and many other things, including Kopiko, that made a lot of scenes feel cringe-worthy.
ENJOY WATCHING GUYZ .

Temu Avengers
I mean, who doesn’t enjoy the face cards of Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, and Lee Sang Yi? Visuals were serving, no doubt. But they really went for some Avengers level team up energy and then just threw in Oh Jung Se as the villain with zero real threat or buildup. Like, what was that? The whole "medalists turned officers" angle had potential, I won’t lie. It’s a cool concept. But the way the story unfolded? Predictable, classic, and honestly kind of dull. Also, someone explain how Dong Ju didn’t die from all those injuries, man was out there tanking pain like he had plot armor turned to max.
I did enjoy it overall, but let’s be real it wasn’t anything mind blowing. For a 16 episode run, I laughed maybe 10 minutes total and got genuinely amazed for like 30 seconds. Respectable effort, but that’s about it.

empty aestheticness with good acting
action worthy of a zombie moviegreat acting/actors mean mediocre and sloppy writing
I loved the team, and they all shined well in their fight scenes fit for their strength and i have seen worse
but the action packed aestheticness was lost on the cheesy "big enemy", just like totally spies "LAMOS", they were five of the most notorious bad guys, but they were so underwhelming sitting in their penthouse and chatting
It must be a talent, an hour of nothingness without it actually being plotless but nothing moves forward either
actingwise they were all great, I wasn't a big fan of bogum but I really liked him here, sohyun was great in her action scenes too, and sangyi was so different from bloodhouds, he was oozing calm hotness
again, things went wrong when the drama didn't know what genre it was, sticking to one genre can become super dull, but having too much gives one a whiplash
a love triangle, a sweet youth romance, never ending action, crime, comedy, sports, illness, corruption and family drama
some things are necessary to add depth to the characters, but the execution really ruined it
the action scenes were too long, even though they were shot beautifully, the villains were never ending, and the heroes were being beaten up so badly, it was a miracle they survived without any scars
in two days, their near death fatal injuries would disappear
I mean at one point anyone would think “is this an Bollywood drama”
Like people are getting extremely beaten up and get up in three days like nothing happened
Like ok, getting hit, then hit again.. then drugged, ok, we can say the drug even made him less prone to pain
And I thought she’d break her car or something to allow him to get out, but he literally jumps into a moving car, again
Then walks enough to reach busy streets, and instead of talking to ppl he goes infront of cars… it’s fine. He’s drugged…
But then another car of thugs come after him and stab him, he hits another car….
Ppl think he’s a druggy on a rampage…. Then he disappears for a few hours and they randomly find him, then Drugmon finds him, then extra villain finds them and stabs 2ml….. like?
the end of the villain was so cheesy, saving him three or four times, going to prison waiting for his trial, not getting a death sentence justice but getting murdered, and no one wondered who killed him? surely someone who kills a bad guy, is a worse guy who didn't want him to talk
I did love the ost

There's no story in this drama, and I couldn't understand any actions of the characters
This drama has no exact starting or ending, the characters are doing so many difficult job while risking their lives but it seems that all are meaningless. On the other hand we see a merciless emotionless villain. But why is he doing all those things, it really doesn't worth even for money. From where he came, why does he doing all these thing. Well, even if I accept all his actions but why he just kill the protagonists? Why he jas to twisted all the events!I just can't understand a single moment of this drama. It's really disappointing to see Park bo gum in such an immature character after watching "When life gives you tangerines".

16 ep was a stretch
case was good but the plot did not draw me .I mean they kept on dragging the plot too much push and pull they catch him and he slips and yet they go after him and yet he slips.
if the said villan was not revealed that early in the plot has some suspense would have been nice or if u reveal he's the bad guy then reduce the plot time. also the relationship between the leads maybe I've watched too many chinese short drama (you know what i mean if u watch too)but the chemistry didn't work out for me.

It's a Fight Fest that focuses on Bo Gum's character
That Park Bo Gum's character survived this drama was a miracle! Honestly, if they had him sacrificing himself in the pursuit of justice, THAT would have made him more of a noble character/hero than what he ended up as in this drama. And since this drama revolves around his character, let me comment on my probably unpopular opinion that when Park Bo Gum is in action & being fierce : he's interesting. When he's not, he's just boring. His always hungry, puppy dog man child is totally unappealing & especially unromantic . I will give him due respect for how he got himself ready for this role & for how he put his heart & soul into the action scenes .For me, though, it's Lee Sang Yi that is more leading man material as he is increasingly interesting & appealing as he exudes depth & maturity . Unfortunately they don't flesh out his character very much, even to the point of not giving us any explanation as to why he & Kim So Hyun's character broke up! They also have given no reason as to why she is so sought after by the male leads -making the attraction feel forced (& unnecessary). They should have made this just a buddy/coworker ensemble. Ironically, as the drama progresses , the female lead's character stands back a few times, realizing that though she is the romantic interest, the guys pretty much have better rapport with each other ! yeah, the bromance is not well set up or explained but it's fun to watch. Sadly ,the drama suffers from a glut of violence & ridiculous recoveries from injuries on both sides. Also at fault is the wearying relentless & often brainless pursuit of the villain by Bo Gum' Character. I stopped & started this drama 3 times. By the last 2 episodes, I honestly just didn't care & wanted to be done. As far as the title goes, Park Bo Gum's character is NOT actually a "Good Boy" & he proves it by being a law unto himself, punching people out of anger more often than out of necessity, effectively making him just as much a thug as any of the "bad guys". Not much noble or heroic about alot of what he does. If you need to know: there is a happy ending for all the main characters.

Drama Nothing Without the Cast
Excellent casting. Amazing acting. Average storyline. The drama started off strong but unnecessarily dragged on towards the end. The same results probably could have been done in 8 episodes instead of 16. I didn't find there to be much development of the characters and the drama seemed more heavily focused on the action packed fighting than anything else (which, after 16 episodes of it, it gets a bit dull). For such a stellar cast, there could have been so much more done, which I felt like this drama failed to take advantage of.Was this review helpful to you?
