When Love Teaches a Devil to Hesitate
This is not a perfect drama—but it is an unforgettable one.Till the End of the Moon lives and dies on one central achievement: the transformation of Tantai Jin. What makes his arc powerful is not that he becomes “good,” but that he begins to hesitate. Those tiny moments—when cruelty pauses, when instinct conflicts with something unfamiliar, carry more emotional weight than any grand declaration.
Luo Yunxi delivers one of the most layered performances I’ve seen in a C-drama. The shifts are often subtle: restraint in the eyes, a flicker of confusion, a controlled unraveling. It’s not loud acting—it’s precise, and it lands.
Bai Lu matches him in emotional complexity. Li Susu’s conflict—loving the very person she was sent to destroy—is where the story finds its core tension. The drama doesn’t take the easy route of simplifying that conflict, and that’s where it succeeds.
That said, the structure is uneven. The pacing fluctuates, particularly in later arcs, and some transitions feel rushed where they should have been earned. The mythology is ambitious but not always cleanly executed.
But here’s the thing: this drama is not remembered for its structure, it’s remembered for its emotional impact.
It’s tragic, heavy, and often uncomfortable, but it earns those feelings.
Not flawless. But unforgettable.

I sobbed so hard. I loved it so much.
I love well written tragedies, I also love fantasy and epic tales so this one? Ticked all the boxes!Fated enemies, fated lovers, tragic fate. We have gods, demons, mortals the ending of the world! We also have a very unfortunate boy who has a tragic life and learns to love, gets betrayed and loves still!
Tantai Jin's love is unmatched. Xiwu's is also its own kind of tragic, prophesized savior of the world falling in love with the one who destroyed it yet she keeps wanting to believe in him and trusts and tries so hard.
I am heartbroken, I sobbed so hard by the end I was hiccuping. It was one of best watches, makes me realise that truly, I can only find this type of content in chinese drama and nowhere else.
The Music IS AWESOME. I LOVE IT I HAVE THE WHOLE THNG SAVED.
Just watch it you guys, my words fail me.

A rollercoaster of emotions
I gave a very low score on the rewatch value because I don't think I will ever have the heart to watch all the suffering in this drama again. It made me cry, it made me scream, it made me skip work because I needed to finish it.One of my favourite things about this drama is that it's very easy to spot each arc and how they influence the characters and the story. Each one of them brings character development and layers that are extremely important to what's to come.
Tantain Jin might be most tragic character I have ever watched. There was a point that I was just sobbing and asking WHY CANT THIS MAN JUST BE HAPPY FFS. And even with everything that happens to him, he manages to be true to himself until the very end - and not in a perfect way. This is where I feel this drama shines: how it shows all the stages of his grieving, including the last ones where he still relies on his ability to lie. For the greater good, yes. But it's still a lie.
The arc with the God of War and the Clam Princess was one of my favourites. The actress behind that hateful character who ruined everything is freaking amazing because I really hated her SO MUCH, until the last arc where I finally felt something soft for her. And that says a lot for me.
And the entire arc of him as the king, omg. All the times they betrayed each other, hurt each other, loved, cried, smiled... I felt everything so deeply. Especially the part where he believes she was in love with Xiao Lin the entire time but still wants to be with her. Every time they married was a stab in the heart, something always went wrong!!!! And then she dies and he just goes full obsessive, crazy, heartbroken... I was suffering with him right there.
The only negative side of this drama, for me, were the last 10 episodes. Too much stuff happened in such a sort time and it was hard to digest.
But woah... This is one of those where I left a piece of my heart behind from watching it. I just know it will be a long time until I stop thinking about it.

When a good casting saves the drama
I rewatched this before writing a review cause I don’t usually write them.My main issues with this drama, and the reason why I gave an 8.5, are the ending which I thought it was unnecessary to end the way it did and annoyed me too much and the ost is not that memorable I remember only one song from it. Other than that I really liked it.
Luo Yun Xi (kindly nicknamed as little lizard bc he as Demon Lord looked like one to me)is amazing as Tantai Jin, first watching one with him and I think he seems to be born to do this type of character. The way he matched perfectly with all 3 characters he portrayed with completely different personalities was insane. Bai Lu is a great actress not my first time watching her, but the first drama I finished still going through others, she carried her characters way beyond what they were written for. She pissed me off making the same mistakes and I still liked her as Ye Xiwu, made me love her, feel her pain and how torn she was on what to choose/do as Sang Jiu, feel hopeful for a better future as early Li Susu. Every emotion she felt I felt it with her even though sometimes I wanted to hate her I couldn’t do it. How she matured from an almost naive Susu to a great woman after everything she lived. Their chemistry, which is CRAZY GOOD, is a bonus point for me since we already got both of these extremely talented actors.
The supporting cast is good, although I have to say that the actress that played Pian Ran did so good with her role, she completely stole my heart. Let’s not forget to give a nod to Chen Du Ling(Ye Bing Chang), the fact she made me hate her no matter who she was and what life just showed she did good too.
I liked the FX but I do have to point they overdid with the coughing blood with every small injury.
The costumes and the settings are super well done and very pretty.
Till the End of the Moon has an okay story paired with a great main cast that most of the time carries the drama and are the reason to not give up watching. It might feel like the story is stuck in a endless cycle with characters making the same mistakes over and over again, but if you stick to it will be worthy enough for the 40eps. Although I’m still new to Chinese dramas, I’m sure that if they had chosen for any other casting this would become a boring story to watch. Overall it is a good drama to watch especially if you like this kind of drama.

FL x ML who was born as and made into a villain
The show has a complex Fl and ML. The ML became evil b/c of his evil bone that made him evil without salvation. However, he gave into this evil because of the abuzz he faced throughout his ENTIRE life. The FL goes back in time to remedy his destruction and evil. The story is never dry and features action and romance. The relationship can be a bit abusive towards the end however this is b/c the ML is messing with the big bad god and sacrificing himself which leads to internally battle this big bad god that can CONTROL him. Also, he says that no one ever is loyal with him but there is the support character that is loyal to him but is relatively new and was not significant as the other ppl who left him at the time. My biggest gripe is that it does not follow the novel which makes the ML more ruthless and shows the side of him that is inconsiderate and makes heartbreaking scenes even more impactful. I also wish it showed more of the happy ending and was not cut off so quick. I do not think there will be a season 2 b/c I have not seen as second book of it mentioned, however maybe the ending will come later but it is not likely.About the season: Till the End of the moon had scenes cut to meet China’s requirements

Till the End of the Moon is literally the definition of "emotional damage" ??
Tantai Jin’s life was just one big tragedy from the literal womb until his very last breath like, can the universe give this man a break for once?! He spent his whole life being bullied, hated, and betrayed, and just when he finally got a tiny, microscopic slice of happiness with Li Susu, the plot just snatched it away and threw him into more despair. It’s actually insane how he sacrificed everything for a world that never even showed him an ounce of kindness. My heart is honestly in pieces!I swear, the story is so unique and the visuals are top-tier, but that ending heartbreak. I love the drama to bits but there is NO WAY I’m ever watching it again because the pain is just too much to handle. It’s a literal masterpiece of misery and I’ve officially run out of tears. Consider my heart permanently shattered I’m closing this chapter and never looking back because it’s just too painful to relive that trauma!

Surprisingly promising
Having awaited this drama since Nov '21, I only went into it blind a few days ago because truthfully, I was skeptical with the recent xianxia works. When the average cdrama is typically 30+ ep, it's tricky to determine if it's worth the emotional investment. Having seen Youku's poster shooting, it was evident the entire production oozes quality, colour and excellent direction. First episode in and you can immediately smell the potential success this would receive. From the opening until the staggering contrast of the last scene of Ep1, it's definitely a remarkably strong first episode and trust when I say it only gets much better from here. From the get go, the style is reminiscent to LBFAD and while the enemy to lovers trope is the main theme, the similarity ends here. In particular, there is a dynamic portrayed between Ep2-3 that I've never witnessed in cdrama, and it's both tragic and refreshing to see. The frustration is nonexistent when it came to the brilliantly crafted FL, who actually possesses personality, capability and intelligence that goes far beyond the helpless variation portrayed in most xianxia works. Played by Bai Lu, she is doing a fantastic job of representing the viewers in our experiences of unravelling what exactly took place 500 years ago. She navigates and struggles with her emotions and values in a very raw form, that her rage is your own, and her internal conflicts mirror yours.
This is the first drama I'm watching starring Luo Yunxi, and I recognized his pretty visual from seeing his picture in one of the food/snack packages in my local Chinatown supermarket (no, really).
Having heard of LYX's talents in passing, I was still very much floored by his performance. It was less about expectation than hope when entering this drama, because there's nothing quite as disappointing when a work is set up so highly for success. But the introduction to his character as the devil god is so strongly portrayed, that his presence practically commands the screen in just brief seconds. His vacant and chilling expression is impossible to overlook, and there is an unnerving aura tied to his role that makes one extremely uncomfortable and allured at the same time. His silence is terrifying. Toward the very end of Ep1, it is without a doubt LYX possesses extreme versatility to embody the characterization of Tantaijin, where your feelings are shifted just from the slightest break in expression. He truly is excellent.
The action scene in Ep4 ia surprisingly impressive, the CGI is incredibly three dimensional, the visuals are lively and vivid, and costumes are great. It seems to check mark a lot of things but since I'm still very early into the drama, this rating will be reviewed past the half mark at Ep20 (I am at Ep5). The only con is the dubbing, but it's commonly done in cdramas so it's only a minor issue. I was pleasantly suprised that TTJ was not a voice over but LYX's natural soft spoken voice, which is very fitting for the character. At present, the drama very favourable and opens a lot of opportunities for where the plot could lead to. But for a drama of 40 episodes, there are a lot of ways it could potentially go south. Until that's confirmed, I'd highly give it a try.

Interesting twists and turns
I love the way this drama twists and turns making you pay attention thinking that it is not so ho hum like others. Never seen a wife so mean. Lol. Nor a husband just take it. But it doesn't stay that way. I did wander if they had any real feelings. I picked this drama as my fave Deng Wei is in this one. He 's so great. I like him in everything I've seen him in so far. This has a good cast too. I can't wait to see how it ends. I wonder that it may not be a happy ending but don't know. I do like the fantasy aspect in this particular drama as it s not so dark as some are. The FL is a really pretty girl and has a special draw , charming, yet ornery. Was this review helpful to you?
