Before I start singing odes to how I liked it, I want to have a moment of rambling. I particularly dislike when people start pointing out at tropes and routines as disadvantages, while I find it quite silly, because every genre has those, it's part of the genre after all. Rom-com doesn't pretend to be a chaser after high achievements, it should have romance, it should have comedy, if you want to watch something realistic then you definitely chose the wrong place. It's as if viewers, who are very aware of what to expect from the rom-com still manage to be surprised that what they see is what they expected (tropes and routines), but it makes them angry for some reason. But the main thing that makes a show pop is not only those, but how the entire staff, from director to screenwriters, actors, editors and everyone else manage to make the drama entertaining and interesting. To me many parts of this drama won my heart, so many endearing people.Drumroll.
I want a loud round of applause for cameramen and editors. STANDING OVATIONS PLEASE!
Honestly, the first thing that really got to me was the wonderful work of camera and how the whole drama was edited, they managed to highlight many things. Fresh ideas, the picture doesn't look boring. They did manage to make it look entertaining. I remember even sending the slipper hitting the face scene to my mom for laughter, she said it was really fun and edited well. Not to mention small details, even the birld screech that haunted us the entire series was memable. Just for their job done so well I really had fun watching.
And overall I really-really loved watching it.
SECOND STANDING OVATION IS FOR ACTORS.
I honestly loved their play. They managed to be expressive in a humorous way, but not exaggerating it to the point of being awkward. Amazing Kim Se Jeong (the very first actress who really looks sleepy when waking up ahahaha). Absolutely delightful play. Ahn Hyo Seop played really well too, transforming from this arrogant and snarky CEO who only wanted to catch Shin Ha Ri's tail for her deceit, but slowly growing and changing. The way he was acting new and awkward to relationship, which was logical, was endearing. The second pairing was absolutely fantastic! Some say they even overshadowed the main couple, but I don't think so, each couple had their own story and merit. Since main couple was responsible for the rom-com routines, the second couple had more mature approach, after all they met, fell in love and came together eventually witout much bullshit, which was really refreshing. Seol In Ah was fantastic, I was really amazed, I had a really good impression of her while watching Running Man and in acting she didn't disappoint. Let's not forget to mention Seo Hye Won, with a little spoilt daughter personality and Engrish words thrown here and there she managed to have her own bright spot. And of course Lee Deok Hwa who played the grandpa. I mean viewers should be like him, even grandpa knows how to enjoy the melodrama X'D To me personally the entire drama really was held up by actors and they made it work.
Despite the storyline being silly it was fun to watch. And of course it was unrealistic, don't start with me, everyone knows that such things don't happen in life. The only thing that I thought was not really needed is the time skip at the ending, the story could have done without it. Maybe the distance and coming back again means something for Korean, but I felt bad that grandpa's character was put through such plot. That was the only dark spot in my opinion.
All in all, if you come here for the rom-com, light-hearted watch, then try it. Really.
PS: I think I'll forever remember about Samantha and Rachel :'D

Well done kdrama
This kdrama is well done. It is not focused on "big themes" but analyzes interpersonal relationships [like romance, friendship, family] and emotions [like jealousy, grudge]. Although it's a simple "office drama" it's well structured, the plot it's interesting.Sure thing there are some clichés, I'm referring to Kang Tae-moo's grandfather or Jin Young-seo's father.
Furthermore the first meeting of the side couple [love at first sight], their quarrel over Young-seo's colleague and the initial 'situation-ship' of the main couple. However both couples are 'correctly' developed. I appreciated Kang Tae Moo's confession as soon as he realises his feelings, I think Shin Ha-Ri is really cool and strong, and for me both couples can be considered green.
The acting is marvelous, referring to all the members of the team, so natural and plausible. I have to say my favourite character is the main female lead, she's amusing, sunny, charismatic <3
The music was balanced between serious themes and funnier ones, so it perfectly represents the soul of the show.

A breathe of fresh air honestly
If you are tired of too many tropes that stay for WAY to long, watch this.This was good, plan and simple the characters were so lovable and I really enjoyed it, Shin Ha Ri is definitely really cool, her character was very well written, wish I could get amnesia like some shows abuse and rewatch the show because I actually almost binged the whole thing in one go, plus the ML was just cool he knew what he wanted and knew when he took things to far or at least he was made aware of it, the thing I enjoyed the most is how real the characters felt at least for me I will definitely rewatch this in the future perhaps with my own special someone or just by myself haha, the secretary and the friend were just as cute together.

Short, sweet and easy to watch. All the characters are likable here and so are the relationships. The male lead Tae Moo and female lead Ha Ri have this adorable chemistry and I like how both of them are not just foodies but also work in the food industry...the parts where they would come up with fusion recipes for Korean cuisine, from the brainstorming to the food tasting, were pretty entertaining. The sismance between Ha Ri and her best friend Young Seon, the second female lead, was also another highlight- they had a great friendship and a lot of hilarious* scenes together.
It’s funny how this show manages to be self-aware and poke fun at itself. The grandpa character actually watches a drama called Be Brave Shin Gumi which is filled with all these rom-com/kdrama cliches and tropes, and then later on a lot of the events in that drama would happen to the characters outside* the show…only that they would handle themselves a lot better than expected.
The characters and relationships aren’t perfect but they are very communicative and understanding of each other. Ha Ri starts off with a false identity in the beginning and Tae Moo is naturally very upset when he finds out, but she apologizes to him without any hesitation. Tae Moo unreasonably asks his assistant Seung Hoon (the second male lead) to go an a blind date when the latter is already dating Young Seon…but when realizing his mistake, Tae Moo not only apologizes to Seung Hoon, but to the both of them.
The only things I didn’t like were how the grandpa became antagonistic towards the main couple when he found out about them, because I was expecting him to go against the stereotype (given how he criticized Be Brave Shin Gumi!) but he disappointingly didn’t - at least, not until the very end. The second male lead Seung Hoon was also a bit weak willed and inconsistent, although his relationship with Young Seon works out later. A third party comes in between them in some of the episodes but refreshingly, she also turns out to be a likable and supportive character.

A good romcom but 8 episodes should have been enough
A good romcom. The story is pretty much standard for most of the romcoms.Two people, Shin Ha Ri and Kang Tae Moo went on a blind date to please their families. But Shin Ha Ri helped her best friend instead. But, her date had decided to marry her.
The story begins from the moment they met.
Watch it for a good laugh.

A cliché romcom, but worth watching as it's really good!
The plot is about a chaebol and an ordinary person falling in love. Yeah, you've probably already watched two or more shows like that. However, "Business Proposal" does an amazing job of developing its characters and their relationships, so it's definitely worth watching!I didn't know Kim Se-Jeong before, but I completely fell in love with her. What terrific acting skills! Seol In-Ah was already one of my faves, so it wasn't a surprise to see such wonderful work here too. Ahn Hyo-Seop and Kim Min-Gue played their roles flawlessly. The chemistry between the couples—and also the friends—is so good that it's impossible not to sympathize with the characters.
About the clichés: as I said, it's a good use of them. Nevertheless, there's one detail that bothers me: I can't stand that every time they write a company heir character, he's an orphan whose parents died in a car accident when he was little. And it's always on his birthday, and he feels guilty because he rushed them to get home through a phone call...
Anyway, if you are searching for a cute romance with good comedy, this drama is the perfect choice!

Gotta have some suspension of disbelief for this to work
Guy's a red flag, major abuse of power. They barely touch on the HR problem their relationship is. It's just "rumors" that are considered the biggest issue in it all. Plus, the show was super slow, at some points I was watching on 4x speed and it still felt slow.But the jokes were funny and the couples are cute.
This is something you could play in the background while you're working. I feel like all the episodes could have been shortened to 10 minutes and it would make still make sense.

A real KDRAMA.
It has everything and I just want to say that everyone should watch this masterpiece. Highly recommended. Can't say anything else loved everything about this KDRAMA. Especially for beginners you should watch it. And just watch it over and over again. Actors chemistry was fabulous and loved the couple. Second lead is also the best. For the writers I just want drama's like this which are perfect and it have a HAPPY ENDING ALSO. Want a 2nd season but let's see what happens . A ROM-COM THAT IS FUN WATCHING!!!!!
first of all the drama is not the unique one if you are looking for that. this is the simple story with little more cliches and same story.the drama is fun to watch and the second lead will impress you with their chemistry . the cast have done their job very well and you will find many iconic moments from the old dramas as well.
if you are looking for a rom-com to lift your mood and just to watch it as it is with no expectation then it is for you .
the drama is only 12 episode which is good as they did not add more to it.

Business proposal
First I need to say how wrong I was, I thought this drama was overhyped and watching this would be waste of time - well my opinion was just wrong and I would regret if I did not give it a chance.Second couple was perfect, cast had excellent chemistry and played really well (although I am not the biggest fan of Ahn Hyo Seop, he worked here well), Kim Sejeong - she was amazing, like it was even a question?
Yes this is typical rom-com but if you looking for something light, easy to watch and like this type of genre then this is one of the best to choose.
I feel like the ending was a bit rushed or just needed one more episodes but still very good drama.

A K-drama to enjoy if you wanna have fun and stay away from real world
As someone who needs to be in a mood to watch a rom-com (which is not really frequent of me) I can say I love this show! THIS is how you do a rom-com with well done cliches and not in a cringey way or full of second hand embarrasment moments! It´s a good recomendation for people who wants to get into K-dramaland.I did laugh and fangirled with the romance happening (got me smiling at the cute moments), there´s good acting and chemistry with both couples, cute friendship between Ha Ri and Young Seo and the dynamic of Tae Moo and Sung Hoon was dope and funny.
As an extra detail in my opinion, I´m glad they did the rich male lead as a nice cute rich guy (or at least that´s what I felt watching him), because I think Kdramas usually makes the rich male leads as arrogant and kind of rude with people (and sometimes they are even rude with the female lead), I mean yes they show us Kang Tae Moo as a "cold heart" workaholic man who knows he´s good at a lot of things but this man is... I really don´t know how to explain it, also he´s the definition of "he fell HARD for her" WHICH I LOVE THAT TROPE.
I wanna let out two good things from my chest which propably I´m never moving on (fangirl mood on):
1. The way ep 11 end got me internally screaming , fangirling and shock, I didn´t think I could see something like that in a Kdrama rom-com :0 in general Tae Moo and Ha Ri had good kissing scenes, they did so good as their charcaters.
2. THAT KISS SCENE WITH THE HOT SECRETARY GUY TAKING OFF HIS GLASSSES?!?!?!?! THAT PART MADE ME FEEL THINGS *faints* seriously I fell hard for the actor who plays Sung Hoon in this show.
I mean in general the K-drama has a lot of good moments but I wanna mention some little details that did kind of frustrate but it doesn´t ruin my rating of the show:
1. The way they make the granpa being sick for real and they have to take him to the US for a year was a weird move.
2. Tae Moo´s accident was kind of weird too, I mean it wasn´t a huge accident but thank god they didn´t apply the amnesia trope but it was so sudden for me, I´m not sure if it was that necessary.
3. Ha Ri´s "friend" mentioning the possibility of coming back at her as a friend again (´cause he´s leaving the country) like dude really?! I mean being a jealous dude after knowing she has a bf (when he himself never told Ha Ri he cameback with his ex) and interfering with her relationship while he already has a gf! (and a really shitty one too) it just made me so mad all the mess he did and then at the final being like "I´m sorry for everything I did but when I comeback to Korea, can we see each other as friends again?" and of course Ha Ri forgives him (Ha Ri you´re so nice but you deserve a better friend!).
Sadly the OST didn´t catch my eye or didn´t leave with a "OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!" vibe, I mean it suit well with the situations happening but it wasn´t my taste to add it for a playlist.
In conclusion: I really like it, I could rewatch some scenes to have a good laugh and fangirl a times. If you want a story with plot twist with a huge plot, this show isn´t for you.

I wanted to love this show, but the finale is underwhelming.
My 1st ever review, but I needed an outlet to express my disappointment. I loved the premise, the casting and the acting. But after episode 8, Tae-Mu was so in love, his personality was unrecognisable. Sure, this shows how much he loved Shin Ha-Ri, but it felt rushed and unnatural. And that finale? For such an interesting buildup, all we get is a reunion after a year, a proposal & scene of the 2 MCs walking away? No wedding, no proper ending to their love story? No explanation of how grandpa finally gave his approval? I'm disappointed.Was this review helpful to you?
