Swooning
One of the best couple. Great chemistry! Bai lu and didi are phenomenal! If you've watched "The Rational Life" this drama is gonna change your impression of dylan wang. I liked him in that drama as well but, it was wierd to see his goofy charm after this drama. Anyhow this drama contains all the necessary ingredients like love(obviously), twists and turns, misunderstandings and lots of butterfly moments. Was this review helpful to you?
so enjoyable and sweet
Both male and female leads have played their character the best. Its the little nuisances that fill the details of characters. Dylan wang as Shi Yan is not a big sharer, actor plays the character well through his eyes and movement of his fingers to express emotions. Where on other hand, shuyi is inexperienced in behavior for relationship, and keeps us engaged at times frustrated with her nuisances. The story takes leaps n bounds jump in emotional development and character development of the leads relationship after they patch up. So patience is the key, but the end of story is completely satisfying. Especially the extra episode of their wedding!!!Was this review helpful to you?

It was good to me.
Really good. I liked all the characters and especially shipped the main couple. I really didn't like the professor and the intern getting together. Their relationship was sorta cringy. Not because of the age gap but because she was so invested that she came off as a stalker at times. I feel like he just gave in because she wore him down. Another thing was I didn't think they should have done that to the ex-boyfriend. I understand he cheated because he thought the other girl would be able to help him more but he saw before long that he wasn't happy with the other girl. They could have just left him to wallow in his grief.I was also liking that the main couple wasn't falling into tropey plots until the break up and I thought that one was a real force at that time. Especially when he blocked her but got mad when she deleted his contact.

slow start but grows on you
the start was slow and deffinetly bit more of an awkward start of the main CP romance...like thw chemistry wasn't really there and the fact that our Male lead was mostly monosilabic didn't help. which also makes his later random cute moments very uncharacteristic. i blame this on poor characterization from thw writers.
this being said, the story does grow on you organically and you get to like the cast so much it becomes ur little new world.
i do wish the second couple(s) would've gotten more screen time but it is what it is.
a bit too much use of the "miscommunication" trop for my taste, but it got no major villain/drama and is very cozy.

This series could have been so much better but was unfortunately disappointing
This series could have been so much better but was unfortunately disappointing. Very long, drawn out and slow paced...... I personally do not understand why it was produced this way but it must be due to the screenwriter, as the Producer has produced a number of very good shows such as Mysterious Lotus Casebook. It could have been done in at least 24 episodes to have a better flow and keep the viewer wanting more. I wanted to skip / fast forward at times but watched with eng subs so it wasn't doable. The actors did a good job and Bai Lu and Dylan Wang did not disappoint. Their chemistry was on point and affection believable. The side couples also did well and their storyline was better than the Main couple's. The main couple's storyline was at times clouded by clichés and downright childish misunderstandings and miscommunication.
Story had flaws and its too tedious to go through everything.
Ost wasn't memorable
Production and Visual FX : 8

I went in highly skeptical and left with a warm feeling in my heart.
This is a honest unbiased review.I read reviews from this site before watching and frankly the reviews where not encouraging, i also asked a friend who had watched it and she said it was"okay".
I decided to download all the episodes of this drama on my yt and i started watching it.
These are the things i loved about this drama:
1. Zheng shu yi is a confident career woman who is good at her job and that part really stands out to me in the beginning.
2. The way she handled her breakups with her stupid ex and later on with shi yan had a clear distinction partly because of the nature of her feelings towards each of them.
3. Her friendship with shanshan was potrayed in a mature way.
4. The relationship between the zheng shu yi's boss and old guan.
The things i hated:
1. Shan shan's harmful advice that led to the breakup between shi yan and zheng shuyi, though i can understand why she thinks that way.
2. The fact that zheng shuyi failed to realise shi yan's intentions earlier on and ended up shaking the foundation of her relationship.
In general the story was good at times , passable at times. If you are looking for a high-intensity or melodramatic drama this is not for you.
In all i recommend that you watch it regardless ,it might not be the most engaging but it has its funny moments and its romantic moments too.
Special mention:
The dating era of shi yan and zheng shuyi after the breakup was beautifully done and the special episode with their wedding was really good.
In conclusion watch it and see for yourself , if you jcan't finish it because the pacing and plot is not for you that's fine too.
I hope this review helped you make up your mind about watching it or not😁.

Dylan Wang definitely fits the Overbearing CEO characters!
This story is quite nice to watch. It is even better watching Dylan Wang play, again, an overbearing CEO. I think that he really fits this type of character role. Overall, I find this story / series not bad. An overbearing CEO and a witty, funny and intelligent reporter. Technically, the story revolves around 4 couples, but the series mainly highlights on the main couple, Dylan Wang and Bai Lu. From the first accidental meeting to how they fell in love, have their misunderstandings and eventually the happy ending (which you need to watch the special episode for). Amazingly, they did this for the main 3 couples of this series. Would have been awesome if they included more about the 4th elderly couple. However, both the male and female lead did a remarkable job in bringing their characters to life. Bai Lu, with her wittiness and humor is indeed very refreshing and fun to watch, while Dylan Wang with the expressionless Overbearing CEO attitude is also a very interesting character. I would say that the entire casts for this series really did a good job in breathing life into their characters and bringing this series to life. The soundtrack for this series is awesome. It is one of those rare series that has so many songs, 11 in total, that is so nice and amazing to listen to. A great job in pairing the songs to this series.
Re-watch value, well, I would say depend on how you like the series after watching it for the first time. I did watch it the 2nd time, to catch glances on scenes that I might have missed out while binging for the first time.

Addictive drama with flaws
Although it was very addictive all the way through and carried itself well, there were many frustrating moments with phone interruptions, lack of communication and misunderstandings which were not too bad but these were used as weak plot points repeatedly and made the show longer than necessary. The acting was very well done and there are some lovely romance scenes as well which were very enjoyable. I love the female lead and her other works, she is really great.Loved the second and third couple more than the main coupleWas this review helpful to you?
At the end of the 36th episode, the segment suggests an ending for all three couples in the drama and not completely ending the drama. I suggest watching the special episode to see the true ending.

I'm pleased to note...
I'm pleased to note that the drama is quite realistic in its portrayals of the young, ambitious CEO, professor, and assistant. They are highly educated and physically fit, with a desire to explore and implement new technologies, even relying on intuition. Given the country's successful economic development, it's likely this generation of leaders is working in big business. The drama depicts a company engaged in investment, the nuances of the work, the risks, and the betrayal of specialists who leave the company during difficult times. CEO Shi Yan created this company after leaving the family business and is forced to report to the elders and assume responsibility. I understood the business world because of my work, but if someone unfamiliar with it is not, I'm afraid the drama will seem boring. The journalists' work, however, was interesting; there was much new learning, but there was also some envy and backstabbing. The supporting couples are each engaging in their own way and have their place in the drama, but the actors failed to outshine the lead couple. The drama's theme of friendship between the male leads is vibrant, as are the conversations they have at meetings, their support for each other, and the jokes themselves. The lead actors are a whole other story. Dylan is perfect as the CEO. He's slender, handsome, and not overly strong, but those kinds of actors often don't look convincing in such roles. Dylan, however, is amazing. He doesn't just read the script, he thinks and translates those thoughts onto the screen. His facial expressions help add emotion to the character. Dylan has the artistry and can surface, sometimes hidden behind sarcasm and sharp remarks in his verbal exchanges with Bai Lu's character. The actress is incredibly beautiful and delivers a unique performance, creating a harmonious couple in love. Anyone who enters this world of elegant everyday life and unique charm will be left with a lasting, pleasant aftertaste and a desire to watch again and again. Was this review helpful to you?
