The characters were so on point

Just finished watching this drama, and it's so good. I'm quite happy i watched it at this time, so i won't have to wait for upcoming episodes.
Feng Yin's characher was good, but it was nothing special to me. It was indeed worthy of a main lead. She was almost the best there, but it was to be expected.
The coolest people in the drama were Yuan Qi and Ming Qi. What i liked about them most was the way they used their powers, those Yuan Qi's cool finger gestures, and Ming Qi's confident flow of power.
I really liked Ming Qi in this drama, even before the last episode. Watching him with Xiu Yan was always so good to look at. The way he was always calm and cool about everything was just so good.
I also liked the Ao Ge - Xiu Yan brothers. Their characters were just too amazing. The way Ao Ge was always stoic and aloof when acting as the ruler and how he was always emotional when it came to his brother moved me. And how Xiu Yan was always thinking of all possibilities and coping with Ming Qi was just too good to see.

Gotta be honest, I can't bring myself to 100% ship A Yin with the ML.I just feel that she is way too good for him.
He literally killed her by mistake in the beginning💀. And ever since he's gotten her in so much trouble (e.g. he gave that damned peacock the umbrella artifact and ended up putting both his and A Yin's lives in danger- she ended up habing to heal him by sacrificing a part of her lifespan). Also by the looks of the trailers even up to episode 24 he is the same. He literally told her that he regretted to have met her in the trailer like- 💀. I do not care under what circumstances he was. I wouldn't be able to find anyone desirable after all of that.
I would very much prefer Feng Yin to return like the QUEEN that she is and pay ZERO attention to him. She's better off ending up with Hong Yi or even on her own at this point.😭.

Childish, meant for teenagers… hope it gets better

The drama had some aspects that were not up to the mark and could be improved upon. Although the script appeared to cater to a teenage audience, certain areas were a bit perplexing and could improve flow and coherence. The immortals had many talents, yet their inability to tell the truth was odd. Additionally, the chemistry between the main characters could have been better, and there was a lack of a sassy and powerful female lead, which is usually appreciated by many audiences.

The character of FL played by Rosy Zhao was cute, but I found it disappointing that the scriptwriters didn't give her a stronger character. As a result, her portrayal felt short and annoying to me. I was looking forward to seeing Rosy Zhao's new drama but overall it was a disappointment. I didn't find chemistry with the ML Yang An Yu. It was too childish.

However, I was thrilled to see Li Yun Rui again. I loved him in Love Like the Galaxy. I still wish they became the main lead couple in a costume drama. They have great chemistry and complicity. I would be over the moon watching them together!

I find modern music in costume dramas to be problematic. I prefer the use of flute, violins, and zither. Personal taste.

However, there were several things that the drama did very well. The costumes and backgrounds were stunning, and the special effects were well done. The acting of all the performers was also good. There were some funny moments in the drama that added to its charm, and the blue puppet, despite being marketed towards teenagers was a clever move that could generate significant revenue.

While the drama had some weaknesses, it also had several strengths. It had a talented cast, beautiful visuals, and some entertaining moments. It could become a great drama that appeals to a broader audience with some improvements to the plot and character development.

Season 1, 24 episodes out of 40. I will still give it a chance to see if it gets better. Because at this point, a lot of the story makes no sense and at times redundant and boring.

**

The plot took a sharp turn after her third reincarnation in episode 30. The once sweet and innocent character transformed into a cold and unlikable bitch. While the male lead who had previously rejected her in her past life finally realized his mistake became a remorseful character and received his own rejection medicine back at him, the extreme coldness of the female lead's personality was simply unbearable to me. Although I prefer strong and powerful women to lead and enjoy seeing the villains punished, her icy attitude was too much. I understand that she remembers all the sufferings and rejections she faced, but it does not justify her behavior. Even though the drama is still airing, I can only keep it a 5-star rating.

**

I finally watched the last episodes, but it was too little too late. The plot did get better, and the emotions of both couples were more engaging, but I was left with a female lead that I couldn't stand. One was a doormat and the other was a bitch, and I didn't like either of them. Even the last few episodes that showcased the rosy Zhao I love didn't make up for the previous disappointment. The epilogue was an utter disappointment, poorly executed and lacking in every aspect. As a fan, I'm not blind to an actor's bad script.

This show is a complete miss for me, with no rewatch value and no recommendation whatsoever.

An Unlikely Romance Between a True God and The Pheonix Queen

Adapted from the novel “Hidden God” (神隐) by Xing Ling (星零), WeTV’s latest adaptation “The Last Immortal” shares a close connection with the popular fantasy romance “Ancient Love Poetry”. Starring Zhao Lusi and Wang Anyu in lead roles, the show recently premiered to high expectations and is making waves throughout. I have been reading a lot of contradictory comments on MDL about this show; some like this drama immensely (like me) whilst others aren’t exactly enamored with Wang Anyu’s acting prowess. I had the same reservations, when I started with the first episode. His expressions seemed to mechanical and paired opposite a phenomenal actress like Zhai Lusi, his act was indeed disappointing. The show takes sometime and effort to get used to; I was mainly focused on the mystique surrounding Zhao Lusi and that was the only reason, why I persisted. But overtime, Wang Anyu’s Gu Jin slowly grows on you. Before going into too many details, let’s reminisce and rejoice!

Story line interesting

This is not a heavy drama but the story is very interesting the first few episodes it's quiet ok but after I watch another episodes I realized that the main plot it's getting exciting and interesting . On how their Love conquers all inspite of their different belief and misunderstanding.

This is the first time I've watch xencia because I don't like it, but I'll get curious on how many people got reservation to this drama, male lead is annoying on the first few episodes but as I continue I understand his character and I'm having trill to watch the upcoming episodes. I suggest to watch it till the end to understand the story well.

Tired story plus too immature for my taste

I generally enjoy xianxia dramas but this was a disappointment. The story is tired and predictable and I couldnt get past the first 10 episodes of the characters acting childish. The sets and costumes also looked unsophisticated to me and felt like a drama geared towards teenagers or kids? Story, cast, CGI, visuals, nothing really measured up to the other big budget xian xia dramas of this year like Till the End of Moon or Lost you Forever.

Unless you're a superfan of ZLS or WAY, this is probably not worth your time.

Best drama 2023

I m not any actor or actress fans but I usually evaluate the drama based on storyline.
I really feel this is the best drama for 2023. The chemistry between the main lead and second lead is so awesome. Their friendship and the way they support each other is really good. Love the cute ah yin and Feng Yin is with magnificent aura. ZLS and WAY emotion and expression is so on point in all their scene.
Their OST also is my favourite.
Storyline is awesome and smooth and moreover I do enjoy the ending.
ZLS drama never disappointed

slow-burning romance

Slow burn romances follow the characters as they fall in love gradually, giving us a realistic and genuine romantic experience. It allows us to watch the progression and transformation of their relationship over time.

This is what I think about the show, it is slow pace at the beginning because it established the origin of both lead, how they gradually fall in love.

Zhao Lusi never fail to amaze me, the girl can really act, I had been a fan since TROTAR.

Wang Anyu based on the criticism he's receiving right now means he's effective in acting dumb.. he will mature eventually..

I dont get it why people are being bias about the show.. like seriously.. the drama only begun.. lets wait for the middle part of it... if it was not to your like its ok not to watch it but continuously dragging the show do you have other purpose?

Let passerby watch and judge it,...

A distinct storyline! Is that too much to ask?

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m officially fed up with these recurring stories. They may as well just make one drama and give it different names. It’s frustrating at this point, the acting, the storyline, the actors themselves, and the CGI to be fair has always been at it and you’ve got to give credit where it’s due. For me, C-drama is on a proper downhill and pretty much has been for the past couple of years.
The genre XianXia is enormous, and you cannot tell me each time we’ll have to watch repeats of other dramas, it’s so cliché having to watch a drama and being able to predict what is gonna happen. What happened to the impressive voices, eye-catching Male and female leads, the distinguished storylines like Journey of Flower? And I’ll just say it, this thing of petulant and trying-to-be-funny actors has to stop, it’s boring and it gets annoying at times with how long it carries on and how much screen time it takes up. As for the FL, I’m a huge fan of Zhao Lusi when she’s playing a role that brings the best out of her, Who Rules the World directors understood that perfectly, and for me that was her best-ever performance I have seen to this day. The ML lead does not fit this role, or the storyline doesn’t fit the ML, whichever way you want to put it, he shouldn’t be playing this role and that storyline is mid. The turning point is what is doing my headin’ the most. It was just like any other normal scene and all of a sudden it was something huge. Come on! Where’s the build-up? I get no feeling that something story-changing is about to happen.
And before I even forget, what was this writer thinking about when he decided to hand us a ML with such little spiritual power? He’s a true god for God’s sake!!
Personally, I’ll keep on watching this scrap and I have to anyway because I have no other drama to watch but I highly advise you to do something more productive with your time. I haven’t found this drama interesting enough to keep me exuberant waiting for the next episode. It’s instead just happened to be another of many failures of the C-drama industry this year.

Sorry I tried....

This drama just not for me....

Story found boring.... Not original.... Not a fantastic storyline....

Zhao Lusi, look she has been in better dramas with much stronger presence.... This for me personally not one of her best roles.... Acting is okay but just a step down....

Wang Anyu really bad.... Childish role.... So much better with Gina Jin in 'Falling Into You'.... That drama felt very good performance by him....

I seen many people are enjoying the drama so if you are one who is enjoying please continue to watch and enjoy.... Just wasn't for me. Still fan of both Zhao Lusi and Wang Anyu as I have seen them before in many great dramas, I tried however can't force myself with this drama anymore....

My first ever Xianxia drama

This is my first Xianxia drama because its not my cup of tea but TLI honestly did not disppointed me. Its great and fun to watch. Both lusi and wang anyu acting is superb. Lusi acting comedy and cute at the same time and also Wang Anyu too. I'm waiting for the angst episode as they say. The CGI and the costumes are very good, excellent actually. The story line and script are easily to understand. the OST is also great wang anyu and zhao lusi singing and also silence wang. Can’t wait for more episodes to be released.
Kudos to all The Last Immortal cast & crews
