a so-so makjang
i finished this in 2 days, i think that was pretty quick, but not to say that i did not struggle. but, thankfully it was only 8 eps. at first i watched the series at 1.5x but then on ep 4, i decided to watch this story at 2x. the major problems with this series is that it is slow. despite having only 8 eps, i still think it's slow, esp the romance between the main couple only started (or they started to have more scenes together) in ep 4, when there are only 8 eps.the revenge plan/storyline ain't that interesting, also. at first, i was totally not threatened with the fl's plan, each time she stated her plan i was just "oh, ok?". and the main villain (eugene) might be the most watchable/interesting character bcos her plot and scheming seems better than other people. every character in this drama is driven by revenge (some are weaker), but everyone help each other bcos they only want revenge or money. so that's fun i guess, u can compare the intensity of their revenge. yeah...
the romance? hmmm idk. lacking i think. i watch this mainly for romance, but yeah, it wasn't that appealing (this applies to the main couple romance but also the side side fling).
well, since this is makjang, i won't really complain abt logic. i'm used to makjang not being really realistic/logical bcos yeah, makjang. but i don't hate it. this is one of the entertaining genre for me. so yeah, i welcome intense/hot/interesting makjang anytime. but this one is just so-so.
there are better makjang out there for sure, and i'm still looking for them too. as a netflix series, this is pretty skippable but if u want to watch for the cast (like me who watch it for lee hyun wook), it's pretty okay, i guess....

Good to watch when you have nothing else to binge.
There are definitely some downsides to the drama.the age and wardrobe of FL sometimes might interfere with your viewing experience (personal)
.no consequences for bad people not even the bare minimum
.the story and characters are predictable-ish even though there is a lot of potential
But yet I'm drawn to this drama its very grounded (personally didn't like penthouse because of its over the top drama...it felt like a parody almost ) and I really like the subtle romance...between ML and FL.
I guess this the type of drama where its better to go with zero expectations and just have a nice time watching rich pretty people take down each other

Great with some (strong) weak points
Usually, I'm not a fan of melodrama, but I this one I quite enjoyed. It was intriguing and I was curious where the story would take me. Furthermore, it was great that they kept it at 8 episodes. Often, these dramas run out of ideas and plot and try to drag it to 16 episodes still. The soundtrack was also great. Every time it played, I could really feel that melodrama vibe. The acting of the villain was also phenomenal, I really hated her.One thing putting me off was the wardrobe of FL. While her enemy mostly had stunning dresses, she looked like she had no fashion sense whatsoever. The whole time, I had the feeling that the person who designed her wardrobe had something serious against the actress.
Additionally, FL's revenge "plan" was really weak. I don't even want to call it a plan.
Finally, the ending was really underwhelming and a bit unrealistic. And the final scene, they could've just left out. It was so confusing, I still don't know what even happened there.

DRAMA!!!!
no because i love drama and this was superb! the fights! the way they were all trying to take each other down. the delivery. the acting. i finished it in one sitting. i wouldn't rewatch it because the woman with the short hair was insufferable but i enjoyed it. only problem i had with it was that they didn't give enough time for the romance to develop. felt like it was one sided. didn't seem like her feelings went beyond anything but a friendship.also the ceo that was instigating everything?!! a queen. loved her.
despite the terrible makeup that made them all look like ghosts, it was a solid drama. if you love fights and drama then this is 100% for you.

Good Enough
Korean Drama " Remarriage and Desires " is a clasic revenge melodrama.The story is pretty basic, but it's entertaining and enjoyable. And even though it got repetitive, it wrapped up things nicely and just a few episodes.
The characters, moreover, were classic, annoying, nerve wracking melodrama characters, but served the story just right. The performances, in addition, were smooth and enjoyable by everyone in the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten. The drama doesn't have much surprises to offer, but it checks all the kdrama melodrama boxes.

Feels rushed
The plot is interesting. It could have been a great show if it's longer. It's a good idea to have the show to only have 8 episodes but why have multiple plot if the show is that short. It should have stick with the main character story line and nothing else so they can build the romance between the main characters.The romance just feels rushed so it does not make sense. Next thing you knew they're in love and then there's a talk they were 'seeing each other'? WHEN?HOW? , Also the FL has the worst wardrobe. I hate every single dress she wore to the party. They AGED her.
Also not a fan of the ML. I can't tell if he's happy when he was with the FL. He just looks sad or mad in the entire show.

Needed More Episodes
I almost quit watching at episode 4. Story picks up at episode 5. I just felt that more episodes would have fleshed out the story, characters and eventual climax better. I get the slow burn attraction but it would have gone over wonderfully with more time dedicated to them. Some characters just sort of disappear during the show making you realize they were not that imp after all. Also the buildup to some stories was lacking. All in all, not a bad show, def not as bad as some reviews make it be. But I sort of mourn the lost potential of how much more it could have been.Was this review helpful to you?
Whilst the storyline is slightly expectable towards the end, this fast paced 8 episode drama somewhat enjoyable to watch in one sitting. Though there were many characters to keep up with but they did deliver the story well without dragging.
The casts are all played really well in forming the character.
Never expect this one could be quite ok since I don’t really into makjang drama and had zero expectations on this drama.

Unexpectedly good.
072122I'm not really sure if it's just because i'm not that keen on adult dramas or like dramas that consist of matured-looking people (actors and actresses) but really, I must say that I enjoyed it a lot. It reminds me so much of Sky Castle and Penthouse but even if that was the case, it still had me sitting and was able to finish it on time.
At first, I admit that I was a bit skeptical in watching it because of some or majority of the reviews plus the first paragraph that I've stated, but then, I remembered that this already happened to me a lot of times and I didn't wanna regret (it) again. I don't want to be judgy and base my perspective with others' opinion or somebody's opinion. Just because they have watched it and they had that kind of review, I should have that kind of point of view as well. To each his/her own.
And with that, I did not waste any time and I pushed myself in giving it another try. Of course, just like my other reviews, I don't regret it. I didn't have something to be regretful about. It ended nicely and short. The number of (the) episodes were just enough for me. In other words, perfect length to have a whole or complete story with sufficient amount of plot twists. It wasn't that super complicated and draggy as well as it was able to give justice to most of the characters. Perhaps, the impact might not be that remarkable because like i've said, the plot was simple in a way that it was easy to follow. At the same time, it had already been done or used many times in other different dramas. Still and all, good to go in killing your time.
Now off to the acting, it was superb, most especially for the antagonist, JYH (Eugene). She was able to put me on edge. My nerves on her, really. I think i killed her a lot of times in my mind. That's how good she was in portraying her character along with Jiyeon who's playing the role of CYS. Likewise with Heesun, I really loved her on Tomorrow so I can't drop this if she's a part of it, a main character to be specific.
Also am I the only one? But like it's somehow delightful to see a drama like this which isn't that you know, more rated. I must say, a friendlier version of those dramas so I was able to watch it comfortably.
All in all, i'm satisfied with it. If there will be a season 2, I would definitely watch it.

THIS WAS SOOO WORTH ITT!!!
Such a good drama! Finished it in a day! Some reviews were really poor so I was skeptical of it first but I am glad I stayed past episode 2 and finished it. Love the father and son duo as well as the mother and daughter duo! The style of the actresses and the music was so fitting for the drama and it kept me waiting for more. Plus I kept laughing whenever I saw the CEO of REX walk cause she was walking so strangely (I think she was tryna look elegant and you know grand). The ending was superb though and I have so much love for the characters cause they all did so well.JUST WATCH IT YOU WILL BE SUPRISEDDD..

a whole rollercoaster of emotions!
ok this was my first revenge drama and it was really good. The cast was rlly hot and their acting was amazing. The story was good and the aspect of the matchmaking agency was really interesting. i rlly have to compliment the actress who played Jin Yoohui bc i rlly hated her character, the acting was sooo good. i wanted to see more of hyungju and hyeseung bc they were soo cute. They were literally already acting like a married couple. I lovee the plot twist at the end but i want to see seokjin's happy ending bc he was so sweet for that. Also, i want to see the main leads' married life and their children, so i NEED a season 2. The entire drama was mature and straightforward which i really liked bc nothing got dragged on. the different pov from the characters made every moment interesting; there was never a boring moment.Was this review helpful to you?
Perfect drama for lovers of "The Penthouse"
This is my first time (probably last) writing a review as I usually just share my thoughts to my Instagram but this drama was so good and the reviews seem so harsh right now.As a lover of a good revenge plotline, this drama hit the perfect spot with my style.
I was a huge fan of The Penthouse (only season 1 and 2) so this might explain why I loved this drama so much.
The acting was amazing, every actor and actress played their role so well, to the extent you could feel sorry for the bad guys too. The music and OST was just right for this type of drama, really was good at setting the mood and always added that extra dramatic effect. The storyline.... AMAZING. This is the first drama I've watched this year that has no plot holes left, it all made sense. Every character was well explained and given the right backstory to help us understand why they are doing what they do. The ending was perfect... SO WATCH IT
To be completely honest, I will be recommending this to everyone I know and I will rewatch it multiple times until I found a new drama that is just as good.
