The FL from Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and the ML from this drama both are from medical field, one a dentist and the other a vet.

Both of them moved to a small town/secluded area from Seoul, one to open a small dental clinic while the other to take care of his grandfather's vet clinic

Both of them are not familiar with the vibe of the village when they first came

watch this if you really like the small-town/country vibes of this drama. I
It's very chill and relaxing and it does have some other subplots, but it is very slice-of-life focused.
(subplots include some romance and a mystery)

Both are set in a small town! One lead is a local, the other is from the big city. Livestock and farming are a feature of both shows.

Both are charming dramas without too much over-the-top angst. They’re cozy and enjoyable.

Zhang Jing Yi is the FL in both. The chemistry is natural. The relationship had depth. However, BEITD does not have a satisfactory ending.

Same setting
Han Ji Yool works as a veterinarian in Seoul. One day, he receives a phone call from his grandfather. His grandfather doesn’t mention specifics, but his voice sounds serious. Han Ji Yool decides to go to Heedong Village, where his grandfather lives and runs an animal clinic. There, Han Ji Yool meets police officer Ahn Ja Young. It turns out his grandfather is actually touring Europe. According to the note left by his grandfather, Han Ji Yool has to take over his grandfather’s animal clinic for a half year, while his grandfather is away. Even when Ahn Ja Young was preparing for her test to become a police officer, she wanted to work as a police officer in Heedong Village, where she grew up. She is usually the first one to appear and provide help to residents in need. She helps Han Ji Yool solve inconveniences related to his daily life in the village and they develop a romantic relationship.

Somewhat similar atmosphere, aesthetic, and setting. Although OUST is more light and straightforward in plot, LITC has a deeper and more complex relationship and plot dynamics. Nevertheless, both provide a romantic rural love story <3

- The plot is not similar but it gives the countryside vibes
- In both dramas shows the life of people around a countryside village
- How they live & help each other

- Both Main Leads move to the rural area
- Both Main Leads have a connection to the rural area
- Acquaintances from earlier on
- In both dramas, one of the main leads is a doctor
- Both ML's come from a "high" status (worked for their title)

"Forest" is more of a serious drama that focuses on what the Main Lead's problem is, while in "Once Upon a Small Town" has a more slice-of-life feel.
