Gaus Electronics (2022) - this drama is not for everybody and shows slapstick comedy that is not common to Korean dramas. Overall, not a fan of the drama but it is a breath of fresh air for me as a watcher since Korean dramas nowadays seems to be repetitive in the storyline (which is either a miss or a hit for me). I find it fun but not so much because there has been a lot of spoilers on tiktok and cut vids which are usually the fun scenes. It’s hard to digest for me because of the cultural thing and it really focuses on Korean culture in the office and the like.

I Freaking LOVED IT!!

Where was this kdrama all my life? I had so much fun watching this! Is there anything else out there like this? I haven't had so much fun since Mr. Queen! And I watched it twice! My word! It was so good! And the romance?!?!? So amazing! I loved every minute of it. I loved the length of it as well I laughed til I cried! it was so funny! This is such a good rom-com that gives an adequate amount of time to each character. It was amazingly done/ I can't rave about it enough. If you're looking for a light-hearted rom-com with just as much romance as it has comedy, this is for you. If it's not, then you might have a different kind of humour.

A Light Comedy Carried by Kwak Dong-yeon’s Charm

I started watching this drama purely for Kwak Dong-yeon, and honestly, he didn’t disappoint. I didn’t know much about the rest of the cast, but they were surprisingly good decent chemistry and fitting performances all around.

That said, the drama itself is just a light comedy. Don’t expect deep plots or emotional storytelling. It’s something you can watch just to pass time or unwind after a long day. Nothing groundbreaking, but it does its job if you’re in the mood for some silly office humor.

Funny

It's one of the funniest things I have ever seen. It's clever and entertaining. Every episode had moments of belly laughs. I'm supposed to write 500 characters worth of review before it gets published so I'm trying to think of something else to say without having to spoil the show for anyone. I think this is MDL's bias. reviews should be concise and clear enough for some and if others want to elaborate, that's their prerogative. Personally, I would just like to say "I think it's funny! Watch it. If you don't think it's funny, that's your bias."

Good Enough

Korean Drama " Gaus Electronics " is an office comedy with a love story.

The drama is short, but it manages to create the right environment to let the comedy aspect properly bloom, without using exaggerations and over the top reactions. Rather, the comedy is smooth and the laughter factor is organic and created from the characters rather than the situations.

In addition, the romance was cute, though predictable. However, being under the umbrella of the comedy genre, it didn't get too cheesy and it was well paced, which helped a lot.

Finally, the performances were enjoyable by everyone in the cast.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

Writing it as a Non-Korean

One of the most repulsive first episodes (because of too many Korean linguistic puns, which I think it was hard for non-native speakers to understand and laugh on).
But continued watching it out of perseverance, and finally when it was getting better and I was feeling connected to the characters...the series ENDED abruptly. I didn't see that coming at all.
I always prefer smalled no. of episodes but this is the first time I am saying about any series that it should have had 16 episodes. Not because the story was good, but because when I was finally getting connected it just ended

you know typical dramas where the cool hot sexy ml is assertive and stuff like hey i like u lets date, and then the fl is like omg me 2!!! and then love- yeah thats super cool and idk bout u but im a sucker for those type of dramas. BUT what if the roles were swapped_? ┌(▀Ĺ̯▀)┐
welll worry no more!! this drama got ur back. the fl is spicy hot confident and the ml is cute and clumsy and they falll in lovvvve!! both are green flags and do communicate! (´ε` )♡

this drama was so entertaining and i guarantee u wont be traumatized by sad backstories or anything like that! just office romance while tryna hide it from others. super cute super fun and funny!!

also love love love the fact that the supporting characters get sm spotlight cuz goddamn are the funny. personally my fave was aziz. . mans ate.
also if u are gonna finish this make sure to watch the last ep until the end!! like the end end!! cuz theres a cute suprise waiting! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧

Best comedy of 2022!

This short format, fast paced kdrama is not only packed to the brim with sizzling comedy, but also somehow managed to pull off one of the most charming and well done romances I've seen this year, even though it's just one of the subplots going on in it.
The funny lighthearted plot, pacing, acting - everything's excellent.
All the cast did a stellar job and I thoroughly enjoyed watching their hilarious characters navigating through various situations at their chaotic workplace and after it.
It's a very bingable show, a surprisingly great comfort drama and rewatch value is very high. A solid 9, highly recommend!

Trying for "The Office" vibe but most of the jokes fell flat for me

8/10 is my rating. It was good, amusing at times, but not great. Worth watching if you don't have something more engaging to watch. I think I would have liked it more if I understood some of the jokes which are deeply rooted in Korean culture. There were whole scenes where they were doing a play on words and it was supposed to be funny but it fell flat for me as I did not understand it. I also felt like the chemistry with the main couple was "off." And the second couple, she friend zoned him and it never went anywhere. I think they were trying for "The Office" vibe and it just didn't work the same for someone not in that culture. I liked it. Was entertained for most of the series. I recommend it for anyone that wants something more comedic than anything else. For the romance and office life I would not give a strong recommendation. There are much better romances and slice of office life dramas available. I wouldn't rewatch it.

Spoilers

Polyamory is sure being put in a lot of dramas these days. Maybe others might see it in a favorable light but not me. I am of a generation where that was considered cheating or two timing so I am not interested in that element. I would prefer it wasn't in dramas I watch but it was such a minor part of this one it really didn't matter much.

I did not like how incapable he was. I wanted him to come into his own or something but he never really did. Which made it less believable, to me, that someone highly capable like her would be attracted to him. It made their relationship seem unbalanced.

I have seen this mentioned several times on lists of dramas people enjoyed. But inconsistently. Like it does not come up every time or even most the time. And I can see why. If the jokes fall flat for someone, as they did for me, then it would be less enjoyable.

Synopsis

This is a 2022 South Korean Workplace Comedy Romance Drama with 12, 45 minute episodes.

Lee Sang-sik (Kwak Dong-yeon) is an overly enthusiastic junior employee who is always messing things up and causing issues for his supervisor Cha Na-rae (Ko Sung-hee), While she is really tied of cleaning up his messes she realizes he is actually a very nice person. She doesn't mean to get involved in his personal life until she realizes he is being used by the woman he has been crushing on for years. Mo Hae-young (Lee So-hee) is not romantically interested in Sang-ik, but is instead stringing him along to get him to do tedious things for her. Na-rae cannot stand that her subordinate is being played in such a manner and decides to help him. Since they are neighbors she finds herself involved in his life way more than she originally wants to be. However, as the two get to know each other both inside and outside of work they develop feelings for each other. This series is a comedic look at office life with a healthy dose of romance thrown in.

Short, warm, friendly & funny

It looks like I'm describing a person but it was similar to meeting this friendly, bubbly & weird character that you want to chat with often to lift your spirits up :)

To be honest, to me, it was more weird than funny, both the characters and the story. But they still quickly piqued my curiosity and it was like I was growing attached to the weirdness which made it all cute and hilarious. Lol, this is sounding less and less like a review. But that should suit this drama which is also a bit bizarre in my opinion.

But ya, zero seriousness but still covering a daily office atmosphere and a rom-com and some sarcastic turns on makjang sprinkled along the way. Definitely worth a watch to put you in a silly mood.

A quick, light hearted, stress free pastime

"The more things change, the more they remain the same" a drama watcher has more or less came across this theme before if you are a fan of that like me, this ones for you. The episodes are short and the dramas only 12 episodes long you won't feel the time fly by.

And as the title says, that's all that this show is- there's virtually no major story in play here just a bunch of well cast and funny characters that ease you up. And without like giving away too much the non cliched way of ending this show was a good touch to it too.

Kwak dong yeok who was impressive in Vincenzo, is very good at playing the role of an adorable fool. The chemistry between the cast, that is the main strength of the show, its just fun vibes all around with these dorks.
