Love to hate relationship

This is a show, I can say I have a "hate-love relationship", hate and trash the characters but love the story🐻

The characters have lowkey trash mindset on certain topics, but that's precisely what sets this show apart—they're raw and real, unlike the typical sugar-coated leads.

This reminds me of lakorns, except without the constant screaming 🤣 The show is wild, prejudiced, biased, sexist, misogynistic, and what not, but it does provide a somewhat realistic portrayal of human behavior. Specifically, it acknowledges that people with such attitudes exist, both among men and women.

My favorite part was FL's character; she was independent, hardworking, and had a great deal of self-respect for herself. Although I didn't always agree with ML's opinions, he still had endearing qualities, and I appreciated his character growth by the end of the show.

This is the NOT a type of show where you hear comments like "Oh, ML is such a nice person," or "He does so much for her," or "I want someone like him." Instead, it's about learning how people typically behave in the real world and not glorifying or romanticizing it, but rather calling it out for what it is.

Overall, one should watch it for the plot not characters because I was amazed by how non-cliché it was; it unfolded in ways I never expected. The characters do have problematic mindsets, but as I mentioned, it's reflective of how many people are out there. And the ending was satisfying!

Thank you for reading my review^^

MI RAN IS JUST AMAZING!

I absolutely loved it!!! So refreshing and incredibly well-done.

Mi-ran was just amazing! Her character was so uniquely strong and kind—a perfect combo. And can we talk about the whole cast? They were all spot-on, like their roles were made for them. Kang Ho was a pleasant surprise for me; it was my first time seeing him in a drama. Did some digging and turns out he's mostly known overseas. Watched a film of his too, and I found him even more charming and lovely here! His real-life story with his wife? Adorable. Total respect for him as a person. His acting was so interesting too—goofy in a good way. I feel like that's probably his real personality shining through: a lovely, loyal lover and kind-hearted guy. He nailed it! But okay, confession time:DO WON JIN STOL MY HEART EVEN MORE !!!! He's just so charismatic and seriously, sooo handsome!!! Yep, his looks initially drew me in, but he's also an awesome friend and manager—super sweet, caring, smart, funny, and a true gentleman. Ugh, can't get enough of him!!!

Overall, loved every minute of this drama except for the last two episodes. The writing took a weird turn and had me cringing hard. I also skipped through a bunch of Mi-ran and Kang Ho's moments—they felt unnecessary to me. So yeah, adored it up until ep8. Definitely going to rewatch it over and over though!

3RD Time watching this drama (totally worth it btw)

This drama is a sweat critic to current k-dramas and how they portray female leads. I believe it also showcases the problems that the Korean society has towards patriarchy. I can't believe the rates for this drama aren't higher.

I love the chemistry between the leads and the way they showcase that respect is the first step into building a valuable relationship and it shouldn't revolve about saving a damsel in distress. It also has laugh out loud moments which will make you enjoy it and romance is obviously a part of the equation.

Enemies to fake dating to lovers.

Just watch it if you want a bit of taste of what it actually is to be a women en Korean society.

I was a bit disappointed by the tears, I wasn't interested in the 2ndery couple eventho I liked them as the leads' friends
Fl is more independent, confident and quirky rather than strong, with extra emphasis on quirky with a dash of crazy
I didn't like her start and didn't enjoy him repeating how different she was from other women.
Both were prejudice but she was like "hm I was wrong about men they're not all bad" and he goes "I've never met anyone like you, you are not like other women" which shows who was more prejudice

But I appreciated their romance and relationship. The way it started without anymore misunderstandings and continued smoothly until the half of last ep ruined it, their effortless love, confession and skinship was also a nice dose of healthy relationship as apposed to the usual kdramas
Things were fast cuz the short ep count but still they had 2 fake/real breakups and over reactions

I didn't like how they made her cry, as if crying makes her not too overboard not feminine
I wanted her to coolly charmingly claim him back I didn't enjoy his sulking as "soft revenge "

Totally binge worthy

It literally has been a while since I binged something so good. I’m still recovering from the lack of sleep, but it was totally worth it.
Simple story, dead gorgeous cast, amazing ost and what more?
It was just the dose of fresh air I was looking for with a splash of feminism and no unnecessary drama.
Not to talk of how effortlessly funny it was.
If you haven’t watched this yet, I’m not sure what you’re waiting for.
Don’t mind me, I’m just on my way to google the cast so I can stalk them 😊😌

Enemies to lovers is possibly my favorite trope of all time and I also love fake dating, so a combination of the two was right up my alley. I was not immediately sold on the show and it took me a couple of episodes to feel invested, but I ended up loving the leads and romance. I did feel like the reasons they hated each other at the beginning felt a little bit forced and didn’t resolve in a very satisfying way but I always appreciate the tension that enemies to lovers trope brings.

The show does have a pretty progressive and feminist lens, at least by kdrama standards. The male lead is fully aware of the female lead’s past and he stands by her completely. It did bother me that the show seemed to really harp on how he was drawn to her because “she’s not like other girls”, but it did bother me a little bit less because to her, he’s also not like other guys, so at least it went both ways.

I love when dramas don’t stick to the 16 episode model and allow themselves to be shorter, but the characters backstories were not as well-developed as I would have liked. It seemed pretty obvious that her issues with men stemmed from her dad’s treatment of her mom, but it was never really explored in detail. The male lead’s issues with women seemed to stem from his mother but they seemed so extreme and then just resolved immediately, with very little explanation about how his ex played into it.

I love when dramas show adult relationships in a complex and realistic way, which this show did really well. Once they get together, the main couple is very affectionate, they communicate well, they tease each other in a very sweet and good-natured way, and they very clearly support and trust one another. I would have liked to see more of them being happy in a relationship, but I do appreciate that this was a legit rom-com, with no wild unnecessary side plots. This was a super fast watch and it was overall a great time.

Fun rom-com with a baddass female lead

Enemies to lovers? Fake dating? Male lead with an illness/trauma that the female lead magically cures? You got it! This has every cliché k-drama trope in it but it's done right. Light, engaging and funny from the beginning to the end.
Things I absolutely loved about this show:
1. Ms. Choi Soo-Jin
2. Fl who beats people up.
3. Fl and Ms.Choi's camaraderie.
4. Second ml's hair.
5. Ms. Choi.
Oh did I mention Ms. Choi?

All the actors did a great job and the chemistry between the leads was great too.
There were a few scenes where the fl made me roll my eyes but she makes up for it by kicking ass!
And I'm very happy to tell you (this is very important to me) , I didn't die from the cringe! In fact, this had no cringy scenes at all and it was a nice surprise.

We have a straight forward fl and ml who don't beat around the bush and actually communicate about what they want. The mature relationship they had was nice to watch.

Loved the stunt scenes too. I was hoping the movie director would talk in the end but I was disappointed.
I wish we could've seen more of the fl handling cases and beating up thugs.
Those were the only disappointing things about this drama.

This year has been great for rom-coms. First Crash course in romance and now this one!
More Rom-coms of middle-aged people please!!

The best way to describe this show is really a huge mess but kind of a fun one.

The harmony at the beginning of each episode is 10 out of 10!

The production is really pretty but I expected that if its going on Netflix. Mi Ran is a weird character though I like her the way she dressed up in all black beating up a thief lol it's giving Revenge of others. Her dancing skills are top tier! and her interactions with her boss are funny af.

I love the bromance from Won Jun and Kang Ho! Now all I need is some sismance between Mi Ran and Na Eun <3

The show wasn't really funny the only funny bits is subtle scenes I don't know why because I'm big fan of over exaggerated comedic acting but this is just not for me also the entire plot is founded on Kang Ho liking Mi Ran because "she's not like other girls" and it genuinely pisses me off.

The way I feel about Kang Ho is literally the title, it's a love and hate relationship I really do love to hate him, I try not to because I know for a fact later on we're going to need to like him but sometimes he just opens his mouth and I'm just like can I sew it shut please!? I beg, what do you mean as a birthday gift you get to go in one date with me no-one wants to go on a date with you!!! But then they kiss and I'm like maybe one date won't hurt also I was side eyeing Won Jun so hard, what do you mean Mi Ran triggered Kang Ho's attack!! If anyone crossed the line it's him, all she did was kiss him back.

I'm a big fan of fake dating so everything before episode 5 I might just forget it and pretend that the series starts from there because so far episode 5 has been my favourite.

YES YES YES YES UMM YES!! GET THE BESTIES DATING IM ALL FOR IT!! BECOME MY FAV COUPLE RIGHT NOW YESSSSSS

Mi Ran has problems with men and doesn't get along with her dad while Kang Ho have problems with women and doesn't get along with his mum. The mummy/daddy issues are jumping out right now...

Na Eun was wayyy too into Won Jun just cause he's good looking like he is but please let there be some character development where she sees his good sides and He stops being kinda of a jerk, trust me I KNOW he's good looking but control yourself girl.

I feel like there was a better way for information to get traded in this series because why is Won Jun telling Mi Ran Kang Ho's entire backstory?? And vice versa to me its like a betrayal, total betrayal of privacy.

Kang Ho's before and while liking Mi Ran was too different there was no smooth transition, makes it almost unbelievable that he actually likes her. Might have been the goal but I don't like it cause we're watching this from a third person perspective not first. Kang Ho and Mi Ran's relationship was also moving too fast, I feel like I was missing something. Maybe I just didn't expect this from a Korean drama or it genuinely just had a shaky foundation.

I LOVE YOU?!?! Y'all just started dating for real TODAY!?! the pacing is so messed up... (don't get me wrong my feet were kicking and I was twirling my hair and giggling while it was going on but damn I love you already?!)

Okay the plot is "you're not like other girls" but it's more like "you're not like other girls I KNOW" (cause trauma) which still annoys me but I'll let it slide.

The baby voice kills me the second this girl is in a relationship her personality does a 360 lmao but Kang Ho baby talk "doenjang-jjigae" is way cuter than hers, it wins by a mile <3

The main character's respective best friends sitting down so they can crush each other's hopes in dating each other even though I'm pretty sure they like each other is the weirdest thing I have ever witnessed in a drama. It's like when couples say no you hang up first but instead it's no you crush my hopes in ever dating you, first please. Was weird but I like them so I'll settle for the scene but Na Eun, you play too many mind games.

The longer the show goes on the worst it gets tbh.

Won Jun and Na Eun please stay away from each other cause these games are actually stupidly annoying. The girl in blue with Won Jun at Kang Ho's party though damn, got me rethinking my entire sexuality how can yo u look so gorgeous!!

The whole secret relationship thing I also thought they could do it but why didn't they tell their friends that was the dumbest shit ever, you can't be vigilant 24/7 you need someone to have your back and I was trying to yell out all the time TO TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! And then after they created this mess, Kang Ho is here like hyung, otoke?? YOU SHOULD HAVE OTOKE FOR SOME ADVICE BEFORE!! Why does Won jun have to now clean up your mess, you did whatever the fuck you wanted before do that now. Now Kang Ho is trying to guilt trip his bestie into helping him, he was there for you before and you LIED, y'all don't deserve him for real.

Won Jun and Kang Ho fighting like children, I love them!! Tbh I have a love hate relationship with the entire cast except Soo Jin my baby does nothing wrong <3

I really enjoy Mi ran and her ex together a mess but a fun one.

The best way to describe this show is really a huge mess but kind of a fun one.

When Won Jun is on screen there's only three emotions 1 I am infatuated with his looks 2 laughing because he is hilarious or 3 I'm cringing like now as he shows up in the Limousine, literally paused and threw my headphones because what the actual fuck am I watching?? I can't do this, please stop! the second-hand embarrassment is too much. At least he's self aware so *shrug* it was cute... please don't do it again.

Won Jun and Mi Ran are actually pretty similar, the anger, the casual dating, the type they fall for, the exes woah.

I feel like I was settling down in a bad relationship because this is what I think is the best that I deserve!?! Why did I let half of the problems of this show slide?? and settling for mediocre plot just because they gave me a scene with the couple I like which by the way wasn't that great either. This was bad I don't know why I'm being soft about it, others might like it but I didn't and that's okay. If u hate clichés, me too but this wasn't as bad as I thought, though it's full of clichés, so still bad.

I swear some scenes are not on the script unless they are genuinely just that good; There is absolutely no way that the lawyer walking into the door was planned in script, when Kang ho kicks his slippers off and throws the photos to then accidentally hit a vase is my favourite scene it's so out of character yet still in character so cute!

A character’s story

This has some of the best character development ever written. Each character starts out with deep seated and earn prejudices. Through mature dialogue the characters begin to see things from a different point of view.
The writers pull out all of the stops to bring forward a story that not embroiled with jealousy, backstabbing, and petty behavior. The main couple overcome adversity with maturity and humor.

The story is simple and basically unoriginal (but what story hasn’t been told a hundred times already). What sets this one apart is really understanding how an individual character comes together with another to create a true companionship with someone they were originally closed off from. Their relationships are refreshing and delightful.

This one will show you that with open and honest communication relationships can stand against any storm. Misunderstandings can destroy happiness, therefore communication is essential. That is what this drama brings that most purposefully avoid.

It is was incredibly fun to watch.

Valuable lessons for both men and women

Refreshing take on the romance between stars and regular people, in the way there is nothing ordinary about the leading lady. She is beautiful and fearless, needing no rescue from any knight. Both however are brutal toward the opposite sex, which is the only thing - beside the violence that was so exaggerated and unnecessary, not in the slightest way funny! - that bothered me here. I have learnt that the way people behave with other people shows their character and how they might behave towards you once the spark leaves the relationship - and that's why I didn't really find that amusing. However the characters in the story did change their ways and became better people, and their relationship really was sweet and mature. I liked also that they weren't shying away from the steamy kiss scenes too, that made their relationship more believable.

The bromance between Won-Joon and Kang-Ho was great and quite hot, so if you are into LGBT, you might like it.

I wasn't impressed by supporting roles though. Na-Eun seemed to me too girly and weak, and I couldn't figure out Won-Joon's character. It might be the script's fault, because he was just the same toward everyone. For what I've seen he could have been in love with Ms Choi, Grace, Kang-Ho and Na-Eun equally, his emotions were everywhere.

Overall, if you can get past the gratuitous violence, you may like this story. It is not only because of sweet love-hate romance. The message here is strong that people are not objects to be played with, both women and men, and reputation is just an euphemism for slavery to fickle and generally vicious public opinion. That's what makes these kinds of stories hard to believe to, because we know in today's world it's impossible to maintain healthy relationships under the constant scrutiny of the public eye. This series tried to show us how cruel and inconsiderate public can be, and maybe somebody watching this can learn something from it.

Girl crush

I enjoyed this drama very much.

Mi Ran was definitely my favorite character. She was so strong, independent, smart, multi-talented. I loved how she exceeded at everything she did, her job, her side gigs - she was so funny and I loved watching her. I was thinking of a headline and 'girl crush' is really the only thing that comes to mind for my overall review of this drama. When I watched episode 1, that's the word I kept repeating over and over again whenever Mi Ran came on screen. Kim Ok Bin acted really well with this character.

Kang Ho was a funny character too and very adorable/relatable at times. He was so full of himself in the beginning but it was cute/funny to watch.

I loved all the side characters too - the company CEO was such a funny character, loved his bromance with Kang Ho. Even the Gilum Law firm employees were actually really fun to watch too. I was thinking they'd be misogynistic twats because it's an all-male law firm but everyone was pretty cool and unserious so they were fun to watch as well.

The only thing that fell short a bit for me was 1) - the chemistry in some of the playful sex scenes the leads had and 2) - the last episode.

For 1): Both Ok Bin and Yoo Tae definitely had chemistry, no doubt about that. But there were some scenes (really just one or two scenes, I think) where they were being playful with each other that just looked a bit..awkward (?) to me. Like, it just felt more like they were playing a couple that was being playful and less like a natural thing that they were doing. I only felt this way in a few scenes between them. For the most part, the chemistry between the two leads was HOT AF so it's not like I got that awkward feeling throughout the drama. So this point is very very miniscule but still just wanted to mention it.

For 2): I already gave a short review of my feelings on episode 10, but to expand on it - I'm just a bit dissapointed at the direction they decided to go with how Mi Ran reacted to the public's opinion of her. For all 9 episodes, we've come to know Mi Ran as this strong woman who stands up for her ideals and doesn't cower in the face of opression, but then when the public comes at her for her past history, she decides to break up with Kang Ho (the second time!) - even though Kang Ho was ready to give up everything for her at the moment. Like honestly, realistically, I know breaking up makes sense, because most of us have seen how knetz/public opinion has ruined lives of people through canceling and whatnot...but 1) this is a drama not reality and 2) in the context of this drama, more specifically, in the context of Mi Ran's personality, I was hoping for a change not another cliché where the couple breaks up because they cannot handle the negative press. I just wish the writing was different and the public didn't make a big deal out of her past in the first place when it was revealed or at the very least, since we know public opinion will always be bad in those kinds of circumstances, I was hoping at least they would show us a refreshing character that decides to say "F- you" to the public instead of giving in to them. I'll give them credit, there was one scene where Mi Ran did stand up for herself but they still had to break up so I was just fed up. If even a character like Mi Ran cannot handle public opinion, who can? Sigh.

I look forward to watching a drama where the couple continues to stand strong in their love despite the circumstances until the stupid public realises that they are the problem. Or until we reach a point where writers don't need to use public opinion as a trope to create drama and drive a wedge between couples in the first place.

Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

Anyway, don't take my above rant to mean I didn't like this drama. I really did enjoy it. All 9 episodes were so fun to watch and my mood was only dampened for a few minutes of the last episode so that's not a bad ratio. It all can't be great, I guess.

If you're in the mood to laugh and watch a strong female character that makes you feel refreshed and you want to watch a sweet romance blossom between a beautiful couple, then look no further!

Whatkeep youhooked themost are thecharismatic charactersthat you'll findyourself loving very quickly

This drama made my principals waver and I defended an ex-sexist guy. Jokes apart this show is great quality in my opinion, even the scenes with some cringy comics editing that aren't my thing managed to fit the overall vibe and be funny. Both of the main characters have many aspects you can love and hate, and the fact that you will end up developing affection towards their flaws is insane and shows how charismatic they're, especially the female lead. The main couple's chemistry is great and their ralationship is everything. This kdrama excells in comedy, romance, rationship developement, etc. Very enjoyable watch. I don't remember the music so I gave a high rating.
