I am reading the Manhua first frost so I'm really not expecting much. I just find the leads beautiful and their appearance has 100% chemistry. I didn't read hidden love(Not because I dont like it it's just that age gap isn't my thing), so i wouldn't understand why they say it's not their Sang Yan. For me who is reading first frost (Manhua is still On going), this drama made my Sang Yan and Wen Yifan come to life. Some of the scenes are exactly the same it amaze me. Sang Yan is really handsome and Yifan is very beautiful just like i the Manhua. Yifan's character is just that, she's quite and cold, even when they are living together. Sang Yan is really shameless and he loves only Yifan which is exactly shown in the drama. One of the scenes they change that I preferred the Manhua, after Yifan saw her uncle in an accident and when she and Sang Yan kissed and sang yan made her choose if she wants to eat or she wants to kiss more. I was expecting she would choose kiss more since that's what happened in the manhua but sadly she's more hungry for food in the drama.
And she run away again? I dont know if this will happen too but I don't think she will do that. After dropping the "Don't hurt the people around me or else" something like that to her uncle, I don't think she will do that to Sang Yan again. Cause after realizing how he suffered after she left, all she want to do was love him wholeheartedly.
Overall I don't have much expectation but I love it! I waited for episode everyday.

So beautifull!
As a huge fan of Hidden love, i was a bit afraid that this would be somewhat dissapointing, man i was so wrong!!Though this spinn-off is a bit darker than Hidden love, is is just as beauifull. They really did justice in giving it the same feels when watching it. Also very good to see there were several moments from Hidden love in it, so it really felt like the two drama's belonged together.
Sang Yan and Wen Yifan reminded me so much of Sang Zhi and Duan Jia Xu. Though it was a darker drama, it still had enough funny and sweet moments. Sang Yan and Wen Yifan had amazing chemistry.
I also adored the second couple, they also had very good chemistry.
The visuals and music were also very beautifull. Really no flaws to find in this drama.
I won't rewatch it as much as Hidden love, but i will definatly watch it again!

TOP 1 FAV CDRAMA
I just finished this. SOLID 10/10. That's it. I've watched hundreds of modern c-dramas, none can beat The First Frost. The visuals, acting, story, OST, cinematography.. everything was beautiful. My heart aches for Wen Yifan, she literally deserves her Sang Yan. Also, they both looked so good together on screen. Good job Bai Jing Ting, Zhang Ruo Nan & the whole TFF team! Love every bit of it. 🤍❄️ As of now, here is my top 3 favourite.1. The First Frost

Best Chinese drama ever made.
I rewatched this drama again today and obviously loved it again.so I created another MDL account with my twitter account and rated it 10/10 ratings.This drama is really good,This was my first Chinese drama. This drama was broadcasted on February and I am still on this drama.I am not a fan of Chinese dramas ,I believed that every Chinese dramas are lookalike with a same setup, costumes,old buildings and every story with prince or emperor.This drama was totally different,it felt like a Korean level drama,Infact I can easily place it on top 3 best drama on combined list of best Chinese and Korean drama.Both lead actors have a great chemistry with each other.Was this review helpful to you?

I just finished watching The First Frost, and I have to say — what an absolutely beautiful drama! Their on-screen chemistry feels incredibly natural, making their characters’ emotions and relationships deeply relatable. have to say, Bai Jing Ting looked incredibly handsome throughout the drama! Whether he was dressed casually or in more formal outfits, he carried himself with such charm and elegance. His expressive eyes and warm smile added so much depth to his character, making it impossible not to fall for him.Zhang Ruo Nan was equally impressive, bringing grace and authenticity to her role. Together, they made the perfect on-screen pair, delivering a heartfelt and memorable performance.The First Frost isn’t just a drama — it’s an experience. What I love most is that she proves you don’t have to shed your femininity to be strong. Strength is about endurance, about standing your ground when the world tries to shake you.
San Yan, on the other hand, is far from the stereotypical “prince on a white horse.” He doesn’t swoop in to rescue her; instead, he sees her, understands her, and walks beside her, trying hard to fulfil her unspoken wishes. Their relationship isn’t built on grand gestures or unrealistic tropes—it grows through mutual respect, struggles, and moments of quiet understanding. Kudos to the Second couple, who did a great job as well. I do love FL's best friend, she's always there for everyone but sometimes fails to be seen when she needs others. But that did not stop her from taking care of her friends. I guess her 'to-be boyfriend' is a testament to her kind soul.
Finally, the cinematography is breathtaking, the storytelling is nuanced, and the chemistry between the leads is nothing short of magical. Every interaction, every glance, and every conversation carries weight, making it impossible not to get emotionally invested.
If you love stories that celebrate strong, well-written female leads and romance that feels deeply authentic, The First Frost is a must-watch. It’s not just a drama, it’s an experience.

The First Frost feels like a warm hug on a cold day gentle, emotional, and full of heart-fluttering moments. Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan’s chemistry is just perfect, making every interaction between them feel so natural and touching. Their love story, from old classmates to unexpected roommates, is a mix of sweetness, nostalgia, and healing.I absolutely loved the proposal scene it was so beautiful and heartfelt! And the sleepwalking scene? That moment when she hugged him was just too adorable! It made my heart melt. The cinematography is stunning, the OST is lovely, and the little details like the way he looks at her when she isn't watching make everything feel so real and magical.
Hidden Love will always be my favorite drama ever, but The First Frost has now made it into my top 5! If you love slow burn romance with emotional depth and heartwarming moments, this drama is a must-watch

Best chinese drama of all time
Everything is perfect in this drama. This drama deserves rating of over 9. I guess peoples(fans of other series or actors) are envy of its success.The First Frost is an emotional masterpiece that took me by surprise. With its heartwarming story, deep character development, and breathtaking cinematography, this drama effortlessly pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

I’ve not even finished this drama yet and I’m confident enough to say I really really like this. the music is beautiful. the acting is great,and the plot leaves me wanting more. so much about this drama keeps me wanting more and I like so much about this. if you like a more relaxing but also funny at times drama then this is for you. the fl and the ml are amazing. not only are they stunning but their acting is great. Honestly, that's all that I want to write, but mydramalist doesn't accept this much length.
I'm not good in writing reviews, and I can't write things the way it is actually in my mind. But when I say this is a beautiful and must-watch drama, trust me, it is. I have been a long time drama and film lover. I've watched romance genre ever since, and believe me when I say that a certain drama is a good drama. I have high expectations when watching dramas, and I would immediately drop it if it's cliché. And this one isn't. It's a masterpiece. Noticing that the names of the characters are quite the same with Hidden Love, I searched it up. And to be honest, it's way way way way way better than Hidden Love. It doesn't convey "love" as any other cliché drama— where it all happens fast. Although the guy had a love at first sight, this drama still showed deep love all throughout. It showed what really love must be like. Though it's quite unrealistic to see a guy to be in love with the same person for years, and maybe forever.
I don't know why I was quite let down by the first episode's cinematography and production, but I'm glad I continued watching it all the way. I was not disappointed, but rather pulled in to witness such a heart touching love story.
Everything about this is just IT. The actors are perfect, the production, ost, and storyline. This is now my most favourite out of all.
