Love is Becoming Each Other’s Light
The First Frost is one of those Chinese dramas that really gets under your skin—in the best way possible. It’s not just a simple love story; it’s a beautifully layered journey about love, heartbreak, trauma, and the slow, painful, but ultimately hopeful process of healing. As a spin-off of Hidden Love, The First Frost follows Sang Yan and Wen Yifan as they navigate their way back to each other after a complicated past. Across 32 emotional episodes, their story unfolds with missed chances, unresolved feelings, and a slow-burning connection that tugs at your heart. It’s quiet and tender at times, heartbreaking at others, but always deeply human. Whether you watched Hidden Love or not, The First Frost stands strong on its own — a drama that reminds you that love isn’t always about grand gestures, but about growing, forgiving, and choosing each other even when it’s hard.
₊˚⊹♡ Sang Yan and Wen Yifan’s story begins in their youth — a sweet, blossoming romance cut short by painful circumstances. Years later, fate reunites them under one roof, forcing them to confront all the unresolved emotions and heartbreak they’ve been carrying. The narrative is enriched by a dual-perspective approach, with each episode presenting both characters' viewpoints, offering a comprehensive understanding of their internal struggles.
This is not a fairytale romance. Their love is built on lived experiences — on heartbreak, distance, silence, and healing. What follows is a tender rediscovery, a slow and powerful reconnection built on empathy, emotional growth, and quiet, persistent love. ♡
₊˚⊹♡ Bai Jingting’s portrayal of Sang Yan is nothing short of brilliant. He’s not your typical drama heartthrob — he’s gentle, emotionally intelligent, deeply kind, and patient. His love for Wen Yifan isn’t loud or showy — it’s steady and real. From the very first time they meet to the moment they find their way back to each other, his feelings for her never waver. Watching his journey — from a confused, heartbroken teenager to a man capable of setting aside his pride for love — is incredibly moving. Bai Jingting brings so much to this role: vulnerability, warmth, and unwavering devotion. Sometimes, he doesn’t even need to say a word—just one look from him, and you feel everything. The love, the pain, the hope. It’s all there, right in his eyes. ♡
₊˚⊹♡ Zhang Ruonan delivers a breathtaking performance as Wen Yifan. Her character is layered and heartbreaking — a woman carrying invisible wounds, quietly surviving in a world that has scarred her. You can see the guardedness in her eyes, the weight of her trauma, and yet also the flickers of hope when she begins to open up again. Her transformation — from running from her past to facing it with strength and grace — is portrayed with such authenticity that you can’t help but feel every step of her healing. Her pain, her fear, her hope. It’s raw, it’s real, and it stays with you.
₊˚⊹♡ The chemistry between Sang Yan and Wen Yifan is the kind that doesn’t scream for attention — it simmers quietly, like a soft flame that never goes out. It’s gentle, warm, and so emotionally rich that you feel it in your chest. It’s not exaggerated or overacted; instead, it feels natural and genuine. You see their love in the way they look at each other, speak to one another, and quietly care in the smallest of gestures. What makes it so special is that you don’t just want them to end up together — you genuinely hope they heal, find peace, and learn to breathe easier, both on their own and as a couple. Their love story isn’t just about romance; it’s about growth, forgiveness, and coming home to someone who sees all of you and stays.
₊˚⊹♡ The cinematography, the incredible OST, and the use of flashbacks gave this drama the perfect emotional depth. Every frame captures the ache, the nostalgia, and the quiet joy of rediscovery. The visuals, paired with the music, wrap around you like a soft blanket of emotion.
₊˚⊹♡ The First Frost is absolutely worth watching. (ノ^^)ノ It’s a well-written Cdrama with a beautiful story, unforgettable acting, and amazing OST. This is one of those rare dramas that stays with you long after the final episode. It doesn’t just tell a love story — it tells a story of wounds, of resilience, of facing life’s harshness, and slowly, carefully learning how to heal.

The First Frost – A Love That Stays Forever
The First Frost has completely consumed my heart, wrapping itself around me like the warmest embrace. From the very first episode, I knew this was something special...something that would leave a mark on me in ways I never expected. The beautifully woven storyline, the raw and heartfelt emotions, and the depth of every moment made it more than just a drama. It became an experience. But if there’s one thing that truly owns my heart, it’s Sang Yan.
He is everything and more. The kind of man who makes you believe in love, in warmth, in safety. The way he was always there for Yifan, quietly protecting her, always putting her first, always shining for her even when she didn’t realize it...he was her sun. And now, he is mine too.
Seeing Yifan find her happiness in him after everything she went through was one of the most satisfying, emotional journeys I’ve ever witnessed. It wasn’t just romance; it was healing, understanding, a love that felt so real it ached. It made me realize how much I’ve always longed for something like this, how much I’ve always wished for a love as steady and unwavering as Sang Yan’s.
I’ve been a K-drama watcher since 2013, but The First Frost did something that no drama...not even my most beloved K-drama....has ever done. It completely took over my soul. My first C-drama was When I Fly Towards You, then Hidden Love, and now The First Frost...but this one stands above them all. Nothing else even comes close. No drama, no story, no character has ever made me feel the way Sang Yan does.
Bai Jingting was born to play him. Every glance, every small expression, every tiny moment felt so effortless, so real, as if Sang Yan had stepped right out of the novel and into my heart. Zhang Ruonan’s portrayal of Wen Yifan was just as breathtaking...she made me feel Yifan’s pain, her resilience, and finally, her well-deserved happiness. Their chemistry? Undeniable. They made love look like poetry, and I’m not ready to let them go.
Now that it’s over, I feel so lost. What am I supposed to do with my life now? How do I go back to a world where I don’t wake up every day excited to see Sang Yan and his Yifan? I know I’ll spend years, maybe decades, looking back at my 20s and remembering this feeling, the needed feeling of wanting a love like Sang Yan’s to find me. But what do I do when Sang Yan is too perfect, too great...even for the fictional world?
He’s not just a character to me. He’s a dream, a feeling, a standard, a blueprint for love itself. He is, and always will be, the measure against which all love stories...fictional or real...will be compared.
And somehow, I already know no one will ever come close.
But despite all the heartbreak, I wouldn’t trade this pain for anything. Because loving these characters, living through their story, feeling every ounce of their joy and sorrow....t was all worth it. They gave me something irreplaceable: a love so deep it left a mark on my soul.
I know the actors will be in other projects, but it won’t be them. Not my Sang Yan with his golden heart and soft smiles. Not my Yifan who fought so hard to deserve happiness and finally found it in him. I refuse to accept this reality.
Now, that world is closed, and I feel so lost...like someone took away my safe place, my little pocket of happiness. I don’t know how to let go. I don’t even know if I want to. Because The First Frost wasn’t just a drama to me. It was a feeling. A love. A fleeting moment of magic that I will spend forever longing for.
Just like Sang Yan once said..
"I've finally caught the shadow that haunted you. From now on, your world will only have light."
May he always remain my sun, just as he is to Yifan. Let me cherish this moment, holding onto it as if time itself could be paused. I refuse to let go of them, for they are the light I never want to lose 🥺

Not Hidden Love but BETTER
I'd like to start off by saying that for all you Hidden Love fans who've been waiting for this (spin-off? prequel?? not sure...anyway) the only similarities you will get are some of the character names, locations and one song from Hidden Love played at OverTime, Sang Yan's bar. This drama has a completely different vibe, tone and cast. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of melodramas because they can be dark, dreary and draggy but this one had me hooked! The story: As I said before, you're not going to get the light-hearted sugary fluff here like we got with Hidden Love. (WARNING: This story centers around the FL's past trauma of abandonment, loss and s*xual abuse. So if any of those topics are triggering for you I do not suggest you watch this show. Nothing is shown to the full extent and the romance is still plentiful/ beautiful but her trauma is a big part of the story.) The OST and cinematography are drastically different as well. This drama is way more adult and lays on the real-life issues thick. For a melodrama with a dark setting, I was expecting a slow/boring start. But there is A LOT going on within the first 2 episodes in terms of drama and interactions. Right out of the gate our FL has already been put through so much. It's almost hard to focus on the love story with how traumatizing her life is. But seeing how strong and genuine of a person she is, you can't help rooting for her happy ending. The slow burn is intense and has a very organic feeling so it's not frustrating at all.
Main Characters: Wen Yi Fan is a very sad character and not your typical FL. She's timid and soft spoken with these innocent doe eyes and a sweet disposition that just melts your heart. She's not just pretty but adorable without acting silly or babyish because Her mannerisms and microexpressions are naturally cute. She is also kind of ditzy and bad at math, which she manages to make endearing somehow. But she still has a good heart full of compassion, resilience and strength and that shows in every decision she makes. At first, it's strange to see a character like her as a journalist because she isn't naturally aggressive light most journalists are. As the show progresses she explains why she loves her field so much and it's because she can help people like her through telling their stories. This is all probably why she has such a chokehold on our poor Sang Yan. Zhang Ruonan was perfectly cast for this role. Her beauty was on full display and her acting just got better and better. All of her emotional scenes had me ugly crying with her and it takes a lot for me to cry during a drama.
Bai Jing Ting's Sang Yan is different than Victor Ma's but appropriately so. But his style, pride and arrogance are still the same. He needed to be more serious for this story but also charming. It helps that BJT has the eternal face of a high school boy but the voice of matured man, with how many flashbacks we get here. We see a completely different side of SY here which is his bleeding heart that is glued to WYF. Even though it's clear that she hurt him in the past, it's like he is programmed to automatically give to her and help her. It's both sad and endearing actually because in the beginning, although he cares for her, he doesn't trust her enough yet to tell her the real reason he does the things he does for her. Yet, he still never really punishes her for rejecting him in the past. And that's a testament to how deep his love is for her and how pure his heart is. He stalked her a lot back then but once you learn he made a promise to always be with her, it becomes obvious that it was out of concern. He's always sensed that something was wrong back then and although he didn't have the confidence to confess to her all those years they were apart, he still took it upon himself to be her guardian angel. My heart was so full once they finally got together because their obsessions with each other only grew. Sang Yan really is the perfect boyfriend. He's always just what WYF needs and he helps her to heal and grow with confidence. I thought BJT killed this role.
Side characters: Siqiao is easily one of my favorite 2FLs of all time. She is smart, hardworking, and a great friend to WYF. When Xiang Lang rejects her, the thought of being bitter towards WYF doesn't even cross her mind. She's WYF's cheerleader and support is every situation and doesn't give her bad advice like drama bffs usually do. I also love that within her own life, she takes care of everyone around her but when it comes time to seize her own happiness, she doesn't get desperate and jump right into something with Su Haoan. She knows he's been jumping from one bad relationship to another so she tells him to court her and fall for her slowly, so that he can learn how to be in a healthy relationship. I found this really impressive and mature of her.
Su Haoan was funny and good friend to SY but other than that I didn't feel much for him. Xiang Lang is very handsome but has the personality of a block of ice so I didn't care for him.
Sadly Duan Jiaxu and Sang Zhi are only side characters and honestly added nothing to the story accept familiarity. But their unimportance really doesn't affect anything for me. This drama stands on it's own.
Finally...the family from hell. I don't think I've even been more disgusted with a drama mother. This woman has no soul and my heart broke for WYF this whole drama because of how she was discarded time after time. Although her aunt and "uncle" hurt her tremendously, I still hate her mother the most. Because if her mother had cared for her properly, none of the horrible things would've happened to her.
OST & Cinematography: I liked the OST from Hidden Love. This one isn't better per say, but the songs are still catchy, and fitting for the drama. The one song from Silence Wang is my favorite. I couldn't help but laugh while it played when SY was walking up to the noodle shop in Beiyu in the rain. It looked just like a music video.
The cinematography is brilliant. I don't know how to describe it but along with the solid directing and writing, the whole production was gold. The transitions, camera angles, layers of color and lighting really draw you into the emotions in every scene. Especially when there is no dialogue the scenes speak for themselves. For example, when WYF is living in her first place and the trains go by all day, casting non stop flashes of light into the room and off her face you can feel how depressing her life is. Or when SY beats up those guys who threatened her, all lot was said with no words in this seen and not having dialogue here was way more powerful and effective. Even the lighting in their apartment looks romantic and dreamy when they're together. But when she's not there the rooms look grey and somber. The attention to detail was flawless and the set team really created the perfect setting to fall in love. *chef's kiss*
The ending: Perfection...I don't think I've rated a drama a 10/10 since LBFAD. This drama was a masterpiece from beginning to end. The writing, the acting, the chemistry, the pacing, the cinematography, the overall story...all perfect. I don't even know what drama to start next because the bar is so high now!
EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS:
-Dian kitty is so adorable. I want one just like him.
-EP 4: WYF being bad a math is kind of adorable and we can tell SY acts annoyed but thinks so too.
-EP 8: SY is WYF's sun in her dreams and in real life. He brings her warmth and light in her dark life. The romance and poetry in that just gives me the feels... Then it's the morning after our first stolen hug and WYF wakes up like she just had the best sleep of her life, meanwhile our poor boy SY is still sitting wide awake in bed all disheveled and frazzled. Oh the power of one hug from WYF XD
EP 9: More math struggles for WYF lol That umbrella check SY gives the intern (I refuse to use his name) was great. I sympathize with SY during the movie. I'm also scared with him bc the movie clips they showed were actually terrifying. But WYF trying not to laugh at him is too funny/cute. "Jobs are looking for me" LOL typical SY comment.
-EP 11: The misunderstanding with both Sang Yan and Jiaxu in their robes at the breakfast table. Siqiao's laugh is everything. For someone who is so prideful and arrogant, SY never ever truly punishes WYF for hurting him in the past. I think because he's always had a gut feeling that something else was going on based on what he silently observed when they were in school.
-SY babyproofing the house.
EP 12: WYF must have never seen someone drunk before because SY's act was not good. Hilarious. But not good...However, SY man handling the intern and throwing him over his shoulder like a ragdoll...very good. He emasculated that boy for life. The next morning...I've never seen someone get into an elevator in a sexy way but leave it to SY ;)
EP 14: There's not much else to say in this episode other than YAY. Also SY's bed does look more inviting and comfortable. Where did he get that set of sheets from?...And he definitely came out of that shower shirtless on purpose. His hand gestures are so funny as he follows her around the table complaining that she always handles everything the same way. I would assume he was faking drunk again if he hadn't ended their conversation with that vulnerable request she stop spending time with other guys and then coming home and feeling him up LMAO
-EP 15: WYF having enough emotional intelligence to not believe that SY is being nice for revenge when people suggest that. WYF's self control because if BJT dared me to violate him I would have to take that dare
EP 16: If this phone can't contact WYF anymore SY doesn't want it anymore. Time for a new one.
-EP 17: WYF is slowly gaining confidence and opening up to the women around her. She's finally having girl talk with her friend at work and bff and it's great to see her finally caring about herself and her feelings. Hopefully she will open up to SY soon because it's definitely living with him that's giving her her self worth back! And Siqiao is actually a great friend. She's hardworking, there for WYF whenever she needs her and doesn't give terrible advice or act annoying. She's very down to earth and cute.
- EP 18: SY SHOWING UP at the noodle shop in Beiyu. SWOON. And then their sweet confession outside in the rain. And then the flashback to remind us how she broke his heart under an umbrella last time, but they are now reconciling under similar circumstances in the same town. Ahhh, it's been a while since a romance had me smiling and giggling like a school girl. In the epilogue when they show him from the back walking with the umbrella up to the noodle shop with the song playing, it reminds me of the most romantic music video I've ever seen XD
-EP 19: SY doesn't even know about her s*xual abuse and yet can sense how skittish she is so he only teases verbally, never pushes the limit physically. Also these two are equally obsessed with each other which is making for the cutest honeymoon phase ever.
-EP 20: Okay, I'm a puddle on the floor. Someone come mop me up! The first official kiss on the ferris wheel was perfect. I love how SY starts wearing khaki colors now because WYF likes it. Their first dinner together and I'm crying too. WYF is just so sweet, earnest and beautiful. If I was a man she would have me wrapped around her finger too with how sweetly she's opening up and showing her vulnerable side. Also SY saying "Just like your choice in partner, you deserve the best of everything." lol another typical SY one liner.
EP 21: I'm happy that Siqiao doesn't want to be a rebound or liked just because she helped Haoan and now he has hero syndrome. She's really smart and strong for saying that to his face. She's also weary to trust him because she knows he's a hopeless romantic and she's seen the type of girl he previously dated. She also tells him to fall for her slowly because she knows how quickly he's jumped into things in the past. I really like and respect her. She's quickly becoming one of my favorite 2FLs...I'm still rooting for them because he seems to have woken up and realized what type of woman deserves his devotion and special treatment. They are both givers and it's time they both received.
EP 22: I appreciate the attention to detail. WYF's dorm in Yihe is identical to Sang Zhi's in Hidden Love. The intern's confession is silly. He thinks he's more important in WYF's life than he is. She never cared what he had to say lol Moving on...this couple walks in a room and turns heads. That whole wedding was admiring how good they look together. Drunk WYF is too funny. She's definitely me when anyone tries to wake me up. SY is a GOOD BOY. Really shows how much he loves and respects her, all the restraint he shows. She really makes it hard too because she is velcro when she's drunk. Couldn't help but laugh watching him pull her fake eyelashes off.
Dislikes:
-They dress WYF like a school teacher sometimes. But I realize she doesn't like to draw attention to herself or believes that she deserves to buy pretty things to wear.
-WYF's mother & aunt (actually loathe them both)
-how much she gets obsessed over and sexually harassed. There's no denying that WYF is beautiful but it's a little dramatic to think that every male she crosses paths with is a deranged pervert. The incident with her uncle is traumatic enough but then adding in her first roommate, her old boss, her new colleague etc...It's just a bit much. We could still get the point with less of this.
-SY getting a "real job" just bc WYF asked if he had one besides the bar? Since when is owning a bar/restaurant not a respectable business? Idk, thought that was weird and unnecessary but maybe I'm missing something.
-new creepy college kid with a crush on her. He's an aggressive little weasel and makes my skin crawl.
-EP 12: WYF's weird drunk kitty/SY hallucination. It was supposed to be funny but it just weirded me out.
-how low her self worth/esteem is because she was discarded when she was young. She doesn't believe SY has evil intentions towards her but she doesn't believe he could still care about her or that she deserves him. It's so sad :*(
EP 14: Little intern, your words are irrelevant. She's just using you to buy time away from home. He's insufferable.
-By EP 22 I'm still a little disappointed she hasn't explained why she hurt him back then. She's though about it a lot.
-they're pushing the Pizza Hut product placement hard in this drama. Which is more funny than annoying I guess but as someone watching from the states where we don't have a lot of good Chinese food, seeing Pizza Hut is triggering lol Also not liking the game pen pals trope being introduced this late in the game. It's pointless and lazy writing.

The First Frost: Finding Love and Closure in the Cold
The First Frost is a touching and heartfelt series that explores themes of love, loss, and second chances. Set in a small town with a picturesque winter backdrop, the show brings together a mix of romance and personal growth as it follows the lives of its characters navigating life’s challenges. The central story revolves around a woman who returns to her hometown after a long time, reconnecting with old friends and rekindling past relationships while facing unresolved emotional baggage. The strength of The First Frost lies in its rich character development. The lead character’s journey is both compelling and relatable, as she works through the complexities of her past while trying to make peace with her present. The romantic elements of the story unfold slowly and realistically, making it easy for viewers to connect emotionally with the characters. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and their evolving relationship adds depth to the plot.
The small-town setting plays a crucial role in the series. It serves as a beautiful backdrop that not only enhances the romantic atmosphere but also reflects the inner struggles of the characters. The show’s pacing is steady, and while it’s not overly fast-paced, the slow build-up helps develop a deeper emotional connection with the characters and their stories.
One of the highlights of the series is its ability to balance light-hearted moments with more serious, emotional themes. It doesn’t shy away from dealing with difficult subjects, such as grief and regret, while still offering moments of hope and healing. This balance is one of the reasons the show is so engaging and emotionally impactful.
However, while the story is heartwarming, there are moments when the plot feels a bit predictable. Some of the twists in the story are easy to anticipate, and the pace can sometimes feel slow. Still, the charm of the characters and their personal growth is enough to keep viewers invested.
In conclusion, The First Frost is a beautiful exploration of love, forgiveness, and starting over. It’s a series that doesn’t rush its story but takes its time to let characters evolve and grow. While it may have some predictable moments, its emotional depth and the relatable journey of its characters make it a worthwhile watch for those who enjoy heartfelt dramas.

Another masterpiece
Zhu Yi doesn’t disappoint. If you love Hidden Love, you’d love this. I dare say I like First Frost better. It’s not a competition don’t get me wrong but this drama, I’m telling you, is near perfection. The journey in both dramas are completely different even though they are a spin off each other. I’ve been watching a lot of content on Tik Tok about this drama (even the algorithm knows how obsessed I am with the drama), there were many comments about the Sang siblings have healed Wang Yi Fan and Duan Jia Xu which is completely spot on. Just like Sang Zhi, you see Sang Yan quietly supporting and loving Wang Yi Fan from afar. Two very different characters but giving the same energy.
We often see “domineering CEO” plots which display the male lead as arrogant and powerful but turns mush when they meet the female lead. It’s rare to see a character like Sang Yan, this arrogant, rich and smart guy whose character remain consistent, be it in front of the person he loves so deeply, his friends or his family. Of course, there are moments when you’ll see his vulnerability in front of Yi Fan but it doesn’t feel completely out of character. That to me, is very interesting to see. For once, a pure love drama that doesn’t necessarily thrive on triangle love or jealousy - just one that shows a couple going through struggles and traumas in this journey called life together.
I have to say, considering the amount of details put into Hidden Love, I had the same expectations for First Frost. After watching HL, you can help but observe the timeline and similarities in terms of events in both dramas and I do see some disparities. However, that doesn’t really matter because they are meant to be spin offs and standalone dramas.
One major ick I had about the drama is the amount of screen time invested in the second leads’ story which 80% of the time I would hit the skip button. I wish they spend more time building the story between Yi Fan and Sang Yan.
Overall, this drama is surely topping the list of best dramas in 2025 so far. The chemistry between the leads are amazing and the visuals of the drama are so well done. Gonna watch this on repeat for sure.

Smoothest way the love can be flowing between two hearts
Sang yan was the greatest green flag💚 ever. The way he slowly composed the love between them was lovely. He was always supportive, always there for her. He let her overcome her own struggles while standing next her without interfering. That’s the best love you can ever give to someone. Plus I love the way how both of them realised their value on their own ways and keep their feelings steady. Acting was top notch and FML and ML chemistry unimaginable. The story line flow smoothly. No boring or skip scenes. Was this review helpful to you?
No matter what genre you love or hate you will enjoy this.
This is my first time writing a review as i feel that this show is worth it. have not ever seen a man as perfect as Sang Yan. I fell in love with the character so much(no homo) that I found myself smiling as soon as he comes on screen. I have watched episodes as they released and truly felt the essence of each and every second. The songs compliment the scenes so much. My favorite ost now is by Silence Wang 像晴天像雨天(电视剧《难哄》心动曲.I also truly felt the emotions of wen yi fan. I felt the pace was perfect for me. The post credits have equal amount of importance and they provide such a good angle to the story. The sweet melo romance of them connecting back is so lovely.
My personal favourite parts that I have rematches 100s of times and clipped them are the scenes of her sleepwalking and him teasing her the next day. Oh the butterflies you will feel.
This is truly one perfect drama. You should give it a shot no matter what genre you like. You will love this drama.

A Levelled Up Cinderella Story
This is a Love Story drenched in Deep, Heavy Sadness. The female lead, Yi Fan, is Extremely Unlucky. She was born into a happy family, but after her father's death, her life took a hard turn from Joyful to full of Suffering. Still, in the middle of all her struggles, she's Deeply Loved by the male lead, Sang Yan, a guy who’s Incredebly patient, kind, and has a heart of gold. 😍
Bai Jing Ting (Sang Yan) and Zhang Ruo Nan (Yi Fan) totally nailed their roles. The chemistry between them? Off the charts. The emotional scenes hit hard, and yes, the kiss scenes are the real deal, no awkward lip-pressing here. ❤️
If you’re a hopeless romantic who watches with your Heart, this is a "Must Watch". You’ll fall hard for this series. Yi Fan, despite being kinda immature and selfish, is basically a Cinderella blessed with a perfect Prince Charming in Sang Yan. 👩❤️👨
I’m seriously impressed by the original writer, Zhu Yi. The script is full of poetic and touching lines. One moment that got me was in Episode 30, when Sang Yan piggybacks Yi Fan after she says goodbye to her toxic mom. She breaks down and says, “No one loves me anymore. Only you.” And he replies, “I only love you.”
WHEW!!! That hit me right in the feels. 💘
If you’re the rational type, you can give it a try, but no promises you’ll love it. There are a few things that just don’t make sense logically:
First: Sang Yan isn’t just a green flag guy, he’s a whole green forest. Guys like him don’t exist in real life. I mean, sure, kind and loving guys are out there. But one who sticks around and still loves you even after you’ve hurt him for no good reason? Yeah, not likely. 🤔
Second: After Yi Fan left Sang Yan before college, Sang Yan kept quietly visiting and watching Yi Fan from afar. If you look at it romantically, it’s sweet. But from a logical angle? Kinda stalker-ish, not gonna lie. 😅
Anyway, that’s my review. I’m not a big fan of Cinderella-style stories, but for me this one is REALLY SWEET! 🥰🥰🥰

Really love the actors. Falling in love with Ruonan too.
This drama is spectacular and so cinematic. I really love both leads and now I don't think if I ever love a characters besides them. I love it's slowburn scenarios and each episode were such a healer to me. Definitely my favourite drama out of all. Also, doing all these just because of this drama. The First Frost really set my standard too high when it comes to C-dramas.Was this review helpful to you?

Best acting from male actor and female actress
I would like to say this one of the best c drama I ever watch in my life, and the way the director did smart thing every little thing omg can not forget how much I love this drama for real it just like I can’t find a man like Sang Yan but Wen Yifan is lucky to have him cos she deserves someone who love her like that. Was this review helpful to you?

No other show has left me bawling
In a way, Wen Yi Fan models every single girl out there. Every woman has anxieties about losing her family, not being loved by her loved ones, being harrassed, ending up lonely, and so on. In her case, all of the above happened. Through all these horrible things that will leave any regular woman in shambles, Wen Yi Fan fights her way back. While she has many difficulties along the way, she makes it out to be the best version of herself. At least the best to her limits. But it is a fact that everyone needs another beautiful person to complete them.Sang Yan. Sang Yan was heaven's gift to Wen Yi Fan. In the beautiful city of Chongqing, through teh cold and rainy days, this show brings out teh story of two vulnerable people lost in this world without a direction. I know Sang Yan may seem very privileged, but sometimes, many feel lost despite having everything. Happiness is relative; hence, there is no formula to it. With Sang Yan, money and familial harmony just could not provide him enough to keep living as it did to protect and love Wen Yi Fan. Many say Sang Yan is too perfect to be real, the type to only exist on TV screens. However, what we do not understand is that every one of us. Yes, every single one of us. Deserves a Sang Yan.
I am not going to gaze Sang Yan here because he is perfect. However, there is one detail I want to point out about him. This is not something we see in today's guys, but Sang Yan is vulnerable. He shares every single emotion with his partner and is not afraid of exposing his thoughts and concerns. He always jokes to YiFan about "don't treat me like a flower"; however, that is exactly what we humans are. Fragile flowers with limited time. Now, let's talk about how Wen Yi Fan became Wen Shuang Jiang. WIF was very comfortable with this nickname in high school when her dad was still alive. However, during her dark period, she lost her identity. She lost her family, her dreams, and almost the most precious possession of women. Dignity. Yet she fought back. She protected herself very well to finally become teh Wen Yi Fan Sang Yan met many years later. She never asked for anything more than simple happiness and was satisfied with literally anything. She has "zero temper" and never really wishes for anything in life. It is when u silently do good things without expecting anything in return that you will get the best rewards. Wen Yi Fan inspired me to be a good person. Her natural beauty and grace, along with her simple and kind nature, is exactly what got an exceptional guy like Sang Yan hooked. But ironically, being like her is the simplest thing in the universe.
As a teenager, I am scared of having nothing in my life. Failing in academics, disappointing my parents, not finding a good husband, and so on. But there is one fundamental that I must never forget and was reminded of by this drama: good things will follow good people. As long as u drive to become teh best version of yourself and bring others along the way, you will meet your Sang Yan. I will meet my Sang Yan. And so will you.

Masterpiece
The leads chemistry is perfect.. This story is not your basic cliche kisses and hugs romantic story. It covers some really serious topics like workplace abuse, domestic violence, toxic parenting and S.A. It's a story of courage healing confidence and trust. It's a slow burn romance.OST theme is true to the intense mature understand relationship between the ML & FL.
Casting is epic. Both the artists are true to their skills, professional and talented. They got the depth of the character. Overall I'm highly impressed.
Definitely one of my fav c-dramas.
