One of the best.
This is one of the best Korean dramas I've ever seen. The story is quite unique & has everything you want in a BL series.I've just watched it for the third time & I will watch it again in the future. Other platforms now have it rated as high as 9.9 which is mostly down to the lead actor being in Boys Planet 2, I would say. The emotions he conveys in this series are quite impressive, hopefully there will be more from him.

Im hurt that its over...
I don't usually write reviews, but this time around, I have to.The series grabbed my attention from episode 1 until the last episode.
I just finished it, and I must say I'm so hurt.
Don't know if I'm hurt because it was too short . I don't know if im still hurt because of what Daon has been through. I also feel very sorry for the 2nd lead Su Hyeon who was used by that psychopath. I feel like he really did love Daon, but he didn't know how to express love and his family background also didn't help. He comes from a family of dictators , he couldn't have learnt how to love from such a background.I'm also happy that Daon ended up with the green flag guy, who is so perfect for him, who is not as complicated as he is. They are a perfect match, exactly what Daon needs to heal. This series will be with me for a very long time. Why did it have to be over so soon😒

THAT'S HOW YOU DO IT! THAT'S HOW YOU DO A BL!
It's been a long time since I've felt this kind of feeling while watching a BL, definitely a good drama with an amzing story and most importantly, the angst! I'm such a fan of this kind of drama with a heavy and heart breaking emotion, they gave what I wanted. The story didn't go too fast or too slow, no dull moments and such. Although I wish there were more episodes but I think 8 episodes was already enough and the delivered the story well with amazing twist and interesting recaps about their past life.I was not expectiong for kissing scenes or some intimate scenes knowing that one of the protagonist is a member of a Kpop group, but I was shocked when Daon and Seonghyeon kissed! That makes this drama a hundred better, they didn't try so hard to make it a BL without a kissing scene, instead they really did it and that's how you do it.
I love how the story progress and Daon relationship with each of them. I dont really like Jaemin since the first episode, I just dont get his vibe and I felt something is weird from him and I was right. As for Suhyeon, I felt sad for him because he did everything for his love towards Daon, but everything was a mess and I hate his temper.
Daon and Seonghyeon relationship was good, no awkwardness and I love how it develops. They portray their character really well and they have a strong chemistry!!! I would definitely watch more dramas of them together if it will happen.
This entry for 2025 BL was great, I fear how the upcomings BL will surpass this. They set the standard high! Anyway, I really enjoy it, I was kinda late since it was released last month but I'm glad I discovered it earlier than the others haahaha will surely rewatch it a hundred times! I highly suggest this series!

A Tale of a Blank Canvas caught in-between a Good Psycho, a Bad Psycho, and a Non-Psycho.
I guess binging this and not watch it weeks after weeks during the hype do change your perception of the drama.Do I find it better than most Korean bland, sappy poorly acting BLs out there? Definitely.
But is it a good story? Well err... I'm not sure. Instead of "Secret Relationships", I would call this "A tale of 2 psychos" or "A Good Psycho, A Bad Psycho, A Non-Psycho and a cute guy caught in-between though WHY are they all obsessed with him is a mystery" (yeah I know the last title is a bit long.
I went into this one not knowing anything about the plot. The ratings used to be way higher than this, but it has greatly diminished in the last few months... probably due to more recent viewers like me.
If we consider it compared to most Korean BLs... I'd say it's definitely one of the best out there. Doesn't mean it's necessarily good given how much they suck overall but still... HOWEVER if you compare to what it produced by Taiwan, Japan and Thailand ( and I know Thailand especially have some terrible ones, but they produce so many of them yearly that you do end up with a fair share of good ones), it's pretty average. It's longer than most Korean BLs but still too short for what it wants to tell. It's about time we moved to longer episodes. You can't fully immerse your viewers with such limited format.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this one... I don't hate it. But I don't like it either...but again I had all episodes available contrary to people who had to speculate for weeks about how cray cray they both were.
You know in a typical classic K drama we would have witnessed a redemption ark for Su Hyeon and I would be rooting for him instead of the obvious right choice that was Seong Hyeon. My drama red-flag lover self might be unconsciously disappointed I didn't get to watch this ship sail... because do I love my red flags turning green ( something that let's be real... is only possible in dramas). Also I will always be weak against overly possessive male leads. I know it's toxic, but sorry, not sorry, this is my drama jam.
All in all I kept watching for the two nutcases who were the highlights of this drama. Jae Min was truly sick in the head and made for a good antagonist while Su Hyeon was the red flag I wanted to win in the end . Next to them Da On and Seong Hyeon were just too bland as characters. Completely utterly NOT interesting.
Could have been better with Su Hyeon at the center of the story. I wouldn't have preferred a drama focusing on his journey to win back the blank canvas that is Da On whom he was strangely obsessed with... But the length didn't make this possible. Sad for what it could have been.
Maybe that's why I can't like this show I don't know. Given its short length, there could be no satisfying ending except for that one... BUUUUUUUUUUT I want the hate to love, enemies to lover, the toxic overly possessive jealous red flag turning into goop and having to learn to humble himself to get his boy.
Wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for the hype it got when it aired.
I know my heart should be satisfied with the ending, but I must be into sadomasochism, I will forever mourn that the Su Hyeon - Da On ship never was to be (also both actors had more chemistry in my opinion). Seong Hyeon is a good guy... but in dramaland, I will always root for the red flag as long as he genuinely cares ( but just doesn't know how to express his love in a healthy way), isn't overly manipulative and doesn't cross the rape line. In my head, I'm creating a longer timeline in which Su Hyeon properly redeems himself and wins back Da On who realizes it was always him, and not the other psycho. I'm sorry Seong Hyeon. You're "too good" for a drama.
I WANT THE TEA.

An actual Kdrama but with BL
This felt way more like a real Kdrama than the typical Korean BL. The episodes had length and actual content to them. It felt like we got a real plot with twists and unexpected revelations that kept me eager to see what happens next. It felt like a huge step up from typical Korean BL. The BL aspect wasn’t the main and only topic, could have just as easily been a straight Kdrama. Loved the longer than typical episodes. Really really refreshing to see from Korea and hopefully a big step forward for the genre. Was this review helpful to you?

Be fully prepared for an emotional ride and don’t forget to bring tissues ??
"Secret Relationships" is one of those rare adaptation series that takes you on a whirlwind of emotions—excitement, sadness, anger, disappointment, anxiety, and so much more. From the very first episode, it pulls you in with its gripping story and deeply emotional moments that stay with you long after you’ve watched them. But what truly makes this series unforgettable are its plot twists. Just when you think you know where the story is headed, it throws in a breathtaking, mind-blowing surprise that leaves you in shock. Every twist feels so natural yet so unexpected, keeping you on edge and making each episode impossible to look away from. If you love dramas that make you feel everything at once, this one is an absolute must-watch. 😍🤩💯✨

Highly recommended
I watched it. Liked it so much, I proceeded to read manhwa.I understand that it's not for everybody. Because the male lead can be a little bit frustrating and indecisive.
But I am fine with that. He had it tough growing up and he had those two (other two male leads) to lean on. It's not easy for him to identify what's health and what's toxic.
*******spoiler ahead*******
I really liked that they ended the series with the couple I was hoping for. I think it was pretty obvious from the start. And the only green flag in the show. (Greenest if you ask me).
So... yeah. This will have ups and downs. But I really enjoyed the ride.
Plus... the visuals :) manhwa and series are easy on the eyes.

I went in not having a clue what I was gonna get myself into and goodness me, was I put through a roller coaster ride.Just goes to show you can never judge a book by its cover.
Highly recommend!
This has got to be one of my favourite Korean BL of 2025. We need more of this but maybe not in a love quadrangle lol.

These men will show you what real crazy looks like
Honestly came into this with no expectation because I missed the hype train by a couple of months, however I was hooked from the first episode. I love character study dramas, especially ones where the characters are morally grey, but this exceeded my expectations. Some of the characters are just batshit crazy and I highly appreciate that - I had a lot of fun watching. The romance was an absolute joy to watch and the storytelling is amazing. It is very hard to fault, I'd recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for character focused dramas. Please heed the trigger warnings other people have mentioned though, this drama does contain depiction of physical abuse, emotional abuse, manipulation, self harm, and mentions of murder and suicide. Definitely err on the safe side and do not watch if any of the above themes trigger you.Was this review helpful to you?
A Treasure that must be found!
Who would have thought that a good drama can be found in an expected way. It was not a mainstream drama, correct me if I am wrong, but it was made just like one. I never had high hopes yet on BL from Kdrama not until I watched this series.Like what I've said, I click this series because one of its character ranked high in the monthly rating here in MDL. I checked who he was since I am not familiar with him (referring to Cha Jung Woo). I checked him also because he looks like Lee Jun Young in his picture here. And when I click his name, Secret Relationship is his latest drama so I got curious.
The first few scenes of the episode really got me curious. It is important to get me hooked on the first episode and this drama series just got me on the first few minutes of it. In addition, Kim Jun Seo looks good and charming in that few minutes so I decided to keep going. And as the story progresses, the one I thought was the conflict was not really the conflict but rather just part of the whole picture. I do not want to spoil much I love story conflicts, it made me wonder and made me hold on to the series. The conflicts was so broad and so deep. I loved it.
I felt the character of Jun Seo which is Da on. Hoping that we find love for someone like us, we tend to confuse kindness with affection. But on this story Da on was really cute and I believe he deserves all the love. I am rooting for the other character that was not chosen because I am really sad on how their love story turned out. It his fault, maybe it was for the best. I commend how the epilogues builds the "kilig (thrill)" and the back story. Epilogue made me root for that person. But the epilogue at the finale and the final episode itself, shows that the one Da-on's chose deserve his love.
The script was good and how the lines was made was actually on point. There are BL dramas that too cringey or not that realistic but the lines here are good and felt real. The story might be 0.01% to happen in real life, but it can happen. Even the obsession in the end can really happen and I love how they incorporate it in this series.
I hope you got the point. And it was my honest opinion. I really love this drama. It was on top of my BL list for now. I hope you can find this treasure as well!

Incredibly good acting
Secret Relationships is one of those BL dramas that catches you off guard and then refuses to let go. From the very first episode, it’s packed with tension, charm, and the kind of chemistry that makes every glance feel important. The storytelling feels fresh, and the pacing keeps the viewer completely hooked. One of the strongest aspects of the series is definitely the acting. Every character has a distinct personality, and the actors deliver them with so much sincerity that you can’t help but root for your favorites. I especially enjoyed watching the dynamic between Daon and the two love interests—it felt natural, funny, and emotional all at once.
However, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed with the ending. While it makes sense narratively that Daon chooses the softer, more gentle personality of Ju Seong Hyeon, I personally found myself wishing for Su Hyeon to be the final choice. Su Hyeon’s character had a depth and edge that stood out to me more, and I felt that his connection with Daon had a different kind of spark—something more complex and intriguing. That said, it really comes down to personal preference, and I completely understand why many viewers love the softness of Ju Seong Hyeon. He’s sweet, caring, and definitely the “safe” choice.
In the end, Secret Relationships keeps you invested, makes you feel things, and leaves lots to think about—even if the final decision isn’t the one you were rooting for. Whether you prefer the softness of Seong Hyeon or the intensity of Su Hyeon, the journey is absolutely worth watching.
