Was the sequel necessary?
Well, it's a cute story but it's really nothing to write home. There's a clear difference in how experienced the two main actors are which unfortunately caused one to stand out more. Also, the amount of technical filming to make the kisses look like real kisses was a bit off-putting in particular after the fact that the first part of this show didn't have it.
For me, it didn't add anything to the main story and even the brief presence of the two main characters from the Star in My Mind didn't really add to it. It had really nice moments of comedy but overall a bit disappointing.

Very Very Mediocre
What to say about this? I was excited to see it at first, but it didn't live up to my expectations. It contained a couple of scenes that were so utterly ridiculous, I just couldn't believe it. Fah, whom I liked in season one, turned into a narcissistic oaf in season 2. Prince did not have a personality. I didn't feel any real chemistry between them. It stirred but never took off. It's hard not to compare this story, at least a little bit, with A Tale of a Thousand Stars. Just without the good plot and wonderful actors.
By the end, writers were resorting to a nonsensical conflict to keep the leads apart and taking up extra time with characters from the previous series. If I were Prince, I would have told Fah where he could go by the end.

An enjoyable watch
Don't let the negative reviews let you write this series off before you try it for yourself. After I finished Star In My Mind I wasn't sure whether I was invested enough to continue, but I'm glad I did.Let me start off by saying that this show knows how long it should be. Too many BL series feel like they're trying to reach a certain number of episodes when the story would've worked better if it knew its limits.
This drama is sweet, witty, well-acted and the chemistry is on point, like, really damn good. The production is much better than Star In My Mind, which had some weird editing choices and audio issues in the first episodes. SIMM was nice enough, but I couldn't really bring myself to care about the main relationship. Here, however, I bought it from the start and thought the development was nice and organic, the balance between the characters talking and letting things be left unsaid was really nice. It could've used a bit more nuance by the end, but their actions were logical, both of them were riddled with insecurities for different reasons and it affected them in different ways. The actors filled in the blanks with their facial expressions and body language.
Obviously, it has tropes, but that's kind of the point. Most BLs are supposed to romantic comedies and I'm starting to see people expect something beyond that. It's great that there are titles that expand the genre in different directions, but still, most BLs always were and always will be romcoms, full of tropes, and one can only hope that the tropes will be utilised in a way that feels fresh and exciting and that's how this series, for the most part, managed to be. The biggest strength of Star and Sky as a duology is the way the characters deal with misunderstandings, instead of the typical jumping to the worst conclusions imaginable and blowing everything out of proportions, they act in character and in a way humans would. One could say the bar is low and one would be correct, unfortunately things like this are still all too rare in BL.
I rooted for the characters, believed their development, could read their emotions from their eyes and laughed multiple times at the jokes. Recommed if you want something simple and nice.

Still Better Than SIMM
Won't lie, this was a bit of a letdown, and even possibly a bit of a disappointment, but still, it's better than whatever the hell SIMM was. I think this series focused too much on the wrong things, formulating a tedious and sometimes irrelevant story. We also focused in some parts on characters that were the very least of my worries instead of characters I'd like to hear more from. Everyone is comparing this to 1000 Stars (which lies untouched and is still credited as the best GMMTV BL in my book), and of course, it follows a similar format with the countryside and a rich guy navigating his way through rural Thailand, but I think this will be the new norm of BL -- countryside love stories.Let's Dive In.
SIYH is about Fah, a busy doctor who gets himself in trouble, and to correct his mistake, he's led to the countryside of Thailand with his other two friends to take care of the village. There, he meets Prince, a secret Prince who works as the local teacher. There, they meet, they get closer with a few other complications, and the end. We also get other storylines that were so irrelevant to the plot and move nothing further along, which is why this series is kind of at a standstill for me.
For one, we're introduced to Yaya, the village chief's daughter, who grows a very quick crush on Fah and is all-around boy-crazy. We get an entire episode dedicated to her and being put in an arranged marriage. Bad? Yes. But do I care? No. And that's mostly due to the screenwriters making her so irritating and obnoxious that you can't care. Instead, they could've given us more Mesa, more JJ, or Prince and Fah. The same can be said for Toptap's character. Although I love him to death, he just wasn't needed. He was the very low-key jealousy that happened between Prince and Fah for just a little bit until one episode, it just felt like he disappeared, and considering that he didn't even show up until a few episodes after the first is a bit sad on TopTap's part. Same with Aun's character who was just vicious but with little story to back it up. These were the irrelevant parts I was talking about. Did it help to get our mains closer? Maybe, but there were other ways they could've done it that didn't make me want to ff.
Overall, the script could've been much cleaner and more precise. They choose a beautiful setting to shoot in and I feel like they didn't utilize it quite enough. They also had so much story to work with and they just chose all the wrong choices. The story grows boring somewhere in the middle, making it quite hard to want to watch. We get a lot of nonsense with Pince who falls randomly ill like 3-4 times and only because there was nothing else the writers could come up with. This is where I can draw similarities to 1000 Stars, but it's still its own series. I think we'll be seeing a lot more countryside-type BLs, but that doesn't mean we keep claiming them as rip-offs of 1000 Stars. It's like me calling every engineering BL a rip-off of SOTUS, but we don't do that simply because engineering BLs have become the norm, or in some way or another, the story switches it up to make it as unique as they can get it. That's what I get from SIYH, switching up a story that's probably going to continue to be overused and oversaturated give or take a few years.
Onto the romance, I was really intrigued with them in the first few episodes. Like, close to obsessed. I love the flirty/stubborn dynamic and this couple had it. Prince had very mini gay panic attacks anytime Fah did something flirtatious, but still he'd push those feelings aside to shoo the doctor away. And of course, he didn't stop trying. I talked a little about how their first kiss was very hesitant and gentle, kind of like a trial kiss, and that the others would be a lot more complex and deep, which I was right about. Now, their kiss scenes could've been better, but I've seen worse, so I'll let it pass. I think their chemistry really helped this series from being dropped, not only by me but by many. There were times when it could've been better, but for the most part, it was executed pretty well. Anytime they were on the mountain moon bathing their rocks or even when Fah visited Prince's hometown was when I knew this series was still worth watching. I think it would've even been better had they cut out most of the conflict and made this just a cute everything-is-perfect-and-nothing-can-go-wrong type plot.
But one romance I didn't feel the need to see was Duao and Kluen. They felt unnecessary to see each episode, (Fah calling Duao was fine, but it was the dialogue between him and Kluen that was just wasting time), especially with no progression in their love lives and seeing Duao decline Kluen's offers to kiss or do more with him even though they've been dating for a while now and it's just not ordinary for a couple like them to never progress. And if I had to hear Joong sniff Dunk's cheek one more time instead of just actually kissing it, then I don't think I could make it.
I wished we would've gotten more Mesa and JJ because they did so excellent in this. MIke never fails when it comes to being comedic, even when he's not even trying. Which is why I'm curious what his series with Krist will look like since it looks to be a bit serious. This is my first time seeing Arm in a GMMTV series (He was in Waterboyy and Our Skyy but I don't remember him at all) and he did so well. I was thinking the writers were trying to pair him and JJ up, but nothing. We couldn't get them and we couldn't get Mike and TopTap either. What a shame. The rest of the supporting characters did well. The kids were really precious in this too.
Ratings:
Story: 7 - still better the very mediocre plot that was SIMM. It had a bit more action and overall, Fah and Prince were enjoyable to watch together. I think other plots were pretty irrelevant and could've been unadded so we could get more time with the characters that mattered. I'll take 2 stars off for that and one for it sometimes going flat with no actual plot going on.
Acting - 8.5 - I think everyone did really well, especially Fah. Mark still wasn't 100% there for me. There were parts where he did excellent and other parts he lacked a lot in. Arm and Mike did really well too. Everyone else played their part well.
Music: 5 - Pretty basic and nothing extraordinary.
Rewatch Value: 3 - I could go back to watch complications of them, but not much else than that.
Excited to see this special episode next week. Hopefully, we get some loose ends tied tightly and see good progress with these characters. SIYH was a nice watch, could sometimes get a bit boring, but nonetheless, I enjoyed watching these two. I enjoyed them so much that I wouldn't mind seeing them in another BL paired together.

Not the most riveting story, but still a nice BL
A continuation from Star in My Mind with a focus on different characters, but this is better.I enjoyed Star in My Mind a lot despite relatively weak plot because the leads are lovable. Sky in Your Heart is surprisingly better. The plot is still not exactly top-notch, but it is pretty good. Fah, a doctor, meets Prince, a volunteer teacher, and we know what will happen.
Perhaps because the characters are slightly older and this is not another BL series with a university campus as its main setting, there is a bit more unpredictability in the plot. Prince falling sick, however, is an overused plot device to get things going and the writers could have toned down on it. Nevertheless, the leads are likable, just like in Star in My Mind. We feel for Fah because he is unable to get over his ex, but the series doesn't make this sappy. There are many humorous moments in the series with the joke being on Fah. And though I wish Prince were more rounded as a character, he is the sort of character that's easy to love.
Compared to Star in My Mind, the side characters here are more distinctive. Whether it's Fah's friends (Mesa and JJ) or Yayah the young lady or the comical Ou (nicely acted by Toptap), the side characters each have something distinctive. (In Star in My Mind, there are many side characters, but there's a lack of distinctiveness for most of them.) It's a pity that the pompous Ou seems to largely written out of the story after his initial appearance. The character has the potential to play a bigger part in the story, especially because some of the best moments in the series are the funny parts. (Watch out for the scene in Ep 3 when Ou offers to take a photo with Fah and his friends as a "present" for them. When the photo is being taken, JJ turns his back to the camera. It's hilarious, but I think it's also a deliberate allusion to the rumored falling out between Toptap and Mike, the actors for Ou and JJ respectively.)
Dao and Kluen from Star in My Mind appear every now and then despite being in a totally different place from the leads. Most of the time, it doesn't really make a difference whether they appear or not, but I guess fans of the DaoKluen ship won't mind.

The story between teacher and doctor isn't a new taste, plus its simple packaging makes this series easily to forget in a short time. But the chemistry between Mek-Mark was amazing, and even much stronger than Joong-Dunk, is actually the one and only attraction of this series.

Sky in your mind.
GMMTV has dropped it's standard. May it be money and resources issues or if covid affected the company too much, it's affecting on the quality of the shows. The last good series from them was NOT ME, THE SERIES.
CUPID'S LAST WISH was also great but they didn't release it in YouTube to get the hype it deserved.
From a probable rip off of 1000 stars to below average direction, I'm just not having it.
Who leans on to each other without any support from behind to fell asleep for the whole night?
I kinda feel sorry for the actors coz they are doing a good job with the acting.

ANOTHER IRRITATING LONG ADVERTISEMENT
I'll save you the trouble and tell you for free. DONT WATCH IT. It's an incredibly stupid series and I'll list all the reasons why.STORY. 1/10
Dislikes.(I really mean "hate")
There isn't any story here, it's lackluster with all the BL clichés, tropes and zero substance and even worse, it was so poorly executed, I can't stress that enough, the execution was the major problem. Same old story of two men who meet in an unlikely situation and caught feelings for each other and won't communicate, run around pretending to like each other, this story could have gone so so well but they ruined the whole thing, and since we're talking about the story, it's the writer and GMMTV to blame for this nonsense, they have this disease because they have an established platform to drag in viewers to watch misleading contents because they trust us to be stupid. This shit show and SIMM are the exact same but this is exceedingly worse. In fact, they are the same. They are just irritating in their own different ways.
Likes. So if this could had been executed differently because I liked the change of scenery, where the show was set which was quite nice and new for me and I liked the culture that was brought to play but they ruined the sweet memories I had, I hope by next year I forgot entirely I ever wasted my time on this.
ACTING. 1/10
Dislikes.
First of all.. 😂😂😂😂
What acting?
The leads especially can't act even if their lives depended on it, every expression is forced, movement, words, even the unnecessary pauses they take when talking is so infuriating my goodness! Just to extend the running time
To top it off, this is 2022 and Thailand are the lead in production of BLs(not the best products, they just produce a lot, for popularity and money) and yet GMMTV can't get people who actually know how to do their jobs? Why act a BL if you know that you can't execute a job when working with same sex partner, like why bother? For fame? To seek attention. Well you got it. Def not from me tho. Because these four men do more "acting" off screen than on screen and it's so obvious, you can't act but you're going out there being flirty and doing "skinship" omg. They are just the worst. If they put in that energy in the series as were supposed to this would have been better. You're acting like you like someone just so people could "ship" you and you'd get love and attention on a series that doesn't make sense. GMMTV encourages this unhealthy behavior instead of getting people who are suitable and want to work. Make a good story and you don't need to act like you anything but colleagues/friends off screen but no. They roll off the back of delusional fans that think they are cute when they absolutely are not. This is emotional extortion at its peak!
Likes.
The kids were even better actors than the leads and the second couple from the prequel that they kept shoving down our throats because they couldn't think of a better way to add substance to the show just how to bring in an advert every two seconds.
The kids were so cute and played the roles right on the money. brought lots of fluff and necessary chaos, loved them
The friends did a good I tried to save the day whenever they showed to the screen but really their efforts couldn't save this mess.
MUSIC. 1/10
Please don't get me started on how they play the same instrumentals every time 😭😭😭 to force some kind of connection or "moment"
It felt like torture. The tune was even better than any moment they were trying to portray but at some point, because they all played it in horribly acted moments, it became quickly associated with pain to my ears. Rolled my eyes every time it came on.
They didn't even put the effort to make good music or insert good songs to keep the flow
REWATCH VALUE.
0
Even if you want to kill time, this isn't it. It's better to stare at the ceiling, trust me
Because that's why I started it in first place, to keep busy till the good stuff I follow drops.
OVERALL.
It really shouldn't exist but considering it does, you don't have to see it. I've made the painful sacrifice of seeing it without skipping and this 6th episode just took me TF out, gave one the worst kisses I've ever seen, pretending to make it intense and oh they can't the tone on this lmao but it was still horrible, poorly directed and acted because the build up was quite good but then meh!
I'm honestly embarrassed for these guys. Especially Joong because he's so cute and deserves better than GMMTV.
They need to be thoroughly coached on acting, their workshops and get a director that knows their onions.
Oh well. That'll be it. There's probably more but I believe I've said all that needs to be heard
I've vented and tried to stay detailed and give credit to where was due while at it
GMMTV with the Queerbaiting and these obviously straight men who are gay for pay need to stop like seriously.
They need to understand why a lot of people are watching and it's not this. They need to learn to actually give proper LGBTQ representation because the stories of Queers need to be heard. You may not show all the dark parts but the least you can do is be realistic
I'm done with this company till they start doing better.
Rating. 1/10 and that's because I can't give any lower than that.
If you are really lacking what to watch this, pick something else, feel free to comment for suggestions because I'm open to watch all genres and from all countries and as long as it's good.
This is my first negative review.
I usually don't give bad reviews or comments neither do I like to compare because stories are different and I don't like to drop BLs but this can't be saved, I like to give them time to develop or just give a constructive comment but this left such a horrid taste in my mouth, I had to let it out.
Sleep instead if you have nothing better to do or even better go spend some time with someone you love or you could just go lay outside by yourself and stare at the Sky and Stars and trust me, you'll have a much better and more meaningful experience
Cheers.

THIS SHOW HAS EVERYTHING!
It's lovely watching BL in a rural setting, finally sth that isn't in school setting lol.Lovely to also watch the children in the show, it expands the storyline beyond just romance.
This show has a more mature storyline than the typical school setting BL, yet it still has that sweet, pure, innoncent touch that youth BL brings. I'd say it's a sweet spot, really nice, without unnecessary toxicity or drama
I'd say it'd be nicer if there are more intimate scenes, but even without it, my heart melted enough!
Furthermore, the fact that I actually like BOTH couples in this show, that means NO MORE SKIPPING parts.
Also, its not draggy, short and sweet and worth rewatching even!

LIGHTHEARTED ROMANCE and BEAUTIFUL STORY
Let me just share that I watched this after a year when I finished it's first part teh Joong and Dunk Part ! And yeah maybe its the perfect timen for me to watch it so anyways, lets go to my review. This is a feel good drama that we need after watching the disastrous, painful drama out there like this drama is a good balancer, this has a light heart story that if you look and understand it, it has a depth when it comes to dealing with relationships, and your own personality and choices in life. This drama is easy to love and easy ri understand like I think even it will be not everyone but more people will say that they liked this drama than of those who did not, the concept of a drunkard workaholic doctor and a volunteer teacher met and found love was so amazing, also the going to the countryside for a mission or something away from the city, away from every stress in Urban, like I like those concepts because I myself wanted to do that like I wish I could also just go to the provinces without getting worried about money and find love !
I like Prince and Koufah's love story, the realization part and the part where Fah thought that he cannot take care of Prince just like how he was not able to take care of his ex who was married already like , when he finally thought that he can change and he can really take care of Prince , it was so amazing , I mean I have seen so many movies and love story with this kinds of concepts but this will be one of the best of those, I love their chemistry, the joke and funny moments are not too much, my heart felt light and lovely after watching this
About the kiss I guess they could've done it properly but its okay for me, the production was simple but beautiful, few casts, and we can see that this was not as like prepared as the oter gmmtv dramas but there was no lacking for me for 8 episodes, it was complete and perfect for the number of episodes and the run time, love also the friends of Fah and the kids that support their love story. There was no stressful thing in this drama, I was actually surprised I would love this like this !
Mark and Mek have so much chemistry, I thought when I was first watching it, maybe this was a ship test or something, too bad that Mek has departed GMMTV already, I mean he has stayed there for a long time anyways so I'll just hope for a more success in his career, but personally they could've be one of the ships of GMMTV
All in all this drama is lighthearted, with a beautiful story, I think I would re watch this one again some other time !

The romance through the mountains that survives in the city.
After seeing ATOTS, all I wanted was another mountainside-based romance and thankfully I got that with Sky in your heart. It's a new trope that very few series can get right and Sky in your heart gets it checked. Seeing Mek in a Main role in a BL along with debut of Mark proved successful as their Chemistry was splendid, The Crew were awesome, The OST was beautiful and really makes wanna re-watch it again. Though shorter in comparison, it does finish it's story and leaves us complete. Can't wait for the Special episode next week. Watch it and enjoy their love story. Was this review helpful to you?
Like A Tale of Thousand Stars but …better? :O
I thought this would be a tired remake of A Tale Of Thousand Stars but I was wrong. I actually liked it better than ATOTS! (Fight me ahahahha.)You will notice many similar elements, which may be initially off-putting. There’s the rural mountainous setting, a cute volunteer teacher, rich urbanites who can’t get used to the village lifestyle and a sad backstory involving a traffic accident. It’s almost as though someone in GMMTV gave up brainstorming and said, “ayyy, let’s just recycle those ideas”.
As the second part to Star And Sky, SIYH doesn’t try to do too much in 8 episodes. While this means that the story compromises on the depth that you would expect from a full-fledged series, it makes up for it with compelling characters and tight writing. Most importantly, the chemistry between Kuafah and Prince is great.
Unlike ATOTS, which I found slightly complex plot-wise, Sky In Your Heart is a warm and fuzzy pick-me-up at the end of a dreadful day.
The only thing I didn't like was how their misunderstanding and concerns were glossed over pretty quickly in the final episode (prob due to to time constraints) so the couple is not shown working through their problems together. If you can overlook this detail, you'll be blown away by how Kuafah and Prince make for an unbelievably cute pair. I had doubts seeing them individually, but together, they’re really something else. Seriously, my cheeks hurt from all the smiling.
