Worst Timed Lunch in BL History
My true score for this series is 7.7Star and Sky: Sky in Your Heart is a continuation of the previous part Star and Sky: Star in My Mind. If you asked me if it's better? I can comfortably say: Yes.
The characters are more fleshed out, side characters are more likable, and don't feel like props. Peacing is also a lot better. While storyline and cinematography also look better than in the previous part (Or it's scenic village scenery that distracts you from it)
The whole story revolves around Doctor and Teacher who fall in love with each other in a small village. 8 episodes feel like a very short time but somehow it's more than enough in the Director and Screenwriter's opinion to feed us sweet scenes of the previous part couple in all-time weird timing. That why when Prince fight for his life sick (malaria) we have - TADAM - a sweet scene of Daonuea and Khabkluen flirting over lunch. It all you should know about timing on this series or therefore lack of it.
All actors really tried their best with what all watchers can notice "colorful" script - 10/10 for effort. I want to especially applaud the actor who played Prince who is a newbie to acting - he really did best he could with what he got. When for some reason - the wardrobe department seemed to have difficulty with finding him clothes that fit him ( Like really give him pants that don't look so ill-fitting), and other little and the bigger things that I will not mention because I want to keep this review short. Anyway i couldn't help noticing that with such a "colorful" series Prince sometimes give us this blank start - that perfectly gives off a feeling of - What I am doing with my life? Screenwriters and directors really should take it to heart before producing something like this again.
The script is mediocre, the execution of it is also mediocre while post-production editing feels like it was done by a drunk person...
Is this series Bad? NO.
Is this series GOOD? NO
There are much worse and better series than this one, it feels like a discount version of A Tale of Thousand Stars but still watchable enough to stay for 8 episodes. While the main couple is likable and has a cute storyline. I even liked their romance aspect till Prince suddenly got a sudden character change and started behaving like a heroine from a Victorian romance novel (Even in this genre I saw spicer romance). Anyway everyone probably already noticed that GMMTV has a problem with writing adults character that behaves like adults.
To sum it up if you have some free time give it a go, it would be probably a nice, sweet or even cheesy PG intro into BL genre. But if you look for something of more substance and plot-oriented or dramatic it might not be for you.

Mek saved the Show ((DR FAH)
Mek really delivered a variety of range in his role as Dr.Fah and I must say he really saved Sky in Your Heart with his passion. it was far superior to star in my mind but that isn't saying much giving the fact that that show was a hot mess. this show had so many plot holes and the finale felt rushed and all over the place. I really hope we see Mek in more BL's in the future because he is a really good actor since I began watching him in the Kiss series all those years ago playing Thada. Sky in your heart did have a lot of elements of a tale of a thousand stars but it did feel fresh and new in some ways. Was this review helpful to you?

I was confused when starting this.... ended up becoming one of my favourite
Alright, with the other star and sky, I was confused which one to begin with. But after this one I think I understand it better. This story is the story of the brother of Daonuea. And this story also plays a bit after: star and sky: star in my mind. For me personally I really liked this story more than the first one. This one is for me a bit more special, also because of one of the topics in this, countryside. I grew up on the countryside and due to that always really like these type of bl's. I do think the relationship is a little to slow in this one and especially for a series with only 8 episodes it could've been more. But it was small and sweet. I'm definitely going to rewatch this one since I really liked it :3

good actors but terrible plot
what is this plot about again? there is barely anything going on, what im saying the plot is not interesting at alland i dont feel like forcing myself to watch when im bored asf, this has nothing to do with the actors as they look handsome and i think there is chemistry, the thing is the main thing about a show is the plot so unfortunately even those attractive actors coudnt keep me watching this
this show remind me a bit of tale of 1000 stars (about the place, environment), but 1000 stars is an amazing show that have an actual good plot (someone getting a chance to live again, secrets revealed etc ) ,while this one doesnt have anything going on it doesnt look interesting at all so it just looked like a weak remake of 1000 stars
i did notice this about gmmtv, they give us few good gems (good shows ,good plot) while others are all about romance ,dragging too much and barely any plot is going on
good some people love it, it work out for them, i just dont feel interested when there is no story and nothing is going on, they fill the eps with scenes that have barely anything going on in them

i tried so hard to find a nice part of this show to latch onto but . i tried
I usually try not to drop shows until I watched AT LEAST up to the third episode, even with short series but I finally just give up and admit that I'm never going to get around to watching the third episode, or ever finishing this series.Nothing about this appealed to me. I've seen a lot of people call the story a 1000stars ripoff, and I've never really been interested in watching that in the first place, so watching an objectively lower quality ripoff of it? No chance.
This show's counterpart, Star In Your Mind, kept me engaged when the lead characters were lacking because their friends were amusing or likeable. Here, I hated Fah, Fah's friends, none of the side characters interested me at all, (most of which seem to be kids except for that village girl), Prince was fine but didn't seem interesting or endearing enough for me to continue the show solely for him either.
There's a lot of things about this show that I usually wouldn't mind (ex: characters with unlikable traits with a clear reason) but really bothered me here. Fah and the friends are just unlikeable, irresponsible, and yes, I got that Fah was dealing with the heartbreak of his life but I couldn't dredge up much sympathy for his DUI or trying to skirt his volunteer duties as a /doctor/. I get that was maybe the point since it gives a good reason for Prince to like him but the show didn't give me much insight to that hardworking caring brother that Dao sometimes mentions either, past all of his jerkish character now. Like, Fah and his friends are all grown men, which is why it annoys me even more to see them act so irresponsible and--these are more on his friends than Fah tbh--not to mention, immature and spoiled.
I disliked the acting, which usually I would mostly brush past if I liked the characters or story enough, but I didn't. I didn't see much (if any) chemistry either, but I've only seen up to two episodes where the main couple still mostly didn't like each other so I would take that part of my review with a grain of salt.
Sorry to the people that really seemed to like this series but I hated this lmao. If you liked it, good for you! But my personal opinion is that this was close to unbearable. Sure the story is less basic "why don't you guys just talk" plot of SIMM but personally I would that than me finding like 90% of the characters in the show so unlikeable and uninteresting that I don't want to stick around to see if they have any redeeming parts to their characters at all. If.

CUTE AND HEALTHY!
Beautiful storyline. While I thought the first part, Star In My Mind was boring, I found Sky In Your Heart beautiful. Their relationship development is beautiful and mature, they don't have stupid problems that the screenwriters create without fundament to fill blank spaces. It's cute, funny, adorable. And they have good chemistry, also, I think I'm in love with Mark (Prince). Happy that he's gonna be in Cherry Magic.
It's really really really adorable and enjoyable!!! Idk why it's such a flop :')

a whole lot of nothing
the average was an 8.5 stars out of 10. it wasn't bad but genuinely nothing happened. the actor who played Fah looked like he wanted to fuck everyone he looked at. it was more than i expected, but some how less than i expected. It was okay. Prince and Fah's dynamic went crazy, i liked it. they were both hot so it was okay. the plot kinda sucked, not kinda. It really sucked. Dao and his man had a serious off vibe to them. i don't know if that was just me but the off vibe. it was okay. the wheel chose our sky. hopefully better than this shit. good chemistry bad plot. Okay bye.Was this review helpful to you?

Short but sweet
There is really nothing that I can find to discredit this series, I found it way more fun and interesting to watch compared to Star in my mind. One thing I love about this series is that there are no 'filler side couples', the side couples that are just there to just fill in screentime. The story didn't drag on any misunderstandings, and I loved how they explored Fah's emotions throughout the series. Its relatively short compared to other thai BLs out there but the plot is refreshing (not a school romance) and if it wasn't for ATOTS releasing in the same year, I think this series would have been a big hit. Handsome and great actors, great locations, pretty-good feel-good storyline....nothing that screamed out WOW for me but definitely a recommendation if you want something good and simple to binge. Was this review helpful to you?

Cute and refreshing
I am totally completely in love with Prince. That guy nailed his role. I loved this one more comparing to DaoKluen story. It was simple. But cute. Good for binge watch. The guy who played Prince did a very good job. I get he didn't play anything before. But it wasn't noticable at all. He totally nailed his character. Also, in this part I love how the friends are matured than DaoKluen's. Well obviously because they are literally mature than them but I am saying as in they give mature suggestions to their friends as well. Overall it was enjoyable. I also have a feeling that actors who played kluen and prince would make a nice pair too. Hopefully we'll see them in a series together. **************Was this review helpful to you?

Cute
Thank God this was way better than "Star in my mind"...In the "fisrt season" they made little mentions to Fah and Prince future relationship, but in this one Dao and Kluen shown up a lot of time... I didn't like that, it's Fah and Prince story not Dao and Kluen... I'm kinda used to that already GMM always does this type of things.
I love Fah he's amazing, he kinda resembles me of myself so I think it's that that makes me like him so much ahahaha
Prince has an huge heart I'm kinda disappointed we sort of don't know anything about him, like why is he doing volunteer in the village? Is it because he wants to or he's suffering some type of punishment like Fah, Mase and JJ?
Overall I really liked it, it was easy to watch, it's a really soft BL and I enjoy that.

Far better than Star In My Mind
Director New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul has done extremely good job with this series.Setting of the rural area and giving chance to common villagers with simple faces to be part of this series gave a whole different flavour to the series.
Postive :
1. Giving chance to Mek in BL didn't fail. He is hot, flirty guy and faaar more mature. Giving that there weren't too many misconceptions, miscommunication and side chick issues. There were but they didn't drag it like SIMM series.
2. Location! It's good to see the rural Thailand and we didn't miss it's flavour in anyway. The food, dialect, houses, atmosphere, school, bathing scenes, sports activities, marriage, rituals and beliefs and welcome - farewell ceremonies. Everything was there. Audience could connect to series (Audience here refers to those who like surrounding elements added to give a meaning to the story. Not for those who only wanna see lead pair 24.7 doing kisses).
3. Side characters like Uncle Phang, Village Chief's daughter Yahya (Prigphing who is remarkable actress!) and child actors who played Somphor, Wee Ah and others along with TopTap, Mother of Prince gave the series that sizzling element which was required so the series.
4. Connections. A lot can be said but I liked they added a calamity in village scene. Everybody needed a doctor in dark monsoon's night and day. Cinematographically the scenes got bold in design. A dilemma given to Doctor Pha to choose between other patients and sick boyfriend gave a good twist for climax episodes.
5. Beauty and miniscule intricate details like holding lamps, giving lucky stones moonbathe, spicy foods, traditional clothing and Prince watching from window every night gave a realistic angle to the series.
Neutral Picks :
Pairing of Mek Mark may seem odd at first but their acting is okay. I wanted to cry with happiness in their kissing scenes but couldn't for some reason. (I think tears are best and honest reviewers to tell whether this series was exceptional or not. Be it sad or happy scenes, if your tears come out after watching lots of BLs, we can think the series is rather great in connectivity segment).
There was a room for improvement in lots of scenes. Some scenes didn't make sense but I will ignore them there since there are only 8 episodes and they are giving all elements as much as they could.
OST was again average. Not below average but not any iconic thing either.
Negatives :
1. I felt Sincere character was underused or not properly used. His advices were followed by Chief of the village. But why? What was their relationship that Chief didn't reveal hospital name to Mark? Why?
2. If there could be better finishing segment for Uncle Phang, Pong the Pig it would be better.
Overall this series tries to cover a lot of things to connect with audience and it is successful in that attempt. But this could be perfected in lots of scenes. It could be a masterpiece but falls short for that somewhere. I also felt Prince's character could be improvised too. He only waited for Mek to propose him, to find him. He could do that from his side too.
The concept of the story of rich men with good hearts living among simple people wins the hearts. Sky in your heart!

Much better than Star in My Mind, therefore I enjoyed it more
Sky in My Mind was a huge improvement over its predecessor. While, SIMM had its moments it certainty failed and dragged on with the misunderstandings. Fah and Prince actually talked to each other & listened. The misunderstandings they may have had were solved pretty fast and easily. I will agree that the drama in the last episode was cliche because that's why cellphones exist lol, but it only lasted about half an episode. I appreciated that it wasn't dragged out for 2-3 episodes which is common in BL series. For that alone it's one of my favorites. Not only were the problems solved quicker, but I do think the characters were more mature and didn't easily fall into the childish behavior that Dao and Kluen tended too. Did Fah and Prince have their moments? Yes, but never to a child's degree. That was a breath of fresh air.I also enjoyed the simplicity and romance of the series. Some scenes gave me butterflies and yeah, I enjoy cheese, so this was right up my alley. Think the setting being away from the big city helped SIYH achieve what it wanted to. Got to say the village where Sky was filmed was absolutely beautiful, took me right into the mood every Friday.
I'll admit Mek was the best part of this series. His acting skills and charm really did the heavy lifting when the series needed it to. I'm gonna miss watching him every week. That being said tho, for being a newbie Mark did a decent job. Although Mark still needs work especially in emoting better. But, he's much better than other newbies GMMTV & other production companies have put forward lately. I loved the chemistry between Mek and Mark it really made the series for me. May be in the minority but I think they had more than Dunk and Joong.
As for the music have to say the opening song is one of my favorites, used to hum along to it when it played. The rest of the OST was ok. Overall I give SIYH a 9.5 and will probably be rewatching when I'm in the mood to. It's def easier to watch than SIMM despite the drama in the last two episodes & for that it gets higher points from me.
