So much potential but...
As someone who adores the original work this drama is based on, this adaptation felt disrespectful to the warm and loving atmosphere in the universe created by the author of the Heesu in Class 2 manhwa.I think the actors played their assigned roles very well. The problem, according to me, all falls on the heads of whoever decided how the drama would play out.
The presence of a straight couple that did not even exist in the original work, the defiling of what makes the characters so likeable in the manhwa...it's too much. It almost feels like an attack.
In what alleged BL would you find TWO (as far as I remember) slow-motion scenes of the "side" heterosexual couple? Jiyu and Chanyoung weren't the side couple at all – Heesu and Seungwon were.
There were some scenes I liked, sure. The scene where Heesu comes out to his sister, the scene when he realises he likes Seungwon, their confession in the last 10 minutes of the show...this drama could have been incredible. But it just feels terribly executed on the whole. It's such a pity they completely ruined the essence of the source material.
The whole thing with Chanyoung and tennis? I mean, did it even reach any sort of conclusion? I'm pretty sure it didn't (if it did I must have zoned out) and it felt like so much wasted screen time.
Don't get me started on how they messed up everyone's personalities - particularly Chanyoung. A supportive best friend turned into...whatever he's supposed to be, I guess.
Anyway, if any of you haven't read the Heesu in Class 2 manhwa I'd highly recommend you do and get your soul healed from this unpleasant experience.

Don't watch this if u expect bl(its kinda just bromance)
Ok so just finished watching ep 10,what a disappointment..., i can't see any chemistry between seung won and heesu. There should've been more love moments, but noo we get jiyu and chan yeoung 😃(i can't even remember the time heesu and seung were together). Love the straight washing and the confession felt so meh, seung could've told heesu about the truth of carrot juice situation but didn't for some reason, this storyline felt so dry(the story had potential tbh😕). i had to skip some parts that were unnecessary like(heesu’s sisters, chan yeoung, seung won’s mother) these would be fine if there were more episodes but just 10,which felt rushed. the only thing that came close to touch is them holding hands(lasted mere seconds). My love mix up is better, it had no kiss but delivered the story betterthan this...

Heesu is a brilliant art piece contrasting the differences in queer vs het experiences
Heesu in Class 2 is not a “light romance,” and does not tell the story of a queer boy in a BL bubble- where he is safely surrounded by queer peers and other queer couples.Instead, this is a story of two queer boys navigating the pain of holding secrets, the complex layers of fear that keeps them silent, navigating coming out, and the reality of being queer in a world that operates in heteronormative default and in a culture still very much divided on LGBTQ acceptance.
This series is both beautiful, and painful. This series deviates from the source material, with mixed reception. I think rather than any sort of het-washing, the expansion of the het side couple and background couples, the het content was an important tool in demonstrating the contrast between the ease of het relationships, and by comparison illustrating just how much more difficult it is for Heesu and Seung Won being queer and having a crush.
There is so much that can be said about this series. All of the side characters offer an important piece to the bigger picture of the overall story. The side characters and their stories and relationship experience is like a thread in the tapestry of Heesu and Seung Won’s experiences and their stories. I cried for Heesu and Seung Won. I ached for them. I wanted to comfort them as a parent, but also as a queer adult.
Bringing a very real feeling queer story into a more typical Kdrama production (rather than a very short BL) also gave me a lot of feels for queer representation. For me this felt like another very notable step forward and offering insight into what the pain that being queer in a heteronormative world means for many people.

nobody can make me hate them
this drama had a looot of potential they have a perfect cast, perfect quality, and a perfect story but they ruined the story. im not going to talk about those. im just soo in love with heesu. he is such a realist character. im so sad about we only saw seungwon and heesu as couple just for 5 mins or smth... LIKE A SAID WE HAD A LOT OF POTENTIAL we shouldve seen them happy together more.. anyways there are a lot of bad things i have to talk about but im not gonna talk i just want to talk about how realistic, sad, and cute relationship they have.. heesus emotions were so strong, he has a strong empathy feeling. and seungwon, he knew that heesu wont hate him but he was just sooo shy. the episodes were long i love that because we cant have that much long bls, and of course i was tired about chanyoung and jiyu. yea they were cute too BUT HELLO i wanted to see heesu and seungwon. im so sad about how they ruined it.. im gonna miss them so much i love them i cried a lot how a love themWas this review helpful to you?
How to sensitize a country towards acceptance of other than heteronormative. This is how you do it.
Nice, slow paced, realistic coming of age story. Honestly, just a little too slow in the last 2 episodes. That's my only negative point. Hang in there.Take it from someone who used to work in a taskforce for sex education and in another for implementation of marriage rights for same sex partners in the early 2000: This is not your typical BL with hot young males geared towards an hetero female audience. Far from it. It's rather of beautiful and realistic content for a population of a country that slowly opens to diverse sexual identity. Educational but by no means lecturing.
The series shows how a young man who comes to understand himself and some relationship dynamics in an accepting, loving and realistic heteronormative environment. Mind, it's not fluffy at all. There is anger, and tears, and pain. But also longing, understanding, friendship, love. Oh, and some really funny stuff in between.... I mean, the sisters!! Or: "... didn't you wash your hands?! Pppffffflll..."
Some story content is told without words. In long shots. They are entertaining. And they feel sooo real. F.e. there is nobody who has not experienced sleeplessness at some stage in their life because there are just too many thoughts in their head. The ensuing chaotic sleep pattern of both friends is fun to watch. Literally, that could have been me and my sister in our youth some 40 years ago...
The acting is top notch. On point. I love the camera work. The editing. The play with light and grittiness. The angles. It's awesome, someone really thought this through.
This is a must watch. I hope, it will surpass "Semantic Error" and will be a true milestone reaching great popularity in South Korea, or Asia. Or the whole world really.

Heesu in class 2 : Straight washed bl of the year??
I think this is my first KBL review of 2025, and straight to the point — I liked it very much. I'm still sure that it's not getting the kind of recognition it deserves. And the show itself is the main reason for that...Don't get confused just because I said it's the "straight-washed BL of 2025" — that's what the majority of people are saying, and I'm proudly in the minority!
Because I enjoyed this show like no one else did!!!
And it's surely one of the best KBLs released this year.
With 10 episodes, we saw our main leads, Heesu and Seung Won, struggling to confess their feelings to their loved ones. They really took 10 episodes to do that...
But that's not a problem. If a slow burn is handled perfectly, I can wait my entire life. And I did it with this one too.
More than that, I felt a strange connection to the characters (the main leads) — like they were literally representing people like me somehow.
They were at least able to confess their feelings by the end of the show... unlike some people who are still hoping for a better day.
Both actors, Ahn Ji Ho and Lee Sang Jun, were so good that they made me love Heesu and Seung Won deeply.
Now, coming to the side of the show that people hated the most... I can't blame them.
I understand how people felt when the main leads were pushed aside by characters who were supposed to be supporting roles.
Yes, I'm talking about why people are calling this the straight-washed BL of the year. Why??
(And listen — our boys being slower than snails has nothing to do with this!!!)
1. A BL show having a straight couple as side characters is not a crime.
But when they get more screen time than the main leads, that's just not fair...
2. Did I enjoy that storyline? Of course I did — but only up to the point where they got into a stable relationship.
What they showed after that was totally unnecessary for me.
Better to say, I was just jealous of them having a good love life and a better career path while my boys were still struggling on the other side...
3. Again, unnecessary scenes interrupting my boys’ crucial moments — especially that tennis scene in episode 9 and the singing part in ep 10.
Huh... Wae?? Wae??? No answer.
And about the sisters and their problems...
Even though people say it was a waste of time, I’d like to consider it as a good relationship advice for my Heesu.
Do I need to say more? No, I'm not going to!!!
So while concluding my review, I just want to say —
I erased all those unwanted things I watched and will remember only my lovely Heesu and Seung Won!
Would I recommend this to others? Of course I would!!!
But you have to keep the things I mentioned above in mind before watching.

Petition for season 2! I'm begging. Please, please, please.
We’ve fallen head over heels for the subtle, simmering connection between Heesu and our main lead, and their half-shared smiles, meaningful glances, and unspoken support have left us desperate to see more, which is why Season 2 is an absolute necessity. In those few precious scenes, we witnessed Heesu’s quiet strength and kindness unlocking a softer, more vulnerable side in him—moments so authentic that we felt every flutter of his nervous excitement and every flicker of warmth in her eyes—but just as this enchanting slow-burn was about to ignite, it was cruelly cut short. We crave a full exploration of their first confession, the trembling words and racing hearts as they finally admit what we’ve known all along: that they belong together. We want to relive the magic of a first date—a shy coffee shop encounter or a spontaneous campus stroll beneath new blossoms—where each laugh and gentle touch cements their bond and reveals hidden layers of their personalities. Most of all, we need to watch them grow through the inevitable highs and lows: the miscommunications that test their trust, the moments of jealousy that spark self-discovery, and the triumphant breakthroughs when they choose each other, stronger and more confident. Beyond the romance, their journey would deepen every character’s arc, enriching the series’ emotional tapestry and giving Heesu the spotlight she rightly deserves. Season 2 centered on their dating era would honor the countless fans who have begged for more, turning those brief, unforgettable flashbacks into a fully realized narrative that celebrates young love in all its awkward, breathtaking beauty. Please, Class 2 creators, grant us the continuation we’ve been waiting for—let us witness Heesu and our hero finally step out of the shadows and into the light of their own unforgettable story.

hessu who?
i was so excited about this BL coming out mainly because it was more than eight episodes and hour long episodes near enough.korean BLs are some of my favourite and they don't seem to disappoint. what i was expecting from this show was a light on me type of bl but how i was wrong.
i knew before going into this that they changed a few things but i didn't expect to see hessu not really the main character.
if any of you have read the comic hessu is heavily overshadowed by his best friend to the point where he actually does not know himself without him and one of great things about the original source material is that it is about self discovery not just relating to sexuality.
however, this show overshadows hessu with some many other people. his sister, bestfriend, tennis, his other friend and clearly the second main couple.
it was incredibly frustrating to the point i felt like why have they adding some many unnecessary things when the comic is a simple school, slice of life. this wasn't something that could have been difficult to make. i wasn't really expecting much changes and the production value seemed like they had the money to not cut corners but they just made a series that was called hessu in class two but was actually watch everyone else be the main character while you forget about hessu.
they had so much they could have done but we had to wait until EPISODE 10 to get a confession. which is insane for how long the episodes ran for.
i am so disappoint in whoever decide to make this series into what it was and put it out there and be like yeah that's good.
there are fair better series with lots of fluff and cute scenes than this one that has a school atmosphere but this one was not for me. i would recommend light on me, far better or go and read the manhwa instead, its great.
but hessu in class 2 is just a huge disappointment and we barely got to see the main couple as a couple. they could have made a great series if we just got more screen time with them. as they had such great chemistry when they were on screen.
please do better next time!

Underwhelming
This …BL??? tried to be great but ended up being just ..cute. Our main guys’ story was built from disjointed crumbs left from all the other story arcs we didn’t care about. And I’m not even talking abt the straight couple but why did we need to see his sisters’ love lives? Or Chang Yeong’s family drama? Why our guys had 5 minute screen time together per episode? Why they gave us those ..fragmented scenes that made us wonder “Wait a minute, did I miss something? Weren’t they about to have pizza dinner together? Why am I seeing his sister breaking up with her bf instead of our guys having freaking dinner together??” I don’t know what the producers or the directors tried to do (and why the author accepted this ..butchering of their work) but they didn’t mange to make it work. All they manage to produce was a pretentious BLwannabe where Hee Su spent more time philosophizing about stars and planets and black holes than actually having conversations with the ppl around him while Seung Won walked around with a continuous poker face like a stoned zombie. And you wanna know the irony? The best character in the entire show was the girl (Ji Yu) She was awesome . It’s pretty damn telling (and sad) when the most interesting character in a BL is a woman. And it’s a shame because it had great actors and interesting premise. Was this review helpful to you?
