Fun Entertaining Watch
The story and characters got better with each episode such that I hope they continue with the main characters in a part 2. I thought there were a number of plot holes and open questions on how the universe worked, but because the story doesn't take itself too seriously and because of the character growth you don't care about those questions. At the end I was left wanting to see what happens next with these characters.Was this review helpful to you?

Not an adaption of the anime but fantastic nonetheless
Started watching it expecting it to be an adaption of the anime but it’s not. There is a nice nod to the anime in the last scene of the last episode though. The acting and pace is brilliant, really enjoyable for those who aren’t into slice of life k dramas and prefers thrillers.I don’t really like rewatching series, but I would rewatch this again. It’s great that it’s short and nothing in the storyline js dragged out unnecessarily.
The CGI is done insanely well and the overall quality of the production is great.

***SPOILERS***I thought this wasn’t a bad sci-fi spin-off, but one’s liking of it would depend on how much he/she compared it to the anime…which is kind of inevitable if they watched both. The special effects and fight scenes here are entertaining enough, even if not Hollywood level. They basically took the premise from the anime and explored what would have happened to an entirely different set of characters in a different country. One good point of this version is that it is very female-centric. The main alien character Heidi was strong and interesting. The main antagonist Joon Kyung could be frustrating at times but surprisingly made the right decisions when needed- which showed that she experienced some kind of growth and wasn’t as stubborn in her beliefs as to be close minded or inflexible. It also explored themes outside the anime, not just of how aliens could be good, but of how people could be just as evil and corrupt.
One thing that I preferred in the anime were the fight scenes, which had better choreography and more tension. I felt like you could sense the danger for the main character Shinichi Izumi more when he encountered one of the parasite hosts and had to fight it out. They were able to explain the traits (advantages and disadvantages) of each host better depending on how he/she was taken over.
Also, I preferred how, in the anime, Shinichi got stronger as a person and grew through his interactions with ‘Migi’ the parasite. In the live action Korean adaptation, the main host Soo In was dormant when Heidi was awake, and vice versa. So they didn’t get to interact directly or learn from each other on the same level. I don’t have a problem with shy characters like Soo In, but for this kind of show, I kind of wished that she grew in bravery or confidence just a little, much like her male counterpart.

the whole concept and pace would’ve been better as a movie cuz it brought nothing new, nothing that played with emotions, the characters didn’t bond or develop
Yeah cop dude and his sister were “human connections” but it wasn’t played enough

I LOVED THIS OMG
It was a super good series to watch with great character developments, plotwists and super good special effects.This is so far the best adaptation of the original ´parasite ´ ! The scenarists really did justice to it !
My fav characters were definitely Kang woo for how hard he was trying to live life despite everyone dear to him being dying (his sisters, his best friend), getting betrayed. Shoutout to his friendship with with ki-seok that was unfortunately shortly showcased but we could see how close they were, joking around each other, helping each other out and even sacrificing for the other…😭. I love how he got a good end !
Heidi is such a good living being. Till the end, she kept it cool and always cared about what was thinking her host. They really had a great bond with si-u and later on kang woo. These three were really the best part of the series ! I really wanted to see her happy for once but I never got to see it nor her 😭
RIP to the inspector btw. His co-partner is and will always be trash to me because no matter if he was threatened or not by the reverend, he really looked like he was enjoying it for sure !
The female director of the grey division might look cold hearted and all but she was just being pragmatic and even if at the beggining for example she was mistreating the inhabitated corpse of her husband for her goal (detect and kill parasites), I totally understood because it was no more her husband but just the ´ enveloppe ‘. She even cried after his ´enveloppe ´ was destroyed because she lost him for real. That showed how human she stayed deep inside herself. She is such a self-reflected character and useful one that I can’t bring myself to hate her !
Now let me end this by : Heidi I love you ! Even if you committed suic!de smh, to let su-in have a good life and ´live in humans company ´ calmly, you’ll always be in my heart, as the best parasite to ever exist !
I’m super tuned for s2 because it was so smoothly introduced. Netflix better not ruin this incredible series 😭😭
The cast is so good as well as the acting. I already knew kang woo’s actor from previous works and knew how good he was but shoutout to su-in’s actress because she managed to embodied two characters, especially Heidi one who has the characteristic of having a poker face 24/7 as other parasites. The actress did it so good that she could switch between the two characters (Heidi and su-in) and you would still differenciate both because of her great acting skills (and the makeup ofc)

This has given me a new perspective on this genre. I will be retrying sweet home as I never enjoyed it much but maybe I was too judgy to quick.The story has really highlighted what being human means and survival. As humans, we do need connections to thrive but for the unfortunate soo in she has never had that. He reported her father for abuse, being called a monster. Her detective friend died trying to save her. She never lost her faith in humans. The parayste though has taught me a few things as well as learned some things. The ML for me was comic relief, the friend who is unserious but can rely on for.

PERFECT from start to finish. Need Season 2 but it's okay if there's none.
As a huge fan of the original manga, I came with NO expectations...BUT I really like that Korean Spinoff. While remaining faithful to the Parasyte concept, they provided a well-rounded story in 6 episodes with a budding understanding and friendship between host and parasyte as was the case with Shinichi and Migi in the manga.
While I don't know if we'll ever get a second season... which they honestly could, given how the universe is just MADE to be expanded, I'm not too sad if we don't get any.
It's an open ending that gives proper closure on all our mains. You've got to salute the performance. They managed to write a complete story, with well-rounded characters you learn to care about and have a complete character journey. The parasites are depicted as creatures just trying to survive, who don't have ill-intent and somewhat don't understand the hostility they're getting from humans as a whole. It's interesting to see how their interactions with humans made some of them change and learn empathy by the end of the series.
It's action packed, with great CGIs, amazing performance from all actors, with a tight script. Just perfection from start to finish.

Excelente adaptación del Animé al Kdrama, espero temporada 2
Ví primero el animé que está también en Netflix y fué perfecto, las dos historias son compatibles como lo ocurrido en Japón y Korea después de la llegada de los parásitos. El final es redondo y perfecto, el drama y las emociones que nunca faltan en los kdramas también está presente y hacen de esta historia, como en Tren a Busán, una kdramaleña de las que tanto nos gustan, con traumas, disociaciones, jeong, sanación y redención de personajes humanos y no humanos.Was this review helpful to you?

Um drama muito bem dirigido e produzido, os 6 episódios passaram rapidinhos, gostei muito da trama, senti uma vibe de Sweet Home, em relação a protagonista. A amizade que se criou entre a Suin, a Heidi e o Kangwoo foi lindo de se ver.Koo Kyo Hwan sempre fazendo thrillers incríveis.
Espero que tenha 2 temporada, com a Su In no time Grey.

Spin off Excelente
eu gosto muito do mangá e mais ainda do anime, e essa série foi incrível, me surpreendi. O protagonista masculino é espetacular e muito disso pela dublagem, que melhora pra caramba sua expressividade , normalmente eu não assisto animes doramas dublados, mas quando é boa a gente tem que prestigiar. A protagonista também é ótima, existem pequenos momentos que ela da uma fraquejada na atuação, mas nada que afete muito o desempenho da série. O cgi também não é limitação aqui.O vilão por outro lado eu considero o mais fraco, sempre davam mais relevância para as suas cenas, mas o que eu senti vendo foi: "parabéns meu prefeito". essa obsessão por esse cargo público em especifico chega a ser cômica, a ponto dele já ter aparecido em público, todos já o haviam visto e mesmo assim o vilão desejava ser prefeito, quando o seu disfarce e intenções já estavam comprometidas, isso se dá porque precisavam encerrar a história ali naquele ponto de qualquer forma, o programado era 6 eps e entregaram isso.
O protagonista do anime e mangá aparece no final, e sim foi uma das melhores cenas, isso abre espaço para uma adaptação live action que preste do anime( não recomendo o filme) e mais ainda por uma possível continuação.
No geral gostei muito, foi divertido e me senti ansioso por cada episódio, adorei isso.

Me enteré de que este drama está sacado de un anime y la verdad, pocas veces vi un drama de este tipo que me gustara tanto.Los personajes me gustan mucho y sobre todo el actor principal.
Tiene mezcla de todo.
Es una historia que se ve muy rápido porque aparte de que tiene pocos capítulos, son cortos.
La verdad, que yo la recomiendo ver, a menos que no te guste ver cosas gore.

heidi deserve rights
normalmente tenho problemas com sci-fi pelo fato dos autores não saberem desenvolver muito bem o lado frontal do gênero junto com a dramaticidade que uma produção de tv precisa. em parasyte: the grey fui surpreendida.já sabia que poderia esperar coisas boas visto que é feito pelo mesmo diretor de train to busan (2016), um filme de zumbi belíssimo que ficou reconhecido pela boa dosagem de fantasia e realidade no roteiro. parasyte segue uma narrativa simples de pessoa infectada do bem, que luta pra sobreviver e ao mesmo tempo derrotar os demais vírus que são uma ameaça aos civis.
atrelado ao contexto familiar difícil dos protagonistas, eles naturalmente se tornam uma dupla que ao mesmo tempo que se protege, tenta salvar e orientar a equipe grey com seus privilégios - ter uma irmã recém transformada e heidi, um parasita protetor. saí querendo mais e adorando o que tinha experienciado.
