Unique drama worth watching!
I really enjoyed My Journey to You. It is not like your run of the mill wuxia. It is highly stylized and the plot is unique. The pacing is good and its only 24 episodes which meant theres never any boring parts! Yu shuxin really surprised me and was quite good as a female assassin completely different from any of her previous roles or what you see of her on variety shows. She really showed her range here and she wont be type-cast into cutesy roles. Even her actions scenes looked realistic! Zhang Linghei was good as the seemingly soft hearted heir (major golden retriever vibes lol). The SFL and SML were amazing with their acting and had smoldering chemistry!Definitely give this dark wuxia a watch!

Great Drama
I have never seen any of the actors in a drama before, so I'm not watching this as a fan.I watched it because the FL character seemed cool.
The best thing about this drama is how the director made each shot look pretty. The fight scenes are like dancing. I've taken so many screenshots here, because it's just so pretty. The music goes with the scenes and I thought the production was the best thing about this drama.
The story was interesting. It slowed a bit between ep. 12-16 and I thought I saw a lot of plot holes but they might have been purposely placed there. lol.
The logic wasn't too hard to follow and I didn't have to wrack my brains to follow any of the intrigue.
I was most drawn to the Gong Shang Jue/Shanghuan Qian and Gong Yuan Zhi story.
I found them way more interesting than the main leads. The story tries to develop the other characters besides the main characters (which is great) and I just kept getting interested in Gong Shang Jue/Shanghuan Qian and Gong Yuan Zhi. Their story, I found was more touching/interesting.
I don't think the story was perfect but this drama kept getting me hooked.
The weakness is the romance. I just don't buy it, because it's all based on lies. However, I watch dramas for entertainment and not necessary the romance, and I thought this drama has a more interesting story than other dramas. The romance isn't the main feature of this drama, so it was ok. They didn't focus on it.
If you're looking for something interesting, check this out.

THE 2ND LEADS HAD THE BEST CHEMISTRY
Overall, the plot, storyline, music, characters were CHEF KISS. I liked the fl and sfl, however the ml was kinda bland for me. Personally I enjoyed the story between the sml and his didi and the 2nd lead couple more than the main couple. Usually, when this happens, I drop the drama if screen time is done no justice to the second leads, however in this drama, all characters really shined and got their screen time.I honestly was not expecting to like the 2nd lead couple more but man, was their chemistry on FIRE. Like they could literally just be looking at each other and it would still give me butterflies. The way they protrayed the 2nd ml to be absolutely stone cold on the outside but every once in a while will break off his mask and show slight affection towards the 2nd fl literally got me blushing screaming kicking my feet fr. And SGQ was an absolute icon, fav character fr, her actor did an AMAZING job at portraying her. The way I could never tell what she was thinking and planning until the end, you will legitimately sit there thinking if her last monologue in the show was lie or not.
Anyways I swear they need to film another season cause girl what was that ending- especially GSJ SGQ we need them together ASAP

You must not fall in love
Omg this drama was so dark it almost tainted my heart. First of all i think you really need to like dark psychology or you should have to be intelligent to grip the plots of this drama. Everyone in this drama is smarter then other. Its like an endless war of how to act and react in every single situation. Everyone is very cunning but at the end of the day everyone had a heart. It showed the endless battle for freedom.Alot of us actually missed some key points regarding the ending Because noway from the start i was expecting a happy ending. The drama was meant to left incomplete. As we all know ziyu always wished to have a life outside of the gong residence. Meanwhile it was already revealed that there are only 4 wangs and 2 Liang leaders so obviously wushang is not completely shut.
The purpose of drama was to never show an unrealistic ending where there is forever peace. Instead to show the understanding for wushang people that they can choose to be happy. And gong people that not everyone in wushang deserves to die. It also showed how every single character came out of their dilemma and fight to achieve what they wanted. It really showed how all of them can go though sunset and wait for our sun rise. It also showed no matter how cruel and cold blooded you are, you are still a human and it still hurts to be a human.
I am eager to see season 2.

sequel
there should definitely be a sequel because the ending left us wondering about the sound of the door opening... it's a shame that this couple isn't together... they went through so much and yet their love survived. it's not fair that he leaves us with the anxiety that they're not together after all...Was this review helpful to you?

this is the first wuxia drama where i actually watched everything with barely any skips & understood what was going on LOLso much is happening but at the same time nothing is , have to give points to the production bc it kept me wanting to know what happens next. the plot could have been better, yes! but it is good enough

I JUST WANT A SEASON 2
I don't even care what other fans say. I don't know if they watch anything outside of asian dramas, but as someone who watches lots of western and asian dramas, ny experience with western dramas makes me adept to seeing cliffhangers.ALL THESE PEOPLE SAYING "ITS AN OPEN ENDING", like no open endings don't end abruptly they leave room for imagination but it is still in a sense "resolved".
This ending was abrupt and clearly setting up a new threat of sorts.
I dont know what's happening with production but this needs a season 2.

‘My Journey to You’. Odd, maybe the journey has only just started?
I’m glad the last few episodes were all released at once! This is my second time watching a wuxia drama and I was not disappointed. Although it is indeed slow paced, I felt that every word was not said without thought. And although there were several heart wrenching deaths I was glad that the majority lived on. I enjoyed the backstories to each of the characters, my favourite being the love between young master yue and yun que. His acting got me!
There is no arc or backstory to the wufeng although if they were to further explain in a next season I don’t think I would be that interested. Even if it ended with an open ending I’m not sure if I want to know what happened afterwards. A last battle? A happy ending? That’s what I believe in. I’m not sure a special would show this so I’d rather not know. Although knowing how they tricked me in the last several episodes to believe in only what was shown I’m sure they were able to survive the last test. I refuse to believe otherwise.
Thank to all the actors for their amazing performance. I was impressed and I even found an actor I hope to see more of in the future!

A Drama That Breathes Between the Blades.
My Journey to You is not the kind of drama you binge at 2x speed, and honestly, if you try, this drama will probably side-eye you. It’s dark, atmospheric, and very intentional about its pacing. The story prefers lingering looks, quiet tension, and beautifully framed silences over loud declarations, and somehow, it works.
Yu Shuxin completely sheds her usual bright image here. As Yun Weishan, she’s calm, observant, and emotionally guarded. No exaggerated expressions, no overexplaining, just subtle reactions and controlled vulnerability. It’s the kind of performance that makes you lean in and pay attention because if you blink, you might miss something important.
Zhang Linghe matches that energy perfectly. He brings a steady, composed presence that grounds the drama, and instead of overpowering the story, he blends into its tone. Their chemistry isn’t loud or flashy, it’s the quiet, slightly dangerous kind that simmers in the background and keeps you watching “just one more episode.”
The visuals are gorgeous, the fight scenes are clean, and the overall mood feels carefully crafted rather than rushed. This drama trusts its audience to be patient, and rewards that patience with atmosphere, tension, and layered characters.
Final thoughts:
If you like fast plots and constant noise, this might test you. But if you enjoy slow-burn tension, beautiful cinematography, and two leads who actually complement each other, My Journey to You is absolutely worth the journey.

the only thing to complain is.. where’s the second season?
as someone who never writes reviews, i cannot not contribute to the ratings of this deserving drama. i absolutely loved this masterpiece! starting from the aesthetics till every beat of music used. it was very well done, eyes pleasing, the well executed acting of the whole cast, the first-class editing and the story plot kept me glued to the screen. watching a serie for the second time, i find it boring and a waste of time , but this deserves more than one sitting watch. yu shuxin and zhang linghe’s chemistry was marvellous, looking forward towards their third project together (won’t mind even if it will be a wuxia or historical hihi). i’ve never loved a drama this much other than LLTG (love like the galaxy). recommend this experience 10 out of 10, it’s worth every second, trust me. salute to the writers, director, editors, cast, staff and everyone that worked on this magnificent piece. Was this review helpful to you?
Not to disrespect public's opinions
God I loved it so much especially Yu shuxin and lu yuxiao's acting in this drama was spectacular,as both female main leads played an excellent role of a villain .It was my first time seeing Yu shuxin's acting, her expression and overall appearance in the drama was speechless, considering her personality in real life being joyous,I didn't expect she would act so much better than I expected. The costumes, editing, fighting scenes, plot, storylines, acting ,cast, drama production, background music all was so awesome. I hope to see more and more dramas like these in the near future (Inshallah). Though I loved the ending but I really hope for a 2nd season, don't care if it's gonna be 10 episodes but then the 1st season's ending wouldn't make much sense and It would disappoint me to have such a good drama ruined , I hope the drama production companies to pay attention to viewers on social media .It was the best drama of the year 2023 , as the year is ending ,I wish everyone Happy New Year, Goodnight 🤍🖤🤍🖤Was this review helpful to you?
