This series is my first love which will always have a special place in my heart. This drama gave me the feels of absolute youth. The first two eps may seem boring and I've seen a lot of people dropping it just because of it. But but but! It only gets better. The adventure, the friendship, the love and pain , this drama potrays it soo so sooo well. The only thing i am disappointed is about how the ending was rushed and so many questions were left unanswered. Regardless its still a 10/10 for mee!!Was this review helpful to you?
It's so worth watching at least once but after seeing it, MORE THAN ONCE!
This is my first review. Personally, I don't watch K-dramas but I got this drama recommended from a friend. I didn't expect much, she told me the plot and that it was worth watching and so I gave it a shot. There is 16 episodes and on average is around 1 hour long each. I'm so grateful that this story talks about disabilities (being deaf and using sign-language). The struggles and the topic of family. It's a very heartwarming, gut-wrenching and trauma filling story. There's so many moments in Twinkling Watermelon that was worth watching. I seriously seriously recommend it! Here is my opinion/feedback:I CRIED. SERIOUSLY SO MANY TIMES. I freaking love this K-drama and is 100% going on my rewatch this.
Each episode leaves you hooked with either a cliff-hanger or something you did not expect. The cast delivered each of their roles so well, especially the main actors. I felt like it wasn't a movie and that we were actually there. You can feel the emotional impact that leaves you wanting more. I'm telling you I literally cried like a baby every single episode 13 above, it made me have a huge mental breakdown (episode 14 is THE BEST EPISODE in my opinion) - no spoils just you will cry. overall I recommend it. There is laughter, tears and most definitely LOVE but more on family love :). Love your parents, struggles are real and you don't know what they go through. To be loved is to be seen, change yourself for the better to set yourself free from what your running from. You can learn a lot from this drama. Twinkle to shine - be yourself for yourself not for others!!

My favourite drama this year
I loved the light-hearted but deep start to the drama, but what kept me invested was how it showed such a beautiful relationship between the good and bad things in life.When I first started watching this, I didn't know what to expect, I just liked the title and decided to watch it - no trailer no reading of description. And I'm glad I did.
This show gave me emotional trauma, but it also healed me. I've not felt such strong emotions for a show in a while and this was a roller coaster. I feel like it definitively hits differently if you can relate to any of the experiences shown throughout, but even if not I think this can be enjoyable for anyone.

One of the best dramas of the year
This drama was one that I looked forward to seeing the most this year. It definitely exceeded my expectations. The last dramas that made me feel like this were probably 2521 and Alchemy of Souls. All the actors did an amazing performance and this was an overall perfect drama. I liked how it highlighted something that we don’t see a lot in kdramas and in tv in general, being deaf. They also made sure that it was known that being deaf is not a burden and you can still have a normal life like anyone else while being deaf. I really hope to see Seol Inah and Ryeun in another project, their chemistry was too good.

Best show of 2023, yes you read that right!
I have never ever left a review until now, and I've been a fan of kdramas for at least a good 7 years now... but this drama though definitely had me gripped from start to finish and never let me get bored of it. It's got a bit of everything- fantasy, comedy, slice of life, music... the best romances and relationships.My favourite relationship, by far, was definitely that of EG and YC, father and son. Don't even get me started on the actors and actresses... I will say that I started watching it because I liked them in their previous shows (especially Seol In Ah!), but the plot, characters and 1995 storyline made me forget why I started because I loved the journey I went on with them. Don't get me wrong, I know it's not perfect - I still have some questions, but to be honest, life is all about interpretation! Just like the Time Master says...
A warm yet refreshing time travel drama, this is one not to miss. For lovers of Reply 1988, 25 21, My Perfect Stranger, 18 Again, The Best Hit, Hotel Del Luna and much more... I think I will continue to gush over this drama for all of time. Viva la vida!

twinkmelon changed lives (mine)
my number 1 drama of the year. twinkling watermelon delivers EVERYTHING: sadness, joy, empathy, laughs, and many other deep emotions. the cast is crazy, they all are such great actors and their chemistry was overflowing, literally. ive started watching this drama for inah and hyunwook but I ended up watching till the end for the WHOLE cast. i had never heard about eunsoo and ryeoun before, and they were awesome discoveries, they’re so talented!!!this show was both so heartbreaking and so heartwarming. it’s truly a comfort show to me and i am so sad that i have to let them go.
i loved everything: the youth representation, the romanceS, the comedy, the emotional scenes, the friendships, the development of the story, the characters’ dynamic.
this is simply a masterpiece.

I wish I could loose my memory and watch this for the first time again
Oh my goodness this is a good show! I did like the second leads more than the first, but you get plenty of both and they both have such cute dynamics. And the plot was very engaging. I do hope they consulted actually deaf people while making this project and used Korean Sign Language properly. I love the representation in the Korean media, I just hope they did it correctly.Was this review helpful to you?
Got me out of my 2.5 year of kdrama slump
I love a time travel kdrama and pair that with found family - PERFECTION.honestly after nearly 3 years of not being able to get a kdrama to keep me entertained until the end this had me hooked. I loved the friendship, the family dynamic and overall storyline.
The high school days felt so nostalgic and I wish I could go back in time and relive some of my days in school or even at age 18. I don't know what I would change but it'll be fun to remember what life was like back then.
Although the ending was super rushed that left me so many questions and some stuff was left unanswered or just ignored I still loved it.

Gotta totally agree that this drama was really good, as it brought out a different plot of going back to the past. The actors and actressess were totally slaying it. The drama gave the vibe of teenage youth and how some love doesnt always work out but theres always someon meant for you. Truly a Coming of Age Masterpiece.
Choi Hyun-Wook is one of those versatile actor who can with his sheer acting skills make a drama a masterpiece.What an emotional rollercoaster ride this drama gives us throughout each episodes..I laughed a lot ,envious of their musical group, cried a lot and sometimes those tears are not my tragic or sad moment but instead they are my happy moments..
I'm impressed by every cast's performances.Superb performances❤️..But Choi Hyun Wook excels in everything..He only with his expression can make you laugh like crazy and cake make you cry like crazy...(He will be the most demand actor in the upcoming future)..everything was balanced in this drama..
Comedy ,humour, thrilling scenes, mystery,family,friends, friends group, music band, school era, 2 pair of romances, Time travel everything is balanced in a way that never get you bored in any situation...What a writing and what a execution and what a performance..Truly a coming of age masterpiece.
First two episode started off amazingly that hooked you with this drama.You can feel your own self in Eunn Gyeol's character. But Time travel was basically an illogical to bring out but it's not about the theme time travel ...it's all about how they will show us and executed their plan perfectly..
Lastly , I'm missing those group moments where they just chilling around, pulling each other's legs and the nagging of grandmother, Han Yi Chang's comedy and humour ,the son-father relationship and the friends group...Hope will get to see Choi Hyun Wook' s next masterpiece just like this in the upcoming future..

This is Cinema
Wow. First off, wow. That is all I have to say. I have rewatched this at least 4 times already and wow. This is just amazing. This really speaks levels in the industry. Absolute cinema. I am baffled really. How can a show be this amazing... ? I'm at a lost for words when writing this even. Like. Holy cow. My favorite show of all time and my comfort show. How did it take 2 spots already ? Who knows...If you loved 18 Again, watch this. Personally, it blows it out of the park for me. Similar vibes to it but also different in their own ways really. Don't get me wrong, I loved 18 Again. Thank you for reading. I took about 7 minutes to write this. I was so in awe on my first watch and now I'm going onto my 5th rewatch. Have fun watching this ! Absolute masterpiece if I do say so myself.

Esse drama merece nota mil.A história é incrível, as músicas são maravilhosas, os atores amei cada um deles, não mudaria nada. indicarei pra o máximo de pessoas que puder porque esse drama precisa ser visto por todos. como amei cada momento. amei o romance, porém mais do que tudo eu amei como foi retratada a relação de pai e filho. por que esse drama não é apenas romance, ele é principalmente sobre família, sobre juventude, sobre as escolhas e eu amei comona relação de pai e filho foi desenvolvida
