Got me out of my 2.5 year of kdrama slump

I love a time travel kdrama and pair that with found family - PERFECTION.
honestly after nearly 3 years of not being able to get a kdrama to keep me entertained until the end this had me hooked. I loved the friendship, the family dynamic and overall storyline.

The high school days felt so nostalgic and I wish I could go back in time and relive some of my days in school or even at age 18. I don't know what I would change but it'll be fun to remember what life was like back then.

Although the ending was super rushed that left me so many questions and some stuff was left unanswered or just ignored I still loved it.

Definitely a much watch!

Gotta totally agree that this drama was really good, as it brought out a different plot of going back to the past. The actors and actressess were totally slaying it. The drama gave the vibe of teenage youth and how some love doesnt always work out but theres always someon meant for you. The drama always kept me on my toes cause its different from the usual kdrama plotline, its a must watch!

Truly a Coming of Age Masterpiece.

Choi Hyun-Wook is one of those versatile actor who can with his sheer acting skills make a drama a masterpiece.

What an emotional rollercoaster ride this drama gives us throughout each episodes..I laughed a lot ,envious of their musical group, cried a lot and sometimes those tears are not my tragic or sad moment but instead they are my happy moments..

I'm impressed by every cast's performances.Superb performances❤️..But Choi Hyun Wook excels in everything..He only with his expression can make you laugh like crazy and cake make you cry like crazy...(He will be the most demand actor in the upcoming future)..everything was balanced in this drama..
Comedy ,humour, thrilling scenes, mystery, family, friends, friends group, music band, school era, 2 pair of romances, Time travel everything is balanced in a way that never get you bored in any situation...What a writing and what a execution and what a performance..Truly a coming of age masterpiece.

First two episode started off amazingly that hooked you with this drama. You can feel your own self in Eunn Gyeol's character. But Time travel was basically an illogical to bring out but it's not about the theme time travel ...it's all about how they will show us and executed their plan perfectly..

Lastly , I'm missing those group moments where they just chilling around, pulling each other's legs and the nagging of grandmother, Han Yi Chang's comedy and humour ,the son-father relationship and the friends group...Hope will get to see Choi Hyun Wook' s next masterpiece just like this in the upcoming future..

This is Cinema

Wow. First off, wow. That is all I have to say. I have rewatched this at least 4 times already and wow. This is just amazing. This really speaks levels in the industry. Absolute cinema. I am baffled really. How can a show be this amazing... ? I'm at a lost for words when writing this even. Like. Holy cow. My favorite show of all time and my comfort show. How did it take 2 spots already ? Who knows...

If you loved 18 Again, watch this. Personally, it blows it out of the park for me. Similar vibes to it but also different in their own ways really. Don't get me wrong, I loved 18 Again. Thank you for reading. I took about 7 minutes to write this. I was so in awe on my first watch and now I'm going onto my 5th rewatch. Have fun watching this ! Absolute masterpiece if I do say so myself.

Masterpiece

THE BEST DRAMA EVER. I cried every single episode and the last one I cried from the beginning. And now I feel so empty, because I already miss them so much. I don't know what I am gonna do without them.
The cast, acting, story, emotions everything was perfect .I laughed, I cried. It was just perfect. So proud of the actors
I watched so many dramas, but I never cried this much like watching this one. It was funny, sad and it had everything. My fav drama for real. MASTERPIECE. I will never move on from this.

viva la vida

ah damn, i've watched this kdrama more than once, ah yeeahh... i've just finished watching this kdrama for the second time, u know this kdrama makes me nostalgic and idk how its feel btw... actually i don't really like kdramas with a "time traveler" theme but for this i can talking about it, i've been wanting to watch it again for a long time, i like all the acting actors here, there are Ryeoun, Choi Hyunwook, Seo Rina, and another one i forgot, this one her also played in the kdrama "Summerstrike" unfortunately i forgot her name, i just remembered her name is Shin Eunsoo, that's her name, what else do u have to explain here, i like their struggle in this story, it impressed me

Found Family ?? Actual Family

I had so much fun watching Twinkling Watermelon! Time travel kdramas have been my obsession lately, and TW did not disappoint!

First, the cast was incredible! All four leads acted their hearts out. They embodied their characters so well. CHW stood out the most for me personally, he really did shine! I cried with Ryeoun and SES every time they cried. The emotions the main cast and the supporting cast portrayed was so beautiful.

Second, the vibes overall made this such an enjoyable watch. The cinematographer did a wonderful job! The music was fun, the OST as well!

Finally, the storyline was great! There were a few plotholes, and I agree that the ending felt rushed. This easily could have been stretched to 17 or 18 episodes.

Overall, a really fun show!

A little gem, don't to miss it (´◉❥◉`ლ)

PLOT: ML, with hearing-impaired parents and brother, is overwhelmed by the burden and escapes by secretly playing guitar in a group. One day, in despair, he sells his guitar to a "viva la vida" store, which takes him back to the time when his father, a 10th-grade high school student, didn't have a disability (but had a crush on the haughty goddess from the neighboring high school, mother of FL, and didn't even see his future wife, FL2). ML will try to prevent his father's accident, to set him up with FL2, ... with the help of FL (the "goodess' daughter, also brought to this time out of desperation).

+++ A magical quartet of actors: Ryeo Un, Choi Hyun Wook, Seol In Ah, Shin Eun Soo. The father-son performance will go down in history!! Two moving, poignant, and adorable romances. Kudos !!
+++ Flawless, perfect direction, with an ideal balance of emotion, humor, and suspense.
+++ Excellent OSTs (which I'll put on my playlist :)
+++ Intelligent, well-written, psychologically respectful story... and which, for once, respects people with disabilities. 👏👏👏

### No flaws.

=> I had put this series aside a long time ago (unattractive poster), but I'm really happy to have watched/enjoyed it, and I will gladly watch it again (to share this gem with my loved ones) ლ(´◉❥◉`ლ)

************************************************************
Petit bijou à ne pas manquer ლ(´◉❥◉`ლ)

+++ Un quator d'acteurs magique : Ryeo Un, Choi Hyun Wook, Seol In Ah, Shin Eun Soo.
BRAVO !

### No flaws.

Reenact Back To The Future, fall in love with the young version of your aunt, teach your nonchalant 18 y.o. dad guitar, try to prevent a major tragedy, play matchmaker for your future parents, take over the Jinsung empire, and accidentally become an international idol - be like Ha Eun Gyeol! The drama explores so many relatable themes, and it deserves way more than roughly 3% rating on Korean TV. Ryeo Woon and Choi Hyeon Wook have amazing chemistry, both humorous and dramatic, and their acting is outstanding till the end.

"이곳에 와서 알게 됐다. 내 아빠 엄마에게도 아픈 청춘이 있었다는 것을."

🔸Do you want to escape your problems somewhere far away where nobody would be able to find you..? For example, in the year 1995! You'd get to befriend your yet-young parents and hopefully find out why do they act so confusingly as adults. However, time traveling still won't provide you with a safe playground to explore the world because growing up has never been easy for anyone. And if it wasn't, why do adults forget about their own teenage experience while building a relationship with their teenage kid?

"나는 아주아주 반짝이게 빛나야 한다는 말이지. 할 수 있는 건 다 해볼 거다. 사랑이든 벤드든 내가 반짝일 수 있는 거라면 모두 다."

There aren't many thoughtful shows and movies that explore teenagers and their parents together as equal human beings. Twinkling Watermelon achieves this by literally putting them all side by side through time travel. Not only do the highschoolers start to understand their parents better, but the adults in the future change too. The way the drama was written, I was confident from the very beginning that all the characters and their lives are in the hands of a skilled screenwriter. The drama transitions between sentimental exploration and genuine humor so seamlessly that I simply cannot put an episode on pause. There is no intrigue who ends up with whom, and because everything is predetermined we get a chance to feel this fleeting moment of happiness and enjoy it while it lasts.

"내가 사는 세상엔 소리가 없어. 그래서 이렇게 눈을 감으면 세상이 사라져."

🔸I'm sure every viewer has caught on to a couple of KSL (Korean Sign Language) words just by watching this drama. It contributes well to the awareness of people with hearing impairments and subtly educates about the challenges they face in society. Deaf character Cheong Ah still enjoys listening to music vibrations, and many deaf people still enjoy going to loud energetic concerts. Moreover, there is a scene where Yi Chan interprets the legendary song '마법의 성' into KSL and performs it for Cheong Ah - this is what deaf performers do. I suggest you check out Justina Miles interpreting to ASL (American Sign Language) at Rihanna's Super Bowl show this year to get an idea of how you can communicate a song to those who can't hear it.

"수화야. 손으로 만들어내는 소리."

Sign language is an incredible dimension of human expression, and it's not hard to learn. It should be more widespread in today's society, and good thing someone is popularizing it. I personally started learning ASL and KSL, and even though there is no one around me to talk to, sign language has improved my acting (surprisingly!) and communication in general.

🔸Deaf experiences can vary. Some people are Deaf and mute like Cheong Ah, who lost the ability to hear before she learned to speak; some people are partially deaf, and others, like Yi Chan, lost their hearing later. In Yi Chan's case, he is probably mute by choice, either for Cheong Ah or to not give in to an ignorant society, since he could talk normally after getting the trauma.

"음악은 귀로만 듣는 게 아니야. 음악은 눈으로, 마음으로, 심장으로 느끼는 거야."

🔸Twinkling Watermelon is simply magical and now one of my top K-dramas. Its ethereal plot allows me to rediscover other aspects of life that we usually miss in today's hustle culture, like creating music, art together, building strong friendship - all those overlooked human expressions that are essential for human happiness, just like sign language. But overall, it's also a blissful reminder to stay strong and try living my only youth to the fullest.

Learn sign language, you guys! Sign language changes the world. ✨

Great Watch for everyone

Twinkling Watermelon is my favourite K-Drama.
Its just such a quick, fun watch that you cannot go wrong with. It makes you feel all wiggly and cozy inside but still keeps you glued to the screen.
Its just a really heartwarming and sweet watch that Id advise anyone who has nothing against romance to watch.
Especially for a romance K-drama, this one is more than amazing. Something for everyone!

Let this Drama Sparkle for You! JUST GO FOR IT.

Joined late to the Twinkling Watermelon Fan Club, but here I am. One of those rare, well-made, earnest kdramas that remind us why we love watching these dramas so much. The fantasy element sounded outlandish at first, but kudos to the writers for incorporating it so seamlessly into the main narrative. I loved how the plot twists were not very concealed, in the sense that we all could figure out what would happen next, but the way the plot twists were placed and executed is what made the watching experience novel and quite unexpected.
Full points to the actors for doing such a lovely job. Personally, for me, Ryeoun felt like the weakest actor amongst all, but that doesn't mean he did a bad job, he was just 2nd best among the rest of the best. Even the supporting cast did a great job. Also, a big shout out to the stylists, getting the 90s chic bang on, with the outlandish hairstyles and baggy clothes and tacky colours.
The OST is not the kind of music I listen to, but it does stay with you long after the drama is over.
The best part of this drama is that it is earnest writing, and the humour (even though very overdramatic) is so earnestly done, you can't help but laugh at their stupidity. Life feels a little empty now after finishing watching this.
