A Heartwarming Comfort Drama for Tough Days
Cooking Crush is a truly great brain-off drama for tough days. The plot is simple, light, and pleasant in its concept – a comfort show about cooking and the sweet love that connects the main characters. The show has plenty of cheesy moments that made me grimace, but not necessarily for bad reasons. The story is uncomplicated: a boy with dreams of becoming a chef starts teaching cooking to a newly-met medical student who is working hard to become a good doctor. The romance develops quickly, yet naturally – despite the short timeline, it didn’t feel rushed. It’s a bit of a love-at-first-sight story, deepening with every dish prepared. The side plots are also simple, classic, and straightforward. Despite the abundance of clichés and slightly embarrassing situations, it was a good story that kept warming my heart throughout its run.
As for the cast, there were some good and some not-so-good choices. The main couple, Off and Gun, have that special something that makes it impossible for me to get bored with them. When their characters show affection, it feels genuine and pleasant to watch. Separately, they also hold their ground well – especially Off, whose portrayal of Ten only evoked positive emotions in me. He felt very natural, as if he was bringing more of himself than just the character. Gun’s Prem was a cute and determined guy, and his performance was also really enjoyable for me. The rest of the cast – well, it took me quite a while to warm up to them, like Ten’s friends, for example. The romantic subplot between Fire and Dynamite felt forced at first, but by the end of the show, it started to win me over.
Regarding visuals and music – I have no complaints. Apart from the absolutely cringy main song and the intro, which I couldn’t watch because of the overflowing secondhand embarrassment, everything else was really nice. Lovely costumes, especially for Ten, atmospheric interiors – nothing to criticize there.
To sum up, this is a good series that you can watch now and then for laughs and sweetness. It’s not gold on the level of Not Me, but it is everything a romcom should be. A perfect drama to have on your second monitor while cooking, folding laundry, or just curing a bad mood. I give it a solid 8/10, and I’ll definitely come back to relive Prem and Ten’s sweet love again.

COOKING LIKE A CHEF
A poor(ish) culinary student and a rich med student. Put those 2 together and you get a cute relationship!! I LIVE for OffGun. I mean, who doesn't? If you've seen their previous works then you already know that it'll be a great paring.STORY:
Third year culinary students Prem, Dynamite, and Samsi/Unky are the best of friends. They've been together since the 1st year of culinary classes. Trusting their friendship and skills, they join a cooking competition, known as Super Monster Chef (aka A BIG DEAL.) Prem then meets Ten, a med student. When Ten asks Prem for cooking lessons, he agrees due to money problems. What will happen when sparks begin to fly in the kitchen?
FAVSSS!!!
Let me start off with the chemistry. Nothing can go wrong between Off and Gun!! But.. Neo and Aungpao? Let me just- AHHHHHHHH!!!! I LOVEEE THEM!! Neo can have chemistry with just about anyone. Take the actors from Only Friends for example, you could ship him with any of them and I'd be like "I could see it." But they came to win their fans hearts and THEY DID. Aungpao is such a great actor and I'm excited for his future projects, whether its with Neo or not.
THE OST WAS SO CATCHY!! Everytime it played in the background I couldn't stop myself from singing "You give me a sugar rush, you're my baby crush!!"
NEEDS SOME.. FIXING.
The storyline was a little messy. The acting wasn't as good as other series, but I can understand with the script. The random time jump?? It could have been better. I would like to see more series where they're out of their college/high school days. Especially with OffGun. Cmon GMMTV!! They're in their 30's, lets see some more mature series which I know they can do with their potential.
Overall, this was a sweet, lighthearted series. I would recommend to those who just need a wholesome watch for a bit. Plus, the friendship between Unky and Metha was just AMAZING. I laughed at almost every scene of theirs.

Super cute, and definitely worth watching if you like OffGun!
This may be the first time I started a series because I like the bts chemistry of the main characters, and I don't think this series disappointed at all! It was quite sad seeing many people not enjoying OffGun in this serious, and I can definitely see why. But I love their chemistry, and the absolutely hilarious comedy (not everyone will enjoy comedy of course), and I love the friendship groups of both leads.Prem's grandma is an absolute cutie, and need I mention the couple who everyone thinks overshone the main cpl Dynamite and Firefy! They really have such a great story and I enjoyed their relatinoship as much as Ten x Prem, although I won't say I liked them better, cuz i seriously love OffGun.
The premise of the show is supposed to be 'cooking', and I do think it's cute that we have a foodie x passionate chef pairing, that's always such an adorable trope! But admittedly the premise doesn't really add anything relatively important to the plot. But I did go into this mindlessly just to watch the sweet moments of the couples, hence why my rating is probably a lot higher than others.
But overall, I would definitely recommend this if you want some sweet OffGun / Dynamite x Firefy moments, they're definitely worth the time!
PS: Ten's step-mum is actually quite likeable despite her knack to cause trouble for Ten

1 Star Michelin: Worth a Try
Honestly, the story wasn't all that interesting. What hooked me was mainly just OffGun's chemistry. I did begin to favor the side couple as time went by, but the main leads were definitely the reason I stayed. This was wholesome, hilarious, and surprisingly emotional at times. As a story, it's not special, but as a lighthearted show, it sure is entertaining. OffGun can truly make anything work! The only things kind of throwing me off was the lack of engaging story and the caricature designs of the side characters. Overall, I enjoyed watching this, and it was a pretty solid watch. A typical Thai romcom, nothing groundbreaking can be expected but it's like a sweet treat for a gloomy day.Was this review helpful to you?

It is okay
Cooking Crush is another OffGun series and these two will always serve the chemistry because this is just really nice and sweet. The story follows a medical student who wanted to learn how to cook from someone he just met because it resembled the taste of the food that he liked when he was younger and when his mother was still alive. Little did he know is that this kid that he met is a culinary student who is the grandson of the owner of the restaurant that he loves. This is when things will get a bit more interesting as they try to navigate their feelings toward each other and learn that they are actually more than what they expected to be. They are actually in love. I think what we can say is that this follows the very standard rules of creating BL stories as it is very focused on giving us a romantic couple and sweet moments in between but what made me so invested with this story is the execution of the show. They did not try to make it overly complicated but instead made the characters pretty interesting by making them really focus on their ideologies. We got to see a really good shift with Ten’s character when he fell in love. You can see him clearly smitten with Prem and what is so good about this chemistry is that they are consistent. Again, they did not try to overly complicate the story and the main obstacle for the relationship is Ten’s dad and I understand why. The chemistry of Gun’s Prem and Off’s Ten is really good. I will be a sucker for a strong relationship and the fact that we got to slowly feel for these characters is interesting enough for me. They are in love with each other and they are showing us that by really working well with each other. It is a pretty good progression and it worked so well. It is like watching these two really play well alongside each other that everything felt effortless which is so simple to watch that I just really wanted to root for them and I think that is such a nice thing to have. They are a professional love team by now and it worked. The secondary couple as well is good. It had a more dramatic setup with Fire and Dynamite but they are okay. To be honest, I was more invested with Samsi and Metha. I am seriously rooting for these two together because their banter is so natural and was really funny if you will ask me. They have so much chemistry too but they were more a comedic partner here than anything else as Samsi ended up with Pang, Prem’s sister. I am a bit disappointed with that but who cares. I still think that the show delivered what it needed and the episode titles being different Thai dishes is just so smart to have. I really enjoyed how their culture was really highlighted with the food that they were making while presenting such a sweet love story. It is a good show. Was this review helpful to you?
I think Not Me and Theory of Love made my expectations too high.
This was fine. A perfectly okay fluffy rom-com. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit disappointed after seeing the main actors in Not Me and Theory of Love previously.I found myself bored and tuning out frequently. And the humor rarely landed for me. But it had a few cute moments, and the actors are still competent.

Average fluffy romance
This show was cute, easy to watch, and engaged me until the end. It’s just your average rom-com, with many sweet but almost silly moments between Off and Gun.Most of the storyline was highly predictable, but there were some moments where I questioned what would happen next and looked forward to the next episode. the side romance between Fire and Dynamite was a good addition to the story.
Not Me was my first OffGun series, so it was very strange seeing a different, sweet side of the two actors, especially Off 😂
having seen some of their other shows, I think more serious, emotionally complicated characters suit both Off and Gun’s acting styles better; however, this is a nice fluffy watch for fans of OffGun who want to watch something uncomplicated.

Offgun saved the show for me
The show was really enjoyable for me due to offgun playing the main roles. Their acting is always on top and as always they had a great chemistry. I’m not really sure if I’d carried on watching without them. For me there was quite a lot of unnecessary effects and too many scenes giving me second hand embarrassment. The storyline was really simple and not really anything new, but I think it was also really cute. I would recommend this show to all offgun fans, they had so many adorable scenes and it makes you fall in love with them even more. Despite its weaknesses, it was one of the shows that always improve your day and make you smile. Was this review helpful to you?

Light entertainment for me
Nothing special about this BL, but good enough to entertain myself by binge-watching the first 8 episodes, then watching the last four episodes weekly,. It wasnt something I would die for every Sunday, but it was okay. Usually watched it the following day (Monday or Tuesday). Everything was predictable. Parents understood their kids at the end. Grandma was so nice until the last episode. The three friends remained friends forever and each found their partners. Everybody lived happily ever after (at least, that was shown in the last episode).Of course the food was so apetizing, especially Grandma's cooking, and whatever Prem and Ten cooked at the end. I'm not to keen on the fancy dishes made for the chef competition (or any chef competition with Asian food) which looked too artificial and unappetizing. Would rather have regular Thai street food :-)

Watch for OffGun
Cooking Crush was about what I expected it to be: a silly goofy gay romance. Don't go in expecting anything other than that, and it's a great watch. There might not be much in the way of drama, but boy is it cute and fun!Prem (Gun) is a culinary student, who doesn't really stick out with his abilities, but does an okay job. When his sister loses her tuition money, Prem needs a way to get it back fast. Ten (Off) is a med student who decides he wants to learn to cook - but really, he just wants to be around Prem. Prem charges him an outrageous fee for cooking lessons, but Ten doesn't mind since his dad is wealthy. The two get closer during their cooking lessons, and feelings start to emerge between them, but it seems there will be some obstacles before they can be together.
If you like OffGun, you should watch this. It's really goofy, and no problems seem to be drawn out too long. Overall a good show and an easy watch.

Just another forgettable watch, but OffGun's chemistry sparks
What can I ask more than OffGun kissing in every episode. Their chemistry is certainly strong but with this story, I just couldn't enjoy that much. Maybe because I am still in OffGun Not me era and couldn't get out of it yet.No doubt it is just a easygoing, lighthearted show. I was not invested in the storyline. To explain it more clearly; it wasn't like I would watch one ep and think about it all week and keep waiting for the next. This was more like I would watch just because I want to watch not giving much thought to it and have nothing else to watch.
What I liked about this show:
1. I liked the friendship dynamics of both the groups(Prem Dy Unky) and (Ten Fy Metha) .
2. Comedy was fine in the beginning.
3. Dynamite's character development, from being annoying to mature.
4. Offcourse, Off gun kissing in every episode
5. Food dishes.
Overall: Not the best but not the worst either...

Not bad, just a bit boring
I finished it, probably will only rewatch Neo and Aungpao’s scenes if I rewatch. It’s not a bad series, just a bit boring in my opinion. There are a lot of scenes where I found myself losing interest and waiting for it to switch up. I needed more excitement and Comedy in this RomCom.I think my main issue was the portrayal of Prem. He is a person who is so flat and boring that the scenes were also flat and boring. When a character is so non-descript then the plot really needs to carry the show, and it was to me way too predictable. Even the «plot twists» they introduced in the last couple of episodes made me roll my eyes instead of introducing any «drama» or excitement.
The love between the characters were believable, however the OffGun chemistry did nothing for me. It’s trying to be a wholesome series, and it does manage to be that. It was sweet, but it did not make me giddy. Although the main couple did have some shining moments that I liked, overall in my opinion, half the scenes with the cooking were too long and could have been left out.
The couple that were making me feel things were NeoAungpao. The side-couple carried majorly. I found myself tuning in each week for them and not the main couple. Without them or the friend characters introducing some personality into the show, I would probably have dropped the series.
