so freaking adorable
there is something to be said about just a cute, sweet, romantic series without much angst.I loved Cherry Magic Japan I don’t think a series has never made me laugh as hard as that did so I was hesitant about the Thai version. but here is the thing they are completely different. yes the premise is the same, but the Thai version has so much depth in it.
it was the slowest of slow burns but dang was it good. this is probably my favorite TayNew series now.
also Karan is the greenest of green flags.

Taynew comeback
The story was amazing and the acting was making it more amazing because it is Taynew, making the whole series questiong are they Karan and Achi or Tay and New. The proposing was making me tear because it is show that it doesn’t have to be the top propose to the bottom because when you have love, it does not matter. What unexpectingly was the tear of Achi (New) was not in the plot, which make it more emotional and a new level of acting.Was this review helpful to you?
Cute and Sweet Pairs
It is a heartwarming and beautiful depiction of how both Achi and Karan fall for each other because of their kindness. There is a warmth to the story’s well-placed humor. And a sincerity in the way it has begun to tell each character’s story. Newwiee is adorable as the fluffy Achi, who despite being a hard-working employee has low self-esteem issues. Tawan is equally good as the dashing Karan, with a blinding smile that has all the office girls weak in their knees. Most of the story unfolds in an office set-up, which was a refreshing change from all the college fluff such series are filled with.Was this review helpful to you?
P*RN WITHOUT ANY PLOT AND WITHOUT ANY FEELINGS OF LOVE
Thai ruined another great Japanese BL after Love Stage.Those liking this trash are only obsessed stalker fans of those u*gly actors. All fans are happy that Japan intervened legally, now only waiting for this to be cancelled forever. And the actors can end in disgrace to ruin it.
U*ly actors that can't act at all, 0 chemistry, and only sly perverted kisses.
Karan is an obsessed stalker who wants to r*pe Achi, withou any fanboy love feelings from the original.
Achi is a party boy, without any antisocial skills from the original.
People are too blatant and ridiculous that can't even understand the difference between being antisocial and being shy.
second pair is so stupid i can't, without feelings from the original.
And those stupid perverted inserted touchy thing, totally unnecessary.
They say it's an adaptation of the manga, but they should explain why they cut half of the manga, without adapting it.
As always, Thai are too p*rn and too touchy to be able to adapt more delicate and pure BL like that. They have the flavor of lust and s*x, not the flavor of love.
I don't recommend this trashy thing to anyone, and i'm happy that every Japanese BL fans raised in protest.

Cute and funny watch just not didn’t meet my expectations
Cute and funny, a lot of fluff and 0 drama. But I personally couldn’t enjoy it as much because I kept comparing it the Japanese version (Cherry Maho) So even though it’s very different I will say some of the differences I noticed for those who want to know.1. Characters
So first obviously we have to talk about the big change in personality of the characters, now of course not all had a big change but some of them did.
•Kurosawa-Karan
Karan is overall, a more expressive character mostly since we got to hear his crazy thoughts which clashed with his cool personality but I also feel we didn’t get to know the real Karan not the mind Karan. Also I felt that Karan wasn’t as much of a green flag, as much as people like to think, Karan was jealous but jealous really jealous and since he is more expressive it came across as invasive, Karan also was pretty obsessed with Achi by waiting outside his house and all, then him going to visit that much when Achi was working made the then climax of Achi loosing his powers loose the build up and longing
•Adachi-Achi
Achi generally just really didn’t struggle as much as Adachi did, If he ever really was which made me feel like he could’ve gotten with Karan even without the powers, also since the problems got solved very quickly which thanks to that we got less angst and drama but it also took a big part of the depth of the show.
•Side Couple(s)
The Thai version did a better job developing the side characters and their relationships considering they had more time to give them; like Jinta Min which was alright but at least 10 times better than the JP ver. I personally didn’t like the RockJoi pairing though it was just kinda not interesting and had too much screen time for my taste but considering the long time they had, it was kinda necessary
2. Main relationship progression
Weirdly even though this drama is longer it felt like things were going too quickly, KaranAchis relationship was very fast I didn’t feel like there was enough progression and time, which just made it feel fake, and as much as I like TayNews interactions and interviews (I have seen many) I don’t know if I felt like they were a believable relationship, and it definitely has a lot to do with the story and the pacing I mentioned before
Conclusion:
So even though I personally prefer the JP version I also feel this one is pretty different and overall not bad I would recommend it

a primeira vez que eu vi o anúncio sobre o remake de cherry magic eu odiei, não fazia sentido nenhum pra mim um remake de uma obra que era relativamente recente. por este motivo, não acompanhei a série conforme foi saindo semanalmente, e lembro que ao tentar ver o primeiro episódio eu achei algo legal mas nada mais, então, não continuei a série. após ver muitas pessoas elogiando eu decidi dá uma nova chance e valeu a pena.é complicado não fazer uma comparação entre as versões existentes mas honestamente eu acho que ambas tem seus pontos fortes e valem a pena serem assistidas. o casal principal é perfeito em ambas as versões, impossível não vibrar com eles. sobre os personagens secundários o da versão thai me agradou muito mais, são personagens mais divertidos e tem uma história mais interessante, o casal secundário me vez vibrar mais com eles (apesar de ter ficado decepcionado com o "apagamento" deles no final de série) de um modo geral eu recomendaria a versão japonesa primeiro, ela tem uma duração muito menor e conta muito bem a história, mas também recomendaria a versão thai pois ela conseguiu ser um bom remake.

I genuinely don’t even know where to start because Cherry Magic was just THAT good. Like, everything about it was perfect from my point of view. It had literally everything I could ever want in a show—the chemistry, the acting, the story, the emotions—ALL of it was done so well. I honestly can’t think of a single thing I didn’t like!The way they acted felt so real, and their expressions?? So natural and full of emotion. Every scene gave me butterflies. I loved how clear and sweet the story was, but also meaningful. I even learned things from it, which made it hit even harder.
It was wholesome, romantic, funny, soft, and just beautiful to watch. I’m SO glad I watched it because it honestly made me feel so much. Like no joke, this isn’t just a 10/10… it’s a solid, no-doubt, “I’d watch it again and again” 10/10!!!

HANDS DOWN, THE ULTIMATE BL SERIES REMAKE OF ALL TIME!
I’ve got so much love for this series; it’s honestly the best BL series remake I’ve ever seen!I’ve checked out both the Japanese and Thai versions, and I can say without a doubt that the Thai version blows Cherry Magic JP out of the water. The writing, production, storytelling, and character development are all top-notch. The Japanese version just doesn’t have the same nuance and care that Thai’s version delivers, and GMMTV really hit it out of the park this time.
New’s performance was incredible, and I’m so glad he brought Achi to life. Tay as Karan and the rest of the cast also did an amazing job, really making the characters feel real.
If I started listing everything I loved about this series, my review could easily turn into a novel! I’m just so happy I got to experience it. Even though it’s a fantasy, it beautifully captures how real, gentle, kind, and respectful love can be. The story is fantastic, and while I liked the Japanese version, the Thai version took it to another level—especially with the actual kisses, which were definitely needed in the Japanese version!
Kudos to TAYNEW and the other Cast👏👏👏

Cherry magic TH is comfort!
So cherry magic TH is the first BL series I decided to watch after my long break from BLs. One day I just came across the poster and thought why not give it a chance and I am proud of my decision since then. I just loved the story like how it was simple and just completely magic. The positivity brings you comfort and it feels like to just go back again and again to watch it.TayNew are the best. I am happy that they were the chosen ones to play the character of achi and karan and they just served the best chemistry. The actors they are... It is commendable. The emotions were getting reflected through their eyes. And after knowing that their real personalities are way too different from their characters, it is more fascinating to watch.
The series will make u happy, complete and fulfilled. If you are going through sadness, heartbreak and need that energy just watch it and it will make your heart light.

A universal true love story, very funny true rom com - great script and even well done acting
Super cute, realistic, and very funny story of true love. A true rom-com.>>>> I recommend this drama to anyone - straight or not, young or old, first timers or married for 100 yrs. <<<<<
The drama shows what true love looks like, acts like and thinks like...... It is true love between two very kind nice people.
It is filmed in a really fun and creative way too. The music is fantastic. Camera is so creative. That scene when the water bottle drops from Kurosawa's hand, outside of the restaurant...
SUCH REAL DETAILS, filmed and acted so well, it is so endearing and so funny too
This is a rare jdrama that has good acting :)
The script is great. This is a story of true love as it is in real life, to normal nice people. It is sexy in good taste, it is caring without soapy, it is very very very GENUINE and realistic and HEALTHY. It does not have false prudishness like most straight kdramas have, and it does not have overdone lewdness and twisted sexuality - esp. associating s.x with violence and games - like so many BL dramas have.
This drama is a super cute story of true love. So different than most BL dramas which honestly are too lewd or playing games. This drama too has a very common plot of a convinced gay male who runs into a closeted gay male and kinda shocks him and cajoles him into it, however, it lacks the sexualization and predatory feeling that so many BL dramas have.
This drama is UNIVERSAL, you could play it with straight or any other ppl too.
Kurosaw is so sensitive, caring, attentive, honest, and gentle yet sexy, he is a true love that anyone - straight or gay - could only dream about, as ppl like this are very rare.
The same for Achi, he is so honest, self aware, brave in stating his feelings, and extremely caring and kind too. The two have found each other, the cats of the same kind :) kind honest ppl.
Also, I was thinking, the only way to produce such a great Japanese male lover, so sophisticated, sensitive, caring, considerate, gentle, hot like Kurosawa was to make him gay. If Kurosawa was into women, he might have not been this caring all the time bc it is just not how you treat women in a sexist society.... most likely, it would have been a lot harder to keep the equality between the lovers. Sad but true :)
Also, I was thinking, the only way to produce such a brave shy person like Achi in Japan was to make him gay. If he were a woman, he would probably suffer from inferiority and self repression to some degree. He is free to be brave and to express bc he is male, that is my educated guess.
But - the love between them is portrayed in UNIVERSAL way - love between two PEOPLE. Straight relationships could benefit from this story so much.
The plot is actually a mimic on the common straight plot from kdramas - a popular charmer suave guy falls in love with a clumzy insecure not-popular shy loser chick who is KIND good person. In the straight context, this plot is super sexist. The female is the dumb one and the male is the smart one who runs her life bc she is so incompetent she cannot survive on her own. Such dramas glorify the man as the "higher" one.
In this gay drama, the main protagonist is an insecrure clumzy unpopular shy target of love.
But this drama is a twist on that, and how it is done is so ... well done. The drama does not put anyone down, nor does it make the "more suave" person more "interesting" or "higher" in status. The suave guy who is pursuing him is popular yet genuinely kind, decent, honest person. And the shy guy is not dumb or ignorantly unaware... The shy guy is smart, observant, self reflective, and proactive.
Truely they are equals.
As for acting, Kurosawa is perfect. That actor might be gay or bi in real life. Achi actor is .. hm.. sometimes it is obvious he is pretending. Is the actor a straight person in real life? he was acting scenes with a woman a lot more naturally.
I would encourage everyone to read the review that is on the top o MDL reviews, by TangYang. It says it all :) I just filled in some holes.
This drama reminds me of BL kdrama Heesu from Class 2 which talks about two gay male high schoolers in love and one of them getting out of the closet. Heesu drama also has positive female models and female friends and straight friends and does not portray life as "planet inhabited by gay males" as most BL dramas do. Hessu drama is balanced, just like this drama.

Pure Escapist Sweetness
I don't usually write reviews but I also don't usually rewatch dramas either and I rewatched this entire drama right after finishing it the first time. First, the negatives (they are very minor): Some weird edits/cuts, music was mediocre and the secondary couples didn't hold my interest at all. But the positives! Wow! The chemistry between the leads was amazing (I did some research afterwards and can see that they have acted as a couple several times before). Maybe that is why they seemed so comfortable with each other. I found myself squeeing even from the hugs and eye contact. The snogging was next level even though there really wasn't enough of it for my taste. The romance is soft and sweet and the overall 'feel' of it was like having a cozy blanket thrown over you on a rainy day. Also, there were nice, kind and strong female characters (no annoying female antagonist which is way too common in BL dramas). I highly recommend watching this (and rewatching). I prefer the japanese version
I prefer the japanese version (2020). The thai one (2023) is not managed as well as the previous one (japanese one). As for the structure, the japanese version is divided in one series, two specials (one per couple) and a movie; the thai version is a longer series.There are technical aspects like the music and the effects that were better chosen and managed in the japanese series. That version is funnier, more like a series among adults, like it should be due to the setting. The dialogues are better, deeper, there’s a more profound analysis of the character’s feelings. The filmography and the screenplay are very well detailed and everything is well balanced. Watching the thai version, I felt like they decided to throw things in with no precise order, just like the infinite number of commercials. Whoever worked on the script did not understand the original characters and the series’ charm one bit, because the main source is not the manga. They could have added some pretious moments but decided to go for the classic thai bl trope. For example, Karan’s family problems that were never mentioned before, suddenly appear in the last episode. Or the company rule about relationships that just makes no sense, plus Karan’s test that is just a classic childish move. Also, Karan’s obsession toward Achi is more aggressive than Kurosawa’s for Adachi; consider that the level was already high. Conseguently Achi's decision to accept his behaviour just feeds a toxic dinamic. Finally, there’s a continue comparison between Karan’s and Achi’s positions and role at work, more untiring and recurring, but no real mention of Achi's poor social skills.
I appreciate few things. Firstly, I find the cast choices just perfect for every role from Karan to the company’s boss. The acting is not bad either in particular if we look at the main couple (TayNew). They have been acting as a couple since Kiss Me Again (2018), their chemistry and comfort towards each other on the screen is visible. As for the side couple (JuniorMark), I could see that this is their first series together as a couple, they are cute but not really natural and linked. Same thing for the third couple, only added in the thai version; the classic side couple: nice interactions, pleasant mutual support, no physical contact. Speaking of which, I enjoy the main couple’s intimate upgrade: few kisses, a partial sex scene and most importantly Tay Tawan shirtless.
