The plot is all over the place
I started this drama thinking I would see miles in his CEO era or professor but boy was I wrong, the leads were exceptionally childish, because I do not understand for the life of me why you would have a crush on each other for 10 years but decide to pretend you don’t know each other.FL is a terrible and self centred friend the plot it’s cliche and boring and the second couple actually have more going on for them. the worst part is having men who are almost 40 wearing school uniforms when they could easily pay younger actors a stipendWas this review helpful to you?

Miles needs a better agent
I picked this up for an easy vacation watch, primarily because I like Miles Wei as an actor. I have a high tolerance for guilty pleasure tropes. I even watch those kidnapping the bride micro dramas, so I wasn’t looking for anything complex, but this was still a letdown. The main couple has cute chemistry and there are some genuinely funny scenes, but the storyline itself is just not entertaining.
It got so boring that I honestly have no clue what happened between episodes 24 and 30. I had to skip almost everything just to get to the end.
The Career Loop:
Miles is a great actor being wasted by a bad agent. He’s been stuck in the CEO drama loop for way too long. It makes no sense that he’s taking a supporting role in Love Beyond the Grave with Arthur as a lead ...when he’s clearly lead material, but perhaps these repetitive CEO roles are all he’s being offered.
Overall, this was a boring drama. Miles is carrying these projects on his back, and I’m ready to see him move on. I truly hope he finds a successful, challenging role soon that actually does his talent justice and breaks him out of this cycle.

how awkward can you be and for how long?
What would happen if the two most painfully awkward people on the planet had crushes on each other ? well, 28 hours later I can tell you it should’ve only taken 10 to get through most of that. I like a good slow burn. This was just too slow. Some really poignant moments , But a lot of disjointed or incongruous moments too. Considering the overall feel good momentum, the over-the-top dramatic part seemed a bit much. Some of it was too “ MESSAGE!” which is crappy. I like seeing dragon 😆Was this review helpful to you?
ML gives me the ick so bad
i really tried and forced myself to like it bc I think both are good actors and the story is a classic with a twist BUT the male lead is so bad (not the actor just the role). The way he forces himself in her life especially in a position where she must trust him as a lawyer idk its not for mepersonally I also dont find hin that attractive but due to the fact that his acting is quite good I never minded that but in this drama this adds to it
also the manipulation (with the help from the other lawyer but the fact that the ml plays him also dirty) up to just ep 6 no thx

Must recommend for light comedy with sweet romance.
Well, I have watched first 4 episodes of this drama.First of all the cast including supporting character is well settled. And very important thing that they are very convincing. I love this drama very much not dut to cast but they acting. Their little comedy gestures look very realistic. In first 4 episodes there is not much music so I don't know about it. But overall the drama has delivered the starting impact.
As discussed by two other users above they were talking about male lead I love his acting very much and I am watching for quite a long time. But female lead is soon soo good. Her acting looks very natural not convincing.
So over all I recommend this drama to those who is fan of calming and comforting drama well this is for you.
Thanks.

It pains me to rate a Miles Wei show so low!
I cut my Chinese drama teeth on Miles Wei dramas and completely fell in love with the kind of characters he played. So stoic and businesslike. So, to not be 10/10 in love with this show, I feel like sulking in the corner.
The male lead was such a gentle soul, a green flag, though he got up to some lying and trickery; at his heart was a deep-rooted love for his school crush. I'm a fan, so of course, he stole every scene with his yearning eyes.
If I could base my rating solely on the acting of both the leads and the secondary cast, I would definitely give them 10! I had zero complaints about the acting. They did the best job with a subpar script.
But was it the writers' first day on the job? They dragged this plot so much that I almost lost the will to live at certain points.
Some parts were so enjoyable. I appreciated how gentle and show-growing it was, but other parts were just so left field, like they'd forgotten where they were supposed to take the story.
How gorgeous was the female lead’s apartment? The aesthetic was so warm and cozy.
It was my first time watching anything from this actress, and I loved her calm, sweet demeanor. I will definitely watch more from her in the future.

Not my type of drama
I can accept slowburn romance drama.. example Meet Yourself..i could finish ep40 just like that n even repeat for the 2nd time. But this drama fateful love, i just couldn't accept it. The FL is so boring, the expression is almost the same for all types of emotion she tried to portray.. story development too slow n boring. I love miles wei.. but this drama i just couldn't. So Far So Good!
I was only browsing some Cdrama OSTs on Spotify and saw a playlist of this drama. The FL looked familiar to me then remembered that I first saw Zheng He Hui Zi in Wonderland of Love and got fascinated by her beauty and performance. I wished she would have a Main Lead role soon and this is it! This drama is so good and her acting performance is superb! From facial expressions up to aesthetics. Even the setting of the drama is eye catching like you were watching romantic Jdrama.Congratulations and hope all the best for your career!

I don’t drop dramas lightly—but this one made it ridiculously easy.Let’s get straight to it: the male lead isn’t “romantic,” “misunderstood,” or “protective.” He’s obsessive, controlling, and straight-up unsettling. And we’re only TWO episodes in.
After ten years, the leads meet again…and both pretend they don’t even know each other. Fine, that’s a trope. But what follows is not tension—it’s borderline disturbing behavior.
This man hasn’t exchanged even a proper sentence with the female lead, yet somehow acts like he owns her. He inserts himself into her life, interferes with her relationships, and starts making assumptions about her like he’s been monitoring her for a decade. Where exactly was he for those ten years? Because he’s acting like he left her on pause.
And the “lawyer” angle? Don’t even get me started.
He calls her his client—based on what? A technicality? A delusion? He doesn’t even have a proper license to practice law in China, yet throws around authority like he’s running the legal system. That’s not confidence, that’s fantasy. Worse, he uses this fake professional stance to justify controlling behavior. That crosses from annoying into toxic.
Also, the audacity to assume things about her personal life after a decade of absence? He behaves as if she’s been frozen in time, waiting for him. Reality check: she could have had relationships, experiences, a whole life—but he walks in acting like he gets to decide who she meets or dates.
That’s not love. That’s entitlement.
And honestly, it’s frustrating how the show frames this as intense romance instead of what it actually is: a man with zero respect for boundaries, professionalism, or basic human decency.
A male lead who is supposedly a lawyer but doesn’t understand consent, autonomy, or ethical conduct? That’s not complex writing—it’s just bad writing.
Final verdict: Dropped at episode 3
because the core dynamic is uncomfortable, unrealistic, and deeply toxic.
If this is supposed to be “fateful love,” then fate seriously needs better standards.

A Real Comedy that You Must Watch
This is one of the most humorous dramas I’ve come across. After watching Miles Wei play a villain in *Love Beyond the Grave*, I was surprised to see a preview of him in a completely different light—acting funny and showing off his comedic side. Since I enjoy comedy, this drama quickly became one of my favorites. Was this review helpful to you?
