Miles needs a better agent

I picked this up for an easy vacation watch, primarily because I like Miles Wei as an actor. I have a high tolerance for guilty pleasure tropes. I even watch those kidnapping the bride micro dramas, so I wasn’t looking for anything complex, but this was still a letdown.

The main couple has cute chemistry and there are some genuinely funny scenes, but the storyline itself is just not entertaining.

It got so boring that I honestly have no clue what happened between episodes 24 and 30. I had to skip almost everything just to get to the end.

The Career Loop:
Miles is a great actor being wasted by a bad agent. He’s been stuck in the CEO drama loop for way too long. It makes no sense that he’s taking a supporting role in Love Beyond the Grave with Arthur as a lead ...when he’s clearly lead material, but perhaps these repetitive CEO roles are all he’s being offered.

Overall, this was a boring drama. Miles is carrying these projects on his back, and I’m ready to see him move on. I truly hope he finds a successful, challenging role soon that actually does his talent justice and breaks him out of this cycle.

Perfect, Simple and loveable

It’s probably a good drama to watch, but the biggest downside for me is that it feels a bit stretched at times. Instead of having 30 long episodes, they could have reduced it to 24 or, at most, 26. This might just be my Gen Z brain struggling to focus while trying to watch the same show for two straight days instead of doomscrolling.

I used to enjoy long episode dramas, but with this one, I found myself feeling bored at certain points, like during the scene where the celebrity and the fanboy are making a song together. Celebrity and the fanboy making a song together, and that's all
. Overall, the best drama to watch. There's this chemistry between the mains that is quirky and loved to watch, you sometimes get that butterfly in your stomach

Silent secret crush

The main and second leads had really cute moments and had an overall good story together. But, the middle dragged on far too long. It really could've been a 26 or less episode series. I started to lose interest near the back half. Pacing is very slow and story was quite predictable. They did a good job wrapping up all the loose ends, which I really liked. Also, bonus points for getting Zhang Yuan to sing! The music was great throughout. Overall a solid watch if you are looking for something easy, not very stimulating, and fan of the young love that matures.

They dragged the misunderstanding part for too long

I watched this drama because i just want to watch modern Drama and actually the premises was not something innovative (secret love and mutual pining). but i interested with plagiarism plot. Miles Wei not playing CEO persona (well-he is lawyer but his typecast was unfortunate). The thing that i hate for this drama is Mango TV mess subtitle. Zheng He Hui Zi was okay as Ruan Yu but actually there is nothing make me remember anything about her character. I love slow burn romance but this drama was dragged for too long and it feels like i am watching usual duanju about secret love (misunderstand after misunderstand) and i lost drama sparks after they got together on episode 23. I don't buy about second pair story, their story was too boring and i ended up fast forwarding their part.

For the chemistry between Miles Wei and Zheng He Hui Zi, i still enjoy their banter and personally both of them didn't suit the school uniform costume and they didn't give any change for hairstyle since they are obviously look mature.

Did i enjoy it? i still enjoy this drama and it could be my light drama list.

enjoyed watching main leads! the rest is boring

Sometimes I feel like watching something light and sweet. Ofc a 30-episode drama can't be perfect. Although we've been waiting for the characters to reunite their love for a long time, I really enjoyed their love story. They look incredibly beautiful together and the last two episodes were absolutely stunning! I was completely delighted with both the beginning of their love and its continuation. Their visuals and chemistry were the reasons why I continued watching the drama.
On the downside, there were abrupt shifts in the plot from one event to another, followed by a focus on the second event. This happened from episode 14 to 20, where the interactions between the main characters were minimized or put on hold for an extended period. This was disappointing, because all those side stories seemed dull.
When watching this drama, there's no need to overthink the events. It's like a fairy tale about a princess and her prince. Although the female lead had difficulty understanding certain things, we all know that it was done to stretch the plot. In certain situations, her lack of understanding even seemed amusing. So, just relax and enjoy the chemistry between Wei Zhe Min and Zheng He Hui Zi!

Pontos Fortes: Química do casal principal (Miles Wei e Zheng Hehuizi) e narrativa romântica.
Conclusão: É uma boa pedida para quem busca um drama romântico e confortável para o fim de semana, com uma mistura nostálgica de amores de juventude.

It's quite good actually..

I'm not entirely happy with this show, The amount of ideology & social engineering in the drama is on a very high level compared to the average cdrama fare. Also the last -fairly fluffy- 10 episodes are not only largely filled with these, but also ML's fox-like personality is toned down to the usual male servant to the princess type, which is a shame, because I expected more comedy & fun bickering instead, but it's on the lifeless side, going through the motions.

So why is still an 8? Well, the biggest positive point is that the drama is low key very funny for the most part. There are so many Chinese so called romantic comedies that are not funny at all, the skits here worked for me. Also the flow of the story is somewhat sensible. Like sure the progress bar goes even slower here than in "You are My Lover Friend" but at least the roadblocks -mostly- make sense & don't feel arbitrarily manufactured. The setting is interesting enough too, like secret crushes, the novels with the two perspectives & mandatory plagiarism case aside despite the nigh insurmountable need for propaganda the writers did a very good job, at least for the first 2/3rds of the show that is certainly true. Like epi14 for example, in a Korean drama that plot would've happened in e11 of 12 & here they really made it more fun than usual, even with the resolution taking place in a village that is clearly some kind of product placement.

Miles Wei did well here, playing a character that is unusual for him & the FL is Pei Pei from You Are My Glory. Like that's a TRANSFORMATION..

I dislike love triangles a lot, but the 3rd wheel here is basically just a tool for gags, I think this much is tolerable & fairly well executed.

I recognize that my given score is too high objectively speaking, but in 2026 when the kdrama scene is near completely enshttified & cdrama writers have to fight an increasingly uphill battle against censorship & party guidelines, we can even consider You Are My Fateful Love a gem or a banger. Finding something new that I can still enjoy is getting harder year by year & this I did enjoy quite a bit..

Would have benefitted from a better director!

The drama could have been better!

I read the book and enjoyed it but I had a hard time finishing the drama.

I had a hard time with the flow of the drama. The relationship did not flow for me. In parts, it was slow and in other parts too quick.

Instead of the filler episodes, I would have loved a more fleshed out development of their feelings for each other's as adults with their real personalities.

I also had a hard time with FL emotional acting (I think bubbly characters suit her more. The emotions of someone stalked and insulted online, whose father was taken hostage were not well shown in her acting). Miles Wei did better in the few moments where he had to show emotions especially during his scenes with the younger actress playing his baby sister when their family was insulted and shunned because his father was a defence lawyer. He is the more experienced actor but I really hope that he branches out of these roles and takes on more fleshed out characters. He is typecast into these roles but he is working well with the script he has. The FL I feel was a miscast, or she maybe would have done well if she had been given more direction in how to interpret her characters emotions. This is just my opinion.

Special mention to 2nd couple. I loved them but their story could have been more developed if the break up with their previous partners happened earlier in the story or if their interactions were more subtle from the beginning (directors know how to show connections or potential chemistry with very little). Their relationship was too quick, there was no getting to know each other. You don't even know why they like each other... but the chemistry was there. I would have loved to see them in another drama as a couple.

Overall an ok drama for me. Could have been better. 7/10.

Romantic comedy/drama

This series starts out with a lot of comedy, then it brings in some light drama. The cast is great, this is a good story. By the middle of the series the lawyers deal with some cases, which is just not what I enjoy. Overall it is a great series. I just did not finish the series as the conclusion seems to be before the ending.

You Are My Faithful Clichés

This drama comes off as an "old faithful" sort if romance drama. It knew what the target audience was and it catered to those wants and needs. And overall, because it's not a flashy or ground-breaking drama, it mostly hits its targets.

If you want to know if you will like this drama, here is a taste of what is inside this storyline:

▪︎ 3 Couples
▪︎ Family drama
▪︎ Work scenes - writers/editors
▪︎ Work scenes - lawyers
▪︎ Flashbacks at the end of most episodes where people in their 30s pretend to pass for high schoolers
▪︎ 2ML friend unrequited love subplot
▪︎ 2L (smaller) subplot
▪︎ Cultural Heritage Tourism subplot
▪︎Blind dates subplot
▪︎ Cheating subplot
▪︎ Murder subplot
▪︎ Attempted SA subplot
▪︎ Entertainment Contract Rights subplot
▪︎ Family Illness subplot
▪︎ Long distance communication subplot
▪︎ More that I'm honestly forgetting

Ruan Yu (FL), and ML Xu Huaisong (ML) are almost 30, stuck in their High School crush and acting like Middle Schoolers. Xu Huaisong is a stalker and manipulater but he's adorable and too dumb to succeed on his own when it comes to her. Ruan Yu turns into a shy introvert who can barely string words together around the ML. Both of them literally drop stacks of papers upon hearing about/ seeing the other party for the first time in years. Yes, this is THAT cliché and clownish.

Their relationship develops at a snails pace because if they just admitted to liking eachother there would be no show. When they break for the cultural heritage subplot there is basically only a few scenes worth watching for their relationship progression and this subplot lasts multiple episodes. However, by the time they FULLY commit they go all in and it is essentially nothing but relationship fluff for the final episodes aside from a few other loose ends being wrapped up.

The 2nd couple were.... both cute and frustrating. Liu Mao was a Golden Retriever puppy complete with puppy dog eyes and crying scenes. Any time he was shot down or turned away it's an affront to all things cute and adorable. Meanwhile Shen Mingying was... a tough nut to crack. She was not someone who wanted a relationship and no matter what her own body, heart or soul told her she was fighting back with her mind building barriers and saying "no".

Finally we had Xu Huaishi and Zhao Yi, friends in High School where he has a crush on her. These two were some of the best scenes for 'me' personally. Xu Husishi always comes off as THE most mature person in the entire drama, an old soul that can handle "almost" anything that comes her way. And for what she can't handle, she's got Zhao Yi behind her as well as the two leads.

Essentially, this drama is a masterclass of clichés to make a drama that will have someone enjoy SOME part if not all the drama as long as that person is indeed looking for an "generic, formulaic, feel-good" multi-character-driven rom-com.

Final Rating 6/10

HEART-FLUTTERING CHEMISTRY

The storyline follows Ruan Yu, a full-time writer who finds herself in a legal battle after being accused of plagiarism. In a twist of fate, the intellectual property lawyer she hires is none other than Xu Huaisong, her high school crush and the real-life inspiration for the hero in her books. As they work to clear her name, old feelings resurface, and the 'fox and rabbit' dynamic between the calculating lawyer and the creative writer takes center stage.

Furthermore, let's be honest, Miles Wei in a well-tailored suit as a cold-on-the-outside, warm-on-the-inside lawyer is exactly what his fans want. He brings a grounded, mature energy to Xu Huaisong that makes the romance feel earned. One of the most praised aspects of the early episodes is the creative direction(like the video call scenes where the characters appear to be sitting right next to each other). It adds a modern, whimsical touch to the typical urban drama. Zheng He Hui Zi plays Ruan Yu with a great balance of vulnerability and wit. She isn't a damsel in distress; she's a professional fighting for her creative integrity, which makes her chemistry with Miles Wei much more balanced.

Moreover, the drama takes its time to let the 'separation' years ferment. If you prefer instant romance, the first few episodes focusing on the legal case and their reunion might feel a bit steady. There is a fair amount of talk about intellectual property law, though the show does a good job of keeping it relevant to the emotional stakes.

However, there are some slight cons in this drama, and one of them includes the female lead's lying arc and unfair judgment. Firstly, she spends a significant amount of time pretending she doesn't recognize Xu Huaisong from high school. This leads to some 'face-palm' moments where she has to lie to cover up her previous lies, which some viewers find more annoying than charming. Also, she was too quick to label Xu Huaisong as 'evil' or manipulative when misunderstandings arose, rather than looking at his consistent actions to help her. Another disadvantage is the subtitles, as they were either delayed or less polished on certain platforms compared to Viki or Netflix releases.

In conclusion, this drama is an unexpected gem of the 2026 spring season. It moves away from the 'silly' tropes of older rom-coms and gives us a mature, beautifully shot story about second chances.

A beautiful story told with plenty of love and care.

Loved it!! And felt so emotional with the wedding and all and everything wrapped up beautifully 😭😭
This is genuinely a beautiful story told with plenty of love and care. We only need to give it some time to appreciate all the little details.

The main leads story is incredibly heartfelt and touching. Exactly my take in a relationship and my cup of tea. Relationships or marriage is a ifetime's choice. You have to endure each other differences to make a relationship last ✨️
Lots of strong messages throughout.

The comedy in this drama is pure gold-
Wingman bromance Liu Mao and Xu Huaisong- my favourite- it's extra entertaining looking at Miles's signature gestures like one brow lift, ear twitch, mid air hand freeze, rock paper scissors, telepathic chats 🤣
High school besties rapid fire dialogues are too good
References to Meteor Garden characters Daoming Se and Huaze Lei 🤣
The siblings- Xu Huaisong and Xu Huaishi, especially the scene where she teaches him how to be cool like Li Shi Can 🎸🎤
Even the comedy between ML and SML is hilarious
The second hand embarrassment OMG 🤣🤭😝

Overall a delightful watch!
