The moment Love Upon a Time was announced with Net and JJ, expectations were already sky-high—and honestly, it did not disappoint.What makes this series stand out immediately is the acting. Net delivers a performance that feels grounded yet emotionally intense. There’s a certain quiet depth in the way he portrays longing and restraint, making even the smallest gestures feel meaningful. JJ, on the other hand, balances him perfectly with a more expressive and layered approach. His ability to shift from light, almost playful moments to deeply vulnerable scenes is what truly elevates their dynamic. Together, their chemistry feels natural, not forced—it flows in a way that makes you believe in every moment they share.
For a series that has built so much anticipation even before it began, they truly prove something—and it shows. So great was the pressure to conform, to take a spouse, to sire children, that the men could not cherish one another, lest they be cast into disrepute. I could no more abide this farce. The homophobia, nor the male fortune teller donning the semblance of a woman. "Womanhood" or "manhood" is not a garment to be donned or discarded at will

Love that transcends a lifetime
June 12, 2026Love Upon A Time is that motherfucking Thai BL of the year. Holy plot, it is so well-written. I never read the novel so I have no opinions regarding the adaptation. But as a drama, I must say I never had a boring experience with the show and characters. Phop and Klao/Nakhun really shows how a true great love is. I love this show so much, I am already looking forward to rewatching it in the future. I will miss waiting for Fridays to come just so I can tune in for the newest episode.
The chemistry is amazing, the characters are so well-written and well-rounded. The drama and angst were executed (pun intended) well.
You guys please give Love Upon A Time, the one true greatest love they deserve.
Ps, I can’t wait for more NetJJ and LatteKim projects, I hope they pick up good scripts and plot like this DMD. I am begging you!!!

First of all, I'd like to applaud this series for doing a specific thing, and that is, grabbing my attention for long!Usually, when I see 12 episodes with every episode being over an hour, I feel agitated, I'm afraid that it contains a lot of fillers that will eventually make me drop it.
But not this time! The plot, the actors and the pacing are all very comfortable for me.
Plot:
Very interesting time-travel plot, which I usually like. Set in the Ayutthaya period, it gives you an archaic feel. I never watched a historical Thai drama before, and most of the time-travel BL I read were set in ancient China, so I feel glad to have a new experience and learn more about Thai customs!
It has mystery and romance, and it's a bit slow-burn, which I prefer because I usually get bored if the main couple get together or kiss too fast. Here, you're anticipating it, and even after they're together, you don't get bored, because the story isn't over yet! There's still a mystery to solve!
Actors:
I'm glad I finally have the chance to see Net's handsome face on screen once again! And this time with his new partner JJ!
I hope everyone can support this new pair without making a fuss over the previous one, since they fit each other so well!
The acting was amazing and made my heart ache at times, I also loved JJ's comedic expressions haha they're so unique!
As for the longing in their eyes, oh my lord, it made my heart flutter! Especially Net's deep-as-the-ocean eyes ahhhh
Welcoming our new couple, LatteKim, I'd like to praise them very much as well. The thing I liked best about their acting is how different I felt their present vs. past selves to be, I just couldn't see them as the same person!!
I hope these actors get even better scripts in the future, I'm sure filming a historical piece was hard.
Other:
I loved their costumes, of course, and the archaic tone they spoke in. The rolled r's sound very pleasant to my ears and it lets me learn a bit of ancient Thai speaking, which I'm very interested in.
The lightning was gorgeous, it set the mood right. It complemented the chemistry the actors have together, especially, in that iykyk scene hehehehehe I loved it
Shout out to the servant characters who spoke up for our main couple and gave us some comedic relief ;')

If you can, please do watch it. I hope that this series can be more popular in the future and give our actors a lot of success :)
It managed to make me finish 12 long episodes, what else can I say? I'm not usually this patient, nor that interested.
Hehe this little historical forbidden love story is very much worth watching!

I'll admit it, I fell in love with Net in this series. I didn't realize that man is hot AF. 🤭🤭 And Latte... arghhh. Do I even need to explain myself when it comes to these two?Chemistry-wise, NetJJ and LatteKim are carrying it. Story-wise, it's amazing. They managed to perfectly balance the depth of the story, the comedy, the romance, and of course, the angst. I especially love the JomKaew angst. I'm a sucker for that kind of emotional pain.
As they say, Domundi has done it again. And one thing I always appreciate about DMD is how they handle their NC scenes. They're not driven purely by lust; they're delivered with passion, emotion, and the characters' devotion to each other.
One highlight I'll always remember is how cleverly they squeezed in Ichitan's ads. Seriously, how smart was that? I won't spoil anything, but it's definitely worth the hype.
Highly recommended.

Love will always find a way
Truly impressed with Love Upon A Time from beginning to end. each episode just got better and better.From episode 1 it was so engaging and attention grabbing it left me wanting more.
Great job balancing the romance along with the investigative part in the story, I feel like nothing was left unanswered and any changes from the novel to the adaptation were practical ones that fit a physical version of the story even more.
The visuals and quality of each episode were beautiful, the hardwork from the staff behing LUAT was so clear. I know they all faced hardships during this project from prolonged delays to sets being flooded and so on but I will forever be grateful that not one person ever gave up on LUAT.
Net did a fantastic job as Phop, I've seen all the preparation from him in things like practicing his speech, sword and combat training, etc. every emotional scene from him made me feel everything he was feeling especially the sad scenes.
JJ was so good leading the series as well as he did. I know it must've been hard at times but I hope he can be proud of himself. it might seem like things aren't completely good but this is just the beginning for you and netjj.
Latte, i'm so happy after all these years he was finally able to be part of a series. I will admit he impressed me a lot more than I was expecting. He is typically quiet and private but for this role of playing two personalities he did a great job having a clear divide of each.
Kim, the perfect Kaew he is so lovely and truly embodied the character he was playing. it was my first time seeing him act and I think he did well.

If anyone is wondering if they should give LUAT a chance. my answer would be yes. maybe you are someone who thinks time period series aren't for you and that's okay but I will say this one is quite different from other time period dramas. it's the perfect rom-com mix with not too much comedy to take away from the serious moments.

A MUST WATCH DRAMA!!
I have never wrote reviews before but this drama is so good and excellent with a strong storyline, great acting and beautiful cinematography. The romance is developed beautifully, combining emotional depth, longing and genuine chemistry between the characters. Every stage of their relationship feels natural and meaningful, making their journey incredibly engaging. It’s well-paced, heartfelt and truly unforgettable from start to finish! I really enjoyed this 🥰 Another great hit from DMD. I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it cause I'm iffy with time travel series but I kept going cause I love NetJJ. I'm glad I kept watching.I laughed alot. Especially at the servants. They were hilarious and loved the bickering between Klao's and Phop's servant. 😂
I loved how there was a full episode of them in the future, meeting and all instead of the last 30 minutes lol.
Time travel ALWAYS confuses me and was confused the whole time 😭 But when Phop started explaining at the end, it made a little more sense. I'm like ohhh and its all because of him, not the fortune teller.
Its sad that Phop found the real Klao's body in the water and thought it was Nakun. Ended up putting 2 and 2 together in the future, wasn't Nakun that dissappeared that night BUT it was still Klao from your time.
I'm assuming Phop basically died from a broken heart, wasn't eating and drinking?? Ngl I thought he was gonna commit suicide if he wasnt able to find Nakun. Going by the other couple (TutorYim) who died together. Phop looked so heartbroken and had no life in him anymore. 😭😭😭
Its great how they made Nakun's mom the reincarnation of Klao's dad. I never would've guessed that until Nakun seen his face on her.
We all been patiently waiting for 3 years for this to finally air! 🤣🤣 Its a definite rewatch. ❤️❤️

so much heartwarming time travel love story ?
i just finished to watch LUAT and i'm so happy and sad at the same time. i did all the route with the characters, i felt all their feeling and emotions. i liked a lot the story and above all the last episode warmt my heart so much. I'm so glad to have watched this show, the actors and all was just perfect. I felt like I was immersing myself in the past just as Nakun went back in time. I can't yet perfectly express what I felt watching this series, but a mixture of emotions seeing both the love story of Klao and Phop, and the one between P Jom and Kaew. I really liked how the two stories unfolded, despite the various vicissitudes and difficulties, love won over everything, even over time. Story wasn't bad but acting took me out of it
Production quality was good and story wasn't bad. However, the acting of JJ was falling short and took me out of the story multiple times. Especially in comparison with his co-star. JJ's emotions felt forced and unbelievable and his expressions awkward. It doesn't matter to me if the acting would fall short for the side actors, but since it's the main character, I was quite disappointed. I really wanted to enjoy this drama.If you want a historical thai story and you're not picky on the acting, you may enjoy this story.
Overall, I wouldn't watch it again or recommend it to others, but at least I gave it a shot.

DOMUNDI REALESED ANOTHER MASTERPIECE
LUAT was just a masterpiece. Everything about it was perfect. The acting was shoking i didn't know lattekim and netjj were such an amazing actors they really did an amazing job. I would recommend this to everyone. I will definitely rewatch it again. It has become my fav series.if you like historical, emotional, forbidden love and fantasy this series is for you. EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH THIS SERIES. The director did a great job on this series. But ofc we knew that domundi would never disappoint. GO WATCH IT
