Loved it!
I had mixed emotions watching this drama. Loved the main couple and the support couple. But like the racers were perfection. Pit babe was honestly the best racer. Hr had gone through so much. Even went through his boyfriend fakes death, his own best friend of 10 years sexually harrased him and got betrayrd by him...etc. Charlie was also on a tough road, faking his death to protect his boyfriend and friends, got betrayed...etc. (don't wanna spoil too much). Alan and Jeff we're also a good couple. Jeff can see the future which is really cool! Jeff had also been kidnapped by Tony, their enemy but luckily, Alan saved him. I kinda hoped for North and Sonic to get together aswell but they didn't. Overall, i loved it and i recommend it, especially for the people that love wathcing omegaverse dramas. Was this review helpful to you?
wasted potential
this drama started off pretty strong with only a few minor flaws every now and then, so i thought it was still salvageable as long as the ending was decent- which it, unfortunately, wasn't at all.at some point around episode 10, the (metaphorical) train completely derailed and every single episode after that, including the finale, was only 10% entertaining while the other 90% was downright frustrating.
the only commendable thing about this series was the actors. while some were subpar, the ones that were good were *very* good. pavel, nut, and benz in particular were constantly stopping me from dropping this series.
however, almost everything else was aggravatingly bad. the camera work made me nauseous at least once per episode, certain actors consistently delivered their (already lacking) lines poorly throughout the entire series, and the plot was written as if it was just a bunch of random bullet points of things they wanted to happen and then they just made up on the spot how they'd connect them all.
all of that being said, i do still think it wasn't terrible. if they'd simply put a bit more effort into, what was meant to be, such a serious drama, i think most of my qualms would've faded to the background. i can put up with a plot that goes a bit off track sometimes and a couple bad actors- but when i can predict every cliche and just *know* that an emotional moment is going to be ruined by poor acting almost *every time* it's just too much.

Did I enjoy it? Maybe. Am I invested in it? Yes
This is the exact type of storylines I avoid but I couldn't stop myself from watching this drama. The reason why I started watching it is because I love racing circuits but something about it made me so much invested in it. SO many things were happening all at once with racing, human trafficking, sub gender omegaverse, special power, love story , betrayal etc. etc but it definitely made me invested enough not to drop the series midway. The plot might have few holes however the suspense was there. I didn't know exactly whom to trust. Othe rthan Tony there were not set villain. Everyone were just pawns of Tony. At one point I felt liek Charlie and Jeff are working for TOny and then few more clues we got debunking it. The plot twists were great and made my jaw drop.
In terms of acting everyone did amazing. Pavel aced his emotional scenes to the point he made me cry. SPecal mention to Nut Supunut for playing a character completely opposite of him and making it so believable I thought that is real life personality as well. Also I usually don't like when there are too many couples but this one I loved all the side couples (and potential side couples... S2 I am looking at you.)
The direction and the cinematography was nice. The romance felt a little loose and should have been highlighted more. We didn't get to see them develop feelings for each other as much however the post relationship scenes were well done. The racing and everything else were filmed efficiently which created a thrill.
Again I am not sure why even I watched this when Omegaverse is not my thing but this is a show you can 100% gossip about.
Anyways I LOVE YOU NUT

Also, the whole omegaverse aspect could have been entirely omitted and it would have had no bearing on the plot.
However, despite these criticisms, the show still managed to entertain me throughout.
The scenes between Pavel and Pooh were electric and their romance was worth following to the end.
Pavel was definitely the better actor of the two, but he nailed his role and some of his scenes were so moving I almost cried.
Overall I don't regret the time I spent watching the show.

I can't ever trust reviews, this wasn't good
yea, this series wasn't good, but I'm still gonna watch season 2 some day since I'm a completionistanyways, I really only like two characters, which are Kim and Sonic, and that's mostly because the plot didn't care about them enough to be handed the bad script the main group got
I also liked Pavel's acting, I like the raw emotions he portrayed for his character Babe, but I feel like him doing so made the already bad story and scene worse (don't know if that makes sense)
if you're hoping to get the omegaverse you know from like novels and comics, it's not here, actually, whatever semblance of it they wanted to have in the show hardly ever mattered since it wasn't utilized properly
also, strangely enough, I feel like the racing wasn't important either, but to be fair I got frustrated after some episodes and took breaks in between so maybe I just can't remember the racing (or there wasn't enough to remember
in conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this, the pacing is all over the place, the story is frustrating, and Charlie clearly had teleportation powers but nobody batted an eye to it!

A Beautiful Blend of Love, Loss, and Superpowers
I loved all the storylines in the series. Thanks to this drama, I discovered new actors that I adore, but above all, I really like the chemistry between Pooh and Pavel.
It's a drama about love, hardship, loss and “superpowers”.
SPOILER ALERT
My favourite scene was Pavel's performance when Pooh died in his hospital bed and all the scenes that followed until we find out that Pooh is actually alive. He really brought the scene to life for us viewers in a phenomenal way.

So-so Drama
Pavel's acting was great but I do not like the acting of his partner. It has a good story too, but maybe I am not that interested with the plot that's why it made me bore after watching the first episodes of the series.Still, better than other Thai dramas that I have watched since it has a unique story line.

With potential but lacking
I really wanted to love this BL I really wanted to but it just dissatisfied me. They wrapped it to fast i mean it was so easy apparently to solve their problems by killing Tony but they just had to drag it for 13 ep and leave much more important things out like that magical cure. What about Pete and Kenta and Kim and Winner? And tha moat important WAY. I just felt that their relationships were brushed aside. On top of that they just killed Way in the most stupid manner. I know he was an idiot for a long time but he did love Babe and i think that after loving someone for 10 year on his own it might take a tool on his mental health. But he did not deserve to die.
Overall I was kinda disappointed. I am happy Babe and Charlie were together in the end but with so many characters with potential i feel something it's missing

The ending ruined it!
OK.........first off good for them to try and bring the whole Omegaverse to the TV screen, however there were a few areas of it that they didn't really go that far into, and thats why some people (i know personally) seemed to be so confused as to why Babe became so obsessed with Charlie so quickly. The show did mention that Babe doesn't like Alpha scents and Charlie doesn't have one, but other than that it kinda skipped over it and lots of people didn't see that as a reason for their relationship. The whole Way being an Enigma thing was the same. Some people didn't understand it, and it was only partially explained in the show.Personally I loved it, I loved the way they didn't follow the stereotypes of 'tops' and 'bottoms' in gay relationships.........with Babe being perfectly comfortable being the 'bottom' in their relationship, and not one even raising an eyebrow at it. That was great. Pavel and Pooh had great onscreen chemistry, and really worked together well. It's the first time I had seen either of them on screen and i'm glad I did.
Babe was really well written and Pavel knocked it out the park. Charlie was a little less understandable, but that was his character, still Pooh did well with it. Even Nut in playing Way.......you know an actor is doing brilliantly when you want to reach into the screen and strangle their character!
This show was seriously going to be one of the best shows i'd seen in a while with its new Omegverse plot, cinematography, actors and interesting plot..........until about episode 9...........then it fell off a cliff!
I have no idea what happened after that but YIKES!
There was no reason to 'kill' Charlie except for to devastate Babe and separate our two leads for a while...........and it was WAY too long! But even then, while Charlie was 'dead' how they handled it was seriously messy. After Babe had had a breakdown weeping for the loss of his partner, Charlie was never mentioned again by anyone, except once when Charlie himself asked Jeff how Babe was dealing with his death.......it was almost like the show was going 'ok he died, and now we move on'. It didn't work right.
Then you had the Kenta/Kim/Pete/Way mess. They were setting up Way and Pete only to then set up Pete with Kenta, who they had kinda set up with Kim......they couldn't decide what they were doing. And I'm sorry but turning Kim into basically the third stooge with North and Sonic was just a waste of that character after its great introduction.
Babe's father and his magic 'antidote'.........they spent so much time on that.........but in the end nothing happened. That was pointless and just wasted time.
Charlie's 'plan' to save Babe by dying.......again nothing came of it, and it just wated time the writers could have used better by forwarding the plot, character relationships and development.
The end episodes where a mess and really let the show down!
Still I liked the show and would watch it again, simply for the chemistry of the cast and because those first episodes were well written.

Why
What the actual f**k did I just watch? It was amazing and the casting was as expected which is good but they just cut things off to quickly. The whole plot of the drama was fuzzy but the main couple was carrying with their chemistry and their kiss scenes . Now that the side couple barely brings anything to the table because their relationship was never explained or got looked in to so now the drama is now a redemption arc and dry . The start was good because it was slow and steady so it had time to expand on the characters but at the end it was to quick because of the episode limit and the rush to get information out that couldve been explained if the drama was longer or they focused on the information at the beginning because they had the time . Not mad just disappointed. Was this review helpful to you?
Ok but why was it good though
I went into this show expecting a cringey BL that requires zero braincells to watch, and don't get me wrong it totally is that, but it's also so much more? The characters and story actually have dimension to the point that I really felt for them by the end. There are emotional scenes that deliver well and even some pretty good twists. The main couple are very easy to root for and have a surprisingly wholesome relationship. What I also loved is that they portray the platonic relationships just as well as the romantic ones, something which is often missing in BLs. The plot, while not perfect, is generally very good and ties the whole show together. There were no real loose ends or major plot holes and there were also no unnecessary characters, everyone had a reason for being there. The ending was satisfying as well.I watched this show at the same time as KinnPorsche, expecting that to be my investment show and this to be my light-hearted joke watch and in the end I was invested in this show and hated KinnPorsche (I have a review there too). Just goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover.
The cons:
- The tonal shifts between the dark and light-hearted scenes were a bit sudden and the music was similarly distracting at times.
- The special effects are not the best but not so bad that they take away from the show.
- The secondary couple was very uninteresting and unnecessary and I skipped most of their scenes.
- Why were there zero female characters? I get it's a BL but come on, not even one?
Overall, if you want a show that you can laugh at, cringe at but also get unexpectedly invested in, I highly recommend watching PitBabe. It was a lot of fun.

Great Concept, Poor Execution (for the most part)
Keep in mind that I never read the original story, nor am I familiar with most of the actors.PitBabe is a fantastic example of a BL that has great ideas, but the writing suffers terribly. It's a great example of how the actors can only hardcarry a story so far before it turns against them in different ways. The best thing about the show is the acting. However, it's so good that it ends up accidentally highlighting the major flaws in every other aspect of the show.
-- ACTING:
Like I stated previously, it's really good overall. Though there are a couple of actors that are pretty mid acting-wise. Now, I'm no stranger to average acting; I have seen my fair share of amateur BL work over the years. I'm usually not one to harp on bad/mid acting because I appreciate the effort nonetheless. However, I feel like it's important to point out here because at times, the difference quality is a little TOO blatant and it ruins some scenes.
My biggest issue falls on Babe and Charlie. Babe's actor is arguably THE best one out of all of them. He truly shows his range in this story, and if anything, I 'd say watch PB just for that alone. I've never seen him in anything else, but I was blown away almost instantly. But Charlie....oh, Charlie.
Pooh isn't terrible. I've honestly seen worse. But his acting at times is quite stiff and repetitive. There's only so many times I can hear him call out Babe's name when they're in yet another argument before I start hitting the mute button. In my opinion, he has issues with his range of emotion and variations. Sure, he can yell Babe's name for the umpteenth time, but maybe do so differently?
As much as this bugged me, I can't blame him too much. I also blame the screenwriting and overall directing job as well. But going back to Pooh, Pavel's acting is so amazing that most of the time when Pooh follows up on Pavel's lines, it almost ruins the emotional tension a bit. The main thing that kept me from completely hating the main ship was the Bossy Bottom x Fluffy Top dynamic. I am a sucker for that trope, and there were times when they pulled it off well.
Another actor that I thought was a little lackluster was Pon (Jeff). Now, I'm quite familiar with Pon. He was in Star Hunter Entertainment with a few other actors that I really love. He's improved, but he's still a little stiff. But at times, the stiffness worked well with his character who is already fairly awkward and introverted. I really liked him and Sailub (Alan) together, especially after what Pon had to deal with in his old company. I'd love to see them in another show together.
As for everyone else: EXCELLENT. Not much more I can say than that. I guess other than that their acting was soooo good that it made the writing look even worse than it already is. There were times that I found myself trying not to cringe at what they had to say or how they were made to say it. But with that being said...
-- WRITING/DIRECTING
Awful. Terrible.
I saw someone say that it was obvious that the crew spent most of their money on renting racecars, hiring drivers, and special effects and had barely any leftover for the writing- and I have to agree 100%. Where do I even begin...
The whole Alpha/Enigma thing was weird, unnecessary even. Now I have heard that they supposedly toned down some of the omegaverse details for the show. If that's true, I wish they'd have scrapped it altogether. There's a good 5 or 6 episodes where the theme has barely anything to do with what's going on, to the point where I thought they forgot about it. The whole thing is never really explained well either, other than that there are Enigmas who I guess can get pregnant? And that the secondary genders do go hand and hand with these Senses powers they have, but once again, the genders could've been dropped and there wouldn't have been that much of a difference.
Now the whole Senses thing. I don't mind the idea at all. I actually think it's pretty neat. But similar to the Alpha thing, there's a while where it doesn't seem relevant at all until it suddenly is because, well....it has to be.
And that's basically the biggest issue I have with the writing. A lot of things happen simply just because. Simply to move the plot along on its crooked, confusing path.
For example, Charlie and Babe's arguments. One of my least favorite parts of the story. They'd be happy together, singing each other praises.....until Babe doesn't trust Charlie yet again for some reason. At first, it made sense because of how Charlie was hiding things, so that's perfectly fair. However, even when they'd make up and seem to have an understanding, Babe would be very quick to distrust him AGAIN. It became very boring, very predictable, and very annoying.
As a matter of fact, how they got together was weird to me as well. Charlie is a pretty unremarkable guy. So what was it about him that kept Babe hooked? They very briefly mention how Babe doesn't like the smell of Alphas (then why is he choosing to have sex with them...?), but is pleasantly surprised by Charlie's scent. And I guess that's what makes him want to be around him...? Despite the fact that Babe, due to his past traumas, is distrusting overall and very protective of himself.
We could say that this is simply Main Character Romance Plot Armor, where the how doesn't really have to make sense. But considering how in depth they get with Babe's character, it almost doesn't make sense. And I guess it doesn't have to make sense. It just has to be to keep things pushing. Which normally works fine for me, but with this show, it bugs me. I wish there was more development.
Another bit that really irked me was when they randomly revealed Charlie's Sense ability. I knew instantly that this was a poorly done set up for what eventually wound up being an overly dramatic death scene that didn't deserve all the tension it had. At this point, the drama overall was multiple exponentially and seemingly out of no where. A little too much at times. But oh wait! Lets make it even more dramatic by dropping obvious hints that Charlie has to die! For...some reason...! Yeah!
I really liked the idea of Babe losing his Sense and being able to move on with his life without it. But I haaaated that it was because of Charlie's mysterious super powers that he had this whole time and conveniently pops up. The plan for him to fake his death and "die" temporarily so that Babe can get his power back was so transparent that I started to zone out at certain bits.
With Way's character, I really enjoyed the concept! The jealousy he has for not really being Babe's number 1 was so good. Him going so far as to working temporarily with Tony was great. But when they had him come back and attempt to basically rape Babe??
No. Hell no.
I feel like his revenge plot could've stopped previous to this. But that scene made me hate his character. And at the end when he died and we were supposed to feel bad for him?? No??
I did laugh when I saw that they made his funeral a little more extravagant than Charlie's. Actually, I was laughing quite a bit in the last 2-3 episodes. Just bad decisions after bad decisions.
Very unfortunate because these actors deserve a story that's cared for, not one that's obviously a quick cash grab.
I'd be interested in watching them in other projects.
