we could’ve had it all

honestly, i really enjoyed desire but my rating is simply because of the ending. the production team had every chance to give us a better ending for gao tu and wen lang and they ruined it. i’ve seen some people mention the manga to lessen the blow but unfortunately i could care less. the pacing was always off but choosing to wrap up
this whole drama in under an hour and give us no real “happy” ending was a choice. at the bare minimum we deserve a special episode but i know we won’t get it.

anyway, the best part of the last ep was just hua yong as always..

oh and i’m not saying don’t watch this drama but just be prepared for a horrible and rushed ending!

what was that?

i’m genuinely confused by the high ratings on this drama. for once i don’t feel like i watched the same drama everyone else did. i understood the concept of the drama and what story they were trying to portray, but honestly it just wasn’t good to me. the acting is all that saved this drama for me, but i definitely couldn’t rate higher than a 5 in my right mind. even 7 eps felt like too much.. the format of one character’s backstory per episode also really dragged it for me. and don’t get my started on the r*pe we just ignored.

mc’s should’ve been swapped

i could rant about all the things i disliked about this drama but the only things i actually want to touch on are the characters and the stories. everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but i genuinely think diesel and pure or even tokyo’s stories should’ve been the real main focuses and not bambi. while i enjoyed bambi’s storyline i think diesel and his family were so complex and interesting that they deserved more screen time. especially when it came to diesel’s mother and the role she plays in everything vs the ways she’s portrayed in media. shit even diesel himself was such a great character and got overshadowed because of unnecessary side plots. as far as pure is concerned i think his story really is the reality for a lot of actors in the bl industry and not from a homophobic standpoint but the fact that the industry doesn’t really allow for straight actors to just play a role without making them feed into fan service and portray a certain image that won’t allow them to fully be themselves without them being canceled or harshly criticized. i think if there was more transparency in the industry it would lessen the toxicity in fandom spaces but i digress. i also think tokyo’s story was important and lost along the way bc too much was happening in such a little amount of episodes. lastly, bambi’s storyline wasn’t bad but in my opinion it was the least important/interesting of them all and could’ve been the background story they used for filler instead of pure and tokyo.

overall i enjoyed the drama and think the actors did an amazing job portraying their characters, but in the end i was left wanting so much more because 8 episodes wasn’t enough and the pacing didn’t help.

(last little side note) i really just want to praise phuwin. his acting was superb and i really hope to see more roles like this from him in the future because he has so much to offer and his portrayal of diesel genuinely moved me. however i do agree with the people who said the sex scenes were awkward/poorly done. i think nc scenes really take a lot of intimacy training and thought that these scenes seemed to lack and i’m not sure if it was due to the directing or because all of phuwin’s other nc scenes have been close door but there’s definitely some work to be done there.

Less is More

I originally started this drama when it came out and I was super underwhelmed so I put it on hold.. After coming back to it years later I’m still fairly underwhelmed by certain aspects but I really enjoyed Team and Win enough to finish.

I could honestly rant about all the things I disliked but instead I’ll just say this that this drama would’ve been better if there were less side stories. I personally feel like Team and Win’s story had so much potential and it started off strong but the drama would’ve benefited more if it was shorter and the main/only focus was them. (The only semi interesting side couple was Wan and Tul and they barely got screen time.) I also didn’t enjoy how drawn out/forgotten the whole drowning arc was considering how important it was to Team’s character.

Ultimately this drama had a lot of weak points but the comedic moments and the chemistry between Team and Win helped. I also have a new love for Boun and Prem so it’s a win in my book!

My first omegaverse

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. I’ve never be one to judge those who enjoy the omegaverse but until now I’ve never had any interest in it myself even though I’m a pretty big BL enjoyer. However, this drama changed my opinion and I fear I may like the omegaverse quite a bit now. As for the drama itself I fought myself on my rating because while I enjoyed it, the storyline was just messy and some characters genuinely annoyed me. That being said I LOVE Babe so much that I stayed hooked from beginning to end. I’m absolutely obsessed with Pavel and will be keeping up with everything he does now! I also really loved Charlie and all the side characters (especially Kim) and I think them being so likable added to my enjoyment. Now onto PB2!

A bad car crash?

I would like to start this by saying I really need to stop letting tiktok influence my drama decisions. Had I not seen a clip of Xicheng eating food out of Yanxi’s mouth I wouldn’t have started this drama.

Time To Fall In Love is like a bad car crash, you know it’s bad but for some reason you can’t look away? I originally was going to drop it 3 episodes in because there were too many slow-mo scenes to count, but the ML made it easy to keep watching. (Lou Zheng carried this drama on his back. )

I don’t want to make a long drawn out review, but this drama had so much potential and was ruined by lackluster writing. I kept waiting for it to get better, but in the end it just disappointed me. Not one trope was done justice. Don’t even get me started on how horrible the Fu Boya and Nangong storyline was, or how a certain someone’s death was blatantly ignored.

Overall I gave this drama a 6 star rating because Lou Zheng’s acting and appearance made it a lot easier to continue. I definitely don’t recommend this drama, not even to pass the time.
