mc’s should’ve been swapped

i could rant about all the things i disliked about this drama but the only things i actually want to touch on are the characters and the stories. everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but i genuinely think diesel and pure or even tokyo’s stories should’ve been the real main focuses and not bambi. while i enjoyed bambi’s storyline i think diesel and his family were so complex and interesting that they deserved more screen time. especially when it came to diesel’s mother and the role she plays in everything vs the ways she’s portrayed in media. shit even diesel himself was such a great character and got overshadowed because of unnecessary side plots. as far as pure is concerned i think his story really is the reality for a lot of actors in the bl industry and not from a homophobic standpoint but the fact that the industry doesn’t really allow for straight actors to just play a role without making them feed into fan service and portray a certain image that won’t allow them to fully be themselves without them being canceled or harshly criticized. i think if there was more transparency in the industry it would lessen the toxicity in fandom spaces but i digress. i also think tokyo’s story was important and lost along the way bc too much was happening in such a little amount of episodes. lastly, bambi’s storyline wasn’t bad but in my opinion it was the least important/interesting of them all and could’ve been the background story they used for filler instead of pure and tokyo.

overall i enjoyed the drama and think the actors did an amazing job portraying their characters, but in the end i was left wanting so much more because 8 episodes wasn’t enough and the pacing didn’t help.

(last little side note) i really just want to praise phuwin. his acting was superb and i really hope to see more roles like this from him in the future because he has so much to offer and his portrayal of diesel genuinely moved me. however i do agree with the people who said the sex scenes were awkward/poorly done. i think nc scenes really take a lot of intimacy training and thought that these scenes seemed to lack and i’m not sure if it was due to the directing or because all of phuwin’s other nc scenes have been close door but there’s definitely some work to be done there.
