I love the kiss in Episode 2
I only registered an account on this website of mydramalist after seeing the series of Fighting No. 2nd. That means how much I love this series. I’ve seen a lot of boy’s love series before. But only this series made me register an account on this website.I’ve seen Episode 2 hundreds of times. The kiss of Sam Lin for Yu is very natural. Sam Lin must drink a bit before for the scene. The way he threw the bag was completely decisive. I love the scenes of in that most. The actions and also the music made the scene wonderful.

The raw emotion made it so worth it
Overall if I were to compare it to the first season it's not as good. The main reason for that is the miscommunication trope. It was soo convoluted and unnecessarily antagonistic. I understand the purpose of it, but the way we got from "you did this" to "oh, so that was the reason?" (or multiple reasons in this case) seemed a bit too much for me.Apart from that, once again the main actors did a splendid job portraying their characters. I really don't mind the miscommunication trope that much, cause the raw emotion the characters experienced because of it was worth it. Zhou Shu Yi's feelings were right there on display throughout the whole show and I loved it. That in contrast to Gao Shi De's surface level composure just hits you right in the feels.

Glad I watched the 2nd season
I had my doubts but in the end I'm glad I pushed through watching the 2nd season. It's honestly a pretty great sequel, considering.Where S1 is fun and sweet, S2 is passionate and intense. The plot is a mess, and the doctor side couple was skippable and I didn't really pay much attention, but I'm rating this higher because the leads' chemistry was somehow even better this season!
I realized after watching the sequel that I wouldn't have felt satisfied with S1 afterall even if it ended at a happy note (as in, that whackass open ending from S1 didn't exist). They got together pretty quickly after Shu Yi found out about the secret crush, and Gao Shi Deng had been so used to his one-sided feelings over Shu Yi for such a long time, it was inevitable he'll have doubts because pining for so long like that, fear and doubts almost become normal to you. I think about this a lot because one-sided pining is literally my topmost favorite trope EVER. So the falling off and then fighting hard for a 2nd chance was ultimately more satisfying than I expected it to be.

Not the best.
The rating might look harsh, because I really did enjoy watching the second season, but honestly I just can’t rate it higher. As always, Shou Yi and Shi De were everything. Their chemistry is still my absolute favorite part of this whole series. And Sam Lin… someone explain to me, am I crazy or was he actually even more handsome this season? Like every time he was on screen, I was dying o///o. His acting also went to another level, especially that drunk scene. Normally when characters cry I get so uncomfortable, I just pick at my nails and wait for it to end, but this time I couldn’t look away. My chest felt heavy, and I really thought I might cry with him. These emotional and intimate scenes were the best part for me, I keep replaying them in my head..
But even they can’t save the entire season. The plot was just so weak. I hate miscommunication in romance shows. In real life you can solve it just by talking, so why are they acting like they enjoy torturing themselves? Are they masochists? Please, just talk to each other. And that random woman… what was that? I thought it would become an important plot point but then it was never explained. Honestly, it just left me confused. And don’t even ask me about the job stuff. I didn’t care, and I didn’t understand anything happening there.
The side couples… sorry but I didn’t care at all. I’m not a fan of multiple couples in one BL. I like when all the focus is on the main couple. Their scenes were so boring to me, I was close to skipping them just to get back to Shou Yi and Shi De. I don’t even remember their storylines. That’s how forgettable it was.
Even though this season disappointed me, it doesn’t ruin how much I love We Best Love overall. It’s still one of my favorite BLs, and I will definitely watch any BL if Yu or Sam are in it. They already have my full heart <3!!

Better than I Expected.
Honestly, when I read the reviews for this drama here, I saw a lot of negative reviews. So I was a bit hesitant to watch this, and my expectations were low. I absolutely loved the first season, so I had to watch this.Idk. Maybe because my expectations were low, I found this drama pretty good and up to my liking.
The Story? Definitely cliche and the same overused plot of miscommunication. But was it bad? Not really. Their chemistry was too good, and they pulled off this story and the characters perfectly well. Kudos to the actors.
I didn't like the side story all too much, because it seemed like a forced fit for me. And the relationship between Pei Shou Yi and Yu Zhen Xuan was really confusing and questionable. Especially since Pei Shou Yi claimed he didn't like Yu Zhen and would never reciprocate his feelings, but all of a sudden everything changed and they were together.
But anyway, the relationship between the main characters was perfect. I loved it. They had insane chemistry. Sam and Yu did a really good job.
For a drama with a low budget and only 6 episodes, they delivered everything they could.
For me this drama was a good watch! I liked it.

Great but still lacking
First off, rated high bc of incredible acting from both of them. Production value is great too, I felt no awkwardness from crying scenes or most scenes that would make me skip if I was watching another BL drama. The story though, not the best. Overused trope that I really hoped would be different this time around. 5 years relationship gap and for such a stupid reason?! no no. At least a 1-2 year gap would make sense. And the side stories were honestly not great. School doctor and high school student? I really wish the conclusion is that they both move on bc it makes 0 sense for them to be together. Anyway the 2 main leads acted incredibly well. Wish this had a great story as well. I'll still rate it high cause it was worth watching the 2 of them. Was this review helpful to you?
Sad, but should definitely watch
I watched this season after the first one, cause I thought it was cute. Nope, I literally cried every episode. It is more mature and darker than the first season, and we definitely got to see more of how their relationship developed after leaving school. There were quite a few moments that were quite heartbreaking which was very different from the first version, but I felt that it was very in tune with the fact they were adults and no longer as young and naive as they used to be.The acting, like the first season, was good and all the actors managed to convinced me of the emotions and convictions in each scene. Of course it wasn't totally perfect, hence my rating. I really like the music in general, maybe personal preference, but I also liked the way it fit into certain scenes. I would love to rewatch it, but because it's kinda sad I will have to collect myself before watching it again.
But yes, you should definitely watch it. It's sweet, sad, kind of funny at times and quite well done overall.

Shi de is stupid---stupidly in love
*happy ending for both couples*Again, Yu's acting here is superb. It is the very reason I will rewatch this series. The anger, his love and his longing are deeply felt in his acting. However, the misunderstandings that led to the conflict are very...uhm stupid. Especially Shi de. I cant understand how he could do such a thing to Shu yi for 5 frickin years and act as if he cant tell the reason, only to break his promise. What were all those years are for?
Also, one of the reasons I rated this lower than season 1 is because of the second couple. I really dont understand it. The series made it seem like people with affective disorders are heartless, but it isnt so. They could also switch to happiness too. And not just mirror someone's feelings. The second couple's conclusion are also quite confusing.
I would rewatch this only for the first couple and Shu yi's dad which is really hilarious hahahah. Love him.

worth the watch and rewatch
Like many other folk on this page I liked this series alot. I know some found the story weak, but I think it works, especially as a sequal which rarely do. Could it have been deeper? Yes, but that would have entailed a much longer series and I think have ruined the tone of it as a whole. Plus sequels to Taiwanese BL's are not the norm so thankful it happened at all.Cast is talented, attractive, and there is certainly chemistry there.
A shout out to Shih Chih Tian for his mesmerizing performance as Yu Zhen. Portraying a man on the spectrum without judgement, sentimentality or bathos is not easy. His work is lovely and for me, the center of the film. Wish he worked in BL world more often.
This is my second time watching and I enjoyed it more than the first time. Hope you do too.

I liked this even though I wasnt expecting to
I was so annoyed with the special episode after the first season. Like super annoyed! I thought about just bouncing after that. I'm glad I didn't. This made me enjoy the overall series (both seasons) much more. If you're gonna watch season 1 you must watch season 2. Lesson learned. The S2 story was interesting albeit a little strained in parts. The lack of communication trope in BL is one of the most frustrating ones for me. It gets resolved as it always does but ugh.
I love the chemistry between the mains, even when they're fighting. Also there is a second and third couple here. One doesnt get enough screen time. The other gets more context but doesnt take us on the full emotional journey of how they end up together.
It's not a perfect story, but its a good one.

Fighting The Urge To Rewatch The First Season (Again)
I'm not sure why I never wrote a review for this? Probably because I was upset initially that our main boys were split up for like 5 years from the first season to this season! I understand why (stupid father) but it felt unnecessary. Although without it I'm not exactly sure where this season would've went. It's no secret that We Best Love is one of my top BL series. Its got amazing acting, storyline, chemistry, music, etc. So this second season was probably never going to live up to that. However, it was still pretty darn good. So watch it! Just be prepared to be frustrated for a bit before things go back to where they need to be.Was this review helpful to you?
Best BL and most underrated
Honestly, I only created an account just for this drama. The production quality, the acting chops, the directorial savviness, it's all just *chef's kiss.* I would go as far as to say that not only is this an underrated BL, it's arguably underrated in the whole romance genre.I look forward to seeing what the actors are going to bring us next in their careers. When I spoke about how good their acting was, I always feel like I'm underselling them because the amount of chemistry and raw passion found between the two male leads is something that I've never come across before in Taiwanese dramas. It really seemed as if their acting belonged on the big screens in Hollywood. They already look amazing in suits.
