UNDERRATED !!! DESERVES BETTER 10/10⭐️

I don’t understand how this drama has so many bad reviews and low ratings… I fell in love with this drama from just seeing the intro in first episode, that’s where I already knew it’s going to be so good and after that as I just kept seeing episode by episode I kept falling for it even more.

I being 100% honest I just can’t think of anything that I didn’t like about it… It’s just that good and seeing so many people not liking it, saying it has no plot etc which is absolutely not true is kinda disappointing so I just wanted to leave at least 1 positive review amongst the many negative ones.

Anyways this drama is labeled as “Limited Series” which basically means it was intended to be only 1 season so there isn’t really much hope for another one but it’s still possible.

im really impressed with this drama. usually a history start be boring around 9-10 ep, but even though this drama have only 7 episode, i lost my complete interest at episode 5. i really, really thought the ML interest on FL was because he wants to know whats happened with his brother, so the moment he talks abount his feelings, abount how much he loves the FL, for me this was be a complete bullshit, and a drama who supposedly shoud be for revenge, becomes a shit romance.

look, even the first 4 episodes(what a i liked), don't were be good, but only interest, something decent to pass time.

i dont recommend this drama for anyone, go watch another thing.

An Utter Disappointment...

When I first saw the trailer for this drama, I honestly had a lot of expectations. Because from the trailer, I can already imagine how much budget was spent on this drama in order to get cinematography like that. But what I got instead was a deep disappointment. This drama was not executed well at all.

There are several things that need to be applauded here. The first is cinematography and the choice of color filters for each scenes. Appropriate colors are chosen to describe the situation or feelings of the actors. Directing and camera movement are also done very well. The background music for each scene is also well chosen.

Unfortunately, there are more things that deserve criticism from this drama.

Starting from the plot, the story concept is not that bad even though it is quite cliche. The first four episodes are quite good at depicting the hierarchy (well the title is hierarchy indeed) that exists at Jooshin High School, how the male lead adapts and starts to build chemistry with the female lead, plus a little plot twist at the end of the story about the male lead's real identity. But after the fifth episode, everything seemed to crumble down. The male lead who doesn't know whether he should take revenge or prioritize his unrequited love. Plus the female lead who doesn't actually have an important role enough to be called as the main character. Even the supporting actors at least have roles and storylines that are perhaps better than the main characters. The next storyline gets even more chaotic and suddenly the end of the drama arrived, making the viewers dumbfounded. No revenge. No worthy romance. No deep friendship. It's just nothing in the end.

+ The acting of the characters.
The male lead is quite good as a rookie but that's it. He's delivering a quite good acting in some scenes. Nothing more.
The female lead was a robot throughout the 7 episodes, to the point that I couldn't even sympathize with her so called suffering.
The second male lead was just plain. He supposed to be the richest and arrogant richest kid but instead he feels like he is poorer than the poor male lead. Every gestures and expressions of his are far from the one he shoul've had as the only heir of the biggest company in SK.
The supporting lead is just meh. But the one who acted as Hera is quite okay. I could see her potential as a rookie. Some of her scenes are well delivered tho.

In conclusion, if you asked me:

1. Is this a youth drama? No. The content is too explicit to be called a youth drama. Tbh, what kind of youth drama would have a s*x (even though no one were nude), drugs, and alcohol party for a highschooler.

2. Is this an action drama/thriller? No. The most frequent action scene that appears is just a group of kids bullying a transfer student just because they offended the second male lead. It was so lame!

3. Is this a revenge drama? I do not think so. Indeed, the concept of this drama is revenge, but in the end the main character doesn't actually take any revenge.

4. Then is this a romance drama? Not really. Because none of them end up with each other. And it made me wonder if the male lead is really the male lead lol. In the end, it felt like there's only a female lead without any male lead.

So what type of drama is this? To be honest, I'm also confused hahaha
That's why I told you that this drama is an utter disappointment for me.

Complete Time waste With lot of flaw in story :-cc

I strongly advise against watching these shows. The storyline is riddled with flaws from beginning to end, and the acting is subpar. The only positive aspect I can point out is the background music. I fail to see the purpose of creating this show as it fails to evoke any emotions. None of the characters are compelling, and it seems to fall apart after the first episode. I am sharing this to caution others against making the same mistake I did by choosing to watch this show. Thanks

don’t waste your time

what a waste. the storyline went downhill very quickly. then ending was not realistic. so many things went wrong. wasted potential and very disappointing. I wish I had not spent my time binge watching this just to get to the last episode and fast forward hoping for a change in the story line. only positive was the fashion wasn’t
terrible? lots of cute bags and outfits. The crazy dad was the best actor but he’s always good. the rest did okay given their roles didn’t require much talent.

One of the best K-dramas. The actor, acting, story, style, interior and everything else was just perfect. And it was very realistic, without any fantastic and unrealistic actions. It’s omething new for Korean industry. And i don’t understand hateness.
We still need season 2, that will finish characters storylines. Thanks to everyone who worked on this show.

Hierarchy was disappointing as a revenge series but is that what it was intended to be?

If you go into Hierarchy expecting a revenge plotline, then yes, you’ll be greatly disappointed. I was too, because that’s exactly what I thought it would be about. I've read all the bad reviews and I mostly agree. This series was tea served at room temperature but I'm a tea lover so I had to ignore that fact and form my.. rather optimistic opinion.

The story follows Kang Ha, who loses his brother in an accident, only to later find out that his brother was actually bullied in highschool and driven to his death. He enrolls in the same prestigious high school under the scholarship program to find out who killed him. I’d like to point out that Kang Ha wanted to find who his brother’s killer was, not exactly to take revenge. His goal had always been to uncover the truth and make sure no scholarship student would have to go through the same bullying and discrimination as his brother did.

Rich, spoiled brats are often portrayed as irredeemable, but I’d like to disagree here. These kids weren’t just rich spoiled brats, especially Jung Jae-I and Kim Ri-An. Both had redeemable qualities because, despite their wealth, they were bound by their parents’ leash. When this happens, people often turn out more empathetic rather than becoming arrogant scumbags. That’s why it was surprising, but believable, that Jae-I and Ri-An chose to accept punishment and confess which is something you don't immediately see in He-ra and Woo-jin.

The direction this story took feels fresh. It shows that revenge isn’t going to solve everything, no matter how badly you want tit-for-tat. Even though Ri-An apologizes to Kang Ha, Kang Ha refuses to forgive him and that, in itself, is the revenge. An apology will never bring his brother back, so he isn’t obligated to accept it.

Although, Kang Ha having a crush on Jae-I felt superficial and left a bad taste in my mouth. The story could have “achieved” everything it did without forcing that aspect in.

But I absolutely loved Ri-An and Jae-I’s relationship but they literally could've done better.

While most of us wouldn’t call this a happy ending, I’d say it’s a nuanced one. Kang-Ha had a goal, and he achieved it so for him, it is a happy ending.

That said, the acting could've been better. The story dragged, it was cringe at times and I feel like even if what I said above was the true intentions of the makers, they did a horrible job at executing it.

It was a fun watch, not too complicated

I liked this drama better than the hyped dramas that came this year till now. It starts off slow but picks up pace from the 2nd episode. And after that you just can’t stop watching. The plot keeps you going till the end.
Jae-i had good chemistry with both of the guys but I wanted him to end up with Ri-an and I am happy she kind of did picked him in the end. She was herself with him only and he was also sincere with her. So I am glad that they sorted out the mess and ended on good terms.
I am not sure about kang ha,maybe there should’ve been another female lead for him as love interest bcz Jae-i loved Ri-an and they are more suited for each other.
I liked the rivalry and the ups and downs on their friendship. He-ra was amazing. Loved her character. She was more interesting character than Jae-i. 🫢

Overall I wasn’t as interested in the school bullying thing as it got too toxic but that was the main plot of the show. I was more interested in what was going on between Jae-i, Ri-an, Kang ha and He-ra love square. Overall it was a good watch to complete in one day.

Disappointed by the lack of a storyline. It gave nothing for real

The first episode was really good. A man on a mission to revenge his brother, a wealthy frigid female lead, and her equally wealthy ex-boyfriend, who is vicious and hopelessly in love with the female lead. However, all of this turned into a disaster. From vengeance to falling in love with an icy affluent female protagonist who is lonely and afraid (damsel in distress), which resulted in a love triangle that was not necessary, plus the rest was just not right.

Attitude is everything

There are hard hitting subjects sewn into the fabric of this entertaining High School drama, about the kids of the rich and super rich. The drama is Boys Over Flowers meets Weak Hero Class 1. Personally, I loved it. This school is other worldly in design. The Korean Drama has a high class flashy look and an attitude to match. This was a high octane ride.

Off the bat, there is an Assembly to introduce the new scholarship student, the odd man out in the school for the super rich. These students are so rich that they have car Valets. The drama has smoking music, interesting script, and fantastic cinematography. Young talent showed off their acting skills. All the dots of the story were connected in the end, to set-up things for Season 2.

For those who were waiting for the highly anticipated Korean Drama Hierarchy, it just hit NetFlix. There is a death covered in this Korean Drama.

Same old plot, same old love triangle!

I was so excited for this drama thinking that it will give me something new and different but boy was I wrong.

Plot:
I'm so sorry but the idea of someone getting bullied and killed for trying to be friends with the most popular girl in school is so stupid. The fact that the whole plot is literally the most beautiful girl in the school makes silly decisions or mediocre decisions and some how it effects the whole school. I still don't understand how the ML fell for her. Honestly the whole show was trying to make us feel sorry for the rich students but I couldn't care less. Another thing I found annoying was how useless the ML was. He really had no plans on bringing down the school. His whole talk of getting the highest grade was so useless since we didn't see anything on grade ratings or him studying. I kind of wished he was more overpowered- having more tricks and secrets up his sleeves. Without the principals son, the ML wouldn't have found his brothers killer. And the fact that he can't fight was so anticlimactic - literally getting punched by everyone. Lastly, if you HATE love triangles, Dont watch this. Again the guys only love her because she is different and smiles once in a month. I feel like the love wasn't needed at all especially if you know your mission is to find your brothers killer, I Dont think you should be foliacing with girls.

Set and casting
The cinematography was stunning and the settings, houses and the school will call you broke in seven languages. I loved the cast. They can all act and visuals were on point. Too bad I was bored by the 3rd episode.

Music
One of the worst part of the show. It sounded like tesco Billie eilish. I couldn't tell whether was songs were in English or Korean.

Conclusion
Overall it wasn't bad. It was like every other mediocre rich kids drama but with a big budget. So anticlimactic And will leave you dissatisfied. If you want a movie to watch that is way better than this show with more drama and plot, watch student of the year.
