People should read other ABO novels first before judging this! And petition for season 2!

Honestly, at first I was hesitating whether to watch the drama or not. After starting and watching first two or three episodes, I was pissed at Hua Yong. But later when I read the novel and saw his story, I understood his situation. Many people are hating Hua Yong saying he doesn't deserve Sheng.
But you have to realise that if Hua Yong wasn't this persistent, he would have ended up the same way as Gao Tu with a long unrequited love for over 15 years. Approaching him honestly? Do you guys really think Sheng would have accepted him who didn't even believe in the existence of Enigmas?! How could that man take such risk about his only lifeline?! Beside he didn't really hurt him or others anytime without a reason. He never told him that he was an omega. The only time he lied was when he hide from Sheng saying Wenlang took him which was also to protect Sheng during his rut.
Didn't Gao Tu also lie about his identity? He also lied since Wenlang doesn't like omegas. So how are his lies justified but Hua's aren't?! Just because Gao Tu is the bottom and His is the top. That man even wanted to cut off his glands and remain as a beta just to be with Sheng.
I hope people would read the novel first before criticizing Hua's character as the series cut down many parts of Hua's backstory. That man never got the love or affection from his family and had to always fight for his survival. His mother taught him not to show emotions, his foster mother kept him cold and hungry, other kids bullied him for thinking him omega, his brothers bullied him even though he was just by himself. So when he got someone who genuinely cared for him and saw how he cares even for an illegitimate child(since Hua is also an illegitimate), he held onto him like this was the only lifeline of his life.. So he had to do everything possible to grab his attention and make sure he loves him back since Sheng was also quite of a playboy and hard to persue.
Many people blame him for the grape scene. But you can see that he really tried for so many years. He literally built a special room and chained himself with the best door lock system fearing of hurting Sheng. But if you read OMEGAVERSE, you'd know that they are basically animals during their ruts without any self control. But the next time they did it, you can see that Hua asked for Sheng's permission again and again making sure Sheng knows who he is being with.
Sheng also grew up in a family which made him never believe in eternal relationship. So I believe he needed someone as persistent and promising as Hua Yong. He also could never hate Hua cuz he also knows that Hua's whole world revolves around him.
And I swear the production team just won a jackpot with the casting specially Eliot. He portrayed both the enigma and omega role so perfectly. If you read the novel, you'd know that this character is really hard to portray since the character seems mostly expressionless but expresses a lot in just micro second movements of eyes. But Eliot didn't give any scope of criticism. He nailed it. He is the life of the series. Whenever I read the novel's Hua Yong's parts, I'm always like "That's Eliot!"
Next the people who are saying Gao Tu and Wenlang didn't get enough screen time. I agree. This could have been better. Even the NongJian sisters cried saying the people they trusted were so bad that they are also disappointed. But one thing we have to know it's the novel also doesn't show there parts that much. They are the second couple for a reason and won't get equal time as the main couple. Honestly at some point I was annoyed by the obliviousness of both Wenlang and Gao Tu!But I'd still hope for an extended episode or season two for more of their story.
The OSTs?! Oh wow! I was in love with Pupeeteer and Taming Desire. Gosh! Eliot's voice?! Never have I ever been this obsessed with a Chinese drama OST! I feel like Ocean and Qiu need slightly improvement in their acting but still it was good. The production team was also so good at bringing out the scenes. The earthquake scene was so hard to do but they still did so good! And I can say that even without any extreme kiss scene or NC scenes, they showed us how good chemistry is shown! One of my favorite dramas of this year. I'm gonna miss it. And petition for season two!
I signed up here just to write down the review as soon as the drama ended.

“ABO Desire” – The Omegaverse That Took Me Out ??

ABO Desire is on another level — seriously. And the craziest part? It’s from China! Like, thank you China 😭🙏 because once they start taking BL seriously, they’re going to dominate the whole industry. I’m so happy they actually released this. I thought they wouldn’t even complete it 😭

Now, let’s talk about Hua Yong. What should I even call this man? He’s too good. His expressions, that innocent face hiding something wild underneath… if you don’t know him, you’d never believe how obsessed, crazy, and delusional he can get 😭🔥 That mix of purity and madness? Iconic.

Then there’s Sheng Shaoyou. These two are absolutely insane for each other 😩 But between them, let’s be honest — Hua Yong is the real problem 😭 That man defines obsession, and that’s exactly why I love him.

And don’t even get me started on Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang. Their bond runs deep — years together, same school, same university — their dynamic is something else. The only thing that threw me off was the ending 😭 It felt too rushed. I really wanted to see Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang’s future (like, where are their kids?? 😭).

Still, Hua Yong and Sheng Shaoyou did not disappoint. The chemistry, the possessiveness, the Omegaverse tension — everything was just perfect.

If you love stories with dominant, smart, slightly unhinged male leads and chaotic passion — this one’s for you. 💅

10/10 — I read the novel and watched the series, and both were pure insanity (in the best way possible). 🫶🔥

Best ABO DRAMA

It is one of the best best best drama
I really recommend everyone to watch this drama 🥰.
Just awesome chemistry between the leads and their behind the scenes are a must watch (they are more intimate ).
Just it requires some more episodes
Ending felt a bit rushed but. It's still the best.
Gao tu and Wenlang require more screen time and also lele and peanut need some shared screen time
But still it is satisfying.

Wow, truly a masterpiece

This series was so beautiful i remember when I first discovered it when the first episode was just released and i was so excited to see a first mpreg series, i waited every single saturday for 4 months for each episode to be released and wow it was really worth it.

Although this show was a kinda of fantasy-ish drama it portrayed real life problems, abortion, miscarriage, dad problems, money problems, being used by the people you love, this series truly has everything and has truly grasped me in and changed my point of view in life.

From the acting, to the music to the scenery just everything it just made me feel like I was pulled inside of the story. Im truly sad to say that ive finished this series because it was just so amazing.

One scene in this series that made me really just think to myself and feel terrible was ep.16 the scene where Hua Yong calls up Wenlang and vents to him when Sheng is in the hospital and he says that he doesnt want to live anymore if its not with Sheng and he just that made me feel so moved, and the way Wenlang finally said something good out of his mouth and comforted him, as you know Wenlang and Hua Yong tend to fight with eachother a lot but Wenlang really proved he was a true friend to him and was there for him in that scene and he captured all of the emotions.

I feel so bad for Wenlang in ep.16 i feel like he genuinely wanted to care for Gao Tu and i will admit that episode was way too short and felt rushed but dang i feel like this show couldve been way better if they just gave us more time on the last episode or atleast a special episode? The ending was truly dissapointing I was definitely expecting more but for some reason I feel like the ending is more realistic, and the moral of the story is that you never know how much you value something until its lost, Gao Tu loved Wenlang but Wenlang proved Gao Tu so many times that he just simply cant get it together, Gao Tu is so strong like I truly admire him for that. Giving birth to a child and raising him for 3 years by yourself? Applause to this man.

I really hoped that Gao Tu and Wenlangs story was better because second lead couples have a hook on me and I enjoyed them more than the main couple but its okay the ending was still good, Hua Yong and Sheng had a happy ending which made me happy and I love that they added the scene where Wenlang hugged Gao Tu it was truly sweet and emotional.

Hua Yong and Shengs story was really beautiful they showed us the genuine ups and down of a relationship, the way Sheng didnt immediately submit to Hua Yong after finding out he had been lied to is just chefs kiss because usually in this types of series they just forgive them after like 10 mins into the episode but he truly loved Hua Yong which is why he just accepted Yong for who he was. Hua Yong and Shengs child, Peanut is truly funny i laughed so much in the last 10 minutes because of that little trouble maker.

I will miss this series so much as its been apart of my life for 4 months now, I love you ABO DESIRE and you will forever have a place in my heart, I think this is the best series i have ever watched in my life and i wouldnt want the story any other way. Goodbye Desire Series!! i wish i could rewatch this for the first time again :((

The series is so good. I love them all so much! The cast, the directors and production all did well. I would love to recommend this to a friend. I already rewatched it 4 times, coz why not? I can't get over with them! All of them were fit to the role. Hoping we get a special episode for Shen Wenlang and Gao Tu.

Hua Yong's Obsession in a Full-Blown Level

Started this just right after the end of its release. Currently waiting if it's really true that it will have special episodes.

The opening scene was the perfect choice to set the mood and tone of everything. It immediately showed off the complex and intricate world of our characters. Also, the narration about the Omegaverse trope is also on point so as not to confuse the viewers.

Eliot really amazed me by his acting. The way his eyes changes when he shifts his personality is really on point. If not by the spoilers I saw on the internet, I wouldn't have known HY’s true identity.

Kipuka also nailed his character! His acting is on-par with Eliot’s and that made the series so much better. Their bond off-screen is also not to be belittled, as it really helped them execute the characters really well.

Ocean also have his best on this one. His looks really suit SWL’s character, but his personality off-screen is a total opposite. That fact really surprised me, as I initially thought of him as someone serious and quite. Instead, he's a drama queen and a total vibe.

And of course, my favorite Seeky. His character was so pitiful in the story, and he really gave his best effort to act it out. My heart aches for him, and I just want to comfort him so much (knowing that even in reality, he experienced bad things too). Seeky deserves so much hugs and love so I hope fans and his co-actors treat him good. Also, with his build, being an Alpha also suits him. I wouldn't mind seeing him and Ocean switch places.

All in all, ABO Desire really pulled me to read the novel version. It gave me more understanding of the characters, and I loved the scene that weren't shown in the series. I just wish the series had more episodes.

I hope NongJian sisters and the Desire4 can stay together and protect each other well. I'll be rooting for them—as a part of the I4Cream fandom.

THE CHEMISTRY THE VISUAL

if you're a sucker for Enigma x alpha / alpha x alpha like me, you'll love this hahaha. Also, Hua Yong give me back my tears ☺️🩴 every Shenanigans he pulls 🤣 .
The actor who plays the character of Sheng Shouyou is so good, he brings this character to life that you actually forget that Sheng Shouyou is a red flag.

The CHEMISTRY, the VISUAL 🤌🤌

Gao tu I'll lend you 🩴
Shen wenlang🤦

give it a shot and judge it for yourself! Don't let other people's reviews stop you from giving this series a try.

**Whisper** (are they a real couple? that actor hua yong and sheng shouyou) 👀 my 12th fujoshi sense, okay ill see my self out.

The worst bl drama I’ve watched

Even though I liked the actors and the actor’s chemistry I can’t ignore how misogynistic and stereotypical this series was. The idea that your worth depends on what you are born as, resembles old stereotypes between men, women, and minorities that we are trying to reject. I know it’s fictional but as à woman this “omega verse” it offends me. It also felt emotionless for some reason

A Hypnotic Subversion of State-Enforced Conformity

ABO Desire is a fascinating, bizarre, and ultimately hypnotic mystery-horror-stalker mashup. While it utilizes the "Omegaverse" (Alpha/Beta/Omega) framework, it serves as a scathing satire of elite obsession, labor exploitation, and the rigid social engineering associated with contemporary Chinese power structures.

The series is anchored by an outstanding, intense performance by Huang Xing. He is a master of microexpressions, allowing a myriad of thoughts and feelings to flicker across his face to communicate volumes without a word. His hypnotic presence makes the "Enigma" reveal feel like a profound philosophical shift rather than a mere plot twist.

His Enigma represents a radical "Third Way" outside the traditional Alpha/Omega binary. By portraying the Enigma as someone who holds the most power yet has zero interest in titles or status, the show mocks the elite’s social obsession with rank. It suggests that true agency is only possible by subverting the patriarchal, hypermasculine power dynamics promoted by both the genre and contemporary Chinese state-aligned “gender policies.”

A particularly poignant metaphor exists in the secondary romance. The lower-rank character’s desperate attempts to "pass" as a higher rank serve as a universal reference for marginalized people—whether they are LGBTQ+ individuals in repressive societies or people of color in racist systems. It highlights the psychological and physical toll of a system that demands conformity for social survival.

This struggle is literalized through the brief, yet telling, inclusion of "ABO toilets." For an American viewer, they are a surreal and disturbing reminder of our own country’s current obsession with public restrooms. The policing of these spaces in the show mirrors the real-world attacks on transgender citizens, who, like the characters in the series, embody a direct threat to and an undermining of traditional hegemonic masculinity.

Written and directed by a female-led team, the series acts as a visceral condemnation of labor exploitation and the rigid social engineering that defines the fragility of "Alpha" status. The "domestic stability" found at the end is only achieved by completely dismantling traditional power dynamics. The two dominant male characters are forced to "grow up" and broaden their acceptance of others, proving that true dominance comes from intelligence and strategy, not CCP-mandated artificial masculinity.

ABO Desire is far from perfect—it is dense, messy, and requires a rewatch to truly grasp—but it is brave and essential. It proves that even a "fantasy" genre can be used as a razor-sharp tool to attack the foundations of patriarchy and social hierarchy.

ABO DESIRE THE SERIES (how long I spent to watch it; Oct 16- Oct 24)

This is the only other bl I watched after watching RL and the only A.B.O based megaverse (omegaverse) that I have ever watched too. After scrolling on ytshorts, I found out that many other bl fans have been suggesting this drama along with some other chinese dramas so I decided to have a look at this. When I first stumbled upon this, I had no idea of the A.B.O system, I only knew that Alphas were on top, Betas were in the middle and Omegas were on the bottom, more like an alphabet based idea. I watched the first 20minutes of the first episode and I got bored. It took many replays on the first episode to get me to understand the whole idea and context of the drama. I barely got any names in episode 1 and learnt everyone's names in episode 2 and 3. At the start, I lowkey didn't know why Gao Tu had some screen time in episode 1 because I thought he was just another side character like Secretary Chang but I soon realised...BRO WAS PART OF THE FRICKING SIDE COUPLE. It also took me a while to realise that he was just an Omega pretending to be a Beta with asthma, even though that was mentioned in the flashback scene in ep 1. yep...im a bit slow. After knowing everything I needed to know, including the fact that Hua Yong, the Omega looking guy, was indeed an Enigma and indeed a top. HOW COULD BRO BE A TOP? HE LITERALLY LOOKS LESS TOP THAN SHENG SHAO YOU. And in my opinion Sheng Shao You is like really cute, in a bottom kind of way. Ngl I kinda felt bad our baby mama SSY because Hua Yong being an Enigma literally made him so possessive and toxic. The way his face gets twisted with jealousy as soon as he whiffed the smell of another Omega on his Alpha's skin. When Shao You cried in episode 9 I literally felt my heart break. If only he knew what kind of thing Hua Yong does behind his back as the CEO of X Holdings. He way his voice changed when he was talking to his employees like Secretary Chang and Shen Wenlang which was more firm and Enigma like and when he talks to Shao You he gives an Omega sounding 'Sheng Xiansheng'. bro. I have never even heard you call your alpha his name. 什么盛先生你他妈头! Honestly in Hua Yong's defense though, I can tell he really cares about Shao You. The fact that he is managing an entire company that has best drug for pheremones and cooking for your alpha and keeping yourself hidden as an innocent Omega in your life. Damn, Hua Yong 哥哥 that is lowkey impressive. And y'all can we talk abt Episode 9... Like what happened?!!! Ok, its basically a scene with a banquet that Hua Yong organised and then he somehow doesn't show up cause he's unexpectedly in rut? And then Gao Tu is in heat? Shao You overhears a convo from bystanders about an "omega" in heat, follows the bystanders' commands, leading him to the A.B.O restroom, then gets yanked by the collar into the room and Hua Yong goes all top mode and enigma mode. DAMN BRO U PLANNED ALL OF THIS. And I literally don't understand because Shao You didn't recognise him? I'm so confused. Shao You 先生, he's like your hubby, or soon to be anyway. And is this how Hua Yong got Shao You pregnant? IDK I have to know when I watch the other episodes, I am currently like shocked after watching that masterpiece. Best episode by far. Ok I lied, my favourite so far is 12 or 13. Like I understand that the main couple moves faster than the side couple but bro. Like Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang don't even have any sexual relationship except for that one night in X Hotel where Gao Tu was in heat and Wenlang was in like rut or something idk, im a bit slow, and somehow Gao Tu got pregnant. Congrats btw, but literally when will Wenlang know? I am about to watch ep 14, so I think that Wenlang's going to know in this episode and something spicy will happen. IDK just a prediction. NVM nothing spicy..just that Sheng Shaoqing got what he fucking deserved. Bro spends all of his brothers money on gambling, takes advantage of his kindness, and has the fucking audacity to invite him to a dinner, with a knife and put his hands on his "Omega". It's literally ironic bc SSY is like:"Hua Yong, I will protect you from everyone" and Hua Yong replies with, "Then who is going to protect everyone from me." I was actually like 发火 yk, when I saw that knife I was like "Don't you fucking dare touch my Enigma if you want to keep your head'. Anyway rn it is almost 11pm on Oct 23, finished watching ep 15 and actually so sad that there is only one more episode left, please please please give me a S2! NVM THERE IS NO SEASON 2. I also find it really hard to believe that the side couple is going to start their relationship as bf and bf, Gao Tu starts being a mama to a child and them babysitting little Peanut in one 54minute episode! Yes I did "accidentally" and I say "accidentally" look at some spoilers.

IM LITERALLY CRYING HOW COULD THE ENTIRE SERIES JUST END LIKE THAT? The side couple legit deserved so much more bro like wdym they meet in some playground and Shen Wenlang is happy to meet Gao Tu for the first time and they hug and now their story is over? I at least want to see that they ended up together and raised the child together. Like Gao Tu's child doesn't deserve to spend his life without a supporting "Father Figure" and I really hope they have a Season 2 and the side couple could have a much better life together. im actually crying so hard rn. THANK U SM TO ABO DESIRE FOR GIVING ME HAPPINESS, A NEW OBSESSION WITH THEIR SHUAI GE S' AND A FIXATION THAT I CAN ANNOY MY FRIENDS WITH. ILY'ALL SO MUCH FOR GIVING US THIS SERIES, NOW IM ACTUALLY GOING TO SIT AROUND REPLAYING THE ENTIRE SERIES an 亿 amount of times and reminence this in my dreams. TYSMMM<3
