Last episode was a mess.

I loved this series so much, but the last episode left me with a big WHY?? So rushed and so many unanswered questions. It really was a big shame. I really looked foreward to a good story between Gao Tu en Shen Wen Lang, but they hardly got any screen time in the last episode. Why work a story up to something and leave the ending unresolved...

The visuals are stunning and the special effects with the Pheromones very well done. The music is very beautifull.
The kisses were very "polite" but got better in the later episodes.
The acting was very good and i loved the smart replies of Hua Yong, they were really funny.

Really a must see!

too many expectations! disappointed

i was a bit sceptical at the start, the storyline felt unstable but thankfully it all came clear in episode 3. My fav couple is gao tu with shen, and although we didnt get as many scenes as id like, it was good. The music and acting were fine, sometimes a bit weird but nothing unwatchable. The last episode was disappointing- not only did the story for the main couple feel rushed, but the second couple was more of a "dont forget to add this here to get it over with". Didnt make much sense and if they had thought this over and gave us a clearer ending, it would have been 10/10.

Gao Tu and his little screentime

Showcasing the A-B-O Universe was a fresh concept for me. I find myself entertained and learn new things with this creative approach of pairing, or what is known as mating in their world. I love Gao Tu, and I am always looking forward to his story every single EPs. Even though there are EPs wherein he has minimal to no exposure, I hold to the drama solely because of him. Li Pei En is so handsome and the most charming actor from the cast. I was mesmerized by his beauty.

As someone who hardly kept his Beta-identity for all those years, simply because Shen Wen Lang hated Omega, it was a very fascinating dedication to stay by the side of his crush, even though he thought that it was one-sided. I am always thirsty between Gao Tu and Shen Wen Lang’s scenes, and the production never failed to disappoint me until the finale. That was the end? It was obviously rushed, without a proper conclusion, for my best boy, Gao Tu, and when Shen Wen Lang was finally able to hug him for the first time in eternity, with their child witnessing the dramatic reunion.

For the sake of Gao Tu and Shen Wen Lang, I stayed. Not gonna say anything with other characters as I just come to the point to not mind them at all. I wasn’t a fan of the main couple’s story; every person has their subjective reasoning and avoids pushing others to like something that they don’t like.

I was not too impressed with this series as a whole because my expectations were a lot more from it. Now let's get started with ep 16; The episode seemed rushed but also full of fillers at the same time? We never got to know what happened to Gao Tu and how he went through the pregnancy alone without an alpha.

Also how come did Shen Wenleng not suspect anything when Gao Tu's father brought up the abortion to him? I get that their relationship is built on misunderstandings but also how did even Gao Tu's father conclude that the child belongs to Shen Wenleng given that he's perceived as a character with negative IQ? I just find it unrealistic for him to be so distant and neglecting but to somehow figure out all of that based on the little vague info he had.

Now this is my personal opinion but I just couldn't bear the idea of an alpha bearing a child, especially when it comes to Sheng Shaoyou. Hua Yong looks like an actual Omega and I get that this is how he was acting at the beginning to manipulate Shaoyou but he still acted in a submissive way even after letting him know that he's an enigma, and honestly I just felt like his looks were way too delicate and soft for an enigma but that's just my view.

It feels kind of pointless mentioning this scene but it was really absurd I had to talk about it 😭 the scene where Shaoyou's half-brother (I forgot his name and low-key don't care about him) invites him and Hua Yong tags along, HOW COME NEITHER OF THEM SUSPECTED THAT HE'S ONTO SOMETHING? I get that Hua Yong was role-playing as an Omega to film the whole thing but he still drunk when that guy forced him to do so and got his glands severely injured it just feels stupid.

I just feel like the whole thing was underwhelming, I was also really excited about the series since it's the first ABO series that features bl so it felt disappointing to have all of these visuals and budget go to waste just because the script was way too mediocre. Also I need to mention that I didn't read the novel/manhua so I'm not sure if they changed many things in order to adapt it.

We want season 2 ( Wen lang and Gao Tu's version)

I've started this series only for Wen lang and Gao Tu...
I've waited every single week just to watch them, but the screen time is too less, even today on last episode they ended
it just by hug.... We literally want to see their whole pregnancy time, their struggle, their proper reunion, how will they ended up together....
I also want story of ShenYu and YingYi ( Wenlang's parent) their story is also very fascinating....

We LOVE PREGNANT MEN

I love that this show really dove into all the ABO stuff. I think if you're going to do an ABO show you have to really go for it, and this show definitely did.

I think the four main characters were really interesting. I loved them all for different reasons and the actors killed it. I loved seeing Wenlang's growth throughout the series! I wish Hua Yong could've had some kind of character development, but he didn't and some people never change, so I guess it's okay.

My only complaint is the ending. I wish we got more from Gao Tu and Wenlang. I wish we got to see them have an actual conversation about everything. I wanted them to end up together but even if they didn't it would've been nice for them to get more screentime towards the end. It just felt unsatisfying. I also thought the time jump was abrupt and made it so certain things were skipped over that shouldn't have been. They're ending just felt like the creators didn't care about it anymore towards the end.

This show was missing baby bumps. Wanted to see them with actual baby bellies.

I really liked this series though! Definitely different and very interesting! Can't wait to see the actors in things in the future!

First omegaverse drama, yet boring plot. Justice for Gao Tu!

PROS: An actual omegaverse tv show, this is for the history books! Hilarious dialogue here and there, likeable characters, okay acting (can't blame them, the scenario isn't the best quality-wise). The second pairing of the show is much more interesting than the main one, and I only continued watching to see what would happen with them.

CONS: Boring scenario, to say the least. Hua Yong's enigma manipulations were intriguing to watch and I was very into Gao Tu's character (this man was suffering every single episode_ but, other than that, nothing really happens. The main couple is not that interesting, even though Sheng Shaoyou is very likeable as a person. Very obviously based on a fanfiction-like novel. Not enough attention to the second couple!

PLOT COMMENTARY: Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang were carrying this show on their limited screen time backs and yet they were not able to have a fulfilling ending or, at least, ONE proper conversation in the entire series.

An unfortunate let-down of a much-anticipated novelty

I have to start off by saying there's a lot of valid criticism for ABO in the first place. A lot of the time it seems like an attempt of straight women to eroticize the abuse by men against women by using feminine gay bottoms as a proxy to not feel personally victimized by it. That's always been off-putting to me because I will never understand why women, who are so often assaulted by men, would find the fantasy of it hot and want to be dominated by men without the ability to not consent as in the ABO universe.
Having said that, if you're going to do an interpretation of The most stereotyping genre of fiction then you have to do justice to its base archetypes. Call me a tradjoshi but I don't want to see the alpha and omega being of the same height and proportions, the sub-genders being reversible (since when was that ever an option in ABO) or the omega-looking and acting enigma turning into an alpha top. In that case what is even the point of even making up such normative sub-genders? So I suppose my main gripe with the show is the writing and the source material itself which defeated the whole premise of having these supposedly fixed sub-genders and their innate traits and came across as very unconvincing and all over the place.
I would have loved to have seen a powerful secretly independent dominant omega who has the alpha wrapped around his finger with his charms (and pheromones) alone rather than what we got: an all-powerful, borderline sociopathic, manipulative, r*pist 'enigma' turned alpha who was simultaneously too gentle, poised and feminine to take him seriously in that role, again considering the very distinct rules of the ABO verse.
The r*pe scene (or should I say scenes?)Is what killed any interest I had had for the show. Because there is a way to make dubious consent at least somewhat tolerable and sensual in ABO by making the alpha and omega so overcome by their hormones, pheromones and cycles that they mutually cannot resist each other. In this case though, particularly between the main couple the enigma just r*pes the alpha who is not in his right mind because of the heat the enigma artificially started in him, who thinks the enigma is a stranger and verbally says he does not want it. Amidst all the boring business jargon and pointless plotlines, this moment is when the show really took a dive for the worst. The enigma's acting as a top wasn't believable either and the alpha looked visibly uncomfortable with being the bottom till the end so their whole dynamic was just stilted and weird.
Li Pei (aka Gao Tu) was the only good actor in this show but to be honest I didn't find the chemistry between Gao Tu and the alpha good enough or their story compelling enough to want to see a continuation of it. Not a fan of the bigot and his victim becoming lovers trope either. Overall such a let-down of a show which seemed quite promising. Still, I have to commend the showrunners for getting this made at all despite CCP’s hideous homophobic censorship and will be looking for better gay media from China in the future. Would love to see proper gl as well.

Shen Wenlang hurt my brain

Okay so this show actually exceeded my expectations. but my expectations were also below ground so do what you will with that information. Hua Yong as a character was so interesting because he was sooooo manipulative and it was SO overlooked. I will never forget that scene where he went away for his rut and came back crying to SSY about being "used." LIKE WTF. I feel like half of his lies were just unnecessary. He didn't need to pretend that he was s.a at all. With that being said, as a couple they worked I guess. Clearly SSY did not want to be saved, he was smiling all the time even after finding out the truth. I was so surprised because this man did not seem mad at the pregnancy at all. He just kinda took it like a champ. Clearly, that's his man and he's gonna stand beside him.

I don't deny that we had some cute and funny moments with the couple, but i can't ignore how deceptive Hua Yong was. I think that's the point though. That side of him is what makes the show more "interesting." His obsession is funny and concerning. Also, his protectiveness over SSY was very fun to watch at times.

Now, Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang.....
For the sake of time I'm going to keep this short (but trust I have a LOT to say). By the end of the show, I was not rooting for them. Tbh I stopped rooting for them a long time ago. SWL has so many issues, I cannot understand what Gao Tu sees in him. He is so disrespectful, clearly never thinks before talking (or just thinks in general), and is just not worth the pining. Like why would you want your man to be SWL out of all the fish in the sea. SWL's sole purpose in life must be to the say the most outrageous things to Gao Tu at all times. He is strapped with insults.

Even though I hate the idea of him being a love interest, I love him as a character. He was lowkey the comedic relief during the show. I loved his moments with HY. Their friendships is the cutest thing. They love hate each other. Just like I love hate SWL.

Finally, GT. Please invest in some therapy. I was sitting watching the show thinking GT and SWL need to be single. Like they both have so much to work on. And maybe. JUST MAYBE. after some intense therapy sessions they can consider a relationship. Gao Tu seriously deserved better, but he also just need to stand up for himself. Like I was gripping my laptop yelling "stand up" during that conversation with SWL and his dad.

Anywho, I think it was worth checking out at least once. I was hesitant to watch an omegaverse bl (like who's idea was it to bring this to the big screens) but I liked it more than I thought. Even though the show wasn't the most amazing thing I've seen, it had its good parts.

This serie is sooooo addictive. I watched the first episode and got so addicted that I read the whole novel in 3 days...

First of all, yes it a fucking black flag. Hua Yong is a manipulative psycho. So be aware about it.
Actually, I'm not gonna be that much sad for Sheng ShaoYou. A player getting tricked into becoming head over hells for someone. No fair enough.
We failed you Gao Tu.. I wanted to go in the screen to protect you.
I'm actually sad for Shen Wenlang, yes he is an ass toward Gao Tu. But get in his shoes, Gao Tu, his long time crush - even if he isn't aware of it - is in love with someone else and leaving him for them. Ofc he is gonna hate the smell of this supposed omega.

It's a bit rush toward the end. The show is a great adaptation of the novel. Sadly I expected a little more of Gao Tu, because I wanted more of them in the novel :c They give us a little more but didn't do a proper end

Btw can we not normalize using rut and heat to excuse SA... I know it's omegaverse blablabla but no.

ABO: Desire the Series completely exceeded my expectations. The story is addictive, emotional, and beautifully written. Every episode kept me hooked, and the chemistry between the characters is unforgettable. Sheng Shaoyou, played by Kipuka Qiu, truly stole the spotlight, his acting is raw, powerful, and full of heart. The production, soundtrack, and cinematography are stunning, making the whole drama feel like a masterpiece. This isn’t just a romance, it’s an emotional journey that explores love, pain, and growth. Absolutely worth watching, easily one of the best series of the year!

Sheng Shaoyou team fr 😻
Love all cast tho
