One of the best Kdrama

Oh where do I start? I’ve been seeing this show in my recommendation since this show started. I really wanted to watch this since Kim Hye Yoon is the female lead I liked her from Extraordinary You and I was really hooked with that drama. I was expecting that Lovely Runner will give me the same feeling but I hold back because this is on-going I didn’t want to experience the agony of waiting. But then yesterday I can’t help but binge watch and finish all fourteen episodes. All I can say is that Lovely Runner is perfection. It gave me nostalgic feeling. The OST is so good it keeps playing in my head over and over. The cast is perfect. They are all versatile. This show gave me a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Kim Hye Yoon never disappoints she act so well that you can’t feel she’s acting at all. It was so natural. She can make me laugh then cry after a moment. Byeon Woo Seok also matches the female lead’s versatility. I really love his character in this drama. He portrayed his role so well. He looked like a real swimmer, actor and an idol. I just found out that he actually sang the song ‘Sonagi (Sudden Shower)’ like damn he’s so talented what else can’t he do? The concert part where he sang Sonagi is full of emotions the last time I got carried away with a song like this was Jung Yong Hwa’s ‘Because I missed you’ in Heartstrings and to think he also sang it live?! How I wish there will be a real concert for Eclipse. They even have their own YT channel with all the OST of Eclipse. Byeon Woo Seok is a gem. His character is the greenest flag male lead I’ve ever seen in a drama. I hope they work again together in the future. The only thing I’m sad about is that this show has to end and I’m gonna miss my happy pill. Kudos to everyone who made this show a success. 💕

Memories will never disappeared. They will engraved to your soul!

I decide to watch this drama out of curiousity, but turned out to be my top list favorite drama..

Like Sol and Sunjae, I feel like meeting this drama are like destiny. It is surprisingly give me wonderful impact.

Story,
This drama have such a beautiful and unique story which I can't find in K-Drama land nowadays. Time traveling with so many things that make it more beautiful. The story was easy to follow and light-hearted, but it's make me both cry or laugh so hard. Respect to production team especially writer-nim. Thank you for making such a beautiful story for us.

Acting/Casting,
Byeon Wooseok, I can't believe I spend my whole life missing this talented artist. His acting skill, how he potrayed his character, his gesture, his effort to bring the character alive, all about him bring me undescribable feeling. It is such a blessing I get to know you Byeon Wooseok. He shows that effort and hardwork will never betrayed us. Thank you Wooseok for bringing Sunjae alive for us so perfectly.
Also I want to shout out for Kim Hyeyeon for all of her work for this drama. She is such a talented actrees until I believe that Im Sol is made just for her. I can't imagine other Im Sol besides her. Wooseok and Hyeyeon really made such a great chemistry that can spread their impact around the world.
I can proudly say myself as a fan for any person who act in this drama. All of the actors doing really great job. I didn't skip any moment and scene cause all of them are incredibly enjoyable.

Music,
I love all of the soundtrack. From Eclipse's songs, and other ost. Each song really suit the mood of each scene. Beside that, sometimes the soundtrack seem trivial and production team just unbothered and put the song carelessly. This drama really an exceptuon. The music departement really doing a great effort to match the mood both of the scene and the song itself. And they chose the singer of their soundtrack perfectly.
I can proudly say that if Eclipse really debut, I will be a hard fan. All of the soundtrack already being a permanent resident on my daily playlist.
And my favorite is Sudden Shower or 소나기 of course. This song along with A Day from ATEEZ's Jongho Never failed to make me cry.
p.s, if any production team read this, please bring Eclipse to music show, their live perfornance really blown me away. I need their performance video!

Rewatch Value,
I will proudly put this for my number 1 on my top favorite drama. I plan to rewatched it for sometime, maybe for some months until I'm ready to move on from this beautiful masterpiece.
Overall I can say that such a blessing get to know this drama, the story, the character, the actor, the soundtrack, and other aspec to. This is my most perfect drama that really suit my preference!

so predictable

just like many other time travel dramas. same story and repetition of plots. FL keeps going back in time and failing every time, recycled stalker plot again. not to mention the 32-year-old actor playing a teenager. all success comes down to the handsome ml and couples height difference. ost is perhaps the only positive thing followed by the actress good acting, which ironically is downplayed by fans of the drama who treats her like a rookis, even though she already has an established career.....

Sorry but...

"Lovely Runner" from various sources mention that the drama's time travel concept lacks clear rules, making it difficult to follow. The motivations of certain characters, like the psycho taxi driver, are unclear and seem to exist only to advance the plot. Some viewers find the romance and comedic elements overshadow the story's coherence, reducing its overall impact.

Just a drama filled with all the cliched romantic scenes we have been watching for years

I am a Wooseok enjoyer so I decided on giving the series a try. As a fan of Wooseok, I am really happy he got his limelight through this show. But other than that there is nothing new or unique about this drama. Maybe the romance works well for new kdrama watcher. I am just so tired watching the show. The writers really didn't care to explore any other characters in this show. Except ml and fl, every other character are just there as a decorative purpose. The writers were hyper focused on fl saving the ml that they didn't even care about any character development in any of the characters in the story. Just bad writing and cringey fl doing random things leading her in trouble always. Don't know what's the hype abt this drama. Anyway Wooseok lets grab those awards for this year because he really was born to do this role and he played his part really well as always. Could have given better story for the sml, but unfortunately he is also just there to make the ml jealous and for decorative purpose.

Also, The fl's disability got forgotten and after few episodes it felt like she/the writers just ignored it. The writers should have made fl taking time and relive her past like Twinkling Watermelon show. The story and the characters were so shallow which is the main drawback imo. The show had two great lead actors (BWS and KHY) with good side actors but never fully used their potential.

Positive things
1. The comic timing and lil expression variations of BWS and KHY were so good.
2. The chemistry of the leads.
3. The first 5 episodes were really good.
4. Music/OST

My favourite drama yet in 2024

Lovely Runner stole my heart! The writing was near perfect – no filler episodes, unnecessary misunderstandings, or dull moments. The humor was spot-on, and the romantic scenes, especially the ending, struck the perfect balance – neither too over-the-top nor underwhelming.

The characters were beautifully crafted, each playing a vital role in the story's richness. The parallel narratives were woven flawlessly, leaving no plot holes behind.

Goodbye, enjoyable Monday and Tuesday nights. I'll miss you!

WHY ARE YOU FINDING LOW RATED REVIEW THERE IS NONE !!

Let’s take a moment to thank the cast and team behind this amazing show, which has managed to win our hearts for the past eight weeks. After everything this show went through to reach us, its success is even sweeter.

Im Sol and Sun-jae finally got their happy ending. It was a good call for the writers to make the last episode solely about their happiness. There were no eleventh-hour villain stories. They allowed us to see SolJae thrive in their couple era and gave us a glimpse of their wedding. It was the perfect way to end this iconic show.

Everyone got their happy ending and our never-ending theories can finally be put to rest. Let us know what are some of your favorite moments from the show. We now officially bid a bittersweet farewell to our beloved characters as Lovely Runner takes its final bow, receiving a well-deserved standing ovation.

Lovely Runner: The positives
What a remarkable journey Lovely Runner has been! Each moment of the show feels like a blessing on our screens. From its humble beginnings as an idol-fan romance time-slip series, it has taken us through a myriad of tropes and timelines, imparting lessons on love, grief, healing, fate, and so much more.

Let's pause to express our gratitude to the cast and crew behind this incredible show, which has captured our hearts over the past eight weeks. Despite the challenges it faced in reaching us, given its production and casting issues, its success is all the more rewarding.

Each and every character in the show was amazing, from Sol and Sun Jae to their families, friends, Tae Sung, and even our villain. Each character received a well-deserved ending, and each character with their plots brought a perfect balance to the show.

The decision not to drag out the villain's plot and to resolve it within the 15th episode added to the excitement of the finale, allowing us to focus more on witnessing SolJae as a couple.

Their antics as they attempted to date in secret, Sun Jae's unwavering supportiveness as a boyfriend, and Sol finally achieving her dream were all highlights of the series. Additionally, Tae Sung deserves the 'Best Second Lead' trophy of the year for his portrayal as the perfect friend and Im Sol's second lead. From saving Sun Jae to catching Young Soo, he truly did it all!

Lovely Runner: The negatives
The show delivered a multitude of tropes and stories all at once, offering a refreshing break from the tired clichés often seen on screen. However, now that the series has come to an end, fans are left with bittersweet goodbyes.

While we were never fully enlightened on the true reason behind Young Soo's persistent interference in Sol and Sun Jae's destiny, it's perhaps a blessing in disguise that the show wrapped up swiftly without unnecessary dragging.

The ambiguity surrounding Sol's grandmother, whether she is a time traveler or not, too is a drawback as it was never resolved. Her possession of the watch and the meaningful conversation she had with Sun Jae suggest she may indeed have a role in their story. Despite a few unresolved elements and minor loopholes, the series couldn't have been more perfect, making farewells all the more difficult.

A Romance with a Watch that has a Leading Role

If living your life and falling in love resulted in the loss of life for the one you love but you could go back in time, would you do this to change the life of the lost loved one? Most would say yes. The series is about this scenario. Kim Hye Yoon's Im Sol tries over and over to save her love from death, but always fails. A nondescript watch is the time machine. The series details and narrates her attempts to save his life time and time again but always fails until she changes the narrative to where they never meet. All this in order to save his life. It's the tale of a GREAT love between two people.

I read some reviews before I started the series, and they were not flattering. While I can understand the weaknesses these reviews highlighted, my take is different. This series is a modern day Romeo and Juliet without the family anguish. Two people with such a great love for each other it withstood the test of time, space, death, and time travel.

The weaknesses that I saw were in the editing and somewhat in the writing. There is a lot of detail built into the time travel that can easily confuse the viewer. Im Sol goes back in time 3 times. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I was in the future or past. It didn't help that random scenes were thrown in periodically. In one regard I can understand as it helped to establish the strong connection between the two main characters and it also relieved the sadness and anguish (through comic relief and supporting character subplots) this storyline would inflict on the viewer. After all how much sadness can a viewer take before switching off? Some of the chaotic-ness of the storyline helps to bring the viewer along in the story. At least it did this for me as I never wanted to stop viewing.

If you're going to watch this, see it for what it is. A great love story of two people trying desperately to be together but fate just keeps interfering, yet they keep trying. I have to say kudos to the two main actors, Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon for their tremendous leading roles....nice!! This series had an amazing supporting cast as well. Song Geon Hee (smooth-like- butter, this actor is amazing!! I'm looking forward to future dramas with him), Jung Young Joo, Seo Hey Won, Kim Won Hye (three of my favorites from previous dramas, they did not disappoint), Baek In Hyun and Song Ji Ho added so much to the story and their loyalty to the main leads, and Heo Hyung Kyo was so so very evil. Well done to this amazing cast!!

I hope you give this series a chance. It does wander around a bit, and that is frustrating for the viewer. However, what it boils down to is the story of a great, GREAT love between two people. And who doesn't love a story like this?

THE BEST THING THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN TO YOU!!!

Watch this drama!! trust me!! one of the best kdrama ever with insane chemistry and amazing plotline and the definition of ROM and COM... it has truly every trope ever!! Watch until ep2 ending to be obsessed forever.

"Lovely Runner" is an absolute vibe! If you're into K-dramas, this one is a total must-watch. It’s got everything – romance, drama, and those feel-good moments that just hit different.

First off, the main actors are chef's kiss. They have insane chemistry, and you can totally feel the sparks flying. Their characters are so relatable, and you get super invested in their journey. Like, you’ll be shipping them hard by episode two.

The storyline is on point. It's this perfect mix of emotional highs and lows, with just the right amount of humor to keep things light. The dialogues? So quotable. And the way it’s shot – the cinematography is straight-up stunning. Every scene is like an Instagram-worthy moment.

So yeah, if you’re looking for a drama that’ll give you the best time of your life and keep you binge-watching till 3 AM, "Lovely Runner" is it. It’s not just a show; it’s an experience. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll be thinking about it long after it’s over. Don’t sleep on this one – it’s a whole mood!

The Hilarious, Angsty, Romantic and yet Non-Toxic Drama of this Decade

This drama is no short of getting 10s in every aspect!
Firstly, a huge round of applause and immense appreciation for Kim Bbang, author of the book Tomorrow’s Best. Thank you writer-nim for bringing this beautiful novel into existence because who knows if there would be a loose adaption of this book if you hadn’t written this.
Secondly, the director, scriptwriter, actors, and team, take a bow for stringing together an amazing and enchanting yet detailed narrative that blended romcom, angst, and thriller so beautifully that it managed to always keep the audience on the edge in every episode.
Things that I loved the most in this show [because I don’t have any dislikes for LR!]:
- RSJ was just a boy next door who IS ignored in her original timeline, which made this show instantly different from others. For once I was glad here the guy wasn’t the school/college hunk whom every girl fawned over. It was a coincidence how many of us subeoms never noticed BWS playing insignificant characters[I didn’t notice him until 20th Century Girl!]
- The show proves that audience are craving for non-toxic, positive male leads who don’t just shout and act like they don’t care but then suddenly there’s a change in their character midway. I love the Green Forest RSJ and wish to see more MLs like him. BWS is effortlessly funny and pulls every version of SJ from a school going kid, to a college-goer, to an idol and an actor flawlessly
- KHY did a wonderful job of portraying a fan girl and a lover. I was skeptical about how they would portray IS once she fell in love with SJ, but the transition was beautiful. I loved how KHY brought out the side a fangirl has, the madness, the need to keep up with their idol’s life, and then the devastation of seeing their idol pass away prematurely. Her powerful acting made the transition easy, and when IS lost SJ as her lover, the emotions were completely different.
- The lewserism that SJ oozed is such a treat. It’s not cringey or overdone but done in the right amount. Oh, he is MinMin’s descendant I tell you lol.
- The supporting actors were equally good, especially Baek Inhyuk. I am glad they managed to squeeze in his backstory. Actually, despite less screen time, almost all characters have a good backstory [IDC about taxi driver]
- Special thanks to Gonghee, he is one of the BEST SMLs there is. He wasn’t clingy or even someone who wanted to create misunderstanding. He was there as a supportive friend to the FL even when she was time traveling.
- This show has little to zero misunderstandings and I loved it. I am so glad that there were no severe arguments or fallouts. This show managed to squeeze as many tropes in romcom as can be and still managed to balance them out to not overwhelm the audience.
- The parallels that were shown were so beautifully and seamlessly blended, different yet the same but never boring.
I am so so glad to be a part of this drama while it was on-air. While I am sad, I am also happy that it just pulled off so well. I will miss the madness and obsession I had with this show. Never have I ever been this unhinged over a drama. The theories, the comments, and everything, I will miss this! This show is even more special because of its organic success! The way fate aligned the stars to make this happen is sometimes astonishing. From it being shelved for 3 years because actors rejected the script, BWS taking it up, to no PPL because no one had hope for this drama, not even TvN, and YET this drama emerges victorious, delivering top-notch content from excellent acting to direction to cinematography. Everyone associated with the drama deserves the praise and fame they are getting. Thank you, LR for giving me a wonderful 2 months. Thank you for keeping me hopeful when my life had suddenly gone haywire. I am going to rewatch this show again.

I really don't know what exact feeling am I giving to this drama...

The story is nice and understandable, though I was kinda annoyed by how it goes because she kept coming back and forth through all the episodes. Like I was very confused and was about to drop this drama on episode 4 or something because I was so confused and I felt kinda sorry to Sol too. Like if I was her I'd end my life right away due to confusion that leds to depression....... anyway!
Actually if someone I liked told me that they are annoyed by my existence I'd never show up infront of them ever like EVER.. but this Sunjae mf still insist to follow her anywhere which is very annoying like...
I somehow don't really like the OSTs except 4 songs. ..
But the feeling when they reunited with the memories they had is so heart warming, I didn't cry the whole season but that scene made me very emotional.

Thoughts on the K-Drama Lovely Runner

I just wanted to say how much I absolutely loved Lovely Runner! The story was so captivating, filled with emotion and unforgettable moments. The characters were charming, and the chemistry between the leads was just perfect. Watching each episode was such a joy — I laughed, got emotional, and totally fell in love with them. It’s definitely made its way into my list of favorite dramas!
