THE BEST DRAMA IN MY HEART!!!!! 1000000/10

Lovely Runner has become one of my all-time favorite drama - a rare 10/10 for me! I almost never write reviews (at the time of making this review), but this drama is just that incredible. This is the only drama that I ever give all 10 for all aspects. The acting was phenomenal, with both the female and male leads delivering absolutely outstanding performances. The story had everything: it was funny, heartwarming, touching, heart-pulling, thrilling, and beautifully balanced a mix of rom-com, melodrama, crime, and fantasy.

The soundtrack was so good as well; every song was a masterpiece that perfectly heightened the emotions of each scene, making me feel every moment deeeeeply :( And the best part? The ending was wrapped up flawlessly - satisfying and complete, without any of those rushed or empty feelings that many dramas leave behind.

Lovely Runner is a truly exceptional and well-crafted drama that I can’t recommend enough!

Beautiful and Warm Lovestory

I have no words, it definitely surpassed my expectations (which were already high). Since everyone has a different idea around time travel, these stories is always kinda confusing, but I liked how there seemed to be a theme of fate (good or bad) and Sol just kept bulldozing it until she got the result that she wanted. I loved every single character (minus the stalker of course) and the episodes were so funny, I was smiling the whole last episode. And Sunjae was a lovable loser in love, Sol was really his one and only. They were such a cute couple, not too much angst to be honest. I loved the OST (Sudden Shower ❤️). Overall this was such a warm love story, never got bored or wanted it to end.

They killed it!!

I don't know why people are being so mean to this drama. I mean it was a perfect rom com for me . It had perfect mystery and twists and turns. I personally loved it. If you think that fl character was not good or just dumb then you definitely don't like rom coms the way I like them. FL and ML acting was really good and right on point. The way she tries really hard to go back in time or the way fl takes the advice that sun jae gave her to live. I feel that's how the rom coms should be made because every other drama has same story line poor fl and rich ceo type ML. I mean it's so overrated these days. I personally think that if you are thinking of watching this drama then go for it you'll definitely not regret.

I always score a drama by deducting half a point from the max score for everything that I might consider a flaw to the drama. I came out of it thinking there were no flaws for me, the music was good, the chemistry between the main leads and cast was organic and sparkly, which allowed the romance to flourish.

The character growth was brilliant, particularly with how the FL became such an endearing and benevolent character, when the series started I was a little taken aback by her devotion to Ryu Sun Jae and brushed it off as a cringey K-pop stan but then you come to understand she's like that because she sees him as her saviour and how it becomes her mission to protect him. Kim Hye Yoon's performance was utterly enchanting for me in this drama and her character trajectory in the sense that I didn't like her at the start but then became completely enamoured by the end of it, which reminded me of her performance in Extraordinary You (which I can't believe it's been over 5 years since it came out).

Byeon Woo Seok just reminds me of a younger Park Seo Joon, he just does for me and loved his performance and the chemistry he had with Kim Hye Yoon.

I liked the fact that the time machine G-Shock watch wasn't just a one and done gimmick, the FL used it multiple times to change her and Sun Jae's fate eventually making an incredible difficult decision, you feel for her so much because of her plight. I am aware that some are a little uncomfortable in how she uses the time machine but I think the writers wanted to skip the explanation to it and so we are left with the possibility is all she needs to do is think of a time period to go back and not an exact date and time.

I watched it over the course of a week, mainly 2 to 3 episodes a day and I'm wishing it was longer. I absolutely adore this drama and I am giving it a 10/10, I think this was one of the best dramas of 2024.

Dramas that Lovely Runner reminded me of were of course the brilliant Twinkling Watermelon and My Perfect Stranger.

This drama is definitely not one to watch whilst multi-tasking because I reckon you will miss out on minute details, I never do it because I prefer to watch the drama and that alone but my little gremlin of a sister watches a drama by doing multiple other things at the same time and even skims through an episode (blasphemy, lol).

The romance here is so good, and so strong, I could overlook a lot . . .

Byeon Woo-seok as Ryu Sun-jae steals the show as the ideal traditional romantic male. Putting our main character's safety above his own, being strong, handsome, and famous while still earnest, honest and sentimental. Kim Hye-yoon as Im Sol has great chemistry with him, but her character and acting is a bit one note on its own.

This drama will go down as one of my all time favorite romances, but unfortunately not one of my favorite shows overall. The premise of a 'groundhogs day' is somewhat unique to start, but there's a lot here rehashed from the K-Drama plot bin including serial killers, slapstick comedy about working class people, etc. as the scenario repeats, and repeats, and repeats it starts to wear thin.

BUT YET! I could watch Ryu Sun-Jae being in love with Im Sol for 50 episodes if need be, that's how good the romance is here. It's worth a watch despite the flaws. Music is strong and there's some scenes worth a rewatch.

Easily one of my favorites

I've watched K-Drama consistently as far back as Full House (with Rain and Song Hye Kyo) - I have to say, Lovely Runner has become one of my absolute favorites.

If you're the type of watcher that likes to overanalyze plots, is extremely bothered by 'plotholes' that arise because of the time slip concept — forgetting that time travel is preposterous to begin with — and the type that needs a back story for every single character that appears, including the villain (how many psychopaths are just what they are because they are? Answer: a lot), then some aspects of the drama will bother you.

I and a lot of others, found it refreshing, extremely charming, and difficult to part with the characters, just because they have grown so much on us, and we rooted so much for Sol and Sunjae's love to come true. I never felt such a satisfying end to a K-drama I loved all throughout years of watching as I did with this one. I have also never had such bad post-drama depression lol. I literally can't watch anything else even 2 weeks after it's ended because I'm so hungover on Lovely Runner.

Now, there are a lot of recently posted negative reviews for the drama. While I can get it may not be everyone's cup of tea — if you're reading this review, go give it a try anyway. Don't let reviews dictate what you might feel about a drama. After all, at the end of the day, it's all about personal preference.

IMSOL CHARACTER IS NOT ANNOYING!

She's doing anything that she could to make everyone's life better, and not only focus on Sunjae only like yall try to said. Girl preventing her house from burning and saving her mom's hand from getting burned, treating her mom better than her old self before, making his brother get the lottery so that he can have a better life, asking Tae Sung to focus on his study and not being a bad boy as he used to be, like cuz of Im Sol's advice, boy graduated high school and became a policeman, and obviously saving Sunjae's dad from becoming depressed from losing his one and only son yet yall saying her character is too much, annoying or only focus on a man lol what a joke.
PLUS
I won't tolerate any slander against Kim Hye-yoon, either her character or her personal life personality. She's endured a lot of mistreatment and misogyny throughout this drama. BWS solo stans have been trash-talking her since the show started when their oppa was unknown in the entertainment industry, while Hye-yoon is already recognized as a rising star and being given future Chungmuro nicknames already. It's ridiculous that his new fans belittle her, saying BWS is too good for her. If yall just wanna watch cuz of him,then just shut ur fucking mouth and watch quietly no need to talk trash about hy. This drama is told from Im Sol's perspective, as the title (Piggyback Sunjae and Run) literally coming from her fanclub nicknames,so of course she'll protect her love interest no matter what happens. Also, both her character and Sunjae are sunshine and bubbly, yet people find her annoying while yall worshipped and idolizing him lol.

Sunjae character is annoying too, always prioritise his lover without thinking his own health and his dad's advice, doing anything for a girl she just met, ignoring everyone advice just for a sake of a girl, always being an overdependence towards imsol, lack of personal growth but of course yall not gonna say anything about that since the thing yall care is hot man only.

Cute watch, angsty but not the best in the crime part

I am some one that drops dramas (especially romcoms) once it gets boring, pretty easily. But i did not drop this, and that itself says a lot about this drama.

Just finished. I personally liked it. There are flaws but not enough to make me drop it. Maybe i liked it cause this was my comeback drama after i didn't watch any new dramas for almost a year.
The crime part did not really felt like it fit in the story. The characters especially ml and fl could have had a depth, it felt like fl and ml's entire life revolved around each others. Fl was disable and time travelled back when did not have disability, this could have been a good opportunity for her to try going in depth about enjoying her life with the working legs she had but instead she went after ml. Same with ml, we could have gone in depth about his passion for swimming, he literally almost got to join the olympics for god's sake! but no. he just gave up and went after his crush. The killer didn't made me feel menacing because we don't even go in depth about the killer (what he does, how he does this, what was his life before, how did he started killing etc.

But all that said , the acting was good. No one else can act like Im sol other than kim hye yoon. Same with byeon woo seok as sun jae. Their romance was too sweet to not do "awww" especially with the ost.

THE OSTs ! for some reason Spring snow by 10CM makes me cry in a good way? every time even if the song is cute idk why. same for Like a dream by MINNE and A day by Jongho from ateez's vocals. 10/10! Also Byeon Woo Seok is a great singer.

why did the killer just died? They killed him off after all that in the first 5 minutes of the final ep....makes no sense. He is the main villain and he just got hit and died? Could have done better in that.

good watch ,made me cry in the end, will only rewatch for nostalgia that's it.
