it worked, I watched the first two episodes about 5 times I feel like I know what's going to happen every minute and couldn't wait for the rest. I cried
like a little kid (especially in the last two episodes
but otherwise I've been wondering since the first episode what it's like beautiful XD), she laughed until I couldn't stop laughing breathe and as I say with actors who are great so I'm telling you, this cast was so damn good. real, everyone's character fit so well that it They just WERE THEM. This kdrama deserves it much much greater response, because for me it's "one of the most beautiful series I've ever seen" I actually had the feeling for a moment that there I stand with the main character and experience it all with I cursed her once for her decision and reaction in one situation but in another I of course there was support xd. In life I will protect you next to you from now on. I screamed sm in episode 15, seriously, this is one of the most beautiful series and I hope everyone doesn't forget it. And Im Sol's grandma (Mal Ja if I remember correctly) said something amazing "even if the brain doesn't remember memories, they are hidden in the soul. Where else would they go?" Or everyone's beloved little brother Im Sol (I think it was Geum xd) "when you get something you always have to lose something, happiness always costs something". And of course we can't forget the beautiful ost that I listen to day and night THANK YOU. Thank you so much to everyone who participated in this series, who even came up with something like this because it's really wonderful and I'm extremely grateful to them. They did a great job!

what is a plot
this drama was not extraordinary by any means. there was so much missing in the plot nor there was any reasoning behind anything that was happening yet i found myself drawn to the amazing chemistry of the main leads. if the cast wasn't doing a good job, i might've dozed off and skipped this.so why is my rating 8? i'm guilty and say that this drama ignited the hopeless romantic in me. that lingering hope of fate bringing you close to the person meant for you type of deal. i was squealing, smiling and laughing throughout this drama. there were sweet moments, comical situations and just scenes that were clearly filler scenes but I still found it enjoyable because i found this drama to be something like a compilation of everything at once. while some dramas that tries hard to bring in every single genre possible, somehow, lovely runner worked well for me with its comedy, thriller, and romance. kim tae sung, in hyeok and sun jae trio and sun jae x tae sung duo; such a fun combination of characters.
even though i'm fond of this drama, i can't deny how flawed it is. there was little to no explanation for its time travel, the abrupt jumping back and forth, flashbacks and the villain feels likes an annoying hindrance to the story instead of an important feature to the plot. heck, what even was the plot?
despite the incoherence of the holes in the story, i would fall in love with this drama again just like sun jae and im sol.

a love that transcends time and space
god this was honestly one of the best kdramas i've watched in so long i genuinely don't think anything i can say can even come close to explaining how pure, heartfelt, beautiful and emotional this drama was. everything was amazing i'm still in awe. this deserves all the hype it gets and even more. i'm not here to write a long critical review, i just need everyone to watch this and experience this drama because wow i dont think ill ever get over im sol and sunjaeWas this review helpful to you?

A truly well executed time travel kdrama, way way above Twinkling Watermelon.
This is the best kdrama I've seen since a very long time. (probably since It's Okay to Not Be Okay)The only serious problem I have with it is the villain's lack of personality/backstory and how they just dealt with him under 3 minutes in the finale. I could nitpick If I really wanted to, but I fail to see the point.
I always say that explaining the inner workings of time travel always ruins immersion in time travel shows, luckily in this one they have not even tried. (it's better to keep the unexplainable unexplained)
Everything else is pretty good, the cast is great, the chemistries are great. The romance is up there with the best, there are countless very fluffy and or very touching moments. Love triangle haters are safe to enjoy this as well, because the secondary love interest is weak like a straw. The ending is a banger too.
Anyway 9/10 seems fair to me. It's not perfect or anything, for example Someday or One Day is better in this genre, but I'm very happy that Korea can still deliver something of this caliber, since it's been so long..

A truly lovely experience
*Very slight spoilers ahead*Ahhh, Lovely runner. You know those series you begin to watch and from the very first episode you KNOW you are going to love IF the writers don't f**k you up? Yep, this series was one of those for me.
While the story does lack in some regions here and there and there are just a bunch of repetitive and annoying things that happen quite a bit that made me audibly groan, overall its a very vary enjoyable watch. All the actors, the music and the good ending really did give this series an extra star from my original rating. Never have I ever swooned so much and genuinely loved a character as much as I love Ryu Sun Jae, the greenest of all green flags, this man is a freaking forest. Byeon Woo Seok did a fantastic job portraying him.
This has the same vibes of Twinkling Watermelon (though that one had a stronger storyline). So if you're looking for a heartwarming romance with just a sprinkle of fantasy that will make you giggle and kick your feet like a little girl, definitely go for it. The hype for this is truly worth it!

Perfect Summer Binge!
I started watching this just yesterday and have successfully binged all 9 episodes that have come out (with the 10th one on its way today (who cares about studies)). Throughout this, I was kicking my feet, giggling like a schoolgirl, so invested that I forgot that sleep is a biological need. Nevertheless, I thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed it. Warning: it will make you feel very lonely if you are single (because it happened to me too). Even though Hye Yoon looks like she is getting typecast after her role in Extraordinary You (but I know she is a very versatile actor), I still enjoyed her character in this! Woo Seok on the other hand I've not seen enough of since 20th Century Girl (brb crying) so it's always a pleasure to see him and hear him. My only concern is if he is a good actor, which will not be established until I see him in a few more roles. Right now, he is decent and will make you fall in love with him (but I attribute that more to the character and how well Woo Seok has portrayed it - the role really suits him (I haven't watched Strong Girl Nam Soon so don't come at me)). The drama is also a pleasure to watch because all of the cast is so good-looking! But seriously how are you scolding someone for not sleeping/having dark circles under their eyes when I can see that their skin is shining brighter than my future???? Enough nagging. They do discuss heavier themes which I always like but it's more a swoon-worthy drama than a slice of life. You will not regret watching it. Fingers crossed for a happy ending!!Was this review helpful to you?
Steadfast love transcending time itself
I almost didn't watch this because of the haters in the reviews but I'm glad I didn't read too many and gave this title a shot. If you love the ride or die, steadfast love then you'll love this. There were so many things I liked about this drama that it made everything else I found I didn't like completely forgettable within the best 30 minutes of the episode. I love the way this writer writes. The way she wrote the different timelines. How it didn't feel overwhelming to keep track of everything, and how the sorrow never stayed for too long, because it was so stupid in your in-your-face funny way. Which is what I like. I loved all the integration between families and friendship and how all those subplots could never overshadow the main couple's story, which usually happens a lot. I love how when they're high schoolers, she keeps cute and innocent, but once they step into adulthood, you can feel the change in their chemistry and how they seem to love each other more deeply and we're more desperate for each other.LIKES:
- ep 1 was amazing, so hooked, and production looks just wow.
-I love that there was a really cute bromance between the guy who was supposed to be the second lead. Instead of putting hatred between them, it was more like friendship
- only ep 2 and I'm laughing so much my sister had to come tell me to shut up
- by ep 5 you couldn't get me to stop watching it if you tried. It's SO GOOD. This has the potential to be one of my favorites of all time
-The way they revealed the story, like a slow unveiling of a masterpiece.
-The concept is fresh and well done
- They always have them masterfully back together. Less cheesy, more realistic, and like something that could possibly happen if two people love each other. Not the time travel part but how they're always back to together.
- I thought they were going to erase the last 13 episodes from his mind and start anew, but I was so wrong, and for that I'm thankful -we were FULLY rewarded for all the heartache and pain from episodes 1 to 14. We got two full episodes of resolutions and love. It was beautiful.
DISLIKES:
-dint have much because the writer always corrected the things I found wrong with an episode. Not much to complain about.
- I was anxious thinking the bad guy would come back because of how quickly that was resolved. For a man we spent 15 episodes fearing, his end was pathetic and too quick. But I'm also appreciative of that cause I really didn't want to go through more hard times.
Overall, if you love romance and suspense put together and time travel well written not to tear your heart out but make you happy then this is the one. I came into it with no pre-existing feelings towards the main ML as an actor, neither loved nor hated him for being overrated or whatever, and I think that helped me stay subjective. I purely came and stayed for the plot and their love. And I was not disappointed.

Please give it a shot
I am SO surprised by the reviews about Lovely Runner on this website. I LOVED the show and I was obsessed a really long time by the storyline and the character. This story shows what unconditionnal love is and that's so nice to watch. I wasn't bored a second in the story and the romance is amazing to watch, the chemistery and the humor is on point : I laughed and I cried, A LOT.The musics are amazing, even people who dislike the show said so, that you can trust, but it litterally broke my heart seing so many bad review, maybe that's juste taste because that show wasn't bad at all for me and is easily on my top 3 of kdrama. Even if I haven't watch a lot of them, I'm not an expert but I had a really really really great time watching this, it made me feel so great and I hope it'll work for you too.
Props to the actor for their amazing delivery of the story and for making my heart so happy while I was watching this.

A fun watch, but not a romcom
This was a great drama, but it was not a romcom. Yes, they most certaintly wanted us to have fun watching, and I did. There were a ton of laugh out loud moments, but this drama had a serious tone and pacing problem. The quick cuts from comedy to tragedy got dizzying and by the end I was just skipping the silly bits so I could get back to the main plot. And the main plot is rewlly convoluted on its own, I’ve been watching dramas since 2014 and I couldn't guess where it was going because it seemingly went in nonsensical directions just to try and elongate the episodes and keep it fresh. Again, I liked this drama but it could have been 4 episodes shorter. The male lead was wonderful though, he was everything the story needed him to be at any given time, and he had no issues with his sweet and cute scenes. It was just annoying how much he didn't want to show the female lead how much he loved her, again this set the plot back by a lot. This story is totally male lead falls first and hard, but it's not really an older woman/younger male tag, which is where I found this. There's time travel involved but when she's in the past they are the same age in reality. And that brings me to the female lead, I did like her, but not as much as the male lead. She was very passionate but didn't consider the male lead's feelings as much as she should have, causing them years of heartbreak and loneliness. And also, let's be clear that these two look their age. There's nothing wrong with that but all the characters looked like they were in their late 20s to mid 30s and it was not believable seeing them dressed up as high schoolers and then as college freshman.Overall I really did like this drama and if there had been a bit more editing and awareness of tone shifts, this would have been a 10. Sadly, I'll give it a 9 instead.

A touching, beautifully acted romance that lingers long after it ends.
Lovely Runner is a heartfelt fantasy romance where a devoted fan travels back in time to save her favorite idol, only to find herself entangled in a tender, time-crossing love story. Kim Hye-yoon and Byeon Woo-seok deliver phenomenal chemistry, balancing humor, warmth, and bittersweet emotion. With its mix of youthful romance, healing, and fate-driven storytelling, the drama is both addictive and moving. Was this review helpful to you?
