This show is one of the best, dont listen to the bots.

While I can agree that this kdrama might not be a favorite for others. It deserves the hype and high rating. I was surprsied to find all of the top reviews negative when I find the show a justifiably great drama. The acting is amazing, I haven't gushed and swooned over a male lead like this since strong girl bong soon. The story and plot kept me hooked throughout. I genuiley liked all of the side characters and didn't find myself just skimming over their screen time. The kdrama got me emotional and is truly in my top 5 for its sentimental value, acting and film quality, and insane chemistry. I didn't find the whole falling for a fan thing weird at all because that isnt what happened. If I hadn't already seen the show and saw the comments rating this a 5 and below then I probably would've never watched it which would've been such a shame considering how much I genuinely love it. It beats true beauty by miles in terms of every category and true beauty is something i love and have rewatched multiple times. So I implore you, please watch it

Rewatch every single episode

With other dramas it's often like when you've finished one you think it was great but I don't know if I'll watch it again because it would be boring - and with lovely runner it's quite the opposite after each episode you want to go back to the beginning and actually knowing all that we know today you look at the first episodes differently - feelings are stronger because you know that behind every song, phone, gesture there's some story...

You need to have a really low standards or be a 13 years old girl to like it.

I honestly tried to finish it, but I couldn't: every 15min something so stupid or cringe happened that I closed my laptop. It didn't evoke emotions which I usually feel when watching romance genre - everything seemed so unnatural and far-fetched that it was hard to sympathize with the main characters.
FL is annoying and extremely stupid. She makes illogical things all the time and continues sending contradicting signals to ML.
ML is confused by this and cannot pull his shit together to tell her what he feels towards FL.

I gave it a score 1.0 just to counterbalance tons of schoolgirls (the target audience of this show) who gave it 10 in order to save you from wasting time. Otherwise it is a solid 5.0! There are so many better shows than this...

cute show that manages to stick the landing

Lovely Runner was such a joy to watch, especially in the era of kdramas getting dark and gritty or just plain silly/cheesy. I had such a fun time and was so happy that this drama managed to stick the landing (something that seems to be rare these days). I was excited every week to watch the new episodes and honestly, while it did hit a little bit of a lull for me in the middle, it was still really good.
I will say that my only beef is that I wanted Sun Jae to still be part of Eclipse :(
Anyway, what a cute show.

Don't understand the hate in the comments?

I went into this drama based on the 9.0 score it has on MDL, but was a little dubious because the written reviews were so bad... it almost made me not watch it.
This drama is a great watch, a nice script/story that maybe deserved better execution, but all in all, what's not to enjoy about our leads?
They had chemistry, they acted well, their storyline was good... what is so wrong?

Well, I'm not going to lie, there are quite a few plot holes, the time travel could have been done a lot better.... The killer, coming out of nowhere and following through time was really badly done, but the essence of the drama, the connection between 2 people who love each other, and always find ways to bump into one another regardless of the year (back or forward) was a nice watch.

Best drama of 2024!!!!

As you can see other peoples review on this drama i don't think this is DISAPPOINTMENT,OVERHYPED or anything?
For me this is very cute and best drama of 2024!!! This was my second time i was watching a time travelling drama and i really enjoy time travelling dramas like twinkling watermelon was my first time travelling drama i was very excited this time also and it turn out wayyy to good than i expected!!

ACTING/CASTING: The acting of cast was very good and accurate. The cast was very good like main lead as woo seok was very perfect for type of sunjae character he was prefect and female lead as kim hyeon was also prefect. The other actors acting was also very goooddd!!!!

OST: I don't notice OSTs very much but the OST was very gooodd like at point!!

STORYLINE: Storyline was likeee oh my goddd it was very GOOODDDDDDD!! In a type of time travelling drama this storyline is veryyy gooddd but i cuted 1 mark for story i'll tell you why in the end.

There is a idol who is stressed and suffering from depression but looked fine infront of his fans but one day he was very stressed and then he sucide.

Then there is this girl who is his big fan she consider him as her husband but then when she heard he sucided and she is on wheelchair i forget to mention this and he died on 1 january 12:00 she was crying and somehow she is travelled to 2021. She is in his school trying her best to get along with him and trying her best to save him from dying.

Now I will tell you why 1 cuted mark. I cuted it because in some scenes are too bland and simple that i thought they turn out to be above than my expectations but they didn't. But it's fine the whole drama was very gooodddddd as i explained earlier. It is a must try if you are someone who is in time travelling genre. It is amazing trust meee😭🫶🏻

Excellent show

Lovely Runner" is a very good and excellent drama; the best thing about it is the acting. It's full of emotions. From the beginning till now, every scene is beautiful. We're at the 11th episode, but there hasn't been a single scene that's boring or feels like a side character is dragging the story. The story is progressing smoothly, and the love story in it is quite engaging.

I was pleasantly surprised that the romcom and time travel aspects went well together, but the serial killer scenes were a bit off due to the abrupt shift in tone- the scenes would go from warm and sunny to cold and overcast with menacing background music in one instant. The villain was also flat and caricature-like, but given that this was just a plot device to keep the leads apart longer, I didn’t expect an interesting antagonist as if I were watching an actual thriller.

It wasn’t a deal breaker though, and I found myself enjoying this for the most part. The female lead was spirited and charismatic, the male lead was lovable and warm hearted. They had a cute, adorable chemistry.

I also like the creative way the drama used time travel, like when the female lead blurted out spoilers to be able to pause time so she could get from one location to another. Im Sol's determination to protect the male lead, Sun Jae, was endearing and admirable, but it could get frustrating at times; the results of her efforts would tell her time and again that trying to change certain events would only make things worse, but she kept making the same mistake. Then again, I understood why. If you knew your loved one would end up getting murdered, I guess you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from trying to prevent it either, even if your efforts were in vain.

This is a female centric show, but I don’t think of this as a flaw, more like a preference. If you want to see something that has an equal focus on both the leads, or is male centric, this may not be your cup of tea. Most of the story is from the female lead’s point of view and you only get bits of Sun Jae’s perspective later. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having a preference for one trope or the other, but if one automatically dislikes a drama because of that one aspect/trope, it might be more practical to just choose another drama that has what they like. There is no point in watching a sports drama if you hate sports, anymore than it being counterproductive to watch a detective story if you hate that genre. I have my own set of preferences and tropes which I normally go for, but if another drama didn’t have what I liked but was still good, I wouldn’t rate it badly either.

Regardless of a drama being female centric, equally focused, multi-perspective, or male-centric…I want a drama to be good at what it does (be good at what it's trying to do), entertain me, be fast paced and have likable characters.

I think Lovely Runner succeeds for the most part. The plot didn’t slow down from beginning to end and while the leads were an odd couple- not just in terms of how they looked together but also how opposite their personalities were (manic, headstrong female lead, shy and vulnerable male lead) they were likeable and sweet together.

My main gripe is that I dislike the drama's over-the-top, slapstick humor. I found myself rolling my eyes at some of the jokes and gags, which were exaggerated. The male lead’s father getting stuck in the bathroom for a whole day because he was too weak to open the door... the second couple (the female lead’s brother and her best friend), were excruciating* in their courtship. They would jump into ponds in plain sight in the middle of the their school campus to avoid being seen, hide in lockers and cabinets, talk in extremely high pitched voices even a deaf person could hear…the toilet humor incident they had which got the best friend to like the brother...I felt that these scenes were plain unfunny and just added filler. They did more to detract from the drama and did nothing to enhance it.

The female lead herself, while spirited and charismatic, was a bit grating at first; she was way too over-the-top for me (shouting at the top of her lungs, etc), especially during her “high school” days, however, she gets better and mellows down during her college years. I don’t particularly care for her voice. I was trying to pinpoint what exactly bugged me about it. I’ve watched many an anime and asian drama with an annoyingly voiced female lead (ex: Orchid in Love Between Fairy and Devil, Sang Zhi from Hidden Love, etc) but they didn’t bother me…finally I realized that it’s because these female leads have high pitched girly voices which fits their age/character type.

The actress playing Im Sol has an old lady voice which doesn't sync with her appearance. It was like watching a 70 year old woman (with a syrupy sweet voice) talk in the body of a 30 something year old. The scene were Im Sol dresses in a monk’s costume with her face covered where she warns Sun Jae not to become a swimmer…I could really imagine an old woman as the embodiment of that voice.

The actress can’t help it though. It's her natural speaking voice and that aside, both she and the actor did fine; their performances weren’t extraordinary or anything like that. I could easily imagine another actress or actor playing them, but they delivered well and entertainingly. The rest of the cast were alright. There’s also a love triangle here, but it’s mostly played for laughs. I think the story does best when it focuses on the leads.

"A Rollercoaster of Romance and Suspense"

"Lovely Runner" is hands down one of the most romantic dramas I've ever watched. The overflowing love between Sunjae and Sol is just too adorable to handle. Sunjae's constant devotion to Sol, never letting her slip from his mind, melts my heart every time.

And let's talk about Sunjae's second-hand embarrassment – it's like watching a cute puppy trying to impress his crush. Every awkward moment he faces just adds to the charm of the show. And the comedy scenes with the whole family? Pure gold. I couldn't stop laughing at their antics.
It was a decent watch, offering a strong chemistry between the lead actors and a fair share of romance. For viewers craving sweet romance, it's a perfect fit. However, it didn't quite hold onto intensity and suspense like some other dramas. What I predicted in the fourth or fifth episode turned out to be the main plot twist.

But what really surprised me was how second lead steps up to save Sunjae – talk about unexpected heroics.

From high school sweethearts to a married couple, "Lovely Runner" takes you on a journey filled with love, laughter, and a hint of danger. It's a must-watch for anyone who enjoys a good romantic drama with too much romance 😜

SUNJAE YAAAA

Seriously, every second I watched this drama made me cure my depression, Im Sol and Sunjae's personality and seeing how one is more cheerful and outgoing while the other is more closed... THIS CONTRAST IS WONDERFUL AND I LOVE HOW IT WAS IMPLEMENTED.
I must mention some flaws in the drama, especially regarding the power of freezing time and how it was poorly used!! Im Sol could have escaped from that killer so much more easily, I don't get WHY SHE REMAIN SILENT!!😭 Also, the time travel issue was a bit confusing from my point of view, but the other factors incredibly raised my average for this drama.
A light, cute drama with a touching romance was definitely Lovely Runner for me!!🥺 So I end up giving 10/10 👅.

Special

Lives up to the hype. I'm glad they got their happy ending, watching it was really an adventure because there's so much that happened in those 16 episodes. I loved Like a Dream by Minnie - really made the story feel more heartbreaking ofcourse alongside Sudden Shower. Also, both acted their hearts out. The story was good but it was made even more special because of their chemistry. I keep thinking they really suit each other so well whilst watching this and also the fact that they look SO alike.
I don't think I've seen a drama couple look more alike than they do???

So yeah if you're wondering whether to watch it, you should give it a try. Also, adult Im Sol looked so stunning! I loved her hairstyles and outfits so much, I do't know I couldn't help but take notice of that.

I'm not one into rewatching anymore hence the rewatch rating but this was GOOD.

A Time-Travel Romance That’s Both Fun and Heartfelt

Lovely Runner is a delightful mix of time-travel fantasy and romantic drama, offering a story that feels both magical and relatable. While the premise plays with destiny and second chances, what makes it shine is the sincerity of its emotions—capturing the sweetness of young love while also exploring deeper themes of loss, hope, and perseverance.

The lead actors bring the story to life with natural chemistry that makes every interaction feel heartfelt and genuine. Their performances balance humor, tenderness, and emotional vulnerability in a way that resonates long after the episode ends. The pacing is engaging, weaving together moments of lighthearted fun with touching, sometimes bittersweet turns.

If you’re looking for a romance that combines charm, laughter, and heartache with a touch of fantasy, Lovely Runner is a warm, emotional journey worth taking.
