first thai bl [small spoilers]
im gonna say if i didn't watch this with oomf i would fall asleep between scenes. i know they want to marinate the scene but im too tired to let it marinate lol. storywise, its good. i love everything linking from past to present. THE LESBIANS WERE THE BEST PART OF THE SERIES. period. the acting is unserious at times but its fun to make fun of it looooool. my charnjet! I DID NOT EXPECT A SEX SCENE LIKEEEEEE what happened to kiss, hug and cuddle after confession. master and khem's trope is so bad. i hate it. I LOATHE HIM but character development (slight) lessen it. how can i call namping baby when hes 5'9 😭😭😭 but still baby ehe.Was this review helpful to you?
Best one in 2025 so far!!
I absolutely loved this series, it wasn’t just about romance, it was about family, friendship, the struggles and pain you go through and the people that are their for you through thick and thin, I fear some of these reviews are misleading lmaoo, I swear give it a try the chemistry between the two couples are divine and the yearning between khem and master are just amazing, just everything about this series gave me chills, I’m sooo sad it’s over but I’m so happy I was able to watch such a masterpiece!!!Was this review helpful to you?
One of the phenomenal and intriguing Thai dramas I have watched
It's been awhile I had to pause and think before writing a review. A BL in horror genre with one of the finest plots and mind blowing acting. The drama left me astonished, in a awe.The best part of the drama is certainly the plot. It is in one word chef kiss. Well written and well progressed storyline with no plotholes. Every character was worth the presence, every scene was apt. It told a story not just for the sake of the romanticism of a Shaman and a boy but a true story of lives and that made us all get absorbed into it. Each character felt real and not performative. I loved how every character is introduced with a little backstory, that made us feel the presence of them even more. The thread connecting all the characters, the past and the present is so beautifully done. A point to be mentioned, even with such intriguing plot with so much happening the story never fell flat and never lost it momentum and most of all it never felt confusing.
The cinematography is a 10/10. Not even a second spend on something useless that is not adding anything to the drama. The direction was captivating, making the ambience feel like we are there and part of it. The cultural aspect of Shamanism and Buddhist ritual shown throughout the show is amazing. A research done well. They had a good budget and made sure to utilize it well. The managed to keep the pace really well with great camerawork and direction.
Acting wise I had to search how experienced the actors and saw they are fairly new and that made me realize just how skillful each of them are to portray such characters with so much fluidity. Namping's previous role is so different from thsi one and the way he managed to transform himself into the character of Khem which is soft and feminine made me appreciate him so much. If I didn't see the behind the scenes I would have thought Keng is actually a very intimidating person because not even for a moment I felt he and Master were two different character. Firstone and Tle embraced their characters so well and added such a big dimension. Phi Green is a phenomenal actress. Even the most trivial characters were played well by the cast.
Khemjira is definitely going to be remembered as one of the best BLs of the decade.

"Bound by fate, kept by love, strengthened by never giving up."
My 2nd time writing a review cuz this series was an absolute masterpiece.Everything about this series was just perfect. The story, actors, ost's,ending, and so on.The production was perfect they picked the best actors suitable for the characters in the novel.Something that made me really surprised was that even the characters of their past life was soo similar to their present self. They did a good job picking the cast. The story was soo damn good like you can never get bored. It was never dragging and everything was going in a perfect pace.It did perfect justice to the novel. The NC scenes was an art on their own..Everything was just beautiful.
The music has its own fan base..The opening and the ending osts ongg it makes me feel something.
Everything was just soo perfect about this series...Probably one of the best BLs out there and I will rewatch this fosho..

The best bl drama I’ve ever watched
Completely deserves all the hype!! The plot is peak, acting is peak and I love all the effect, places where the recorded and all the cinematography. The chemistry isn’t much strong but it’s there, I love the slow burn. Everything about this drama is so good and defintely worth a try! The drama wasn’t suppossed to be for real scary so I won’t be one of those people that complain about it. Khemjira, Kengnamping I love you. Domundi defintely did a good job with this one!! I want to watch it for the first tike againWas this review helpful to you?
Started okayish, and then got better and better...Keng will just take your breath away!
I'm beyond floored by Keng in this - he's plain divine...watch this, even if you like nothing else in this drama, though there are lots to love actually...it's worth watching just for him!BL-needle score- 7.5 Reasonably high BL-ness
I had been waiting for Khemjira since the time I watched Keng in POaradise of Thorns...loved his portrayal there and have also been loving his singing...and then this dropped...NGL, I was and am still not convinced by Keng-Namping chemistry and this drama started slow on me, despite Keng...but it just got better and better and gave me enough reasons to watch it beyond just Keng....All the actors are doing a great job and the characters are all quite relatable (other than the fantasy elements off course)...and the entire caste is doing a fantastic job in making this fantasy-horror tale believable and enjoyable. The costumes, make-up, set design, cinematography, and art direction has been really good too, so is the coloring.
I loved Jet-Charn's pair....Tle and First are doing such a wonderful job with their act ...also love Jet and Khem's friendship....Green as the chief villain Ramphueng is also doing a great job...also all the other characters, immaterial to how much screen time they got, have been really good..grandma, the villagers, all of them....
But the best thing about this show is without doubt 'Por Kru' - Keng Harit!!...whether it is his acting, or his singing and how scorching he looks all through...he has you eating out of his hands!! Even if you watch this drama just to gawk at him, it's worth it!!

Horror, mystery, ghosts from the past and more!
This is by far the best Thai drama I have watched in terms of cinematography! I just can't seem to get enough of this series! 1 ep every Saturday is making me go crazy lolWe need all eps ASAP
Ep 8:
OMG after the drought of 7 episodes we FINALLY got to see the most awaited Master and Khem kissing scenes! They really went all out with this ep! We got kisses, hugs, secret looks, NCs and then we got the Horror cliffhanger 😭😭😭😭 mannnnn what a way to end this episode! Master and Khem had one blissful night together and now they are gonna have brush with death DAMN!!! The scene with Grandma Si was so terrifying OMG 😲 I screamed!
This episode was really a good mix of comedy, romance and horror 👍👍
Ep 7:
I thought I had seen the best of Khemjira, BUT Episode 7 tops my list rn! Wow! Just WOW!! EVERYTHING ABT THIS EP was ART! Poetry!! Everything!
From the performance regarding the rebellion, the soudtracks that really enhances the vibes of the storytelling, the dancing and the way that evil ghost was dealt with by the ghost of holy ppl! Lovely!
And then we got Jet and Charn going all out with the NC scenes! It was so beautifully done! The lighting, the expressions and the blissful looks on both their faces! Wow!
And lastly our Master trying to control his feelings and failing, and almost KISSING Khem and then that cliffhanger ending! Damn!
Now I gotta suffer for another week! 😭😭
Ep 4:
We finally got the backstory of Khemmika and Mr Yod and Wat. Poor Mr Yod really did suffer alot 😢 Even though he had a chance for reincarnation he insyead tied his soul to Khem and watched over him for so many years 😭
I hope his next life is a peaceful one.
Our handsome Shaman is slowly but definitely falling for Khem!! I can see it!
Ep 1:
Fantastic first episode! The elements of horror, the bgm, and the way the story is unfolding between the past and present! Really liked it all!
Ever since the first trailer came out I have been waiting for this series to release! And with so many handsome faces 😍 what's not to love!
The eerieness of the first few minutes really had me on the edge haha! Its not something for the faint hearted
Tbh I found the pacing to be good, not too slow and not too fast either.
I'm trying to find the actual book to read, while waiting for the next episode to be released!
Hopefully we get a lot of BTS episodes to make up for the wait!

Horror + Romance = Perfection
This show is a MASTERPIECE! I knew nothing about any of the actors going into this, and honestly didn't know much about the plot but BOY am I glad I decided to watch it. This is genuinely one of the best Thai shows I have ever seen.Khemjira (Namping) is living with a curse - at the age of 21, he will die. He's always been able to see ghosts, and they seem to be getting more malicious as he gets closer to 21. His best friend Jet decides to take Khem to see the shaman of the village he grew up in. This shaman Pharan (Keng) is reluctant to help Khem, especially because Khem coming to the village means he brought all kinds of bad energy and karma with him. Eventually, Pharan agrees to help, but the ghost behind this curse refuses to let go to events of the past, and is determined to kill Khemjira, even if it means taking down everyone else too.
I LOVED this show. The horror elements are SO good, and even though a lot of people wanted to watch for the romance between Pharan and Khem, I think the curse plotline was the highlight of this show (but the romance was INCREDIBLE too). I quite like a show where the romance is secondary to the main plot, and that's exactly what this show delivered. Plus, I'm a sucker for past lives, and the way this show tied in past life/soulmate elements with the horror elements was FANTASTIC! I genuinely cannot recommend this show enough. It has something for everyone, and manages to balance out the darker elements with fun happy moments. The side couple manages to stay just as interesting as the main couple, and adds a wonderful extra little flavor to the story. If you're considering this show at all, absolutely give it a shot.

A Masterpiece!!!
I usually don’t write reviews but I had to come out of the closet for this one. Because Khemjira wasn’t just a show, it was an experience! This series was absolutely beautiful! from the story to the performances, every single piece came together like magic. It’s rare for a show to feel this complete, but this one truly did.
We were taken on an emotional journey through love, loss, and destiny, and I loved every second of it. Watching Khem’s transformation, a boy born under a deadly family curse, named Khemjira to hide him from fate into someone brave enough to love and be loved was powerful and heartbreaking all at once. The writing handled the supernatural themes with such care, blending mystery, folklore, and romance seamlessly.
The acting was phenomenal. The leads brought raw emotion and chemistry you could feel through the screen. For anyone saying they didn’t see it did we even watch the same show? Their connection was genuine, natural, and breathtaking. The NC scenes were beautifully done: tasteful, emotional, and perfectly balanced.
The production value was next-level from the hauntingly gorgeous lighting during the ritual and temple scenes to the soundtrack that tied emotion into every moment. The OST was stunning (that piano theme still gives me chills), and the visuals were cinematic perfection.
The storytelling never dragged. Every episode revealed something new, layers of love, fear, and sacrifice and by the finale, everything came full circle in the most satisfying way. The ending was poetic and emotional, wrapping up their story beautifully while leaving just enough hope for more. (Fingers crossed for a special episode!!! especially for Chan and Jet! 😭)
This wasn’t just another BL. Khemjira created a new standard for what a well-written, well-produced BL can be ! Emotional, meaningful, and visually stunning. The cast, the crew, the writers everyone did an incredible job.
If you’re scrolling through comments and see negativity, ignore it. Don’t let others dictate your experience watch it for yourself. This is one of the best series I’ve ever seen, and it’ll live in my heart forever. ❤️ It’s not just about romance it’s about fate, identity, and love that defies every boundary. Khem and Pharan’s journey felt spiritual, heartbreaking, and healing all at once. The way the curse, the rituals, and the folklore tied into their story gave this drama a soul. It wasn’t just love it was destiny beautifully told. I’ll be rewatching this one for years, and every time I’ll still feel that ache in my chest when the final scene plays.

Certainly worth the high ratings!
I began to binge watch this series at the perfect moment; Thunderstorm outside the dark, cold and gloomy atmosphere made a 10/10 first episode even more enjoyable. It gave me the sense that this was going to be a horror show that just happened to revolve around gay men, it's not though, it is instead a beautifully told love story that knows no gender or sexuality and so strong that it can't be stopped, not by curses, Vengeful spirits or even death, with a little horror here and there just for funsies and a gorgeous cast for good measure. Though I did want more horror I can't complain about a story this good.
I got fully invested in the past lives connections, the mystery of the curse attached to Khem. How stunning the ladies were in their past lives, the adorable little boys, again the entire cast is so gorgeous. I have to applaud especially how well the casting of the younger versions of Khem, the shaman and Phrim was it's flawless totally believable.
Ramphueng is a perfectly written Villain, she's the kind of villain so awful, so ruthless yet you get where they're coming from and could easily root for them. Her curse is so petty so harsh and unfair, however, her back story is heartbreaking and just as unfair as the curse was. I wasn't expecting it to be this good, but for me this one is a 10/10 beginning to end.
