If I had a dime for every Thai BL I've seen that features twin brothers separated by divorce, where one gets pulled into danger and the other secretly steps into his life to solve a mystery, even though he is completely different from his brother and the friends still are clueless, only to be discovered by one sharp acquaintance and slowly realize his twin was far less innocent than he believed, I would have two dimes. Which isn't a lot, but it is still wild that it has happened twice.Playboyy is one of the most mature Thai BLs I’ve seen, and it makes that clear from the very first frame. The content warning at the beginning is unusually thorough, listing every sensitive theme and explicitly recommending the series for viewers over 18. That sets the tone for what follows: a story that is complex, layered, and unapologetically adult.
The series follows seven couples whose lives are tightly intertwined, all set against a backdrop of sex work, drugs, university politics, and the central mystery of a missing twin brother. It is heavy, it is explicit, and it demands your full attention. The subject matter, the setting, and the emotional nuance are all firmly adult territory, and the show never pretends otherwise.
What impressed me most is how well the pacing works. With seven relationships in play, many series would lose their balance, but Playboyy manages to give each storyline weight without letting any of them overshadow the others. The narrative threads weave together cleanly, and the mystery kept me guessing right up until the end.
There is so much here: friendship and camaraderie, brotherly loyalty, hidden motivations, shifting alliances, and emotional depth that goes far beyond the surface. It’s the kind of show you can really sink your teeth into because it refuses to be simple.
For me, it was an amazing watch, and I will absolutely be rewatching it.

My kind of hot garbage
This series knows exactly what gay men want to see: hot sex scenes, brainless characters, sexual tension and melodrama. It's not good by any means, but it's entertaining, with adequate length and an excellent cast (all of them provoked deep feelings in me at least once). I can grant that it does a good job of building the tension rather than throwing gratuitous sex in from the get-go. WOW i watched it a billion times, over and over I CANT STOP WATCHING!!the story, the acting, the nc scenes, the characters, wow thats all im saying, THE DRAMA WILL OPEN YOUR EYES TO ANOTHER WORLD, THE CLUB WORLD! (DECH HAIR IN THIS WOW) i swear if you'll start watching it you won't able to stop!
THE NC SCENES ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS IVE SEEN IN DIFFERENT DRAMAS, IN THIS IS JUST ON THE SPOT IS SO GOOD

First impression
I don’t really know what to expect. This series does have a plot, what kind of surprised me, but it leaves no room for doubt.For example: I had a bad feeling about Soong and the model guy, but they could have waited with the reveal for a few episodes. Or they could keep the fact hidden that Nun has a twin. It would be a huge plot twist, findig out about that after 6 eps or so.
I‘m curious on how the series will evolve, but I do hope we get more intel on each character so that we can bond with them

I just loved this series so damn much, the intimate scenes and the plot! Omg so good, I can't even pick a favourite couple cuz all the couples are so damn good! I would rewatch this 100 times but still not get bored. Also, every actors are so damn handsome! For me this show IS all about sex BUT that means every aspect. All the different forms of sex, sex work, sexual relationships with others, peoples kinks. Seeing how people treat sex and what people do to make money to survive. I am very interested in seeing who explores what and what makes each of our main characters dick twitch. If you're not interested in any of those things than I can see why you wouldn't enjoy it and didn't look deeper than the sex scenes. So many watchers remind me of someone who watched a how to make a porno documentary, while they hate porn.People's sexual interests are very fascinating, Zouey has me super curious about what exactly gets him off and also WHY he is that way.
This isn't your normal BL show and if you're looking for hot sex scenes instead of maybe messy realistic sex scenes, this probably won't be for you. The first episode may have lacked plot but it DID seem like a good character study and it did begin a plot that I think is going to be very interesting.
I am very excited to see them dive in deep to find out where their missing friend is, but even just watching them and what drives them, is good enough already. First is also my favorite little horny shit character.
Side note: I do agree the acting is a bit cringe, but I think they're doing pretty well for actors portraying something that isn't exactly the most comfortable thing to film in front of a bunch of people.

I like the idea but the execution is really bad. I am real lenient when it comes to acting. I understand BL usually has rookie but this show is really hard to watch. I must say some of the fetish are quite interesting, quite refreshing concept but i feel NOTHING.The execution of the scenes, the acting or expression or emotions are really bad. Plus, I am so confused with who is who and what's happening even after 2 episodes lol
Also, the guys aren't all that cute or hot for a show called Playboy...
Maybe its just me, but boy...I guess show like KP or only friends have set the standard too high lol

I feel insane
This is THE worst BL ever made I think. Might be one of the worst shows in general ever made. If you liked this, please seek help. I don't understand why anyone thought this was good enough to release to the public. This makes Only Friends seem like it was written by Shakespeare himself. Im normally pretty longwinded in reviews, especially if I didnt like the series, but for once, i have not shit to say. I didnt even make it though episode one. I figured it was going to be NC scene heavy, but never in a million years did I expect every NC scene to feel awkward, random, and kinda forced/fake 🙃 this was a no.Oh theres a character minimum limit jfc,ok uh
From what i got between all the jacking off and horny people trying to fuck everything with legs, their friend dissappeared and no one gives enough of a fuck to report that and instead call an escort dressed up like a cop to take their friends mind off the other one disappearing???? Ok sure. Being a virgin is aparently the crime of all crimes to this group so lets have some weird consent issues for 200. Ok bet. BL writers must think fans are famished because why are we holding a stare with no words for 10+ seconds??? the story line can be interesting but so far it was mostly a soft porn?thought we might be getting an asexual character (finally some representation) but no he had to be forced into the once you'll like it i know it just try ..
i will keep watching it because i want to know how the acting and story line is going to develop

Une curiosité aux sentiments mitigés...
Cette série me laisse sur des sentiments mitigés, pourtant elle suscite une certaine curiosité qui me pousse à ne pas la condamner.À mes yeux, la plus grande réussite, c'est l'ambiance. Une tension qui se mêle à l'érotisme, le sensuel, le sexuel, la moiteur et la curiosité. De temps en temps, cela tire vers le lugubre, pour revenir à des hommes nus qui s'amusent dans les draps, ou ailleurs. Parfois, ça ressemble à un vieux porno ringard, donnant lieu à des scènes tellement embarrassantes qu'elles en deviennent hilarantes… Cela dit, à titre comparatif, j'étais plus à l'aise devant Playboyy que Secret Crush on You (que j'ai abandonné après trois tentatives).
L'enquête ? Inutile de la prendre trop au sérieux. Certains personnages vont et viennent sans véritable impact. Les éléments semblent décousus, et le jeu des acteurs un peu ringard n'aide pas. Quant à la fin, elle me laisse perplexe. Même sans suivre les éléments à la loupe, je reste dubitative.
Playboyy pue le sexe, littéralement. Le sexe, la dépravation, la sueur et la douleur. Les personnages utilisent l'intimité pour s'exprimer. Parce qu'ici, le sexe devient une explication, une justification, une acceptation et même un rejet ou un défi. La nudité est présente avec des scènes audacieuses et réussies.
On voit beaucoup de fesses, de torses en sueur et des scènes qui peuvent choquer. Certains personnages devraient être en prison pour la cinquième fois depuis le début de l'épisode, mais encore une fois, l'histoire n'est pas là pour se prendre trop au sérieux.
En bref, Playboyy est une série étrange qui se balance entre la curiosité et le ridicule. Je ne l'ai pas aimée, mais je ne l'ai pas détestée non plus. C'est un entre-deux qui me pousse à ne pas la recommander, mais à ne pas la condamner.
