Cute for what it is

I found this drama from edits online, which were just the cutest so I was excited to watch it. And it definitely delivered on the chemistry of the main leads. Of course the trope of high school classmates/first loves meeting again is over done, but they made it fun to watch. Even their fake/contract relationship came about okay.

Just from watching the show you can see they didn’t have a big budget, but that shouldn’t hinder from writing a good story. It felt like all the scenes was just to move the plot forward without much substance. It felt choppy and rushed. Even them suddenly getting married without ever really dating and didn’t even properly date AFTER they got married felt so weird. The actors definitely had the chemistry to make some magic from a badly paced script. The ending does make me forget the bad parts, that kid actor was so so loveable! + love the greenest flag but naughty scheming ML.

Hope we get to see the main leads in a better written drama in the future.

A good plot wasted.

Honestly, I am disappointed.

The plot was the winning recipe : contractual relationship - first love combo, but I feel like they wasted it. The story seems to have missing parts and at some moments leaves you wondering what happened : did you miss something? or is the show just badly produced ?
Some main events just don't make sense and seem to be happening out of nowhere.

Even if they're quite funny, the chemistry between the two leads isn't the best. The female lead sometimes feels awkward and, if she's smart sometimes she just is so dumb too.

I like romantic cdramas because they know how to use the codes of the genre well, even if they don't innove, it's always entertaining.
Not this time. It wasn't bad but I feel like the job wasn't done.

Of course, there's still some good points :

#the plot : like I said, a classic.

#the humour : it's quite funny...

#the actors

A wasted potential...

I had a lot of expectations from this drama. Especially, because I know the actress from WIFTY. However, this drama felt flat for me. The ML was too dull. He has a lot of potential, but his acting in my opinion is weak.

The 2 ML was a lot better in my opinion. He and FL had a chemistry that she didn't have with the main ML.

If this was maybe 24 episodes long, it couldn't been better. It had a nice visuals, and soundtracks, but I didn't believe in their romance at all. They didn't convince me just because they said they were in love, and had feelings for each other.

This drama could've been sooooo good. Fake dating. Being roommates? That's one of the best tropes.

This needed a better script! And much more episodes to deliver it better!

Some sweetness for rainy days

PLOT: The ML, a brilliant student, then manager of a company, has been in love with the FL since high school. The FL is a producer, warm and cheerful, but despairs of getting married (repeated failed blind dates). By mistake, she posts a photo that pushes everyone to believe that he is her BF. They make a "fake relationship contract", she live with him, ... and sparks soon appear.

PROS:
+ A great ML: Zhang Jiong Min, and a beautiful, natural chemistry in the CL.
+ All the characters are nice (a bit "teddy bear")
+ simple story, without villain
+ A realistic storyline

CONS:
- a bit childish character.
- very classic plot.

=> Pleasant, nice and sweet series, even if "nothing new under the sun"
*******************************************************

This started out so cute. The FL is adorable! However, for such a short drama, they wasted so much time. They skipped all the cute things one would expect to see in a fake relationship. They introduced random other characters for jealousy but it fell flat because nothing was really happening. The main couple got together in such an uninteresting way... I wanted to watch it because of a clip I saw where FL hugs the ML while drunk in front of their colleagues... that remained the cutest part of the drama unfortunately.

Uncomplicated comfort drama

This was a sweet comfort drama, with quite simple, straightforward story about love that was meant to be.
Casting was good - the main couple didn’t have the strongest chemistry, but they were quite sweet together in some scenes.
Second ML was good, and second FL was ok.

As for the story, it is quite uncomplicated and simple as mentioned. There are of course some twists in the story where you might expect more to happen than it actually does.

Conclusion: Easy to watch, leaves you with a good feeling.

Very cute story

I almost overlooked this story because the trailer didn’t catch my attention much but this turned out to be a really cute love story.

The Good

I really appreciated the mature and calm nature of the main leads throughout their story since contract relationships are a common trope in CDramas. What made this one stand out was the fact that all the couples just rolled with the relationships and didn’t make things awkward. They each accepted their feelings. The relationships built up naturally and more realistic and did not contain too many of the tropes. I absolutely adored the ending and loved that they gave us closure to their love story. Fairly decent acting, nice OST and decent production for a modern drama.

The Bad

Still constrained the usual misunderstandings and unnecessary love triangles. With the limited amount of episodes, I’m glad they didn’t drag them out longer than necessary. I also wished there was just a little more romance but for what we got it was fairly good.

50-50

"The Best Day of My Life", consisting of 14 episodes, each 30 minutes long, is a sweet, small, light, and cute romantic drama. Although a few middle episodes were boring, the ending was perfect. Some viewers might find the story cliché because there is nothing new in it. High school love stories like this have been made many times before. The plot revolves around a boy who has had a miserable life since childhood and a girl who becomes a bright light in his dark world. Because he is unable to express his feelings, she never realizes that he likes her, and they end up being separated for many years. When he returns, he still struggles to express his feelings, making it difficult for him to propose to her .This journey of how he proposes and how their story begins is shown in the drama.
I like the male lead . I liked second leads' love story .

Circle of Life

You are my origin and also my destination.

Scored 10/10 to bring up the ratings. it's a good quick drama to binge and anything lower than 8.0 is unjustifiable.

Real rating: 8.5/10

it was a good watch. I really love Jiang Zhi Nan's Visuals (Xu Mu) big fan of her in all of the dramas I've seen her.

She's really lovely and sweet looking, I wish the best for her.

This was the first drama I've seen her in a main role, and she nailed it imo.

Even though drama was short, but I think the episode number was perfect.

I just wish we have more intimate scenes between the main leads and scenes of their lives with manman!

Luckily, we didn't have a lot of annoying scenes and that's what makes this 8.5+ out of me.

I enjoy dramas with little to zero annoying conflicts.

Love at first sight

It was okay and I am glad it was short lol as it could have gotten boring fast. Why I say it was okay? I have watched a lot of contractual situationship dramas that turned into romance and although we can see they liked each other, it wasnt giving me that intense, omg, cant wait to officially be with you vibes if that makes sense.
While I understand they were both hesitant to start a real relationship, the misunderstandings could have been cleared up if they had better communication.
I am a sucker for happy endings that include a wedding and starting a family. I am just happy they got they happy ending.

Cute fluffy typical

Aug. 5, 2024

WHOA, finally a Cdrama that I finished without dropping after a long mf time.

The Best Day of My Life is a cute fluffy and typical Cdrama. A cliche that is enjoyable to watch especially in this summer and hot days. Can't believe I finished it within 2 days.

First of all, there are misunderstandings in this drama but it is not as bad as other Cdramas. I mean its annoying but it is not frustrating that you would want to rip your hair off its follicles. The plot prognosis is very predictable but again with rom-com Cdramas, it is up to how you feel with it. I feel like turning off your brain and not thinking too much about the plot will give you a more understanding and appreciation of this drama. It does feel a bit abrupt at times since it has a longer time slot and only is 14 episodes.

The chemistry of the main couple and the second couple are amazing to say the least. I definitely watched it for the both of them. I would say, that there were certain points were the second couple were stealing the show and shining more than the main couple.

As for the second lead male and female, they honestly did not bring anything to the table. They were skip sesh for all their appearance.

Needless to say, I had so much fun watching this show.

Contract Relationship with Highschool Deskmate?!

Okay, this drama was pretty short, It had its ups and downs , like some parts were super cute and funny and some of them were rushed, and didn't make sense. It's a short fluffy drama,i would re-watch if I have really nothing else to watch or something I'd watch after a long drama with a lot of plot , since this drama is pretty refreshing. They tried adding everything, every trope, every clichés ,every contract marriage situation that could ever happen.

MAIN LEAD :
Honestly I loved the main lead , he was such a green flag, But I wish he expressed his feelings more, i mean he is an introverted guy and and since it's a contract relationship I get that it's awkward but I don't think people realise that their love language is act of service. I read alot of reviews of him not expressing as much, and i feel heis but itis not as open as normal cdramas

LOVE LANGUAGE:
If you observe the couple really close he's always helping her someway. When she was harrassed by her roomates, he stepped in without thinking, giving her mosquito repellent, making her soup, cheering her up , savings her from peer pressure to drink alcohol , etc. and she is more awkward than him, but he enjoys it, it's the part that made him fall for her.

DISLIKES:
I didn't like the the second love interests at the end, i mean i get it , they were just there to bring drama but it could've been avoided as it is already a short drama, why add more drama at the end while it was going pretty smooth. The female lead was a damsel in distress the whole drama , i wish she had her own moment but she didn't get an single one. If they added more drama and new characters at the end, they could've made it more episodes, since the ending was rushed .

SECOND LEADS:
The second leads definitely did a good job in taking the role seriously. Their trope enemies to lovers were good. I wish they had more enemies part before they got together. I wasn't that invested in their story as much as everyone else. But their definitely more chaotic and straightforward than the main couple. Their dynamic was cute.

FAV SCENE:
The scene I loved the most was when she was peer pressured to drink alcohol. And he saw that she was clearly uncomfortable. While he asks the female lead if she wants to go home, and she was hesitant. He says "If you want to go home, we go home"
It's a simple scene but carries so much like he has also an important meeting but he is willing to leave that for her, is very cute.
