Strong start but falter starting episode 11
I saw clips of this cdrama on Youtube and after reading synopsis, I thought why not watch it.What I liked:
1) Plot at the start - For the first 11 episodes, the story was refreshing and fast-paced. No over the top drama. I like that 4 characters (male lead Xie Shi, female lead Xu Mu, second male lead Shen Yi & second female lead Song Nian Nian) have different personalities.
2) Romance - It's fascinating to watch 2 different relationships progress throughout the series. Secret crush/fake relationship vs bad first impression turned friends turned lovers. I personally enjoyed the latter, which was demonstrated by the second leads. We see Song Nian Nian and Shen Yi going through hardship together therefore they were more believable and dynamic compared to Xu Mu-Xie Shi's relationship.
3) Shen Yi characterisation - It's great to see his character grow throughout the series. He started off as goofy rich kid trying to regain daddy's approval and money but he wasn't a slacker. He worked hard and what surprised me most is his kind heart. He helped and supported Xie Shi and Song Nian Nian.
4) Song Nian Nian characterisation - I like that she's sensible despite being a writer i.e. she's not caught up in her own bubble or fiction. She is aware and attuned to her feelings and surroundings. She is a good friend to both Xu Mu and Shen Yi.
5) Zhang Yao - Wow, I was blown away by Sheng Yi Chen's face. What an arresting beauty! His eyes were magnetic and I like his subtlety in both facial expressions and actions.
6) Xu Mu's colleagues - It was fun to watch Zhao Yu Si, Qin Xiao Ke, Mr Liao and even the annoying rival Fang Jing Jing in and out of the office.
7) Zhang Jiong Min - I like his facial expression especially the smirk. He reminds me of Korean idol Lee Jeonghyeon of EVNNE. His character is quiet but there is intrigue.
What I disliked:
1) Plot at the end - I was infuriated with Xu Mu in episode 10. The lack of communication led to misunderstanding and seriously I don't understand the reason for accepting Xie Shi's marriage proposal. I also found that the main couple lost their spark after that debacle.
2) Xu Mu characterisation - She didn't grow as much as other characters. She liked to assume things without proper communication with Xie Shi. Perhaps her character hated confrontation but her assumptions led to misunderstandings. Once is fine but she repeated it again in episode 14.
Favourite scene:
When Song Nian Nian realised how much Shen Yi has done for her and was overwhelmed by his love.

It is like every other average fluffy romantic C-drama with nothing new to offer
The drama doesn't bring you anything new or out of the box but is like every other cute fluffy generic dramas that you have seen before many times. The same ML and FL meeting one another after along time, same unidimensional SML being added only to create misunderstandings, a secondary couple created to utilize the rest of episode's time, same lack of communication and unnecessary dragging of the story.The actors have done good with their roles. The roles and characters weren't something with much emotional arcs to offer but are unidimensional so were pulled of good.
I dropped it after E11 as it is just lame and boring to watch.
The only reason to watch this drama is if you are a fan of the actors or you love these average cute fluffy tropes otherwise this drama can be skipped.

Common storyline
Story: Story line of the drama is like the common other short rom-com chinese drama. ML, FL meets after a long time. And there's some contract relationship and room sharing, first love.Acting: Actors have done a great job. Not any cringe or over acting.
Whether to watch or not: if you're a fan of short rom-com with less misunderstanding, then you can go for it.

Nice premise, poor development
Started promising, but I just can't get past the fact that although it's a sorth drama of 14 episodes, they still dragged it out using boring and cliché quarrels.It's a really slow slow burning love...

Love this drama!
Honestly I really enjoyed this drama from beginning to end. It had no unnecessary prolonged drama that kept the episodes long and the storyline moved pretty well. I enjoyed the simplicity and straight to the point this show was and just had its moments watching the storyline and the characters unfold. I also really loved the music they had for this show! one of the cutest CDrama - ML & FL great chemistry & acting too cute . i can’t believe it’s only 14 eps. so far, i did like how the story started & ended. Way better story, acting & cast than big celebrities with long episodes & annoying acting like Only for Love. I was so disappointed. Beautiful Romance Drama
The cdrama series tells the sweet and simple love story of high school friends Xu Mu (Jiang Zhinan) and Xie Shi (Zhang Jiongmin) as they cross paths as adults and became a beautiful and adoring couple. I really enjoyed this series. I especially like that the FL Xu Mu was strong, confident, beautiful, and believed in herself. I also feel in love with the ML, Xie Shi, who went through hardships and abuse from his father, and the death of his mother while in high school did not let his circumstances dictate his future. Xie Shi followed his dreams and became a successful businessman, and got reunited with his high school crush. He never gave up the dream of one day meeting Xu Mu again. The girl he always had a crush on in high school. Short drama series, but it was a great romance series. Both leafs were equally matched, and their chemistry was amazing. The second ML and FL were not bad either. Great cast, no over bearing mother or friends being negative or giving poor advice. All in all, this drama is one that I intend to rewatch a few more times. Awesome ost from opening song to ending song.All are in my Playlist on repeat. Who ever wrote this is a genius
Everything about this drama was perfect: the cast, their acting, timing, emotions, and everything else. This is the first Chinese drama that gave me K-drama vibes.They fall in love naturally, Mom forcing them to get together, and their understanding and their delivery of emotions are to the point. There is nothing cringe in this drama except for the side characters.
Most Chinese dramas end when the characters get married and end it by showing their child. But here they experienced what it would be like to be a parent and then tried for a kid after 6 years of their marriage. The drama ended when they took wedding photos. I just loved this idea. It was not like any other typical live-in together c-drama.
As I said, the writer, director, and production are geniuses. The cast choice is also great. Together they created a perfect drama.

Excellent drama for a short watch
OverviewExcellent drama for a short watch, highly recommended
Pros:
• Awesome chemistry between ML/FL- acting/ kisses etc
• SML/ SFL were really good and supportive friends (fun element of the drama too)
• Nice plot with quite unique (atleast not so common) elements- for example: the couple game show etc
• Loved all the songs <3
Cons:
• Short drama with quite a lot of sub plots, made a few parts feel rushed but they weren’t that bad either
• SFL can be a bit extra at times but its again a pretty normal trait for a SL
• Second leads story was sorta rushed and unnecessary imo (they just wanted to add a sad element?)
Summary
• Typical high school love that transcends into work place love
• 10/10 excellent drama overall!
