Watchable

Although A Breeze of Love was a bit of a disappointment for me, it was still entertaining enough for me to complete it. I'd say if you are in the mood to binge a short BL with not a lot of substance, this is a decent choice.

The characters are flat and so is the story. It basically goes like this: *leads have an interaction*, *angry basketball*, *a flashback you've probably already seen* and repeat. The acting is okay, and the music isn't great. Overall nothing is terrible and nothing is very good.

One of the Best Named BLs Ever!

I must admit that this is one of the best named BL series ever. It has such an encompassing name that it is hard to forget. It is quite poetic. I just wish the actual series lived up to the title. Well, let me clarify that. It does; and yet, it does not. It is a breeze; I am just not so sure about the love. Admittedly, it is an intriguing story made unnecessarily complicated. This is a great series, unquestionably. It could have been a masterpiece, however. What it lacked was an impact. I enjoyed it but simply found the major characters too unrelatable in their stoicism.

Basketball & Sleep

Inspired by the Japanese I think, Koreans have been definitely upping their BL game recently. The dramas they release are getting better and better: the production values are higher and the stories they are telling are better written. This one is definitely one of the best BL to come out of Korea.

The story is nothing new: highschool friends see their feelings for each other grow but scared of the consequences, they separate. They meet again five years later and restart the relationship. Will they be more successful this time around?

The drama started surprisingly well. It was not the usual ugly korean webseries: the cinematography is excellent, the rain, the sunlight, the basketball field, the overall aesthetical impression is extraordinary. It is worth the watch just for that. But, fortunately there is more to it than just good looks. The story is well written: starting in the present and slowly uncovering their pas connection in a series of flashbacks which are not in chronological order and may confuse some. The actors had decent chemistry and their kissing scenes were really butterfly inducing which is so rare in K-dramas not only BLs!

Now for the reasons this is not getting a 10/10 from me. First and foremost: it is too short, there are so many things missing in this story. Insomnia was never really explained: why was he suffering from it. I really don't like it when the solution to a psychological problem is LOVE. I wish life was so easy! Another problem stemming from the previous one is lack of communication. It did create a slight conflict, kind of blink-and-you-miss-it which was solved by "I'm sorry! I love you!" Really?!? Main characters were not as likeable (one a liar and one naive) as they should have been but they are very human so...let's settle with reality! The only girl in the cast, was all kinds of annoying, loud, intrusive and a busybody. And the last but not least issue I have with this (I'm nitpicking here! LOL) is the very last scene: the cringefest! I am still shuddering while I'm writing this!

Well, all in all it is a nice binge watch, not too angsty, rather cute but too short!

Oh and I almost forgot a nod to TharnType and icecubes in the last episode.

Excellent for the time they had

Wow. I always worry about Korean BLs that are so short because so often they try to do too much in too little time. A Breeze of Love was the perfect amount of character and relationship development for the length of the show!

When the basketball team is in need of a forward, the team manager scouts Dongwook to play for them. However, Dongwook and the team captain Dohyun know each other, and don't seem to be on good terms. The show plays out in a dual timeline: Dongwook and Dohyun's current "enemies" to lovers college relationship builds as you get flashbacks of their high school relationship that ended in a bad falling out.

I love the way that instead of telling the story in chronological order, you get bits and pieces of what happened between them in high school as you move through the show. Also, I'm really glad they didn't try to do too much with Dongwook's insomnia, and kept it simple considering the length of the show. All in all, this was a lovely movie-like watch that was cute, comforting, and worth giving a shot.

I DID NOT EXPECT THIS SERIES TO BE THIS GOOD!?

SUCH A SIMPLE BUT SWEET BEAUTIFUL SERIES. Again, i dont really have any expectation for this series because this series is a bit short. Its only like 15-20 minutes per eps, BUT ITS GOOD. OMG IT WAS SO GOOD. And wow, im actually very VERY IMPRESSED with how this series turned out cuz i didn't prepare myself to like this series with my whole heart!!!! Truly what a wonderful experience. This series is very underrated istg, cuz no one talks about this series at all!

The plot
SUCH A REFRESHING AND UNIQUE PLOT. The plot consists of past and present plot which what i never really see in K-BL before so this alr make me feel impressed. Because even though we go back and forth through out the series, but it doesn't feel overwhelming at all. In fact its very clear and very easy to understand. This series has 2 background plot, high school and college WHICH IS PERFECT??? LIKE WHATTT. Its my favorite type of plot. I really love the plot sm, because we slowly discover new things about the couple like how they met and how they become friends before, through the back and forth plot which very fun and interesting. AND IM TRULY EMOTIONALLY INVESTED SM!! Because of their simplicity but also great execution, its truly one of the best series that ive ever watch. And to think that its a pretty short drama but the writer can make everything so good, so clear, understandable, but also captivating.. Its INSANE.

The chemistry
I think its alr proven how K-BL now has improved so much and they really working on the characters too. But because this is a short drama, i thought that it was gonna be a mediocre. BUT I WAS WRONG. The chemistry in this series is so good! And i still surprised how i got very emotionally invested and attached to the characters here in this drama. Its actually INSANE. LIKE TRULY INSANE!! I dont feel any awkward tension goin on, i mean there is awkward situations, but in a good way. The awkwardness make us, watchers, feel more about how the couple. Its just that good.

The production/The cast
This is what im completely surprised with. HELLO??? WHY IS THE PRODUCTION SO GOOD FOR SHORT DRAMA LIKE THIS?? Its very enjoyable and i dont see any bad production thing in this drama AT ALL. The soundtrack is pretty proper for a short drama, its just very good. And the cast as well LIKE WHATT THEY REALLY KNOW HOW TO ACT AND THEY'RE SO BEAUTIFUL TOO!! U can really feel deep down with the characters through their acting (esp when u are queer like my self :p) Im very very satisfied and entertained watching this drama sm! I love it!!

Fav moments
I LOVE HOW THEY PICTURE THE COUPLE'S CUTE INTERACTIONS. I LOVE EVERY SINGLE OF THAT MOMENTS. And i also love THE ENDING SM LIKE WHATTTTTTTTTTT STOP. ITS SO CUTE!!!! And i do belive there is gonna be a season 2 with the ending tho.. BUT IDK I MIGHT BE WRONG.

So far im very enjoy to watch this series, very heartwarming and beautiful. LOVE IT!!! 9/10

so good but so short

I didn't expected this series to be good. I saw the run time and my expectations were low. But I gave it a try anyways since it was short and I had nothing to lose, and I am glad that I did and now I am regretting that it is so short. This series has the plot to stretch it to a 16 episodes with 1 hour runtime. We need a depth of how they met in highschool, their story in highschool, the reason for Dong Wook insomnia, how they first fell in love, Dong wook's reason for the misunderstanding should also be expanded more, just because he saw Do Hyun laugh with someone who is not him is not a good excuse. We need dept. BUT STILL they managed to make it good. Even with the lack of dept and run time. I am actually surprised. Another thing I love about this is the skin ship. Actually a good kiss which is rare in KBL. I wasn't even expecting one or i was expecting a bad one, but they actually did pretty well. So applause to that. The actors did well. Kinda here a there more emotions is needed but otherwise okay. They had really chemistry with each other. And also I am looking forward to the romance of the 'second lead' since he didn't really do much to be even consider a second lead. So in conclusion this was good, But could have been better with more episodes. Still overall very good.

Good acting!!

I really enjoyed it! My expectations were very low idk why, Kbls can be way too predictable and bland, but I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the theme of the lack of sleep because it's something different...and the conflict is believable! Also I love that the misunderstanding is not dragged and that they were able to truly communicate their feelings! the acting is very good from both leading actors. The relationship felt genuine and sweet! I recommend it if you like sweet but a lil angsty dramas.. I will rewatch it soon!

A wisp more than a breeze

Too much of the already short total runtime was used up by Do Hyun being angry at Dong Wook. The parts where they finally got to their dating bliss was so brief. I do like the part where they hinted they were interested at more intense couple activities outside of just their sweet couple moments. I really like their fun friend Hye In and it was just enough of the other friend that pined after Do Hyun, but respected the fact that he is not the one for Do Hyun.

not the best, but not the worst

This was okay, I fast forward sometimes.

I love the chemistry and the tension, the gay panic too. The leads were good and a good pairing. But what was with the kissing scenes? I think the best one was the first one and it was okay. Such weird angles, if they don’t want to show the kiss or the actors doesn’t want to kiss, than don’t add it. It is just weird to watch. I found that weird since it didn’t really seems like fish kiss either.

I hate misunderstanding trope and I didn’t appreciate the story that much, also as always to short and we don’t see a lot of things with the relationship. I got tired of Korean BL, because now it annoys me how short it is… I only got a few ones I really love and I don’t really watch Korean BL anymore, but I felt like watch one tonight.

Also, forget his name, but the guy who left, was kinda an ass, took him so long to explain. Fell bad for the other guy.
The friend in love with one of the leads was handsome and kind. Glad he didn’t confess or anything, finally someone with a brain and understood. Not the annoying type second lead. But like why at the very end, they kinda introduce a love interest for him. They don’t even show his face??? the fuck. and like not that necessary, because we want more and we will never get it…

Anyway, that was an okay watch, but won’t watch again.

Im happy I got to watch it !

Ive watched this drama after I watched The eight sense , They are both amazing!

This drama is the fluffy and heartwarming but at the same time hart-wrenching BL,

The tension in this series is on ANOTHER level! Its not the sexual tension you would expect, its just tension.
The way both characters look at each other you can feel the longing in their eyes.

I have a tendency to binge watch 14 hours of a BL in one day but i savored every episode of this, yeah it was not that pulling to watch episode after episode but I enjoyed it.
I watched a few episodes and saved others for another day, over all I loved this series, It was just not as pulling ( ina sense it pulled you to watch) as I imagined it would be ,

Is it a must watch ? No
do I recommend it? Yes
Is it for everyone ? No, but it is for most !

PWP?

The actors were absolutely gorgeous and they did the best with what was given. The acting was adequate. MC Do Hyun was a particularly endearing character. He was feisty, but very kind and sweet. ML Dong Wook was a frustrating one. He broke poor Do Hyun's heart when he abruptly left without an explanation. 5 years later, he just barged back into Do Hyun's life and just expected Do Hyun to accept him back despite still, not giving any reasons/explanations. Foolish lovelorn Do Hyun pretty much did just that! So happy he was, with the crumbs of affection offered to him, that he just let Dong Wook walked all over him.
5 years! Do Hyun had this sweet gorgeous friend pining for him all that time and nothing came of it. What a waste! That poor sweet friend was in unrequited love with Do Hyun for years and for what? It didn't add anything to the plot. It was distracting if anything.
Anyway, Dong Wook; so he found himself a human sleeping pill, someone that helped him get some sleep. Not only that, someone who he liked a lot, allegedly, and he just walked away from that! Not just walked away, he had to coldly broke the poor boy's heart (the person he claimed to like) before he left, for no good reason!
So what happened during the five years separation? Did Dong Wook managed to sleep? Apparently not! How does one survive for 5 years without sleep? And during those five years did he not think of seeking Do Hyun to explain everything and ask for reconciliation and ask for help with his insomnia? It seemed Do Hyun was his only cure. So if he didn't serendipitously met Do Hyun again, he would go the rest of his life without sleep? *Sigh* I just can't get over this major plot device not being delved into more deeply.
So overall: The plot/story awful, the actors gorgeous, the acting decent, the chemistry sweet.
No steamy scenes just a couple of sweet kisses.
