K-Drama 
Jin Qi and Lan Xiang visit her parents, and Jin Qi makes them feel comfortable around him and tells them about his sudden move to the Capital. They try to convince Lan Xiang to join Jin Qi in the Capital, esp. since they're newlyweds. Jiu Gao, who had previously avoided his mother's marital arrangements, is trying to let Yu Chan know how he feels, but she treats him like an annoying younger brother. A Zhi, who was rescued by Master Lu and Lan Xiang's father from the Qingyan brothel, reappears and claims to have information on Ji Er's whereabouts.

This show has been SO SO SO well written up to this point that what happens in this episode is just awful and disappointing. A total let-down as the writers lean into to a massive 'plot-induced-stupidity' moment, making Lin Jin Qi do something so absurdly stupid and out-of-character that I'm kind of left speechless. It makes no sense other than a stupid, cheep contrived way to create a much wider 'lack-of-trust' gap between the ML & FL that will now take many episodes for him to fill in. The purpose is so blatantly obvious and the means is so lazy and disappointing. Look, we see this kind of stupidity in a lot of dramas so it's nothing totally new. But when a show has been so well-written as this one up to now, for them to use this now is so glaring and disappointing. Like spilling a bottle of black ink on a white sheet. This is a stain on the show quality that is going to be hard to wash away. For that matter, the way that Xu Lan Xiang's character has behaved the last couple of episodes is also barely resembling the girl in the prior 25 or so episodes.

Lan Xiang is still telling JinQi at every opportunity that she has no intentions of going with him to the capital. Everyone else is happily packing and planning. Yuchan is happy her shop has been doing so well. Mr Han is the good luck charm next door. Everyone wants to buy same supplies he used for luck. She just happens to be the seller of those items.😁 JiuGao is so cute when he puts the flower in her hair, but I laugh out loud when she thinks it’s a bug. 🤣😂 She still sees the mischievous boy and he wants her to see him as a man. When she saw the flower in his hand she softened and agreed to share one with her friend. There is a beggar at the door and when confronted it turns out to be Zhi. Her parents kicked her out when she returned saying she was an embarrassment. Her feet and hands are in terrible shape and LanXiang and her mother assist with soft food and healing steps to thaw her skin and help it heal. Lan Xiang knows she’s been adamant about not going to capital but she plans on telling JinQi she changed her mind after dinner. He did a good job buttering up the parents and acting like a pleasant son in law in the cloak Ms Xu made for him. His gpa call for a meeting in ancestral home and reminds him of the double edged sword working for emperor. He tells JinQi he let all the siblings go so JinQi wouldn’t be rash and do something that could endanger them all. His mind goes to the prince he helped sneak out of the country and gpa wants plausible deniability. He wants no knowledge of whatever it was. He just warns JinQi to think of his responsibilities and to get a further position from emperor rather than closer one. Zhi happens to know where Ji’Er is so LanXiang said she’d head out to capital next morning. Jinqi would have been overjoyed with that news had he bothered to ask her one last time. Instead, he tells her he will make every effort to get reassigned to Jinling as she passes out from being drugged.😝🙄😳🙈 This man, he has no sense of self preservation with her. And to top it off he thinks she has feelings for Han and wants her to understand Han has no part with them. He didn’t even really have a part with LanXiang 😝🙄She’s not about to tell him that because he’s too busy thinking he knows how to make correct decisions for her when he didn’t even make the right choice about a damn robe til the maid informed him of its significance. I think he’s known as a military strategist but his brain turns to sludge with her. Even JiuGao knows he’s failing with the girl and doesn’t want to make the same stupid mistakes. LanXiang wakes up on the ship and calms down when told Zhi is with them. She still hasn’t had a chance to explain why she is heading to the capital. Mr five children guy gives JinQI some husband advice. I don’t know how it will go over with LanXiang but it sure livened things up.🤣😂🔥Preview shows the lovely family sold from Lin house. They seem as awful as ever.😝😡

Him going down for her to put the cloak on him, loved it! 😊 And her calling them too old to cosplay happy newlyweds as a rebuttal. 😂 It was so funny. Also, the way he he won his in-laws over and was teasing Lanxiang at her parents house by telling on her and eating and all that, so sweet! To not worry Lanxiang's parents mission accomplished! ^^He's really mischievious actually. Love that side of him. ^-^BUT, why drugged her (and out of jealousy because why is he talking about Han Liang again?) to force her to come with you after saying he did not want to force her?! Young Master, you're not helping your case nor helping us being on your side. >

Lan Xian unexpectedly offers to let Lin Jin Qi wear the blue jacket her mother made for him. Lin Jin Qi immediately understands that she wants her parents to be happy and not worry about their marriage. She says that since she can no longer be with them, she doesn't want to cause them any trouble. At her parents' home, Lin Jin Qi and Lan Xian try to keep up a harmonious facade, but when Lin Jin Qi mentions that he will be going to the capital for about three years—implying Lan Xian will go too—she seems to suggest otherwise. However, her parents agree that the couple needs to stay together and shouldn't be apart for so long. Lan Xian's parents seem to like Lin Jin Qi, and he reciprocates the feeling.Yuchan brings a gift, which Lin Jin Qi accepts on behalf of himself and Lan Xian to give to someone else.The girl who was rescued from the brothel suddenly reappears, looking like a ragged beggar. Lan Xian and her parents take her in, tend to her wounds, and feed her. During a conversation, Zhi reveals to Lan Xian that Jier is likely in the capital; she found the family crest of the household where Jier had been sold.Lan Xian unexpectedly finds several reasons to agree to go to the capital, but Lin Jin Qi thinks she remains adamant. He then acts impulsively: he slips a natural sleep-inducing remedy into Lan Xian's cup. Just as she is about to tell him she agrees to go to the capital with him, she falls asleep. Lin Jin Qi carefully lays her down on the bed and says he couldn't bear to be apart from her (and urges her to leave behind any feelings for the scholar Han). "The past cannot be changed, but the future can be built." When Lan Xiang wakes up (already aboard the ship bound for the capital), she finds Lin Jin Qi acting cautiously, trying to apologize and win her favor so she will forgive him. He says, "Lan Xiang, don't take it to heart; you might get sick." But Lan Xiang remains serious and silent, seemingly ignoring him.At the port, Lin Jin Qi—handsome in his fur coat—looks troubled. An older friend speaks to him playfully and confidentially: "Don't look so pitiful; you can win your woman over. Be persistent and bold in your actions with her—woo her, you know? (Don't worry about your clothes.) Do you understand?"However, there is a somber moment in this episode. It takes place in the family's ceremonial chamber, where Lin Jin Qi and his grandfather are having a serious conversation. Lin Jin Qi is on his knees, bowing respectfully to his elderly grandfather, who offers him counsel. "Lin Jin Qi, a promotion is seemingly a wonderful thing. But in reality, being close to the Emperor is like being close to a tiger. I hope you haven't done anything you might regret in the Emperor's presence." Lin Jin Qi tries to stammer something (recalling how he helped the deposed prince escape because he believed the prince had been wronged), but before he can tell his grandfather, the old man cuts him off: "I don't want to know." His grandfather continues, "You defied your parents' wishes to win your wife. But when the Emperor opposes you, will you defy him as well?" Lin Jin Qi’s eyes well up and his expression betrays the urge to weep, yet he holds back the tears. He assures his grandfather that he serves the nation and the Emperor, and that he would never do such a thing.Yet, the episode ends on a humorous note. LJQ decides to put his old friend's advice into practice. Seeing Lan Xian with her back turned as she tidies up, he rushes to undress. Just as he is removing his first layer of clothing, Lan Xian turns around, confused. Embarrassed, he says, "I'm taking off my clothes." She simply says, "Oh..." and pays him no further mind. However, she walks forward and discovers Lin Jin Qi’s bathtub filled with hot water. Just then, LJQ approaches from behind wearing a sheer white nightgown—left slightly open—and bumps right into her, causing the garment to slip off his shoulders and fall down his back. Both of them look startled. The episode ends there. (Will this "drastic" approach help Lin Jin Qi win over his wife? We shall see in Episode 30.)

Lol, Jinqi in this episode... 😂 He's such a loser for love. But why would he think drugging Lanxiang could anyhow work in his favour? It was like taking three steps back from that one-tenth of a step he maybe had made forward... 🤦♀️But I am glad she had already decided to go to the capital before all of Jinqi's shenanigans, because otherwise he would have seen hell. I am sure of that... But I expect facing her trauma will be tough for her, though she will do great in the end. 😟But now I also worry about Old Master Lin's words to Jinqi before their journey, because I think someone will find out what Jinqi did for the deposed Crown Prince... And that most likely will be judged as treason. 😨P.S. I was so sad for Zhi... 😢🤧
