This is ridiculously bad
What a waste of time. Lets start with the positives-- beautiful environment, costumes, sound, special effects with some fights scenes. Apart from that its virtually hollow and empty. Annoying camera work and pretty characters that cant seem to act. Dark tone with melodramatic doom and gloom. Terribly boring pacing and story. Super annoying medicine kid.Maybe I came into this series with high expectations from the trailer but what a total disappointment. This is the case where the bad completely destroyed the good part of this series.

Just couldn’t get into the story
If you’re into fast pace storytelling with a multitude of characters and twist then this is for you. Personally I prefer a steady storyline backed by an emotionally impactful soundtrack. The little kid is so distracting I’m not sure what the purpose other than a comedic role. My telltale sign when I can’t focus on a show is when I’m fast forwarding to parts that makes the story cohesive. And that’s just to tiring for me. Again, for those who likes briefs bursts of stories I can see why you would love this, it’s not just for me.Was this review helpful to you?
It's DARK, ENCHANTING, and FULL OF POTENTIALS
Ahhhh.. As you know lah, I always love this kind of dark hero stories, so of course I will give those dramas a special attention...Mysteries, and demons... what else could I ask? Those are a perfect combination... As for you can guess, fans of My Journey To You, would know that these two dramas come from same home production and director and even the same costume designer, they look so similar, right? I don't have to explain too much then, If you watch MJTY and loves it, then you would know how impressive the production. They look fabulous. That's a fact.
What could influence good dramas beside impressive productions would only be the story itself.
- How does the story telling?
Mysterious enough to make me itchy for the next episodes, that's for sure.
- How are the characters development?
As far I watch the first 3 episodes, I can tell they have so much potentials and so much to explore.
- How much Fangs of Fortune could give us satisfaction at these last months of 2024?
That......, we must see later.
I will update my review later, but I think I won't worry too much... just hoping won't be ended just as MJTY did, a season two await.. hahahaha

Such a great watch!!!
Don't think anything I said is spoilers if anything is I'm sorry.This drama almost had everything I love in a drama if only it would of had a better romance story my rating would of been a 10. I feel like that was the only thing missing in this drama which is disappointing and a waste of chemistry between Neo Hou and Chen Du Ling, but even with that being from me it was still so worth watching.
The three actors I really enjoyed watching was Neo Hou, Tian Jia Rui, and Yan An. Their characters were my absolute favorite in this drama and their interactions together. That is what really shined for this drama was the friendships that formed with all characters and the way they all grew to understand each other. Also the fights scenes were really incredible to watch.
One thing I do want to put in this review is that I absolutely fell in love with the character Li Lun played by Yan An. Yes he is the villain (mostly), but his story and watching how amazing the actor portrayed him I just loved. He will definitely be one of my top characters. Yan An is just way to pretty!!!
Now on to just a few nitpicks that even got to me though I did really enjoy watching this drama.
1st: All the crying is most of the scenes. I do think they did go over board with it and it was really unnecessary. Especially when you can tell it is fake crying with the way the tears fall down the face.
2nd: The over done music, and I really do enjoy the songs for this drama. It was just one song really that got to me I felt like they played it over and over again that I actually didn't want to hear it anymore. Wished they would of played Liu Yu Ning's song more but maybe that is just me.
3rd: Not hating on the actresses so don't hate me but I didn't really enjoy the two main girls in this. Chen Du Ling's character was supposed to be this powerful goddess but it felt like she spent most of her time on the ground. Cheng Xiao's character felt kinda incomplete like they didn't know what to do with. She is an incredible fighter but she does a lot of standing around and being in the background. She also didn't feel like part of the group a lot of the times.
I really think this is worth the watch though even with my little nitpicks. If you are a romance lover and that is the only thing you really enjoy this may not be it for you, because they do have a little bit of a love story but it could of been better. They really could of done more with it, but the friendships of this story is worth it. The three actors I mentioned are worth watching.

A drama I respected more than I felt
This drama is undeniably well-crafted. The cinematography is polished, the visuals are intentional, and the acting holds its ground without slipping. On a technical level, everything is exactly where it should be.But even with all that craftsmanship, the connection never formed for me.
From the early episodes onward, I kept waiting for that internal shift — a spark, a pull, something that would make the story feel like more than a beautifully assembled experience. Instead, I found myself admiring the work while feeling completely untouched by it. It’s the multi‑million‑dollar house effect: flawless finishes, elegant design, nothing to critique… yet no sense of belonging.
By episode seven, the realization settled quietly. The narrative had already laid out its trajectory in the first episode, and without emotional stakes, the journey felt predetermined. Not frustrating, not disappointing — just distant. Continuing would have turned that distance into fatigue, and I didn’t want to force myself through something that wasn’t meeting me emotionally.
Despite that disconnect, I still gave it a decent grade. The effort is visible, the production is strong, and the respect for craft is clear. It simply didn’t reach me, and that’s enough of a reason for me to bow out.

It Couldn't Hold My Interest
**This is just my opinion. I truly appreciate all of the hard work and dedication that went into the making of this drama. Thank you.**I was really looking forward to binge watching this drama. Unfortunately, despite having a really great cast, it still couldn't catch or hold my interest by the end of episode 6. I'm sure that I'm not going to explain this right but the story felt hollow. Yes, we were told about missing pieces and sad things about the characters' lives but it wasn't done through the eyes or point of view of just a few. It's scattered with multiple vendettas, past trauma a criminal case, etc. all happening when we've just been introduced to the characters. The pacing feels off. If they had just given us a chance to get to know the characters better before rushing to add all the rest it would have made a huge difference.
The actors themselves did a very good job. The costumes were beautiful and the soundtrack was outstanding.

Good actors..
I always felt like HMH was a good actor and have seen majority of his dramas.. however I'm kinda disappointed in the acting in this drama. ALL the actors have a " weak, lack energy" type of voice. From the strong to the strong demon hunter...... I'm also disappointed with Hou's fight scenes or lack of it. I understand he is a super powerful demond but with the weak voice, lack of strengths in fight scenes. I won't have guessed he was all powerful.Was this review helpful to you?
Decent looking main casts, letdown with a WEIRD story and script!
The ML and FL look decent and seems to have slight chemistry. The script and plot though, seems to be going nowhere throughout the first few episodes and their script and dialogues between each of the characters were some sort of "weird". All the characters kept smiling at each other when they talk, and the context of their conversation is weirdly nonsensical. Their behaviors are so weird that it feels more like a parody drama than some serious fantasy drama.The only thing great about this show thus far are the production, costume, environment/props and the graphics. I don't think I'll be continuing with this show at least for now, it's a drop for me.
It's weird that this show actually has an 8.6 rating? Probably because the actor and actress's fan club simply spam 10/10. This show is a huge waste of time. They'd have to pay me to complete it.

Fangs of Fortune
Since there are only two episodes released, so far it's been really exciting so it feels lacking and I want more. The storyline is not boring, short, concise, clear. The acting of the cast is good, Minghao has a black aura Really wow. The change of his facial expression, that cool. I also didn't expect the soundtrack to be cool like entering an action game.Cinematography is very smooth, aaa.... So far I haven't found anything lacking. Waiting for this because of Neo and liking Mjty but.. Sorry I don't like the plot
It feels unfair to Lilun who used to be Zhuyan's best friend like Zhuyan didn't try to persuade Lilun to repent, Zhuyan seemed to have given up on persuading Lilun and chose her human friends even though they only communicated because Zhuyan didn't try to communicate with Lilun.Ying Lei who put in the most effort to save Bai Jiu, but her friends only felt the loss after she died, when she was still around she was always ignored, luckily her child was happy so they didn't think about her.
The plot seemed to be very hard to save Bai Jiu, but with many sacrifices little by little that person sacrificed, the next day the others sacrificed.
Those who are always trapped by Lilun & Chongwu Camp are annoying, they are so slow, my goodness 🙃
Even though Zhuyan already knows that the Nuwa stone can fix his sword, why did it take so long to tell him before Lilun took it. My goodness, it's so annoying
A predictable plot from the start, at the beginning Zhuyan is very op = at the end he becomes very weak ✔️ the opposite of Zhou Yichen
GJM's characteristic = the second lead shines more 🔥 throughout the plot it seems like ZYC's journey to becoming an op 😅
There is no chemistry between Zhao Yuanzhou - Wen Xiao, because at the beginning they always fight, suddenly in the middle they start to like each other, where did that come from? There is no falling in love scene It doesn't make sense 🙃 they are more suited as friends if you look at their social interactions so far it would be better if there was no love line
Actually I'm annoyed that Yinglei makes an effort to Baijiu but Bai Jiu makes an effort to Zyc, Zyc makes an effort to Wen Xiao, Wen Xiao makes an effort to Zyz (what kind of relationship is this 😓) what do you mean by that
I really like Ade's relationship, I'm honestly bored 🥲 because it's so predictable.
It's annoying that this is a life-exchange event 😤 Wow, Lilun is actually good, Zyz/Zy just lacks effort to persuade Lilun until finally Lilun is taken advantage of 😮💨
What's with the ending, it's like a waste of time watching just to spoil your eyes with the scenery 😑
It's sadder when Yinglei & Lilun die than Baijiu & Zhuyan die. Why did Qing Gang die just to save Zyc? They didn't even remind me anymore, poor Qing Gang

The villain is too OP, very strong + always in the lead and they are very weak, always losing, always being tricked, used too + always falling into the villain's trap.
There is no good plot twist like mjty at the end of the episode -_-
The most annoying thing is that GJM clearly made TJR's OP 😒 Neo became ah never mind like a parent who only protects TJR's PU 🙄
GJM this time only paid attention to the CGI, the storyline is disappointing
The relationship between the characters is also like they are on their own. They don't seem to fit together.

Tenho sentimentos conflitantes sobre esse drama.
Não sei se todos que assistiram se sentiram assim, porém, em relação a história, meu principal sentimento foi: o que tá acontecendo.Os acontecimentos durante o drama são muito confusos, muitas vezes mal dando para diferenciar flashbacks do que tá acontecendo no momento presente. Usam muito do feito "corta a cena" para deixar o espectador achar que algo aconteceu de uma forma mas, depois, mostrar que foi totalmente diferente (não crítico negativamente isso, mas me deixou confusa principalmente porque eles fizeram isso muitas vezes).
O desenvolvimento da maioria dos personagens também não me deixou muito satisfeita, tendo inclusive cenas cortadas que seriam incríveis de se ver (principalmente do Li Lun). O melhor desenvolvimento que teve foi do Yicheng com o Zhu Yan. Nem o casal principal foi tão convincente para mim (mesmo que, no final, eu ignorei isso e só shippava eles).
Confesso que as histórias "paralelas" me atrairam mais do que o enredo principal, já que, pelo menos nessas histórias eu entendia o que tava realmente acontecendo.
Ok, agora o ponto positivo: o elenco foi INCRÍVEL, acho que um dos melhores elencos que eu já tive o prazer de acompanhar. Todos os atores arrasaram em seus personagens, a caracterização foi IMPECÁVEL.
Os efeitos especiais também foram maravilhosos (o que me surpreendeu) e as músicas foram muito boas (só uma que achei meio destoante no drama, mas relevei).
Recomendo? Se você não se importar da história ser bagunçada, recomendo demais!
