Imperfect, but definitely worth a watch
This story has some unrealistic plot points, some uneven story telling, and meanders at times. But it also never fully unravels like so many other dramas these days. By the end it tells a coherent story that feels intentional and that shows real character growth and poignantly explores its themes.I really enjoyed having 4 separate and quite different types of romances to follow, and that the usual leads love triangle was subverted by it being with her already-dead boyfriend. Watching the ML/FL slowly fall in love was really lovely and beautiful. But they definitely dragged out the secret storyline too far, to the point where it was getting frustrating to watch, and it made the character arcs more rough than they could have been. The resolution for 3 of the 4 couples was perfect, but the second couple, which was at times even more compelling than the leads, completely putters out by the end. That was one of the most disappointing aspects of the show.
I also loved the emphasis on the non-romantic relationships. On the connection between the sisters, on the different relationships that each character had with their parents, both dead (or treated as dead) and alive, both those they were born to and those that became a stand in through choice and love.
Some of the acting performances were better than others. Kim Tae Young is a sweetie, but felt out of his league in this drama and made the youngest couple's storyline weaker than it could have been. Interestingly Oh Ye Ju was my favorite of the sisters, I loved her in every scene and she kept the youngest couple's storyline grounded enough to enjoy regardless. Han Ji Hyeon, who I have really liked in other roles, felt a bit one note here, possibly because the writing didn't give her much other choice. Lee Sung Kyung has that enchanting bubbly warmth and genuineness she brings to every role, but she still struggles to show the more subtle and deeper emotional energy in the quieter moments that would have made her character feel truly layered and alive.
The standout by far was Chae Jong Hyeop. I've never seen him in anything before this, but he has my attention. It is a lot easier to make an impact with a smoldering, closed off, reserved, mysterious ML. A ML who is open, generous, and upbeat is much more challenging to make compelling. But his Chan had me engaged and rooting for him from the start. At first I was confused by how Chan's happiness felt subtly forced at times, but I came to realize as we learned more of his backstory that each smile was an active choice, a decision to be happy in that moment, and you really felt this hard-earned hope and resilience stubbornly burning and alight even through all his moments of loneliness, fear, and pain. It made him seem so alive and grounded, and was a really beautiful and subtle characterization. He was also just as believable as the depressed loner without any hope in his past as the more mature ray of sunshine we saw in the present, and he brought such vulnerable and deep emotion to every scene. My heart ached so deeply for him at times. He was the heart and soul of the show, and what made it all work as well as it did.
This is not an addictive show you will binge watch obsessively, it is one you will be quietly drawn to throughout. And one that will hit you deeply in moments if you have the patience to allow it to unfold. There are some moments and some insights that transcend the drama and that I will think about months or years from now.

Beautifully crafted, emotionally resonant, but unable to carry the weight of its own twist
In Your Radiant Season begins with remarkable confidence. It’s beautifully made, warm in tone, and grows steadily through its early and middle episodes. The production is elegant, the pacing assured, and the ensemble feels grounded from the start. But the twist is where the drama loses its footing. Not because the idea is inherently flawed, but because the execution never quite earns the emotional leap it demands. I could see where it was heading, and to be honest, I skipped Episodes 10 and 11. There’s a rawness in that stretch — something too close to real emotional bruising — and I simply didn’t want to sit through it. It’s only a show, but sometimes a storyline hits a nerve you don’t feel like reopening.
The supporting couples are the true highlight. Couples 2, 3, and 4 are consistently excellent, each with their own charm, rhythm, and emotional payoff. Their arcs feel lived‑in and rewarding, and they often outshine the main storyline.
The OTP is more complicated. Their interactions are engaging and often emotional, but Chan can be frustrating — a bit too “happy chappy” early on, without enough time to deepen that persona before the PTSD storyline arrives. His trauma is understandable, but the transition feels rushed. His grandmother, the potter extraordinaire, is one of the most compelling presences in the show, and we simply needed more time with her. Chan’s father, with his criticism, distance, and eventual redemption, follows a familiar K‑drama pattern. I understood what the show was aiming for, but it rang hollow for me.
Ha Ran, on the other hand, is lovely — steady, sincere, and quietly heartbreaking. All she wants is what she lost, and her emotional clarity is one of the drama’s strengths.
Even with its missteps, In Your Radiant Season remains a beautifully crafted drama with strong performances and a standout ensemble. It just can’t fully sell the twist that becomes its emotional centre. When it focuses on its supporting relationships — and on the quieter, more grounded moments — it shines brightest.

Healing drama
This was such a cute, slice of life drama. Each character felt explored and developed, and I found myself caring for every single one of them, which is rare in large cast dramas for me.
The teen couple stole my heart, it was a really sweet and both actors were amazing, hopefully this is the start of very long a prolific careers for both of them.
This features love in all life stages, which was very much appreciated. I really liked hown the grandma had her own story and wasn't there just as a plot prop.
Main couple, I did not expect less from these actors. They chose a truly great project. They played each of their roles flawlessly and made me cry with them, but also made me extremely happy in their happy moments.
My only slight issue was with the lack of development of the second lead couple, I guess it was ok, nothing extraordinary, when they had great potential in the beginning.
I actually don't think this could've been longer, with more ep maybe they would've dragged everything for too long, everything wrapped up nicely in the end.
Overall, best of 2026 so far.

A beautiful moving story that exceeded expectations
What a beautiful story. I honestly can't understand why this isn't rated a 10 across the board. I suspect it's because it doesn't lean into comedy the way many K-dramas do — but this is probably the most moving series I've ever watched.I found myself cheering so hard for the main couple that I often fast-forwarded through some of the side stories, which isn't entirely fair because they weren't bad either. The show had just the right combination of slow-burn romance, mystery, and incredible chemistry.
A sincere thanks to the people who gave this show the top reviews it actually deserves — because I'll admit, I can be a bit of a snob and sometimes won't watch anything that doesn't have high scores across the board. This one is going straight into my top five.

great, but missing something
This drama felt like i was eating a meal, but it tasted like something was missing and i don’t know what. The overal story and was interesting, but somehow could be better? I think it was just a bit dragging at some point. We (as watchers) could’ve known sooner what happened at that day.
I did like the warm feeling of this drama. All the characters were so sweet and full of love. it’s maybe not very realistic, but i loved it. I liked all the side couples tho, very very sweet! I hope we will all find a loving home surrounded with people full of love.
I think it’s still worth watching, just don’t expect a mind blowing crazy drama. Just a great lovely drama.

This show is so good even its not over yet
First, this drama is so emotional, but at the same time its really really CUTEE, seonu chan is so golden retriever type and so charming, i love his character so much. The storyline is insanely good compare to others new kdrama that release. I hope to see then together until the end. For additional, the other characters having their own partner is SOO cute. Pls give us happy ending..Was this review helpful to you?
Ice Princess and Golden Retriever
This drama immediately caught my attention with its interesting plot. It might feel a bit confusing at first, but things slowly start to come together as you keep watching. The casting is solid, and I love the chemistry between the leads, plus the supporting characters are really good. Both the female and male leads suit the personalities of their characters perfectly. I mean, it’s Lee Sung‑kyung, her presence alone makes it worth watching. It’s still too early to call it top-tier since only two episodes are out, but so far I’d give it a high rating. I'll edit my rating once I fully watch. If you enjoy romance with a bit of mystery, I definitely recommend giving it a try.
And if you’re looking for a romance featuring an ice princess and a golden retriever boy, this is a great pick. For me, it’s a solid 10/10 (so far)!

Come for the Radiant Smile, Stay for the Healing Stillness
Finally! Something truly nostalgic from that Golden Era of K-dramas (2016-2018) that actually fills the void I’ve been feeling for the past few years. To be honest, I almost stopped watching new k-drama releases after 2023 — everything felt so predictable, like a copy-paste job. But this drama has met my expectations. It’s that exact feeling that sucked us all into the K-drama 'rabbit hole' in the first place.Chae Jong-hyeop is just a human Golden Retriever, both on and off-screen, my guess. That smile alone could cure any depression; he was simply born for the screen! He has this natural 'sunny retriever' / capybara IKYK vibe that he just can't suppress. Even when he’s portraying the heavy, suicidal past of his character, you can see he’s hard at 'acting' the depression — but the moment he turns into that 'radiant light,' he literally blooms. He is the reason I’m looking forward to next weekend.
As for Lee Sung-kyung — jebal, jebal (please!), I need more from you! I love her, but she’s been giving us the exact same facial expressions and body language for years across all her works. I feel like she’s stuck in a 'Renee Zellweger/Bridget Jones syndrome': when an actress hits it big by gaining healthy weight for a career-defining role, and then spends the rest of her career in ultra-skinny mode. In Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, she had a healthy figure (which Koreans called 'fat,' though she was nowhere near it), but ever since, it’s just been the same model-too-skinny fit in her every project. Girl, you’ve passed the 35-year milestone — show us the body of a healthy, mature woman! Give us less of those 'round-shocked eyes' in every close-up or kiss scene, and more of the raw, professional acting we know you’re capable of.
There is a certain stillness and calmness here that I’ve deeply missed. Yes, it’s full of clichés, and no, this isn't the real Korea 2025-2026 life, but it’s the perfect escape from the grey routine of workdays and these final days of winter. The timing is spot on: airing through March allows us to feel that spring vibe exactly when it hits in real life.
Overall, we are 1/3 of the way through... and I’m in high anticipation. Please, writers, do not ruin the remaining 2/3 or the finale. Don't let it turn into a mess like so many promising dramas did and do!

This drama is setting up to be a top tier kdrama of all time
I went into this show not expecting much, I was intrigued by the teaser and i like most of the main actors/actress so I gave it a watch when it first started..and boy, have I come to absolutely LOVE the show!most kdramas either have a flaw either in the cinematography, plot, or acting, but for some reason, this kdrama so far is not lacking in anything.
first things first, the world-building and the plot is sooo good...each of the sisters have depth and their own struggles and trauma they're dealing with, it's not like they're just plot devices for the female lead. haran's trauma is obvious, and the male lead chan is there to become her healer, for hayoung, the depth lies in her hesitancy to show her feelings and feels the need to bury her trauma in order to be the glue for their family and mr yeon is there as a reliable constant person that sees her true feelings and acts as a push for her to finally be true to herself. while for hadam, its the insecurity and trust issues she has surrounding her family and yugyeom, whose conflict lies in his belief that he needs to protect her and her family from getting hurt if they find out about nana kim's dementia.
so many shows become lackluster in the middle of the series, where the plot diverges into a nonsensical path of either dragging things out uneccessarily long, or the writing somehow feels like the writers wrote the script high *cough our universe
but in your radiant season is still having a consistent plot up till ep 7 and the respective plots and subplots are unfolding well on time/appropriately to the series' length
if the series ends well if no hiccups, then this drama will be a solid 10/10 for me and deservess so much more hype than it's getting right now..!

this show will make you cry big time, but it’s all worth it!
i love the acting, and how real everything feels while you watch it. i love the main leads relationship especially, and the way that they have both healed each other and been the sun to the others moon while the female lead doesn’t know is so beautiful. thsi is a show i fear i will never get bored of, and so far i haven’t watched a single boring episode! the second and third lead couple are also adorable: i especially love the relationship between the youngest sister and her boyfriend! hes such a green flag, and shes even greener! overall, this drama has its own way of making you cry, laugh, smile, and cringe all in one, and that’s something that i love to see in a kdrama! Was this review helpful to you?
