Lack of chemistry
A simple plot.Should do well with all BL lovers , however :
- there is no chemistry at all between the two main characters which makes the topic of an eventualiteit romance between them very hard to consider.
- the acting is poorly done like you’re watching a pre-take rehearsal reading in stead of the real episode.
- the only actors with some potential in acting are Prescott and Suthisawan, the others seem to be there just to read their lines, without any depth.
If you don’t expect much from a BL besides an occasional (half) naked body this could pass, otherwise better watch some Korean or Taiwanese BL of the moment.

Hmmm...Can't put my finger on it yet...
Okay. I have watched these first six episodes three times. Three times. Why?Part of it is I like watching when people stand up to the bad guy. For as bad as it was - in My Dear Secretary - when she took him down - it was vicious and gratifying to watch. In Bad Guy My Boss - the moment when he states "I am your Secretary - not a slave. I don't have to put up with you." was a beautiful moment. You could see the boss' eyes change as he knew he didn't have a comeback.
What I find hard to believe and can't seem to let go of his how awful a person he has been for several years and yet we are to believe that they are ecstatic bed buddies after a couple hours together? Uhhh, no. I would be better inclined to believe that they are drawn to each other because opposites attract but, beyond sex - their relationship should and would falter. The boss is too awful a person. And the secretary - while having moments - is a willing doormat.
Product placement was a mess in the resort episode. They crammed it in during the entire vacation. It must have been contractually insisted that they drink the drinks while surrounded with palm trees, good weather and flowing cottons and silks.
I will stick with it until the end. On the body wise side of things - Khim is near perfection. The others - ehh. Would have like to see the casting done the other way. Zax as the CEO - he would have appeared more professional and his bad side would have been darker - more corporate. James as the CEO just appears more a**hole than professional.

It is surprisingly enjoyable.
Bad Guy My Boss is a BL series from Thailand and it has 12 episodes and 1 special episode where only good things happened. In reality, this is just what I want to have literally in every show. Unfortunately, this is not what I can say about the entire show. It is not the most inventive story but it is pretty decent. I actually enjoyed watching these stories be revealed to us. The story follows a CEO and his long-term secretary that he is trusting everything to but, of course, there are some hesitations as he is someone who is known for having multiple sex partners. I am not sure how he is getting so much time to have sex with people since they are always busy but here, he is having sex with so many people but he has one person that is like a regular and he already formed a friendship with him. This will set the conflict in the story and a lot more will be happening as some past relationships might come into play. So, yes, this is a vey stereotypical love story from BL storylines with possible unnecessary storylines in between but I am a bit surprised with myself because I feel like I am enjoying the show. I am really liking what I am seeing here and I do think that the characters are actually interesting. There is something about James Prescott’s Elyes that just makes me fall in love with the character. I think it is the charm. The acting is not superb but the acting is okay. He does not have the typical six-pack toned abs that we see on tops in BL series but I feel like he is still so hot. The confidence and the dominating feel to his character is so sexy that I wanted a man like him ASAP. Like seriously, he was hot and there are so many times in the show where what he is doing is not okay or supposed to not be okay like tailing Pat when he is out with his ex-girlfriend, power tripping, or having extremely personal relationship with his employee but it somehow felt okay for the character because they have known each other for a very long time and they have shared so much space together that there is a certain level of comfortability that is unknowingly established between the two of them and I respect that. I mean, we all have been like Pat with our work but we did not get the handsome CEO or the other perks of the job. I also felt like Pat is a part of how the company was built already. He is a workaholic and they always have things to talk about despite having been together the entire day. I am seriously not mad and I so in love with the love story of these two. I know that there are some red flags here and there especially him having other affairs that he knows but he they were not together at the time and he did not have sexual relationship with Kim anymore when he decided to pursue Pat. He showed that he is serious but he had a hard time committing which is surprisingly more normal now than before but I get that. I don’t think that it is a bad thing as long as they are on the same page about it. Again, respect begets respect. If what they want is different or none would like to adjust theirs, they don’t have to be together. I think that in this one, they decided that the relationship that they have would be more important than anything else and that they decided to be together and I don’t see a problem in that. There are other hindrances like the corporate fight but that added to more scenes for them to be together and it is not a well-written storyline but it is not too bad at all. It is watchable at the very least. Again, I actually enjoyed watching the show. James Prescott is hot. The love story of Elyes and Pat is pretty sweet now. The special episode was necessary for me.Was this review helpful to you?

Not So Good, Not So Bad
“Bad Guy My Boss” started off as an interesting and provocative watch, however, as it progressed, it became quite monotonous and resulted in a tedious show that lost me as the audience. While the story of a situation-ship between a boss and their subordinate is titillating, and the progression of the relationship dynamic can be interesting, the way in which the show tackles the relationship and the characters was subpar, and with little to no character growth, the story seemed to be stuck on the first half of the series, and the relationships did not grow organically, but the growth was moved by outside factors pertaining to the business, instead of internal factors affecting the relationship.Read the complete article here-

Ridiculously Frustrating: I don't know how I finished this
I don't write review but...This was awkward yet hilariously ridiculous—so predictable, I swear!
Patt’s obsession with the company is baffling—why is he so worried? Just let it fall apart already! He is just too delusional, and Elyse has been nothing but a jerk. Can someone please give Pat some common sense?
For a few episodes, I was somewhat okay with them as a couple, but then Boss refused to label their relationship, and Patt (understandably) got mad. However, after Patt's accident, suddenly everything was fine? Patt’s behavior is so inconsistent—it’s frustrating.
And the worst part? Boss let Kim kiss him for several minutes, in Ep 11, but claims he’s in love with Pat? Make it make sense!
This is probably the only show where I was rooting for the villains to break up the main couple, LOL.
On a positive note, I absolutely loved the office worker lady. Fei and Run’s chemistry also stood out, and I couldn’t get enough of them. I wish to see more of them in a special.
As for the actors:
James, who plays Elyse, felt so NPC-like and awkward at times—it really pulled me out of the story.
Nick (Fei), Fam (Run), Marc (Chon), and Perth (Thiti) are absolutely majestic and decent actors; I hope to see them in other series soon!

a thot of a boss
Sorry, but Pat is so much better than me because I would have left the country a long time ago if a man had friend with benefits and shoved it in my face all the time while knowing about my undying love for him. The one scene where all of Elyes's sleeping partners AND Pat were in the same room, no. Lost me. I guess I expected too much from this but the acting was still great. Was this review helpful to you?
When the writers fell asleep
Just like any good book, it’s the story that pulls you in. Think about your first Harry Potter read. The wroter(s) just couldn’t pull the plot together. It seems to dragged on. On top of that the leads lack the chemistry It felt like it started as a BL version of What's wrong with secretary Kim. Amd turned into what’s wrong with my Boss. A good director can make a bad actor look good and I think the actors have potential but we’re not guided or directed well. The fight scenes were meh! It was hard to finish this series and it could have been shortened to 8 episodes. Emotionally I just couldn’t connect to this show though deep inside I was rooting for it not to fail. Was this review helpful to you?
The relationship between Elyes (James Hayward) and Pat (Kad Ploysupa) is the engine of the series. They have that spark where you can tell they want each other as much as they want to strangle one another. The pair plays perfectly with the tension between the dominant boss and the employee who, while appearing submissive, is the only one who truly knows how to handle the "monster." James Prescott ensures the character isn't just "bad," but someone with a magnetism that justifies why Pat stays despite everything.
While Elyes is pure fire and control, Pat represents stability, creating a "push and pull" dynamic that truly gets you hooked.
The intimate scenes are well-choreographed and possess an intensity that BL fans usually appreciate when looking for something more mature than a high school romance.
Unlike other low-budget dramas, this one features a very polished aesthetic. The wardrobe, the offices, and the cinematography scream "luxury and power," which helps immensely in immersing the viewer in the corporate world.
If you don't like toxic personalities, this drama isn't for you. The series is called Bad Guy for a reason. If you're looking for a healthy relationship with "assertive communication" from Chapter 1, this isn't it. Elyes can be quite toxic and frustrating at the beginning.

That's a try, but with novice actors and a really bad-written story.
PLOT: Elyes is a demanding, borderline abusive boss towards his assistant, Pat. Elyes has a trauma that has robbed him of the desire to love (but he does have a lot of Friends with Benefits). When he learns that Pat, in love with his boss, wants to resign, he's ready to do anything to stop him. But they are a lot of competitors (Villain, love rivals, etc.)+++ James Prescott is handsome and has a great screen presence.
### The story is so badly written (by AI??) that it's frustrating. The characters aren't consistent, the coincidences are huge, the twists are ridiculous, and dialogue are weird. (ಠ益ಠщ) (ಠ益ಠщ)
### I know this is the first drama for these actors, but they all need to improve their acting skills!!
### A lot of things seem off in this series; the formula doesn't work. щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
### Who chose the OSTs??? Inappropriate, off-kilter, disturbing! щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
=> No point wasting 12 hours on this ***.*** Find a better series.
*******************************************************
Tentative, OK.
щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
### Je sais que pr ces acteurs, c'est leur 1er drama, mais ils doivent (tous) améliorer leurs acting skills !!
### Bcp de choses semblent off ds cette série, la recette ne prend pas. щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
### Qui a choisi les OSTs ??? Inadaptés, décalées, perturbants ! щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
=> Inutile de perdre 12 h sur cette ***.*** Cherchez une meilleure série.

I yearn for mediocrity
I started this and then dropped it because it was terrible and then I gave it another chance. And it’s like fine. I would give it an 8.125 so 8 out of 10. This is objectively a bad show, but they have really good chemistry. So I’m gonna say what I liked about it, what I didn’t, and then an overview.Starting right at the gates, I am in love with James Prescott. This show does not do him justice. He is low-key chopped shit in this, but he is genuinely so hot and it’s a shame that this show didnt do him justice but trust me he is really hot. Also, they still have a really good chemistry despite this being really shitty and I’ve rewatched this twice because of their chemistry, ignoring the plot, but their chemistry can get you through it. OK so I hate office romance as we know, but I don’t know why, but I kinda like this one. I don’t know why but something about it. Kind of drew me in honestly. And the reasons I hate it aren’t because it was an office trope. It was because the show is shit. Also, they’re sex scenes were low-key fire and they low-key ate those up. I cannot even lie because they have such good chemistry. I think both of them are good actors. Just this show is so bad. Also, the looks of love that James’s character was giving kad or Tad. I don’t fucking know, were genuinely so amazing and this show is shit. It’s so ass, but the looks of love his eyes like softened and you could see it and it was really sweet.Yeah, that’s all I can think of right now so like three things Lmao.
The plot fucking sucks. It is so incredibly boring and you’re just like what the hell I just wanna see these two fuck I don’t care about this weird plot with an ex-boyfriend who’s being abused by like a CEO like I do not care and the more the episodes went on the less I gave a fuck. Also, his boss was indeed a bad guy, a terrible guy actually I cannot even lie. Also, I hate the way they did James‘s hair in this. It made him look horrifying. Also, the makeup makes them both look suken in and crazy and they’re both good-looking like I look at their TikToks when they’re like doing fan service and stuff and I’m like they’re good-looking guys but in this show, we don’t know how to do make up because holy fuck y’all look horrifying. Also, why is he chauffeuring his boss around? That was really weird also the whole thing with the ex of the beginning I’m like what and then they drag that shit out I really really hated that. Also, why were these episodes so packed? There was so much plot, but it was also just nothing. There was so much drama and so much happening, but it was also nothing at the same fucking time. There were also so many abusive people in this that were completely irrelevant to the plot like why are we all beaters? Oh my Lord. And our main couple argues so much about such irrelevant stuff like holy fucking shit. Let’s do something and stop fucking arguing about literally nothing. And that’s it.
Right out of the gates I gave it the first episode of six out of 10 so you know that’s off to a terrible start. “They are eating this scene up. Elyes is this weird and attractive, every time he smiles I SMILE DUDE. Elyes looks like a vampire. Edward Cullen-type shit.” “I feel like I have watched 4 episodes and I am only on the first one.” “Elyes' eyes go soft when Pat comes in. It feels like a new episode every time I look down. Just wasted 49 minutes of my life. Height difference. WHAT THE MOTHERFUCKING FUCK DID I JUST FUCKING WATCH?” “Yo our company got ruined but we are gonna blame Elyes bc its def his fault.” Elyes is pissing me off. All bro needs is a shotgun and the story would be saved.” I AM SOBBING. WHY WOULD I WRITE THAT? I was craving this show. “MOMMA A GIRL BEHIND YOU. Not even being freaky we needed Elyes to stand up in the boxers because his torso is genuinely so long and I wanna know if his kegs are too.” “Without his curly hair James low-key looks like a skin walker cause it’s BECAUSE HIS face is sunken in. It’s like hot, but low-key kind of scary.” “Run should get with win and them they all have a threesome with pat bro.” “PRANK EM JOHN. This show is so fun lmao. A nice background show. I would run but apparently the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk can fucking fight. This camera angle is making me sick though. putting fei and elyes against each other more is such a good plot idea. With the kidnapping. That's why Run stayed. Because it’s always been Fei long. No matter what he did to him it was always him.” I have no idea what I’m talking about here but it’s fucking hilarious. ”Pat is trying to decide whether he wants to quit or open his legs every five minutes.”
This show is so bad but it’s low-key addictive. Okay bye!

Just a mediocre typical drama of office and romance.
The usual office + romance drama you see in a 30-40 episodes cdrama.Just that is in BL and have shippers co workers xD (i love shipper co workers haha i prolly join them fangirling.)
Not sure where all the hate come from… i don’t see people complaining at the exact SAME thing happening to a MAN-WOMAN / HETRO romance combo with the same storyline.
The same reused plot like MAJORITY Cdrama/Kdrama, with the common obstacles, office spy-espionage, internal HR problem, love triangles with sabotages (this has less of that xD positive vibes! please-- in cdrama just TOO MUCH sabotaging OR dragging urgh!!) the typical side couple who choose wrong and regret et cetera... if you watch enough office-rom drama you'll know ~
At first i felt the drama was giving < kiss me, liar > webtoon vibes, but this ML isn’t as toxic as the ML in the webtoon HAHA (the ml there also secretly crushes and arrange s*x-partners for the ml in the webtoon.) Tho this is also adapted from novel, but i didn’t read that so yeah.
The office drama part is similar to many dramas also nothing special just that instead of hetero romance u have BL. and its shorter with dumber villains HAHA, i mean usually it takes the cdrama quite a few episode to find CCTV footage this drama found it in 1. And also instead of gossiping bad stuff of your “boss and secretary” love story (the typical typical), but this has ‘shipper’ co-workers instead which is cute.
IMHO the "bad boss" here is not that bad, have anyone watched Cdrama < The Boss > , he lit affect FL's personal life too due to cohabitation and has fl doing all the extra stuff on purpose. at least this one is only annoying during work hours. (if we look pass the cute stalking and self invited to a meetup lmao)
I saw that there’s many super low 1-3 ratings so thought I could give this drama some positivity cause I find it not too bad, I might even rewatch it another time.
Nothing NEW or refreshing, but also NOTHING SO BAD about it LOL

Terribly good-
Okay so i am guilty of being hooked by this show. I really liked the first few episodes however things got ridiculous in the last few episodes.I was impressed by James’ acting- he has really good. Micro expressions.
The story has been done before but they didn’t do it better.
Non of the characters appeared to actually be in love. It seemed very disingenuous for me. People seemed to just fall in and out of love easily. Kim declaring his love and then all of a sudden seeming okay with it all. Long Fei declaring his love only after overhearing a phone conversation. Does it make it okay that he was blackmailing his BF for years. Elys declaring his love at the end of the episode.
Everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow that doesn’t make sense.
I wish studio Wabi Sabi had picked this up as they tend to follow the books more.
Despite all that i enjoyed the show it was terrible, I mean it was bad that it became good lol. It wasn’t boring and it kept me engaged.
