A Brilliantly Bold Take on Intimacy and Connection

The concept of "S Line" is absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen an idea like this anywhere else, and it feels really unique and interesting. It’s fascinating to imagine a world where you could see a red line above people’s heads showing who they’ve had sexual relations with. This idea shows how intimacy can be both good and life-saving—helping someone out of a difficult situation—or terrifying and overwhelming, like in cases of betrayal or judgment. At the same time, it shows that people who have multiple relationships without hurting anyone shouldn’t be judged, and even someone with no experience at all might face scrutiny.
The creators did an incredible job. The final episode, especially the part that felt like a theatrical performance, was executed beautifully and was awesome.

For the Rewatch Value, I gave it a 1. In my opinion, one full watch is enough for any series, no matter how good or bad it is. I rarely feel the need to rewatch them.

Quirky

This is not for everyone, obviously. You'll know by the end of that first episode if you'll like the main story.

Once into second episode I was gripped by the tension and story as it played out.

The problem for me was after the main story fed into the final resolution things fell a bit short of satisfying, and left much to be explained. That ending or final resolution doesn't really fit what comes before. The meat of the series is a good supernatural mystery/detective show, but the ending feels like something from a different supernatural horror movie.

I don't feel cheated and am glad I watched those first 5.5 episodes.

So, if you decide to watch be forewarned.

good for a first time watch (short and curious storyline)

only watched for Lee so hyuk😭
but still the ending was mid, could've had a open ending!
good show, great plot!
loved the mystery and the climaxx
I could have enjoyed more episodes!! the plot was unique and I loved the part when the characters go crazy after seeing the slines but still it lacked some depth that could have made it a 10/10 tho all the casting was super good and carried the show beautifully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What you see might not what you get!

This story was brave enough and very unique. It was the first time, if I recall, that interaction in that manner was connected. And looking at it, it is creepy but it was awesome at the same time. It made me think if how my S Line would look like. Its kind of scary that it might be used against you the things or the lines they see. Also, interesting to know who might have an interaction in the people around you before that acts normal in front of you.

In a world were I live in, the community I belong to, S Lines will be kind of complex. That's why it was actually an eye-opener. Specially for young kids to settle for something constant. Hopefully, they settle for it.

Going back to the story, it was very good and has a potential. However, how they presented the story needs to have more push more emotion and intensity. But the story and sub stories they presented were good. It made you wonder. At the same time, it tells you that what you see and what you believe you see might not actually what you get or the story will not be what you think.

Two Shows for the Price of One

This is a very interesting little show that's hard to talk about or recommend. The main issue is that the first five episodes are one type of show, and then the sixth and final episode takes a turn and does a completely different type of story. In a way, it does conclude the plot elements that have been introduced, but by going off in such a weird direction, it doesn't feel like a real conclusion. It ends up like some kind of fever dream that is unsatisfying as an end to the story, but the story up to that point was really interesting. And the show is well made overall. So it's tough.

The first five episodes are a cop drama with a supernatural element - the main character's ability to see the line connecting people who have had sex. There are also glasses that give this ability to anyone, and Somebody is secretly giving those glasses to various people. The glasses also seem to have an addictive and corrupting influence on the person wearing them. Ultimately, people knowing these details about others leads to a lot of murder and death, one way or another.

The really fun part is when the detective finally gets the glasses and starts using the information they provide to solve a crime. It's neat because the red line in an inarguable fact, but the facts can be misleading, and he still has to dig further to find the truth. The cases that come up are all generally interesting and engaging. I also want to give huge props for story structure here, because the main girl's plot integrates nicely with these anthology cases. It's very well done for the first five episodes.

The sixth episode is completely different. It takes a full-on supernatural turn. We've had the supernatural involved from the beginning with the power to see the red lines, but usually in a real-world setting with a fantasy element, you would introduce all your magic in the beginning and then that's where it stops. The rest should function like the real world does. The sixth episode apparently breaks that rule, although it's hard to be sure because it just gets very trippy and surreal and I'm not 100% sure how I was supposed to interpret all that. We seem to have an afterlife/parallel dimension, a demon (?), and ghosts or something, maybe? It's all very different.

The sixth episode also seems to introduce a new supernatural rule that it doesn't then follow through with, which I can't go into detail on without spoilers. And the whole thing tries to leave an open ending, but it's a pointless addition as far as I can tell.

It's conceivable that the sixth episode could have gone off in a very magical direction and yet done it successfully in a way that made the ending satisfying - I'm not sure how, but I'm willing to admit that it might have been possible to do that. I do not think the sixth episode actually did succeed, though. I would have preferred an ending that stayed grounded in the real world like the previous five episode did. Our nemesis could have just been a murderer, not a demon (or whatever she is).

So it's hard to recommend. I can't even say, "Just watch the first five episodes and skip the sixth" because then there just isn't any ending at all if you do that. I guess all I can say is that it's only six episodes, it's well made, the first five are very interesting, but just be prepared for an LSD nightmare of an ending.

Honestly, I watched it for Lee Soo Hyuk, so I got what I came here for.

Lot of unexploited potential, writing weaknesses and a WTF ending : quite memorable but frustrating.

What would happen if people were able to see "red lines" connecting sexual partners ? This intriguing idea hooked me from start. Unfortunately, I feel the writing failed to exploit well enough this powerful concept. There were a lack of logic at many points of the series. The "one crime by episode" format prevented to build properly the overarching common arc. It led to an absurd ending that what quite stylish but clunkily constructed with little rhymes nor reasons.

The acting was good. It is my first time watching Lee Soo Hyuk and I found him incredibly charming in his role. Lee Da Hae does also a good job providing nuance to a part that could have definitely been better scripted. It is a bit of a shame both did not interact even more. Given the length of the series, I wish the showrunner would have spend less time following the teens (played by A Rin and Lee Eun Saem) and focusing on the adults side of the story. Especially because A Rin's character remained so much of a blank caneva during the course of the drama, I was disappointed that the focus was so much on her.

Visually, there were a lot of impactful scenes. It was quite icky at time with a really immersive dark atmosphere and a fitting soundtrack. There is an artsy vibe to the series that I really appreciated. While I feel the story in itself never really reached its full potential with an ending that felt very lacking, production and making remaining of a very good quality from start to finish.

Despite all its fails in writing and the failure in exploiting fully the concept, I would still recommend this to people that are looking for a dark thriller with an innovative central idea. It is a let down for many reasons but at the same time the premise in itself is so strong that I think it is worth giving a shot to this quite short drama. Be mindful if you have any trigger, there are some very dark and disturburing scenes that could be upsetting.

it was so good at first but in the end it's horrible

the ending ruins everything. It's so stupid and doesn't make any sense. Such a waste of time. You should get better writer for the last episode. i don't know what the writer is having when he wrote that last episode. stupid.
It was so good at first for real, great plot twists, but why does the ending have to be like that?????????!!!!!!!!!! it doesn't even explain anything! Such a waste of time.

? S-Line: Bold Premise, But Missing the Drama

(And What If That’s... Basically the Whole Plot?)

So guys — the entire essence of S-Line is this: What if you had the power to know who’s sexually involved with whom... and what happens once you find out? 👀

Sounds intriguing, right? And to be fair, it is a fresh and bold concept — props to K-dramas for trying something this out-of-the-box. I personally hadn’t seen anything quite like this before, so it definitely gets points for originality.

BUT... (yes, there’s a but)
It kinda left me confused. There’s no music, the suspense is lacking, and the vibe is a bit lost between school drama and adult themes. It’s not fully coming-of-age, and it’s not bold enough to be a full-blown mature drama either — somewhere awkwardly in between.

The storyline? Just okay. No real action, no strong emotional punch, and honestly, I kept wondering where exactly is this drama going?

So yeah, if you're curious and want to try something really different, give it a shot. But if you're looking for solid storytelling, intense drama, or emotional depth — you could probably skip this one and not miss much.

waste of time bro ?

I hate the way they made the red thread theory go from something romantic to something very sexualized, I don't know how to explain this but I think that “sexualized” is the word for this drama. I literally wasted my time watching this. It's good but not so much to recommend it. That’s all, thank you for listening. (well, thank you for see this hahaha)

It was pretty engaging from the start. The premise is unique, mysterious, and each episode kept me curious. But then came the final episode and I was like, “Wait, what??” 😅

Honestly, I was confused at first like there was something important they didn’t explain properly. After reading some fan discussions, I kind of got the idea. So it’s not that the story is bad, just... there were zero hints leading up to that twist (or maybe I missed them?), so I was left a bit blank while watching, haha.

I also thought this would be more of a thriller-crime with some fantasy vibes, but the story went in a totally different direction. The closure also felt kinda underwhelming, maybe because of a skipped timeline? And what’s a bit disappointing is that the aftermath, when everyone could suddenly see the S-Line, wasn’t shown much. That could’ve been a strong ending point.

Good start, terrible ending

S Line is a dark and gripping mini-series that combines mystery, psychological tension, and social commentary in a unique and disturbing way.

The story follows a girl who can see red lines above people's heads, revealing their sexual relationships. For others, the line is visible only if they wear some random glasses.

Each episode follows a different case where someone gets the glasses and their life takes a dramatic turn. What starts as curiosity often ends in tragedy, and the deeper the story went, the more disturbing it became.

The pacing was slow but reasonable. With only 6 episodes, the story was building effectively, however out of nowhere, the final episode takes a whole different path and the series ends up disastrously without giving a proper explanation of glasses, the girl's ability to see the red lines or the supposedly cult that was seen in the final episode. The show could have been so good, but the finale made it into a disappointing affair eventually.

Overall, S Line is a wasted potential, that had a great story, but went wrong due to it's confusing and unexplainable ending.

My Rating : 2.5/5
